Chapter 34: Inside the Mind of Harry Potter

Harry was sitting in the Headmaster's Office. He knew it because there were his damn lemon drops. But this wasn't Albus' office, it was his mindscape. Harry looked around the office and spotted four individuals sitting on couches by the fire.

Harry had seen them before; they were the founders of Hogwarts. He moved across the room and took the only chair by the group. He eyed each one of the founders in the eye, trying to find out how they entered his mindscape, and whether or not he was dead or not.

Salazar Slytherin spoke first, "Harry you are not dead. You are just magically exhausted and are in the hospital wing healing nicely. Normally it would take a lot of time to recharge your magic, even with Hogwarts helping you, it will take some time, but we cannot have you wait. We have brought you here, to finish your training and to help you connect with Hogwarts in a more efficient manner to restore your magic."

Helga Hufflepuff took over the explanations. "You see Harry, Tom Riddle is much closer to returning then anyone thought. You need to get your research finished, then defeat him. So just relax and let us help you."

Harry did as he was told and relaxed as the four founders placed their wands to Harry's head and transferred all of their knowledge to him. Unlike when Harry had claimed his right as the Heir of Gryffindor, and later became the High Lord of Hogwarts, this time he was receiving the founders' knowledge, including their personal experiences.

What they were doing was different because there was no magic transferred; unlike when Godric's magic and knowledge was infused into Harry's own magical core and mind when he claimed his birthright as the Heir of Gryffindor. Then when the founders made him the High Lord of Hogwarts, Harry had not only received their blessing, but he also received their feely given their blood which also contained a part of their own magic, however this did not include any of their knowledge that Godric didn't already possess. This blood and magic all mixed together into his own blood and magic, making the literal heir of the four families.

Suddenly he had memories that were not his flash threw his mind. Upon realization of what they were, Harry began to process them and figure out where to put them in his mindscape.

He finally decided on the staff room on the third floor, Harry organized them by founder in large books placed on shelves. After organizing them, Harry decided that since his body needed rest, that he would take a walk through his mind.

His mindscape was of course Hogwarts, and was recreated in every detail, including the magic that she contained. This is why his Occlumency shields were so strong; his mind was literally powered by the ancient magic that was within Hogwarts. It was during the time when he was merging with Godric's magic, that Godric explained to him the idea of this type of mindscape.

Godric explained that each of the founders rebuilt their mindscapes to portray their part of the Hogwarts. Godric's mindscape was Gryffindor Tower and his office which was just down the hall from the portrait of the fat lady. Rowena's mindscape was a recreation of the Hogwarts Library and attached spell labs, which were no longer used. Salazar's mindscape was the complete Chamber of Secrets, not just the antechamber Harry had beaten Tom Riddle in. Helga's mindscape included the Hufflepuff common room, her office, and the kitchens.

However later in life, all four founders were able to construct one that existed in all of their mindscapes, the Great Hall, which would not only lead to each other's minds, but it also gave them a direct connection to the castle herself. Because of this advancement in the mind arts, the founders were often accused by their students to have eyes in the back of their heads.

Harry, as the High Lord of Hogwarts, was able to create the entire castle and grounds within his mind and tie them directly to the actual castle in the real realm. When he first built the castle, he organized and placed his memories into various locations around the school. Memories from school he placed into books and began to place them in locations that they were related to. Transfiguration classes went into McGonagall's classroom while Potions went into Snape's classroom, and so forth and so on all through the school. He placed memories of conversations he had with specific professors in their offices; his disastrous Occlumency lessons with Snape went into his office, his Patronus lessons with Remus, talks with Flitwick, McGonagall, Sprout, and Hagrid etc.

He then took the memories of the Dursleys and placed them in the Dungeons, in one of the cells. He placed his memories of his enemies into the Slytherin Dorms with his memories of Tom Riddle into the seventh year boys' dorms while Crabbe Goyle and Malfoy all went into another dorm room. Memories relating to each of Voldemort's Inner Circle also got a dorm room.

The memories he had of his family, the Weasleys, Hermione, Remus, Tonks, and Sirius were all placed in his office. He then took the memories what Ginny and he did in private and moved them into the bedchamber where he placed a number of wards to ensure no one ever got in there. The memories of his friends he placed in Gryffindor Tower, with Neville and Luna in their dorm room. The memories of Gringotts were placed in the Hufflepuff common room, and he memories of the ICW, the Ministry of Magic, the Hogwarts Advisory board and the operations of the school were all placed in Albus' office along with his memories of Albus himself.

The Great Hall served as the link between himself and Hogwarts herself, like it did for the founders. The connection he had with Voldemort was buried deep within the Chamber of Secrets. It was not within the Antechamber, which was a far as Harry had penetrated when Ginny had been possessed; the connection was in Salazar's meditation chamber which was located beneath part of the lake. His connection with Ginny was the portal in the entrance hall. However unlike the real Hogwarts, there was no protective wall around it, it was just open for free exchanges between the two of them. Right now, it was closed off, because of the amount of magic that Harry needed to heal quickly.

There of course were wards and shields and spells to protect Harry's mind, but he wasn't satisfied with that so he had been working on guardians. He successfully recreated the portraits and animated them to serve as look outs. He animated the suits of armor to patrol the castle and grounds, ust like he did before the goblins arrived to defend Hogwarts and then undertook the task of creating actual creatures. Harry had been trying every night, using his Astral Projection abilities, to work how to create representations of actual independent magical creatures. However, now with Salazar and Helga's knowledge, he learned the secret to creating creature guardians. To create animals in a person's mind that were full grown required a very large amount of magic. It was so much magic, that no person could handle that much magic. So what you do instead is create an egg let it grow up…for lack of a better term…naturally.

So that is what Harry was doing. To create an egg took very little magic or time, and since it was in his head, he could control how much times passed. He decided to first grow a Basilisk to guard his connection to Voldemort. When he first created it, he used Salazar's knowledge and made himself its master. This way Tom could try to control the basilisk. Thanks to the acceleration of time Ursula, which was the original name for Salazar's Basilisk, was now fifty feet long. Harry placed her in hibernation and inside wards that would awaken her if something came across the connection. He then created a portrait of Salazar Slytherin and hung it in the chamber so that he could report anything he saw through the connection.

Harry exited the chamber and proceeded to the stables on the ground where he created five griffins, seven hippogriffs and three Hungarian horntail dragon eggs. All the animals hatched quickly and grew into adolescent forms once again thanks to the accelerated time Harry had employed to grow and hatch them. The only animals that were not created by Harry were the Phoenix and the two Lions, a male and female. The phoenix, which looked like his animagus form was the leader of all these animals. The Lion and Lioness were his Lieutenants and chief enforcers.

Confident in the condition of is castle and the work he had accomplished, Harry felt that his body was healed and magically recharged so he headed towards the sorting hat's chamber. However in his mindscape he modified it to look like a transporter room from Star Trek, which he had seen on the TV when he was younger. He used the transporter as the entrance and exit point from his mindscape. He walked up onto the transporter pad, and took a depth breath, "Well… permission to disembark."

A voice came from nowhere, it was the voice of the computer on Star Trek, "Permission granted. Transport engaged." With these words, Harry Potter left his mindscape and returned to the real world.
