hey guys so this is my second chapter I was going to do it on 2x16 but there wasn't a lot i could do it on so I thought why not define the relationship. The next chapter will involve 2x17 and other things. Chapter 2: Lucky
All Friday during work Mia found it hard to contain her excitement over her date with Nick that thy were due to go on that night, she had texted Rosalee to come over to apart that night before her date to help her pick something out to wear. After much discussion Rosalee and Mia had chose a white dress with large purple flowers on it, they matched a pair of white pumps to got with it and a purple coat. Mia decided to leave her hair wavy but to place a waterfall braid around her head and to wear simple eye make up with slightly heavy black eyeliner as well as light rose pink lipstick. Just as she was putting on her jewellery and putting her things into her small white clutch purse, there was a knock at the door so Mia opened to reveal a very hot looking Nick waiting with a boutique of sunflowers which were her favourites. After grabbing her things they headed to his car so that they could drive to the restaurant that turned out to be one of the best Italian restaurants in portland. Soon they were seated at a table by the window drinking a glass of wine after ordering the meals, they were both surprised how easy the other one was to talk to
" actually I made here a couple of weeks ago to be closer to Monroe and as much as I loved New York it was becoming too busy and too unconnected you know" she said hoping that she had actually answered his question which was 'why did you move to portland?'
" I get that, I mean Portland isn't exactly small but it is way more familiar and connected than New York. here you can have your local coffee shop where they'll remember coffee order rather than a Starbucks on every corner" he said making them both laugh since they knew it was so true
" plus I'm loving this school so much more than I did at my last one" she said thinking about the differences that she had seen so far, she knew that she had made the right decision in moving to Portland
" what is it you teach?" he asked trying to work out whether she would be maths teacher with a board full of equations, he somehow knew she would be the type of teacher to go the extra mile for her students
" history and english but right now I mostly teach history, when I went to NYU I couldn't decided between the two so I became a double major" she said smiling as she realised that she probably sounded like such a geek
" here you guys, a pumpkin risotto for the lady and a medium rare stake for the gentleman" the waiter said placing their meals in front of them, Nick noticed that Mia gave his stake a tempted look
" are you sure you don't mind me eating meat?" he asked not wanting to be the reason that she began to eat meat for the first time, also he didn't her to struggle
" no it's fine honestly, being a veggie works so much better for me I mean this way I don't end up Angelina... oh shes was this blutbad girl that Monroe dated when I was younger" she said remembering that he didn't know who she was talking about
" actually we've already met but Monroe said she was just one type of your kind and she didn't represent what all blutbad are like" he said wondering if that true, he wasn't trying to pressure her he was interested in everything about her including her wesen side
"carefully you're newbie stripes are showing...she was a wild blutbad and while her type don't represent all of us, they do represent the majority. In the wesen world we're known to being viscous, there's a reason why your family portrayed us to be the big bad wolf" she said as she took a bit of her food, it was actually nice to discuss this with a normal person
" and you didn't want that to be to you?" he asked finding it hard to see her as someone viscous who preyed on children in red or any innocent victim
" no I also wanted to help people like teach them and I realised I couldn't exactly help their children while I killed their parents but I'm not the only refusing her kind's way am I?" she said giving a sly but cute smile that made his heart melt
" what do you mean?" he asked trying to work out her meaning but his head was becoming cloud with thoughts of kissing her and other things that weren't first date things to do
" well if you were like your ascenders then you would be holding my decapitated head rather than my hand" she said gesturing to their hands that were lying on the table that were intertwined, he was currently stroking the back of her hand with her thumbs
" yeah its the same thing as you, after my parents accident I knew I wanted to be a cop to help people like the cop on their case tried to do then when I found out I'm a grimm I couldn't do the one thing I was taught not to do" he said wondering if that made any sense, he liked how easy she was to talk to about these things
" you see us as innocents like everyone else don't you?" she asked gently, she didnt think it was possible to like any more than she already did
"yeah does that make me seem weak?" he asked wondering if she was somehow less attracted to him, he didn't understand how his ascenders could kill innocents just because of what they were
" does that not killing innocents make you seem weak? oh totally this is so over, in fact I want you to go over there and kill that Dickfelling over there" she said making them both laugh as they realised that they had gotten into a tense conversation
" whoops I left my gun at home, I wasn't exactly expecting my date to demand a gun fight" he said things were beginning to lighten between them but they had never lost interest in each other
"well then maybe you should expect the unexpected with me" she said flashing a sweet toothy smile as she sipped her glass of wine as they finished their meals
Soon they began to their way back to her apartment as Nick had drove them to the restaurant after picking Mia up at her place. The rest of their meal had been filled with laughter and jokes as they shared a piece of chocolate with some ice cream and at one point began to fight over the last piece by pushing the other's spoon away. As they began to walk towards her door they both knew that they wanted nothing more than to go inside and show the other how much they meant to each other already. However something was holding them back as they stood at her door waiting for the other to take the lead.
" so I really want to ask you come inside..." she said with her hand behind her back on the doorknob while the other was clutched in Nick hand that he was gently stroke it with his thumb
" and I really want you to ask me..." he said sensing what was coming next, it was something that neither of them wanted but it was something that they need do. Neither of them noticed that they had moved closer together
" but I promised Monroe that we go slow with this" she said as he put his hands around her waist pulling her in closer to him so that their bodies were touching and they could feel the others breath tickle their cheek
" I know he made me promise the same thing, he worried about that I'm going to hurt you" he told her as he moved a piece of hair out of her face that had fallen and placed it behind her ear
" should he be?" she said in barely a whisper, she knew what happened between him and Juliette and knew that he couldn't be blamed but she still knew that Juliette had to be hurting over how it ended between them
" not if I can help it" he said matching her tone as he stroked his fingers across her kiss before they gave in to temptation and crashed their lips together, Nick placed his hand on the back of head running his hand through her hair while she grabbed handfuls of his shirt at the back
" oh wow... this just got hard to say no to" she said slightly breathless once they broke the kiss, although their foreheads were now touching as they leaned against the other gentle
" hey listen we can go as slow or fast as you want but right I'm going to kiss you goodbye and walk away before anything happens ok?" he said pulling her into another kiss
" oh so I hate that you're the bigger man" she said laughing as she leaned against the door for support, his kisses were physically making her feel like headed as if she had drank four bottles of wine
" trust me, I hate being the bigger man" he said giving her a kiss on the forehead before heading down the stairs, forcing himself to go otherwise he would give in and do everything he wanted to do to her
The next day during her lunch break she went to the nearest deli shop and grabbed some sandwiches for her, Rosalee and Monroe so that she could go and fill them in on her date with had texted that morning during work to find out how she had slept and to make sure that she didn't regret anything from the night before, they had spent all morning discreetly texting each other. Neither wanted to get caught either her students or his partner, they were planning to meet that night since she had invited him to come over once his current case was closed. When she got there she saw them looking through Rosalees books, she began to hand out the coffee and sandwiches while Rosalee waited for all the glory details
" Monroe tell your girlfriend to stop staring at me, she's starting to keep me out" she said as sat across from her in the backroom at the table that was usually used to create the homemade recipes
" oh no, I want to hear what happened last night as badly as she does" he told her as he grabbed her a chair to sit next to his girlfriend so that they could grill his sister together
"there's nothing to tell, we had a dinner and we had a lovely time then he walked me to my apartment door and kiss me goodnight before leaving" she said giving him a satisfied smile that he wasn't what had been expected
"wait? seriously? thats all that happened?" Rosalee asked unable to quite believe it, she had seen the chemistry between them when they were trying to get Nick's eye sight back
" yeah well my big brother here made us both promise that we would go slow so we are" she said biting into her sandwich, she felt like she was 12 again gossiping about the latest boy that she liked
"there's a reason for that, he just got out of a three year relationship" he said thinking that he was the only one that was seeing sense right now
" yeah but Mia's not Juliette! she already knows about the wesen world so what else come between them?" Rosalee said being able to see the difference the two couples, she knew that they wouldn't have the same issues as they did
" how about the fact that she is wesen? how you thought about how mom and dad are going to handle the fact that you're dating a grimm?" he asked, he wanted to her to face the reality of situation before she got in too deep
" you're friends with a grimm" she said pointing out that if one was going to get into trouble then so was the other
" that's not the same thing and you know it, for one I can't have his grimm babies. I know it doesn't seem like it but I am trying to protect from all of this" he said gently not wanting to upset her but rather consider things before throwing herself head first
" what do you want me to do Roe? stop seeing him?" she said feeling her heart break at the possibility for not pursuing this thing with Nick that was quickly progressing
"no that's not what he's saying is it, Monroe?" Rosalee said with an edge to her voice that told him to fix this with her, she knew that he was just looking out for her but now he was beginning to prevent her from following her heart
" no in fact I couldn't think of anyone better than my sister for Nick but all I'm saying is know all the facts before you do anything you can't take back ok?" he said before going back into the shop to help a waiting customer
" Rosalee what should I do?" she asked her in a desperate voice, she was more lost than ever. She didn't know what to do about her and Nick
" answer me this, when you and Nick were together last night how did you feel?" she said moving closer to Mia so that Monroe wouldn't hear them talk about these things
" when he held my hand it felt like ever nerve in my hand was on fire and then when he kissed me... oh my god... I thought that I was going to combust!" she said reliving the kiss in her head before remembering she wasn't alone
" then there you go, thats your answer" she said hoping that it was enough to convince her that her and Nick were good a idea, more so if it was going to make her happy
When she got back to school for her afternoon classes she quickly sent a text to nick explaining that it wouldn't work between them and not to come to her place that night like they had planned. As soon as she got home she changed out of her black and green plaid dress with a green waist belt on it into a white tank top, a salmon pink sweater and pink beige shorts. She kicked off her green pumps and throw on a pink watermelon ankle socks, she took out her pins in her hair and let her hair out of its complicated braided up do and placed it into a simple loose braid. She grabbed her cream blanket before putting on her glasses and sitting down to do her mountain of marking that she had to, soon she began to look through her fridge before deciding on ice cream for dinner. A little while laterthere was a knock at the door so Mia put down her red sharpie but took her ice cream with her open door to reveal a surprising guest
"Nick? what are you doing here?" she said taking the spoon out of her mouth, seeing him here made her heart ache slightly knowing that she had already ended things between them before they had even started
" I know you said that this, us, wouldn't work because in my kind has alwas hunted your kind but thats wasn't us ok? we're not like them" he said trying to make her see that they were the exception and not the rule
" yeah I know we are and if we were orphans then it's be perfect because you know for fact that if your mom found out that you're dating a wesen then she'll most likely try to kill me and vis versa for my parents" she said knowing that this was about more than just them as she let him come inside as she put her ice cream down
" true what other reasons do you have to talk yourself out of this?" he said sensing that for reason he had to be couple she had five more not to
" what if the council find out that I am involved with a grimm? they could punish me or worse punish Monroe to teach me a lesson and not even mention what the reapers would do to me or you?" she said beginning to work herself up in a panic as she thought of all the possibilities
" I get it and you know what? there is a lot of reasons why we shouldn't do this but there is one thing you're forgetting" he said as he suddenly got an idea about how to convince her that they should be together
" what?" she said trying to think of something when hr grabbed her waist to pull her closer and began to passionate kiss her as her hands immediately began to explore his hair as he cupped her face in one hand while the other was still on her waist
" what do you think we should do about that?" he said when he finally broke the kiss, he recovered from the kiss a lot faster than Mia who was still a lust filled haze
Instead of answering Mia cupped the side of his face and began to continue their intense make up sessions that seemed like everything but slow and innocent. Soon Mia had enough of just kissing him so she decided to lead him to her bedroom where he lay her down on top of her bed after she had gently tugged on the bottom of his top which he soon took off. Before they knew clothes were beginning to be shed as he took her swear and white, things were soon heating and neither of them showed any sign of stopping anytime soon. Neither of them broke their connection to each other as they spent their first night together, with no thoughts of Juliette clouding his head
