chapter 15: I had me a girl
Due to it being too cold for Mia to go swimming without freezing to death so it meant that her and Nick went on daily runs together in the morning before either or went to work. It was also a way of them spending more together on days where they might not see each other like if he had hard case that would lead to late nights and she was already in bed by time he came home or if she stayed up late because couldn't sleep. Mia wore grey three quarter length sweat pants, a white sport bra, a blue stripe henley tank, a light blue hoodie and a pair of white running shoes. She twisted the front of her hair into a quiff then placed the rest of it into high ponytail, since she was going to be running and getting sweaty she decided no to wear any make up. Although she still wore her necklace with the wolf on it that Nick had given to her for christmas, she hadn't taken it off since he had placed it around her neck. They had decided to run along the path, however soon a simple easy run had turned into a race between them. Then the race had turned into a bet where if Nick won she would need to cook dinner and pick the movie they watched that night but if she won then he would attempt to cook and she would pick whatever bad movie she wanted to without his objects. Nick was beginning to catch up with her when she came to sudden stop and pulled out her phone which had began to ring signalling that someone was calling her, she took out her earphones and pressed the answer button.
" hey Holls….Woah Holly calm down and start from the beginning, what did James do?….. What? Oh my god, are you okay?" she said as her friend from college began to tell her the recent in her life through the phone while Nick caught her up and could immediately tell that something was wrong
" hey what's going on?" he asked as he gently touched her arm to get her attention since he could tell that she was begin to panic, he had only caught the end of her previous sentence
"its Holly, my old college roommate…. umm apparently her boyfriend James and her got into a really bad argument so he hit her…she's freaking out and I don't.." she said beginning to let her emotions get the better of her as reality began to set in, she could handle an attack from wesen or anything bizarre that came her way but this was all too real for her
"ok you need to keep calm for her sake, tell her to come stay with us and that she can't talk to him because he can't know where she is. We can ask her about me getting involved as a cop when she gets here ok?" he says automatically stepping into detective mode as he worked his way through the list of safety procedures that she had to take in order for her to keep safe
" Holls I'm going to send you my address, you're going to stay with me and Nick for a while ok? He's a detective, he can protect you but listen you can't talk to James or have anything to do him got it?….Ok I'll see you soon, just get on the plane!" she said recounting the conversation that she had just had with Nick before ending the call with her friend then began to type in her address to send to Holly
"I'm guessing she's on her way, how did she seem?" he asked wondering if she was going crumble and run back to the guy that had beaten her up in the heat of argument
"she was upset and shaken up but she won't go back to him. Nick…thanks for letting her stay for us, I really means a lot to me" she said slipping her hand into his as she felt her heart grow that little bit more, she loved that he didn't even think twice before offering to help her friend
" its nothing, she couldn't stay there otherwise who know what he would've done to her and there's nowhere safer than with us" he said as he handed her the bottle of water that he had taken for them two of them since he knew at least one of them would be thirst after the run, they began to walk along the path holding hands
" I remember when she first met James in college, I'm not saying he was the nicest of guy or that I always trusted him but I never thought he would do this to her" she said regretting the fact that she never hit him when she got the chance back in college, she knew that he could be sleazy but this was on a whole new level of bad guy
" are you and Holly close? I mean I know you were college roommates" he asked realising that she rarely spoke about her life after the council, he was suddenly curious as to what she was like back then
" college was the first time in years that I actually felt free. Despite the fact I had been out of the council for three years I was always paranoid about them following me or finding me so I applied to colleges in big cities where you could easily lose someone" she said feeling the need to explain why she went there before explainin what she was like or what her relationship with Holly was like
" you realised that they wouldn't find you in a city as big as New York, obviously you were since they made their move when you moved to Portland" he said knowing that she was being sucked into a world filled with memories of her time at college
" as soon as I met Holly I knew she was the exactly opposite of me, she was carefree and fun and really up for anything" she said laughing as she remembered the amount of trouble they would get into while having a girls night out, she couldn't help compare herself to who she was before she met her to who she was now
" you're fun and you're not exactly scared about doing anything or getting involved in my wesen cases or be with a Grimm" he said bumping her shoulder slightly as he gave her a small smile when he referred to the fact that she never hesitated when they first started up for any reasons other than to protect the ones she loved including him
"yeah but only because of Holly, anyways we were best friends the minute we met and with Holly I became this party girl. When we left NYU we decided to get an apartment together since I got a teaching job and she job at the local newspaper " she said as something suddenly occurred to her that never seemed to be that important before the phone call from Holly
" so you were living to her right up until you moved to portland?" he said as they soon came to a more open part of the woods that would soon lead them to Nick's car, they took his car since he refused to go anywhere nears hers claiming it was a death trap in the makings
" yeah and she moved in with James…..if I never took this job in Portland and moved here then she would have been have fine…. this is my fault isn't it?" she asked turning to him as her eyes began to fill up with tears as she thought about the prospect of being the cause of her friend's pain
"hey hey this isn't your fault, you didn't make him hit her and you had no idea that he would do this to her. come here" he said pulling her close to his chest as he gave her a hug and ran his hand through her ponytail to comfort her, she began to relax against him as she breathed in his scent
" but I didn't help matters, there is something you should know about Holly and James. They're wesen, she's Seelengut and he's a Klaustreich which means he's not going to like the fact that she's left him" she said knowing that he would understand what she was getting at, Klaustreich was known for being possessive where as a Seelengut was known for being cowards till a point where they began defend their own
" while she's staying with us I'll just pretend to be a Kehrseite-Schlich-Kennen and not a grimm, don't worry everything will be fine" he said as they began to walk towards the car, Mia began to make a mental list of everything she needed to do before Holly arrived
As soon as she got home from work Mia began to get the guest bedroom ready for Holly to stay in it, she replaced the sheets then made the bed in the way that she knew Holly loved. She then began to make dinner for everyone, she decided to make Nick and Holly normal spaghetti with mince where hers was made with vegetables since she doesn't eat meat. However soon it was beginning to get late and dinner so went by as fast it came and Holly still hadn't arrived, Mia began to worry as it began to get darker she knew that the plane to Portland from New York was 5 hours long give or take a few minutes. Mia had gotten changed out of her work clothes and into a blue lace crop blouse, a white tank top, blue jeans and blue flats. She wore light brown eye makeup with a slight touch of a eyeliner and faint pink lipgloss, her hair was in a long ponytail with a twist near where she had tied in place. Nick had insisted that she wore her glasses when she gave to get a headache from watching the computer screen as it tracked where Holly's plane was, she told her that her and Nick were happy to pick her from the airport but she told them that it was probably safer for just to get a cab which Nick happily agreed to due the circumstances being similar to his father's death. Mia is mid pacing when Nick comes into the living with a freshly brewed teapot filled with chamomile tea on a tray with honey and a cup for her, he could tell that she was beginning to worry and that coffee would only make her worse.
" she should be here by now, I mean her plane landed like hours ago and she's not answering her phone" she said as she paced in front him trying to get through to Holly on the phone before finally giving up and placing it on the table, she picked up her tea cup hoping that the tea might calm her nerves down
" her phone might be out of battery or she might have left it behind, there are a thousand reasons why she might not be picking up and not all of them lead to something bad" he told her trying to appeal to her more reasonable side that might listen to him, he could see that she beginning to panic as she began to bit the side of her lip which she always did when she worried about something or if she was nervous
" what if one of those reasons is that James got to her before she could leave him?" she said as her began to explore the more unappealing reasons of why Holly wasn't there yet, it was something she has prevented herself from doing till now
" then she wouldn't have texted her flight information and what would be the point of him sending a fake text like that?" he asked reminding her that Holly had sent her text letting her know that she was on her way to Portland with all the revelant informations since she knew what Mia could be like
" what if James knows that she's left him?" she said coming up with another conclusion of why she wasn't there yet, her mind was beginning to race with different possible situations none of them were very pretty
" well I'm sure he does by now" he said stating the obvious that Holly's boyfriend probably realised that she had left him when he came home to find not only her missing but also all of her things too, it wouldn't take him long to track Mia down and find them
" wait I think this might be here, yeah this is her" she said as she saw the light of headlights from a cab through the window, she headed out to where the cat had stopped to help Holly out with her bags but also to make sure she was okay
" Mia! Oh my god I'm so glad to see you!" said a red headed female with brown eyes, she wore a pair of jeans with boots and a green sweater. She had her coat resting on the top of her bag, the rest of her things were in the trunk of the cab. Mia and Nick could see the bruise that began to form around her check from where James had hit her
" I know me to, Holly this is Nick and Nick this is Holly. Why didn't call me to tell let me know you were on your way?" she asked as she led her up the steps of the porch where Nick was waiting for them, as soon as they were inside Nick closed the door behind them before locking it and checking if anyone was outside who shouldn't be
"I was going to but I turned my phone off so I wouldn't be tempted to call or answer James" she said placing her bag with the rest them that were laying by the door with her jacket, she pulled her phone out of her pocket to show them that she was telling the truth
"that's good, we don't want him to know where you are ok? we can talk about pressing charges and things like that whenever you're ready ok?" he told her letting her know that they were there for her, he could tell that even at the thought of pressing charges and doing anything that could make James anger made her tearful
" hey you hunger? I left you some of my famous spaghetti with actual meat this time if you want some, I'll heat it for you and maybe get you a glass of wine" she said giving one last hug before heading into the kitchen leaving her and Nick alone, Holly turned her back on Nick as she began to get upset again and soon wogaed in front of him
The next day Mia decided in order to keep Holly busy she would come to work with her since she could talk to her newly acquired english classes that she was covering for a teacher who was off ill, she figured she could tell them all about being a journalist. She wore a yellow body con dress with a peach blazer and yellow platform wedges. She had refined her waves into more defined curls the pined back two sections of her hair at the front, she wore eyeliner to outline her eyelids to make her eyes pop more and wore light pink lipstick. Mia had already texted Nick to arrange to meet him for lunch with Holly later that day since Hank had an appointment with his doctor about the progress he was making with his ankle. Mia and Holly were getting ready for the next class as they drank a fresh cup of coffee, she figured this was the prefect moment to talk about James
" so you know that this kinda goes without saying right but you know that you can't go back to James right? I mean it would only get worse after all this, not better" she said placing a booklet filled with all the articles that Holly had ever written on each desk as well as a sheet on the different styles of writing and one about how to write a successful news article which was going to be their homework
" yeah I know I'm not sure how it all started you know, it was like all of a sudden he began to drinking a lot more then that turned to getting anger a lot more than boom the next thing I know he did this" she said leaning against her desk as she gestured to the bruise that was almost fully hidden behind the make up that they had worked hard on trying to cover it up.
" you should have told me about it as soon as he began to scare you or worry you but I'm guessing thats one of the draw backs of having a boyfriend who's a detective" she said figuring that the reason she hadn't told her anything about it was that she was worried that Nick might get the local police involved
" Nick wasn't the reason I didn't tell you, I didn't want you to feel like you had to move back to New York because I knew you were happy here and I didn't want him to hurt you" she said looking down at the ground as she avoided eye contact with her since she knew that she would be able to figure everything out just by looking at her
" so what are you going to now? I mean you know that you can stay at our place as long as you want" she said not wanting to make it sound like she was kicking her out or anything, she wanted to make sure that she was putting a plan in place so that there was no chance that she could got back to him
" well before you know it happened I already sent in my resume into a few newspapers including ones in Portland so hopefully I hear back then I'll start looking at apartments and try to get back who I used to be" she said taking a sip from her mug as she hugged it close her, when she realised how much he had made change from the girl who make Mia do things like body shots and dance on tables
" you mean the girl that used to be the life of the party and would have never let a guy do this to her, good because I miss her" Mia said walking over to where Holly was to pull her in for a hug as the bell rang to signal the next class was about to come in as the classroom slowly filled with student curious about the mystery guest in the room
Later that day Holly and Mia were waiting at the restaurant where they had agreed to meet Nick and were currently waiting for him while Holly insisted that Mia gave her a run down of everything had been happening between her and Nick, she tried her best while missing out all the wesen related details that might lead to her figuring out that he was a wesen. They were currently drinking coffee since they had go back to work that afternoon to talk to more classes but also Holly was helping her out in her history classes since she rarely saw Mia in teacher mode and found it highly amusing when she gave people into trouble.
" so have you and Nick had the awkward wesen talk yet or are you still hiding that side of you?" Holly asked as she took a sip of her water as she looked through the menu to decide what to have when Nick finally got there
" actually we didn't need to have that talk since he already knew about me, I mean he was friends with Monroe and Rosalee before he met me and they already him about them being wesen" she said skimming out on the details while also keeping to the truth is that is what happened, she kept the information about him being able to see wesen woga to herself
" what about the whole council thing?" she asked wondering if that was still her biggest fear or if something had happened to change that since she noticed that she no longer flinched whenever anyone mentioned them
" actually I saw Alex a few months ago then I was ordered to go to Venice where I trained with the council back in the day, long story short I told them to leave me alone otherwise things would get ugly for them… oh and Alex tried to kiss before I slapped him" she said giving her a smile before taking a sip of water as she began to laugh as she saw the look on Holly's face, it was one of pure shock and amusement all in one
" what? how? what?" she asked not sure what to ask first as Nick chose that moment to join them as he gave Mia a small hug and kiss to say hi before sitting in the empty chair next to her, he rested his arm on the back of her chair as he realised that they were in the middle of something
" hey sorry I'm late… whats going on?" he asked as he watched them both burst out laughing knowing that they were going to need to continue this some other time where Mia would spill all the details about the council and Alexander, not that there was much to tell
" nothing we were… talking about the old times in college and she had brought one very unfortunate mistake with glitter and body paint" she said coming up with a convincing lie to cover up what they were actually talking about as they began to laugh more when the memory cam to them including an image of Mia covered in glitter and paint from head to toe
" oh really? do I even want to know?… so how are you doing?" Nick asked Holly since it seemed that she was doing much better than she arrived last night, although he figured that she might be putting on a brave face for them
" good actually thanks to you two, I mean being with Mia today has taught me that I need to move on with my life without him" she said trying to not to look weak in front of them, she knew ti was going to be tough to leave him but she knew it was necessary
" good because you know its far too risky for you to of back to him, its a good thing you got out when you did or who knows what he would've done to you" Nick said trying to reassure her that she had done the right thing in leaving James behind when she did, he could remember cases of domestic abuse that gotten so worse that it lead to a spouse being killed or badly damaged both mentally and physically
"although it lead to one good thing, us being back together" Holly said raising her glass to Mia in a mock toast, she knew in reality it had only been 6 months or so since she had last seen her but it felt like it had been a lot longer than that
"it sorta feels like we're back in the dorm, right? yeah well except for Nick, of course." Mia said feeling that she was slipping back to the girl she used to be with Holly, she was used to being different things to different people like Holly's party buddy
"I actually kinda wish he'd been there, I mean maybe he could have stopped us from doing some of things we did" she said refereeing to the times where they were doing things that were barely legal like sneaking into a class lab to hand in a paper or vandalise someones car for the latest protest
" why do I get the feeling that two got to some amount of trouble back in college?" he said laughing as he watched them to interact he knew this was one of those rare times where she let her guard down and where he got to learn more about her
" like I said I took advantage of being lost in the big city, I mention that sometimesI went overboard like that time when I did the street art wall mural thing in protest of people testing on rats and other animals" she said shocking him since he figured she was type of people that would rather saying something than demonstrate it for all to see
" you didn't? please say you have pictures of that?" he asked as she lay her head on his shoulder as she nodded since she still had the newspaper article on about the artwork she left on the side of the labs where they tested products
" and you should have seen some of the guys she was with or should I say the guys that were interested in you like…"she said teasing her as she pretended to reveal some of her secrets but she knew that Mia barely got involved with guys at college, although that didn't mean she wouldn't flirt with them
" Hey! Wow. You... need to stop like now, before you give away all of my secrets" Mia said giving her a look before letting another laugh as she took a sip of her water, she knew that she had never done anything that bad in college
"Im going to take that as my cue to go to the ladies room, order for me" Holly said taking her bag with her so that she could freshen herself up and touch up the make up that was covering up the bruise on her cheek, leaving Nick and Mia alone at the table
Later night when Mia and Holly got home they opened a bottle of wine and began to make dinner for Nick coming home. However Mia soon realised that Nick must be working late on a case when he didn't come home by seven so she covered up his dinner as her and Holly began to reminisce about all the things they got up to in college and after. After a difficult day at work Nick came home to find Mia and Holly laughing and singing to the music that was playing loudly as they washed and dried the dishes in the kitchen. He took off his coat and took a minute to collect his thoughts, his latest case taking its toll on him. Mia knew almost immediately that something was wrong with Nick when he didn't come into the kitchen right away so she politely excused herself to Holly then went towards the door where she saw Nick sitting on the couch with his head in his hands as he tried to compose himself. She walked over to him to sit next to him and began to rub his back as she tried to comfort him
" hey want tell me what has you so wore out?" she said trying to find a word that described how he was and looked, she could tell that something was clearly bothering him but just didn't know what it was or how to properly help him
"its nothing, I just had a rough case today and I guess its getting to me a little" he said raising his head slightly so that he could glance at the side and see her face, Mia gently kissed his shoulder then lay her head on his shoulder hoping that it would bring him some comfort
" want talk about it? I might be able to help" she said still rubbing his back gently, she could tell that he was beating him up over whatever had happened during his case that day while her and Holly were working in the school teaching the teenagers
" its a long story but there was this guy from Russia who used to kill people for a group called the FSB till he decided to use his wesen abilities to heal people with life threaten diseases. In the end he died trying to save the woman who wanted him dead" he said sitting back so that he could see her better, he liked that for once he was the one with issue and she was the one filled with happiness and life since it seemed to agree with her
"he was trying to do some good to make up for the bad things he had done in the best, it almost doesn't seem fair does it?" she said knowing that in some cases people would be glad that assassins like him were dead but this seemed like one of those rare cases where bad outweighed the good, more people were going to dead without his help
"yeah something like that, I'm sorry I'm ruining the fun you were having with Holly" he said pulling her into a hug so that her head was resting on his chest, he needed her to be close to him so that he could breath in the scent that was surrounding her hair
" no you're not, why don't you come and join us? we left you some dinner" she said taking his hand as she pulled him off the couch and towards the kitchen where Holly was still doing the dishes and dancing away like there was no one around
" so how was your day?" Nick asked as he leaned against the door as he watched Mia head over to the sink where she began to help Holly with the dishes again, feeling bad that she had just left her guest to do all the work while she kinda took a break
" yeah it was good, Holly came to work with me which was fun even with the teenagers and their smart comments" she said grabbing the open bottle of open and a glass out of the cabinet above to pour Nick a glass of wine since she knew that he needed it after the day he had had
" yeah I talked to her english classes about being a journalist and how to write article that captivated the readers with the first line" Holly said leaning against the sink as she turned to face them both as she watched Nick happily accept the glass of wine
" so you had a good day then?" he asked knowing that with domestic abuses victims that all it took sometimes was a glimpse of life without the abuse to give them the strength to keep going
" yeah it reminded me why I feel in love with writing and journalism in the first place, guys I know that I'm putting you in an awkward position and that I'm in the way but-" she began to say knowing that she would putting them in the firing line in James found her with them, she was about to say sorry when Mia interrupted her
" stop it, I've already told you that you're not in the way. Nick tell her she's welcome here, I'll go and grab my phone….James she's not with me and I don't where she is… not you're not listening to me, I don't know where she went" she said waving to Nick to get his attention as they both began to walk to where she was in the living by the stairs, Nick gestured to her to give him her phone
" let me talk to him…..Hi James, Its Mia's boyfriend Nick. listen you don't want to do this…right now I'm talking to you man to man but if you keep going the way you're going then I'll talking to you as a detective…. he hung up" he said handing Mia back her phone when he was sure that James had gone, he looked to Holly to find her terrified at the thought that he had found her
"does he know I'm here?" she asked thinking that she had to run upstairs to pack her bags so that she could head somewhere new before he had time to find her again
" no I'm sure he's calling all of you're friends and that he probably called Mia because he knew how close you are but there's no way he's know that she moved here" he said knowing that Mia had told her Holly that she had moved into her old apartment but not that she had moved into Nick's house or where it was
"if he knows I'm Mia then it won't be long before he finds me! Mia you know he's like, you know he's not normal" she said trying to stress the hidden meaning but she also knew that he wasn't going to just let her go without a fight, she was stupid if she thought otherwise
"then we'll deal with him and anything that he has to throw at us ok? I promise you Holly, you're safe here" he said trying to reassure her once again that he was going to everything he could to prevent her being hurt by James again
The next day Holly had an interview with the Portland Press Herald so Mia drove her before heading to work, Holly promised that she would grab a cab back to the house and to text Mia when she got home safely. When Mia got home from work she found Holly sitting at the dining table with her laptop searching something online while drinking coffee like it was going out of fashion, reminding her of all the times she had came to the dorm from class to find her stressing out about an essay. Mia was wearing a cream skirt with a blue floral pattern, a navy silk blouse, cream heels, a navy biker jacket and a cream bag. Mia had created two braids on each side of her head while the rest of hair was pulled into a ponytail, her eye make up was light with a tough of brown eyeshadow and eyeliner with light pink lipstick and dark pink lipliner. She wore her glasses and her wolf necklace. She decided to start making dinner for when Nick came home that night, all day she had played with the idea of telling Holly about Nick being a Grimm since she knew that it would reassure her faith in him after they convinced her that he wouldn't cut her head off. Soon Nick came home to find Holly still on the computer searching for apartments in Portland and a very nervous Mia frantically making dinner as something was playing on her mind
" want tell me whats going on in that head of yours?" he said leaning against the counter next to where she was making a stir fry for them all, she was making it without meat since it was one of those meals where you didn't really miss the meat
"I want to tell Holly that you're a Grimm, it will convince her that you can take care of James despite the fact that he's a Klaustreich" she said already knowing what his reaction was going to be, as she headed to the fridge to get some more ingredients to put into the stir fry
"we can't, it will only make her run and right now we need to be able to watch her in case James finds her" he said knowing that it must be hard for her to keep lying to her best friend but knew it was necessary to keep Holly safe
" Nick I can't do this, I can't keep lying to her . Yesterday she was asking me if you knew about me being blutbaden and I lied right to her face, I've never done that before" she said keeping her voice low so that Holly wouldn't hear them, she knew that she had to tell and not have her finding her own or by accident
" I know its hard but its what we need to do to keep her safe, she'll only be here a little while longer then things will return to whatever normal is for us" he said placing his hands on her arms trying to comfort as he watched her battle the conflicting thoughts in her head
" Holly, can you come here for a second?" she called from the kitchen as she closed her eyes so that she wouldn't see Nick as he protested to what she was about to do, she knew this was something that she had do no matter what he said or did to stop her
" Mia you can't do this, it will cost way too much harm than good!" he said in a whispered shout as Holly walked into the kitchen, trying to work out what was going on between the couple who were obviously in the middle of something
" Holls do you remember when you asked me if Nick knew I was blutbaden and I said that he was basically a Kehrseite-Schlich-Kennen. Well I lied, Nick's a Grimm but he's completely different from what we were told they were like" she said trying to stress the fact that he wasn't going to kill her as she began to woga into a sheep like wesen as she backed up towards the fridge trying to get away from Nick
"no no no no, Mia we need to go! he's going to kill us!" she said running through the dinning room trying to get to the door before Nick could catch up to her, Holly thought that Mia was behind her however Mia stayed in the kitchen wondering what to do
" its okay I've got her…..Holly its okay I'm not going to hurt, I'm the same Nick that you've been living with the past few days" he said as he suddenly saw Holly's eyes grow wider as he turned around to see a man who he assumed to be James, James punched Nick causing him to fall to the ground
" Mia help me! James is here!" Holly shouted before running away from him as she headed back into the kitchen she figured it would two against one, however James managed to grab her arms causing them to wrestle for a minute before Mia came into the living room
" hey, get off of her James!" she said as she tried to loosen his grip on Holly which she was able to do allowing Holly to run away from him a little, however James soon became annoyed by Mia's efforts to save herself so he grabbed her by the arms and threw her into a nearby table
" you're coming back home to me, where you belong Holly!" he said once he had better hold on her as he had his arms wrapped right around her in a tight grip, Mia managed to get up and began to woga before she jumped onto his back causing him to let her go as he tried to shake Mia off of him
" get out of my house and leave my best friend alone you creeper!" she said as she began to hit her off of his then began to tight her grip around his neck as he began to slam her into the walls and cabinets in the kitchen

" yeah that particular parlour trick has no effect on me" she said as she began to kick him in his special area, once he was down Mia began to kick him to make sure he would stay down. However as he tried to get up Holly hit him on the head with a glass vase that was in the dinning room
"oh god a Grimm! please don't kill me, all I wanted was my girlfriend back!" he said once he saw Nick's eyes as he came into the kitchen with his gun already drawn and focused on him, he began to back away from him. Mia took this chance to bring Holly closer to her so that she could make sure she was okay
" I don't think its me you got to worry about" Nick said referring to Mia and Holly who had pretty much taken him down on their own as he grabbed his hand and placed them behind his back so that he could cuff him
" wait… we're done and I never want to see you again!" Holly said pulling together all the strength she could so that he would know that she was serious, she knew that this was the chance she had been waiting for to rid herself of him for once and all
"and if does ever see you again then you'll have me to deal with…. babe I'll be back in bit ok?" he said pausing when he walked past Mia, he bent down and gave her a small kiss on her head before he continued to walk to James to his car while he muttered his pleas for him not to kill him
" thank you for that, you were right about Nick and James….Im so sorry" she said as she began to cry more out of relief that she had finally free of him than anything else
" hey you're not the one that needs to say sorry, come here….anything is going to be okay got it?" she said as she pulled her into a hug as they both returned back to normal as they let themselves begin to relax after everything that had just happened
" so you and a grimm huh?" she said making them both laugh after a really tense situation, Mia was glad that she had her best friend back in her life and that she didn't need to hide anything from her anymore
