hey guys so here is the last chapter of season 3 and of this story because I am going to create a new story for my version of season 4 which will be complete different from the shows season 4 as you can probably tell from this chapter. There is a lot in this chapter that has been changed from the actual episode so I hope you still love it as you guys as have. chapter 23: D'arline
After Mia had her breakdown about being pregnant with Nick's baby, Rosalee decided that it was probably best that Mia stay with them that night rather than driving back to her house in the middle of the night while she was still upset. Once Mia was calm enough to talk to Rosalee about things it was clear that she wanted to keep the baby and she was happy about it if not slightly worried about how other people were going to deal with this new turn of events, she figured her crying spree was a part of her way of dealing with the news and letting it all sink in. She decided that she would wait till after the wedding to tell Nick about the baby since she didn't want to take the attention away for Monroe and Rosalee's wedding with her news, she knew that it was also her way of avoiding telling her parents about the baby while they were in town since she wasn't sure how they would take it after their reactions of her being with Nick in the first place. Mia had been trying to act as normally as she could without giving Nick any reason to think that there was something going with her, although every time she declined a cup of coffee Nick began to wonder and ask questions but she soon made up excuses like she didn't want to running on caffeine so close to the wedding. Mia and Nick had both took the day of the wedding rehearsal off so that were able to help Rosalee and Monroe with setting everything up before the actually rehearsal, they were all dressed slightly more formal than required for a wedding rehearsals since the rehearsal dinner was right after it. Mia wore a red midi dress that covered most of her chest, a black tweed jacket with bead detailing, a red square clutch and black heels. Mia had grabbed random sections of her hair before pinning them at the back so that they created a slimly messy look while leaving the rest of her long brown hair wavy, she created brown smoky eye makeup and wore red glossy lipstick. They were currently standing at their places at the alter as they ran through what would happen tomorrow at the wedding as Nick wore his sunglasses as part of their plan to hide his grimness
"now with powers invested in me by the state of Portland Oregon I now pronounce you man and wife or if you prefer husband and wife, and then we go in for the kiss or I should say the two of you go in for the kiss. To which I will announce you to the guests and then you can live a happy married life. Do you plan on wearing sunglasses during the ceremony tomorrow?" the minister asked Nick since it seemed weird to her that he would them inside at someone's wedding, everyone become more alert as they tried to cover themselves and Nick with a story
"oh you know I have this thing with my eyes-"he began to say as he looked to Monroe to see if he was on the right tracks or not with their story since he hadn't thought about coming up a detailed story
" yeah no he has to wear them, its like a light sensitive issue that if he didn't wear them it could cause…" Monroe said interrupting Nick so that he could fill in the details that he couldn't before giving Rosalee a look to ask for help on the medical side of things as he trailed off the end
" a retinitis situation.." she said continuing his sentence as Mia begin to think of something to add to their story, wishing that they had thought about someone asking questions about him wearing sunglasses at wedding
" yeah he has really weak corneas which means he has to have some form of protect…." she said trailing off at the end of her sentence when she realised that everyone else in the room was beginning to add in their two cent as they became a mass of reasons as to why he needed to wear them
"fine he keeps the glasses, whatever you want. So do you want to go over it again?" she asked bringing it back to the wedding as she checked that everyone understood what was going to happen tomorrow as well as everyone knew their part in the wedding
"no I think we're good" Monroe said as he looked around the room to see if anyone had an issue with any of the details of the wedding that they had discussed so far, he was still stunned that they were all able to be in the same without someone starting an argument or a fight between them all
" well then I'll see you tomorrow and enjoy your dinner tonight" she said as she gathered her things to leave as Monroe turned to Nick to comfort his worries while Rosalee decided now was the perfect time to talk to Mia about things while they waited for their dining area to be ready
" Mia, why don't I show you where we will be getting ready and stuff before the wedding? that way you'll know where to go tomorrow when you get here" she said as Mia began to follow her as she tried to work out what was going on, more so when Rosalee gestured for DeEtta to stay with everyone else
" if this what I think its about then drop it Rosalee, this is all about you and Monroe and so not about me and my issues right now ok?" she said once Rosalee and her were in the room, she was still aware that she hadn't closed the door yet so she avoided saying the word baby in case of listening ears that might be lingering around
"I know you don't want to steal the focus or attention away from us but don't you think that Nick and the others deserve to know why aren't you drinking the wine tonight or drinking the drink that you called a miracle cure for just about everything?" she said wondering how she was going to cover up all of that without someone suspecting something, Rosalee felt that this was her way of avoiding dealing with the fallout that came with her pregnancy
" yeah they do but I'm still going to be pregnant after the wedding so really whats the harm in telling them then before they all go home? I promise you I will tell them" she said with a smile in hopes that it would reassure that she was believe that was everything was fine, she didn't want to Rosalee anything new to worry about other than the wedding
"ok but promise me that you will at least tell Nick before the wedding like tonight after dinner? or are you still worried about things like the baby's DNA and people's reactions?" she asked her as she sat down on the chair next to the mirror before she gestured for Mia to join her, she could tell that Rosalee was just worried about her like any sister would be
" I'll think it about it, I don't want to worry him when he already stressed about things running smoothly at the wedding. And yeah I can't exactly say that I haven't been wondering who he or she will take after and honestly I'm not sure that whats possibly or not, like is it possible for it to be both?" she asked Rosalee knowing that there was no one who knew more about wesen folklore and wesen fact like the whole reproductive thing, she knew that it was usually the more dominate gene but what happened when they were both dominate?
" maybe although if it were then its wesen side might not be tapped into until they hit puberty like every other wesen but then again they might get their wesen abilities and woga early. Its hard to say but either way this baby will one of a kind" she said with a smile as she looked down at Mia's currently flat stomach where her baby was safe and sound, it was the first time she really realised that was her niece or nephew in there
" yeah and we both known that one of a kind is sometimes code for wanted right? I know Nick will protect us but I hate the thought of not being able to defend myself you know and I can't fight with six month pregnant belly" she said with the chuckle at the thought of her fighting with whoever as she wobbled around the place like an egg, she knew it was useless to try and dangerous
"not just Nick, we'll all do whatever we can to make sure that you're safe and deep down you know that" Rosalee said knowing that none of them would be just allow someone to do something to them, Mia was family even before Monroe had proposed to her
" yeah thats true and I promise I will tell Nick soon….Rosalee despite my meltdown I am happy about this and hey you get be aunt Rosalee a lot sooner than we both thought" she said as she placed a hand over her stomach where her baby was, it was the first she had really thought about the fact there was someone growing in there and sooner than she thought there would be a baby
" and as the only one that knows right know I am calling regular babysitting rights and as its only but favourite aunt I am going to spoil this baby rotten" she said making them both laugh as they get up from their and head back into the room where everyone was beginning to sit down for dinner, Mia and Rosalee enter the room with an arm around the other as they continued to laugh and smile about it
Throughout dinner Nick tried to work out what was going on with Mia, first she had refused her daily cup of coffee that morning then she poured herself a glass of water rather than accept a glass of the wine that she had helped pick especially for tonight. There was also little things that he had picked up on like the way she would smile to herself when she thought no one was looking or the way that she would close down tabs on her computer whenever he came near or the way she had been making lists then tearing them up. Anyone who didn't know as well as he did might over look these things and chalk up to him just being paranoid but he knew better. However he figured he'd wait and give her a chance to come to him before he asked about it. Near the end of dinner Bart got up from her chair and began to signal that he was about to make a speech
" as you may know when we first met Rosalee, we had some issues and I'd like to take this opportunity to take this moment to publicly apologise to Rosalee and my son who I must admit made us see things in ways I didn't think were possible. Which leads me to extend an apology to Nick, a grimm who taught me that this world does move in mysterious ways and for showing me that no one would love or protect my daughter more than him. And finally to my wife Alice and my daughter Mia who refused to let me do things to our family would've been hard to come back from. I want to wish Monroe and Rosalee a happy wedding and long happy mysterious life together" he said as everyone said some form of cheers as they raised their glasses as Mia wiped a tear from her cheek as Rosalee gave her a knowing smile
"did you really just say that?" his wife said knowing that it took a lot of guts on his side of things to admit that he was wrong in front of everyone as she leaned closer to him as she took a sip of her wine
" yeah I did and I meant every word" he said as he gave his wife a kiss as he considered everything he could have lost if he had had his way, he would never have been able to walk his daughter down the aisle or see if his future grandchildren or share happy moments like this
"I would just like to say a few words as Rosalee's maid of honour and her sister in law to be which brings me to my connection to this wedding as Monroe's his sister. When we growing as kids me and Monroe would talk about what we wished our lives would be like once we were adults, we usually said the normal things kids say like driving a car and being able to drink when we want. A couple of years ago when he was visiting me I asked him again what he wished his life was like and he said to be in control and with a woman who loved him deeply and was everything he wasn't a the time. Trying to be cute I asked him yesterday the same question and he said he didn't need to keep wishing his life away because his reality was much better wishes. That's how I know that you two are so met to be" Mia said as she raised her glasses to the happy couple before taking a sip of her water as she sat back down on her chair next to Nick who took hold of her hand again
" Mia, thank you that was a beautiful speech" Rosalee said pulling her in for hug after giving her a kiss on the cheek, she knew that Mia meant every word of speech that she saw the sister she never had but had always wanted
" thanks, I thought it would different me just telling once more how happy I am that you're going to become my sister which Im sure you're bored of hearing" she said as they pulled a part, Mia wiped the tears that threatened to spill out with her finger being careful of her makeup as she thought the hormones were already beginning to affect her
Mia then leaned her head onto Nick shoulder with his arm around her and that was where she remained till everyone decided to head home to get a good nights rest before the wedding tomorrow, most of the guest like her parents and Rosalee's family were staying with Monroe and Rosalee since they figured things might be awkward at their place with two grimm who live there. Nick could tell that Mia was beginning to get sleepy which he chalked up to stress of the wedding as they headed up the porch stairs, Mia was huddled into Nick as they wondered up towards the door, Just then Mia lifted her head as she tried to figure out what she was smelling.
" do you smell smoke?" Mia asked now the alert as she pulled away from Nick to see if there were any signs of a fire near by in their neighbour hood but she couldn't find any signs of flickers of flames or clouds of smoke
" yeah I do, I think its coming from inside" he said as he caught the scent before quickly unlocking the door pushing the door open to see a lot of smoke coming from the kitchen as they both headed to see what was going on in the kitchen
" Trubel?…. Trouble!….oh my god!" she said as her and Nick walked into the kitchen to see the smoke was coming from a pan that was on fire that Trubel was using to make what looked like bacon before it had cremated, she briefly wondered if bad cooking skills were a grimm thing or maybe a distant relative thing
"I'm sorry, I'm really really sorry!" Trouble said over and over again as she tried to contain the fire with little success as she stepped back from the pan to allow Nick and Mia take control of the fire as he placed a pan lid on top to let the fire die down safely
" Mia open a window and the door, get back" he said to both of them as Mia began to open the kitchen window as far as it could go before grabbing a tea towel to clear the smoke away from the smoke alarm while Trubel began to fan the door open and close to rid the room of smoke
"I'm sorry I was just trying to cook something" she said feeling bad that she was creating more mess and Trubel for them when she was just trying to something nice but sh knew that Mia and Nick weren't the kind of people to hold it against her
" Its ok, there was no harm done" he said trying to reassure her as he tried to stop the fire of spreading and tried to help it go out faster as he turned down the heat on the stove and glanced at Mia to check that she was ok which he knew was irrational since he was the one nearest to the fire but still it was a fear that was at the back of his mind
"yeah this kitchen has been through worse, Nick once almost burnt the house down when he tired to cook me a birthday dinner. I'm still not totally how it happened or what it was meant to be" she said with a smile as the fire alarm finally turned off so she headed into the kitchen to put the tea towel away as she finally took her jacket off and decided to put away their things like his jacket and her purse
" it was kind hard to tell what it was when I was down with it, needless to say we went out that night and Mia's been trying to teach me how to cook ever since" he said as he took the pan over to the sink now that the flames were more controllable as he turned the water on as he opened the lid so that the water could get to the last few flames
"I was just trying to cook you guys something for when you came in" Trubel said finally admitting that she wasn't trying to do it for herself but them as a way to say thank you to them for one letting her stay but also for trusting her to stay in their house by herself, even if she did almost burn the house down
"aww thats sweet, what were you trying to make?" Mia said as checked how Nick was doing on the fire as she kissed his shoulder before grabbing the plate of brownies that she had recently made from the fridge as she placed them on the counter as she took one and gestured for Trubel to help herself
"bacon and eggs, if it worked then I was going to make breakfast but I never really made it past the bacon" she said knowing that Mia was the one who always made breakfast and dinner for them, even lunch sometimes if she was in or felt that they needed something to eat. She thought that with everything else Mia would need to deal with tomorrow, cooking would one less thing on her to do list
"I totally get it, I mean I never have any bacon left since Im addicted to the stuff and I don't mind making breakfast tomorrow. In fact I might even make pancakes with all the best toppings" she said as she looked into the fridge to check if they had all the things that they needed like more bacons and strawberries which is what she really wanted
"by the way I'll need your help tomorrow, we have something important to do" he said as he took the bottle of beer that Mia was offering him and Trubel which is when he noticed that she didn't get one for herself like she usually did but figured she wanted a clear head for the morning
"really? what?" she said taking a sip of her beer as she watched Mia decrease in height as she began to take her heels off since her feet and ankle were beginning to get sore, it was time she had actually noticed how small she was without her heels that she usually wore
" we're going to move the trailer, too many people know where it is and its been in that lot for way too long" he said realising that it had been in that lot for almost four years since he had first moved it there when he had gotten in from her aunt Marie and decided to move it away from his house
"is Mia helping us or is it just us?" she asked wondering when they were going to find the time to do it before the wedding since she knew they couldn't afford to be late for it as he was the best man and she was the maid of her honour
" no I'm not I have too much to do like get my hair and nails done before I head to the wedding venue again but I wish I could… do you guys mind if I go bed just now?" she said yawning as accidentally evidence that she was tired and ready for bed as she ate the last bite of her brownie
" yeah of course babe, I'll be up in a minute ok?" he said as he gave her a hug and kissed her on the top of her head before she began to walk up the stairs to their bedroom where she took a much need shower
The morning Mia woke to her phone buzzing like crazy on her bedside table, she skipped through her many new texts to see that they were about the fact that DeEtta had gotten drunk the night before when she drunkly put on her grandmother's wedding dress that Rosalee was meant to wear at her wedding and spilled her bottle of wine all over it. She sat up in bed so that she could text Rosalee back to tell her that she had a friend who owned a bridal shop and told her that she would pull a few favours for her to get a dress from her shop. Mia then got dressed into a pair of ripped boyfriend jeans, a distressed grey N.Y top and a pair of her grey converse. She decided to push all of her hair into a high ponytail and left it naturally wavy so that it was out of her way, she wore light eye makeup and natural pink lips since she was going to redo her make up later for the wedding. When she came downstairs she found a note taped to the fridge door that told her that Nick and Trubel had already headed out to deal with the trailer, just then her phone began to ring as a picture of Nick's captain flashed on the screen
" Hey Sean, if you're calling looking for Nick then his phone is out of reception area and he has the day of my brother's wedding so no case for him" she said without giving him a chance to talk as she headed into the kitchen where she made herself a cup of decaf tea and then began to make some toast since she had heard it was good for morning sickness
" actually I'm not calling about Nick, believe it or not I was calling for you. I still have an informant inside the Royals" he said hoping that would get her attention like he knew it would, he had tried his hardest to put off making this call in hopes that something had changed but after making sure that his intel was correct he knew that had to make it sooner rather than later
" ok and what does that have to do with me?" she said now on the alert as she considered all the reason why he might be calling her to tell this and realised that none of those reasons pointed to anything good for her, Nick or their baby
"according to my guy Victor's been working with someone from the council, apparently this council person has been giving him all of the files they have on you and just you" he said in a tone that told Mia he was concerned about this and that he was worried about her which only sent the shiver down her back that bit faster than normal
" meaning he thinks or knows it was me at the baby jacking, did your guy say who Victor was working with from the council? I mean I've pissed a lot people off over there throughout the years" she said as she tried to calm the fear that was bubbling inside of her as she tried to think of anyone from the council who would go against De groot and work with the royals like this
" no, he just said it had to be someone close to De groot from the amount of information he was able to get on you. Mia, I'm telling you this as a friend who worried about what Victor might do to you to get to my daughter" he said knowing that she was one of the strongest women he had ever met before but he wondered what she would be like once Victor and his men got a hold of her
"Sean… no matter what he does to me or whatever I'm not going to give her whereabouts up, trust me when I say that holding up against torture was just one of the many lessons I picked up during my time with the council. Thanks for the heads up Sean" she said before hanging up the call as she took a bit of her toast as she considered what her next move should be, just as an idea popped into her head her phone began to ring again only this time it was Adalind
" hi Mia its Adalind but I'm guessing you already know that and you probably know why I'm calling" she said in a no messing tone which was all Mia needed in that moment, she realised it was matter of time before she got a call like this from her
" yeah my guess is that Victor over played his hand and tipped you off that he wasn't the one who has Diana, either that or you want to wish my brother a happy wedding day" she said an almost bitter tone that pretty much summed up her morning so far as she tried to work out why this was all happening now, today
" something like that, I was wondering if you had time before the wedding so that we could talk?" she said in a delicate tone that made Mia began to question the meaning behind this call, she could feel her mind become numb as she tried to work it all out
"Adalind if this some ploy to hand me over to Victor or-" she began to say as she rubbed her her temples with her hand as she tried to clear her mind to figure out what her game plan was here, she knew that if she really thought she and now her unborn child were in danger then she would need to tell Nick
" its not that, after everything Victor has done to me I would never work with him and I have no reason to if he doesn't have Diana. I just want to talk to you and if you want we can even meet in a public place with lots of witnesses" she said knowing that she was going to have to show some soft of good faith if she was going to convince her to meet her so that they could talk about things
" fine I'll meet you at the Starbucks on Taylor street…and Adalind I swear if this is a trap you are so not going to like my bad side" she said before hanging up as she quickly texted Nick that she was going to meet Adalind and that she would fill him on everything that she knew so far, then grabbed her denim jacket and grey bag as she headed to car
After a few minutes of just sitting in her car watching the area to see if there was anything out of place like an unusual cars in the area or if there was anyone on more alert then normal for people on the street but she came up blank and decided to head into the cafe where she could see Adalind was since she was sitting by the window with a large cup of streaming hot coffee. Mia head in then went to the counter to order a decaf coffee with some caramel syrup in as well as a triple chocolate muffin that looked really good then asked them to sent over to the table where Adalind was sitting as she began to walk over to her. She could tell that Adalind was still having a hard time coming to terms with everything, Mia knew that this could be her new reality which was one of the many new possibilities due to the new turn of events in her life
"I'm glad you came, you were right about Victor over playing his hand…. he pretended to have my daughter so that I could perform the Verfluchte Zwillingsschwester on Nick and then fly to Vienna to be with her" she said giving her the details that would be most important to Mia before getting to the details that were important to her
"he wanted to take his grimm powers away and sleep with him as me? where does Diana fit into all of this?" she said wondering why she was telling her that but figured that if she was going to go through with it then she wouldn't give her a head up before ruining her relationship with Nick
" I asked him for picture of her to make sure she was ok and he stumbled then eventually made some excuse that he couldn't any picture because she was too young and might hurt her eyes. I knew then that he didn't have her" she said with detest as she remember the urge to get revenge on her was greater then her revenge to get back at Nick for taking her powers
" which leaves the resistance and or us right?" she asked no wanting to give anything away before she decided whether or not this act of hers was for real or not, she didn't want implant them and give her even more reason to take Nick's powers away than she already had
" yeah pretty much and the way I look at it Nick's mom was working for the resistance but I seriously she would trust anyone to take her and the timing of everything fits together perfectly. Mia I don't want any trouble, just want my daughter back I mean surely you can understand that" she said trying to appeal to her more nurturing side that had lead her to work with children and teenagers in the first place as her coffee and muffin came
" trust me I understand more than I would have a week ago, everything was planned the moment Nick's mom was arrested. Everyone minus Rosalee carjacked Victor and his men at the airport before they could get on the plane, I spoke german to convince them we were the restitance. Once we had her, Kelly took her in the trunk we found and we don't know where she is but they're safe…here" she said as she got her phone out and began to look through her photos as she passed it to Adalind so that she could see the few photos she had of Diana from the one emails Kelly sent her
" oh wow she is getting so big…not that I am complaining but why are you telling me the truth?" she asked knowing that Nick and others wouldn't do the same if they were in her place, they would keep up the story that they had created
"lets just say if I were in your situation then I would want someone would do what I just did and we don't have any bad blood between us like you have with the others. Plus something tells me we're about to have a common enemy"she said as she fixed her t-shirt as it was beginning to feel a bit tight but she knew it was her imagination since it was a little too early for that
" Victor? he worked out who you were?" she asked as she took a sip from her coffee cup as she began to think about how different Mia was different to the other and especially Juliette who would reacted completely different towards her than Mia did
" yeah and more, someone from my past who works inside the council is working with him so he has every single details about me and the time I spent there" she said trying to show her that she was strong rather admitting how scared she was inside since there was more than just her safety at risk now
" do you know who?" she asked knowing that if she knew who it was then they could deal with them to stop them from further helping and working with Victor before they could anymore damage to her and the ones she loved
"I have my guesses but if its who I think it is then he's too smart to leave a trail for me to follow or should he knows me better to leave one. I just need to know if you would be willing to help me out with Victor with whatever it is I need to do and in exchange I can help you get Diana back or at least I can try" she said as she began to use her phone so that she could send Adalind the photos she had of her daughter as a sign of good faith
" yeah I'll help, I'd hate for another baby to grow up with its mother… I can tell the signs by now, no matter what happens I'll be in your corner ok?" she said thinking that this might be the first time Hexenbiest and Blutbaden have ever made a deal to be allies, she picked up her bag and began to leave after placing a comforting hand on Mia's shoulder
After her meeting with Adalind, Mia went to get her hair and nails done before picking something up from a shop window that she just couldn't resist since it was the cutest thing she had seen in while plus it had put a smile on face which she didn't think was possible with everything she had just found out within last few hours. When she eventually got home she grabbed her pink unicorn makeup bag and things then headed to the bathroom that was connected to hers and Nick's bedroom, she got changed out of her clothes into a matching set of mint green lace underwear as well as her purple robe that she loosely tied around her waist as she began to get ready for the wedding after she put some music on via her phone on the docking station in their bathroom. Nick followed the sound coming from their bathroom as he noticed the neatly packed white shopping bag on their dresser as he leaned against the doorframe as he watched her coat her body in body butter as she danced to the sound of the music that was playing. He watched as she carefully untied her her robe so that it exposed her mint green lace underwear as she began to rub the body butter onto her stomach as a smile appeared her on face. Just then his foot touched the door making it creak and causing her to notice him
" hey creepy, how long you have been watching me?" she said mocking him as she began to tie her robe again then as she walked to the mirror as she began to die through her make up bag to find the right piece of makeup
"a while, me and Trubel just back from the trailer onto the land that Holly was able to get us from her friend. No ones going to find it anytime soon" he said loving watching her as she went about doing her makeup, although he had always told her that he liked it better when she had just woken up with no makeup on and her hair in full wild waviness
" that's good… oh I umm grabbed something when I was out this morning, its in that white bag on the dresser drawers" she said as she put down her make up brush so that she could watch his reaction when he looked in the bag as he went towards it and pulled out a white baby onesie that said 'my daddy can arrest your daddy'
" wait is this for…..oh my god doe- does this mean what I think it means?" he said finding it hard to form a full sentence as he tried to come terms what she was implying by showing him this, he could barely contain the happiness he felt when he thought that she was carrying his baby
" if you think it means I'm pregnant then yeah it does! I'm eight weeks and have my first doctors appoint on Tuesday" she said before he picked up and begin to spin her around as they both laughed from happiness until he gently placed down on the bed being careful not to hurt
"oh wow, I can't believe this and I mean that in amazing way like it seems like a dream" he said untying her robe so that her stomach was exposed to them both so that he could place his hand over where their baby was as she placed hers over his
" yeah I know, I found out the night we found Rolek's key and I left to got Rosalee's which by the way there was never a wedding emergency but none of it felt real till I saw that onesies and pictured our baby in it" she said as happy tears began to fall down her cheek ruining the makeup that she had done so far
" our baby…in seven months we're going to have either a baby boy or girl… I love you and il mio piccolo bambino… I've learned a little Italian since its your favourite language" he said in broken Italian as he kissed her then shimmed down the bed to kiss her stomach as she giggled about how ridiculously happy they both were as Nick began to kiss her more passionately
" aren't you full surprises? you know I wouldn't to do this with anyone else, you Nick Burkhardt just might be the love of my life" she said she kissed him again as she took off her robe and threw on the floor as she began to take his t-shirt off of him then toss it on the floor with a chuckle, forgetting about everything else going on in her world
Once Mia and Nick had finished celebrating their newest development in their lives they realised that they had less time than they would have liked so Mia grabbed her makeup bag and decided to do the rest of her make up in their bedroom to let Nick take his shower so that he could get ready in their bathroom. She tried her hardest to fix her hair back into the style the hairdresser had created earlier that day, her hair colour had been lighten a little so it wasn't as dark and the two front sections of her hair were pinned back while the rest it was effortlessly curly. Mia created dark grey smoky eye makeup with a touch of light brown to bring out the colour of her big brown eyes and wore dark rosy lipstick, her nails were almond shape with a natural look to them. After she was finished with her makeup she grabbed her mint green dress that was made of silk from the waist down then it was chiffon from the waist up covering her chest up. Before she put her shoes on, she walked over to her jewellery box where she began to place her jewellery then placed her white hair pins into her hair for more effect. As she wondered over to where her green peep toe shoes and sat on the bed as she began to put them, Nick came out of the bathroom as he buttoned his shirt but started to struggle as he tried to do his tie then looked up as Mia chuckled while she watched him before coming to his rescue.
" you look beautiful, is it possible that you look more beautiful now that I know that you're carrying little Nick junior?" he asked with a stupid looking smile on his face as she took hold of his tie then began to fix it so that it sat better with and without his suit jacket on, once it was finished she made sure it was straight then simply patted it with affection
" maybe, I mean they say that you get a glow from pregnancy but I think thats just from throwing up so much in the first trimester" she said with chuckle as she tried to down play it all, she was glad though that he was as happy about it all as she thought he would be and it was still comforting to hear him talk about it with such happiness in his eyes that never lied
"but it hasn't been that bad as it, the morning sickness I mean?" he asked suddenly worried about that she was having a hard time of it all, before now he hadn't really thought much of her sickness since she was able to convince him that it was simple a 24hr bug then had been successfully hiding it from them on
" not really but apparently it can worse, don't worry I'm made of stronger stuff than that… hey we should be heading out soon if we're going to make it on time"she said as she suddenly caught sight of the time on the clock on their bedroom wall as she walked round to their wardrobe and grabbed her green tweed peacoat along with her mint green clutch with all of her essentials inside
" why don't you go ahead of me and I'll meet you by the stairs? I just need to grab my speech, I'll be two minutes tops" he said giving her kissed before she headed downstairs to make sure that trouble would be okay without them then headed into the kitchen to get a bottle of water for the journey there. As soon as Mia was out of the room Nick opened the drawer where he had hide Mia's engagement ring before placing it in one of the inside pockets of his suit jacket
On the journey there, it suddenly occurred to Mia that she was still to tell Nick all about her phones calls with Adalind and Sean as well as her meeting with Adalind which she knew he would be less than pleased about. So she decided to take a sip of water as a way of gathering her thoughts before shattered his bubble of happiness with her more trouble and worries that they could add to their list of upcoming fights and enemies.
" so I got a call from your captain today, apparently one of his spies from inside the royals told him that Victor's been working with someone from the council to find out all he can about me" she said not looking at him as she tried to keep her voice even to hide the fear she now felt every time she said Victor's name or thought about him and what he might be planning to do to her
"wait someone from the council is working with the royals and the Verrat? I guess we both know who that might be" he said in a bitter tone as he thought about the only person from the council who hated her enough to turn against everything they believed just to get to back at her for things she had done in the past
" Yeah as much I don't want it to be, it has to be Alexander because Sean said from the amount of info they were able to get me they had to be close to De Groot and I can't think of anyone close to him than Alexander. But there's more, I told Adalind the truth about her baby" she said knowing this was the one that he would more likely to mad at her for since they had all agreed to keep it from her
" you what! why would you do that when we all sat down and discussed that there was no way she could that baby the way it has to be raised?" he said beginning to raise his voice as he thought about all the danger she had out them all in by confessing their part in taking her baby away from her
" because she knew it was us that took Diana, Victor couldn't give the evidence she needed to convince her that he had her so she turned to me. Plus right now I can see things from her point of view, I know if it was me and my baby had been taken from me then I would whatever it took to them back" she said placing a protective hand over her stomach without even realising it as she shouted back him as she tried to get him to see things her way for once
" I understand that because I know I would too but we can't trust Adalind, I mean she had done too much damage to us as a group in the past by putting Juliette into a coma and put Hank in love spell!" he said trying to show the many reasons why Hexenbiest and Blutbaden didn't historically get on but he knew she would point out that Blutbaden didn't often get on with other wesen
" yeah but we made a deal which I know she will stick to" she said in a dark voice that forced him to take his eyes away from the road so that he could see the look on her face to try and decipher her tone but still came up blank
" what kind of deal? and how do you know that she can be trusted?" he said wishing that she had talked to him before deciding this one her own so that he could have talked her out of it before Adalind double crossed them ore tried to play some kind of trick
" I know I can trust her because she told me that Victor wanted her to take your grimm powers away by performing the Verfluchte Zwillingsschwester which something only she can do and she didn't have to tell me that… I promised her to help her get Diana from Kelly if she helped me against Victor" she said in a low voice at the end as she let him hear the fear she felt with every fibre in her body as she looked out of her window as she tried not to cry
" you really scared about this aren't? That he's going to take our baby like he did with Adalind's or worse, you know I'd never let that happen" he said knowing that he would glad lay down his life in order to keep the love of his life and their child safe
" yeah I know which is one of things I'm worried about, I don't doubt that you do whatever it took to save us but I'm worried you'll die trying. Nick, the five of us can't take the royals on our own so we're going to need everyone we can get to help" she said taking hold of his hand before raising it to her mouth so that she could gently kiss his hand then laid it down on her knee
Soon after Mia's little confession session they had returned to the light and fluffy mood they had been in before as they agreed to discuss it all after the wedding so they put of their minds temporarily as they did normal things to distract them like playing the radio loud so they could sing along or talk about random things. Eventually they arrived at the wedding venue where there were lots of guests beginning to head inside as Mia grabbed her clutch and their wedding gift before getting out of the car. However before she could go any further Nick took hold of her hand and began to lead her away from the crowd to somewhere they had more privacy as she waited for him to tell her what was going on as he began to get down on one knee and pulled out a ring box out of his suit jacket pocket to show a yellow gold ring with small leaves around the diamond in the middle. She knew in a instant that this wasn't the same ring as the one he gotten for Juliette
"Nick?…what are you doing?!… if this is about the baby then I don't need you to propose" she said thinking that was the only reason he was doing this here and now after she had just told him everything she did, she knew that without a doubt he would be there for every moment of this experience with her
"I want to say this has nothing to do with me finding out about our baby but I can't. Mia I was going to propose to you the night that my mom showed with Adalind and the baby before they interrupted me. Everything that's happened so far today just confirmed that now feels like the perfect time to do this. You,Emilia, are good and the light in my life and I would love nothing more than for you to be my wife so will you? will you marry me?!" he said as he watched her try to contain her tears as she clasped her hand over mouth which hide the biggest smile he had ever seen on her face before she realised that it was her turn to talk
"Yes!… Oh my god, I'm going to be Emilia Burkhardt… hey thats actually an improvement on current last name…. I love you" she said as he carefully slid the ring onto her finger before clearing her ring finger of the rings that were currently on it, then he got up from the floor to lift her into a warm embrace as she began to kiss him more passionately than ever
" Mrs Mia Burkhardt, that has a nice ring to it and this one is going to be the first little Burkhardt in a while. Another Nicholas?" he asked before she playfully pushed him to the side as she scoffed at her as he made his way towards her so that he could be closer to her as they walked back towards the wedding
" I am not calling this kid Nick or any various of Nicholas… oh hey Bud" she said as they got closer to the wedding venue and saw Bud coming out of his car with his wife who politely smiled to them then walked ahead of him to talk to someone who she recognised
" Nick, Mia! is this most wonderful day or what?! hey I'l see you inside!" he said to them excitedly before headed over to where his wife was inside talking to couple Mia didn't recognise as they walked inside where everyone was gathered
" I would so yeah, I better go before DeEtta comes to find me but I'll see you by the aisle…. oh hey so I don't forget, here's your sunglasses" she said as she took them out of her bag since she knew he would forget them at the house with everything that was going on with them, she gave him one more kiss before heading to the bridal room where Rosalee was waiting for her
Twenty minutes later Mia and Nick saw each other again as they linked arms to walk down the aisle in front of everyone as they realised that the next time they did this it would probably be at their wedding, soon after they arrived at the alter Hank took his place by the stairs to wait for Rosalee as she made her decent down the stairs since he was giving her away. Mia had to admit that her new wedding dress was a upgrade compared to her grandmother's dress, once you saw Rosalee in it it was hard to image anyone else wearing it. It was as if it were made just for her. Once Rosalee had made to the alter Mia took her flowers from her so that she could free to hold hands with Monroe during the ceremony. Rosalee went first saying her vows about how Monroe had brought light into her life during such a dark time after her brother died as well as how much she loved him. Mia knew what was in Monroe's vows since she had helped write them, he spoke about how he had never believed in love at first sight before her and how she had saved his life in more than one way. They then spoke the more traditional vows as they gave each other their rings before the minster told Monroe he could now kiss the bride. Most of the guest began to woga due to happiness as Nick watched as Mia woged into her Blutbaden self which made realise that his child could be wesen or at least half wesen. Just as the minister was about to present Monroe and Rosalee to their guests, Trubel ran into the room with a file in hand with a cut on her forehead
" Nick! Mia!…oh no!" she said stopping in her tracks as she realised that she had just walked into a room filled with fully woged wesen who would be able to tell what she was as she watched everyone at the alter began to tense as they realised what was about to happen
" Nick, you need to do something before they kill her or worse ruin what's left of Monroe and Rosalee's wedding day" Mia said as he walked down the aisle after making sure his sunglasses were securely on his face before headed to where Trubel was currently being crowded by angry fully woged wesen
" hey its okay, really we're all friends here… hey back off from her, leave her alone!" he said once he saw they were all beginning to attack her, just then the wesen behind him who was trying to get to Trubel accidental knocked his sunglasses off allowing everyone to see that he was a grimm too
" Nick, come on let's get you both out of here both they kill you!" Hank said over the shouting from the guests as he grabbed hold of Trubel and began to guide her toward the room where Monroe and men had been before the wedding with Nick followed behind them as he made sure that Mia was safe as he took her hand then pulled her along with him as they closed the door of the room they had gathered in
"Trouble what are you doing here? and what happened to your head?" Nick said demanding answer as Mia began to look around he room for a first aid box so that she could begin to clean the cut on her forehead as she forced to sit down as she began dab the cut with an alcohol wipe
" something happened at the house, the captain came to give you guys this file then this guy showed up and shot him a couple of times in the chest. Long story short he came after me and I had no choice but to kill them" she said in a panic as she handed Nick the file from her jacket that the captain had wanted to give to Mia and Nick as Mia began to place butterfly stitches onto her cut after seeing how deep it was
" what guy?" Hank asked as he pulled his phone out as he began to call Wu's number to find out what was going on with the captain since he knew that he would most likely be the one to be the first on the scene at their place
" I don't know I've never seen her before, he was just some random Hundjäger that wanted to attack me yet again" she said getting from her chair since Mia was finished with her as the door opened to reveal Bart who looked as stressed out and panicky as they all were in that moment, Mia noticed that he had grabbed her things from the other room for her
" hey guys I think it better Nick and Trubel before that lot break down the door trying to get to them… call me when you get home so I know that you're ok sweetie?" he told her before he gave his daughter a hug and a kiss on the cheek as she threw her coat on before following Nick, Hank and Trubel to Hank's car which they all got into. Hank drove with Trubel next to him in the passenger chair, Nick and Mia sat next to each other in the back
"Mia… you want to take a look at this" Nick said after looking through the file that the captain gave Trubel for them to look at, he handed her the file with a shocked and disguised look on his face as he tried to process all the information that was inside the file
" what is it?…Mia?" Trubel asked as she twisted in her chair so she could see her face better as she tried to work out what was going with the couple that had been so kind to her lately, Mia read the information with tears in her eyes as she looked as though as she was about the be sick
"Its evidence I guess that Victor's coming after me but its more than that, its bank statements an contracts for Alexander and whoever he's working with….Plus they know about the baby" she said as she showed them her test results that she figured Alexander must have taken from her's doctor's computer by hacking into it then another one of her buying the onesie that day as Nick pulled her into him as he began to comfort her as she started to sob
