Okay before I start this chapter let me explain what the color pink means. The color pink is used to represent unconditional love, friendship, and spiritual healing. The last chapter was showing those traits basically...But this chapter will be longer and it will reveal what was on the newspaper. Read and review. Also this is another color chapter.
Colours:Purple
"Tenzin we need to leave now! Please just let us go. I'm the Avatar, I can take care of myself."
Tenzin looked over his newspaper and was met by Korra's face. He could see the rage that filled her face. Mako walked up behind her and rested a hand on her shoulder. She looked down at the table and then leaned back and sat down. Mako stood at her side.
"Korra...I know you are very upset with what you saw in the newspaper but you can not leave yet."
"Why not? The paper has a picture of me that shows my stomach bulged out and the caption reads "Is the Avatar over eating or hiding something?"
"Korra...I know you are upset but you can not leave yet. IF you leave someone will see you and your secret will be out completely."
"But people are already curious...Tenzin I need to leave. Mako and I have to go tell my parents and get married. Its the only way to try to settle things."
Tenzin laid his newspaper on the table and looked Korra in the eyes. She was hopeless, she was scared, but she was wise. He saw how much wisdom Korra had in her. She knew what she had to do, she knew how to do it, but she needed a little help getting there. Tenzin smiled and then picked up his newspaper once more.
"Alright. I'll help you leave. Tonight I will fly you and Mako to the docks so no one will see you. Then from there you're on your own."
Korra felt relieved and enlightened.
"Thank you master."
Korra got up and bowed respectful to Tenzin and then her and Mako walked back to her room.
"I can't believe it. I thought I would be happy after Tenzin agreed to help us...but I'm not. I'm nervous and scared."
Korra sat on her bed and stared at the floor. Mako sat beside her and hugged her close to his chest. He rubbed his hand slowly up and down her back as she laid there motionless.
"Its okay Korra. The sooner we tell them, the sooner we can get the secret out and put the rumors to rest. I know you're nervous but don't be. They are your parents, the will love you unconditionally either way. Now they might be upset at first but they will soon realize that we need their help. You know like Tenzin was."
"Yea...you're right."
"I know...I'm always right."
"Don't be conceited Mako."
"I'm not. I'm just stating a fact."
"Mhm."
Korra pulled back and stood up. She walked to her window and looked out. The day was young and beautiful. She was just sad she couldn't be out there to enjoy it. To feel the breeze in her hair, the warmth of the sun on her skin, and feel the elements surrounding her. She sighed in sadness as she continued to look out. Mako walked up behind her and put his arms around her waist. He laid his head on her shoulder and looked out the window. He knew what she longed for and he was sad he couldn't give her what she wanted. Instead he leaned against her and whispered in her ear.
"Too much protection is no virtue. That's why we experiment."
She smiled and turned to look at him. He was smiling and so was she. They shared a quick kiss before they held hands and walked out the room. In the hallways they avoided the acolytes and hoped Tenzin or Pema wouldn't spot them trying to leave. They were in the clear. Korra and Mako made their ways to where the bison were kept and found Naga. She was happy to see her companion and greeted her with a kiss. Korra put the saddle on Naga and was ready to go. Mako helped her up onto the dog and then he climbed on himself. And they were off...
Korra and Mako rode on Naga throughout Republic City. Korra made sure her bump was covered and Mako made sure nothing reached Korra. After riding on Naga for hours, the couple felt tired and wanted to rest. Naga took them to the park. Mako helped Korra down from Naga's back and they sat underneath the tree...their tree. Naga was drinking water out of the fountain.
"So are you feeling better my baby?"
"Yes, yes I am. I'm lucky to have you back Mako. I couldn't do this without you."
"I know."
"Stop being conceited."
"I'm not. Its just the truth. I'm just agreeing with you."
Korra rolled her eyes and leaned against Mako. They sat there for awhile in silence watching the sunset. It was beautiful. The oranges and blues and reds that filled the sky.
"Mako!"
"What?"
"ITS THE SUNSET WE GOTTA GET BACK TO THE ISLAND BEFORE TENZIN KNOWS WE LEFT!"
Korra was rushing to get back. Mako was too. They hopped on Naga and rode out back to the Island. They made it back before the edge of dark. And to their surprise Tenzin hadn't notice their disappearance. He had actually been asleep, resting up for the flight. Tenzin told them to pack their bags and meet him at the pavilion. About an hour later they met up with Tenzin and he flew them to the dock.
"Now I know this is going to be hard, but you two need to do this. You need to put an end to these rumors."
"Thank you Tenzin so much. We'll be back soon."
"Remember one thing though, too much protection is no virtue."
Korra and Mako froze and looked at each other and back at Tenzin. He was smiling so they smiled too. He hugged them both and watched them get on the boat. As the boat left the docks Tenzin thoughts aloud.
"They thought I was dumb? I'm one of the wisest people they know."
Ending here. Next chapter will be up soon. Please review.
