Thanks for the reviews. I will now update daily until this story comes to an end. But please follow my other two stories that are in progress. I changed the name so they would be the same. Follow both of The Beats of Our Hearts stories and leave reviews. No one is following those stories and I don't know why. And please refer those stories to other readers you may know. Please help me out. I will do the same. Pm me if you have any ideas or anything. And before I forget the color baby blue represents softness and understanding. Like how Korra was finally understanding things and how Mako had his soft side for Korra and the baby.
Colours: Green
They finally made it. They finally reached the South Pole. Although they weren't too excited to be there, they were excited to be off that boat.
"Finally, the smell of something other than fish!"
"Come on it wasn't that bad."
Korra turned back and looked at Mako who was walking behind her. He was carrying his bag in his right hand and making gestures with his left. Korra just shook her head and turned back around walking through the snow to her parents home. She had to admit she was scared to go home, scared to tell the truth, scared of the outcome. But she knew she had to do it. Truth be told she didn't bring extra clothes because she wanted to leave as quickly as she had came.
"I still can't believe you didn't bring any clothes."
"I have extra." Korra mumbled.
The house wasn't too far now and the baby knew it. It kicked so hard that Korra fell to the ground. Mako quickly helped her up and held her close.
"Its okay." He whispered. "We're almost there."
The house was about ten feet away but it seemed like a long distance. The rest of the trip was silent and the couple held hands as they trudged through the snow. Finally at the door of the house, they just stood there. They stared at the door as if they forgot how to knock. But there was no need to because Senna opened the door. Senna jumped back not knowing someone was on the other side but then she smiled warmly at her daughter. Mako and Korra let go of each others hands and Korra hugged her mother. She pulled back and looked her daughter in the eyes.
"Are you...?" Her voice trailed as Korra hung her head. All of a sudden flashes from the past appeared in Senna's head. She was saddened yes, because Korra was not married. But she was then happy because she knew Korra had Mako, that he would be there for her, protect her, and love her. He would be her safety shield. Senna was then okay with the news but a little shocked. She thought Korra was always busy how did she find time to...? That remains a mystery for now.
"Where is dad? We have to tell him."
Senna simply nodded and moved out of the way to let her daughter and Mako in. Korra led them to the small living room and she sat down on the fur sofa. Mako looked down at her and she just shrugged. He understood her her shrug and just stood there waiting for her father to enter the room. Senna walked down the small hallway and disappeared. Moments later Tonraq appeared and Senna was standing beside him. Tonraq looked tired. Mako figured it was from becoming the new Chief of the Water Tribe. Now this news was going to stress him out even more. Korra stood up and hugged her father.
"Hey sweetie. What are you doing here? And where is Tenzin?"
Korra stepped back and looked her father in the eyes. The man who was her father. The same man she told she would never have children. The same man she told she would fulfill her duties as the avatar and wouldn't get distracted. The same man she looked up to, the same man that loved her, the man that respected her. Now she was faced with the truth and the consequences. She was so scared and ashamed. The tears poured from her face and streamed down her face. She choked trying to speak but finally it came out, clear as day.
"I'm with child. Seven months."
Tonraq's heart dropped. It was as if the past had finally caught up with him and now he was viewing it as the adult had then, Senna's father. His eyes watered but then his face hardened and he looked to Mako. Mako's tried to avert his gaze but he felt the burn of Tonraq's eyes upon him.
"You! You did this!"
Tonraq tried to get to Mako to seriously hurt him but Korra had to stand in front of him. Tonraq knew one wrong move could hurt Korra or the baby. But he didn't know this until after he reacted to her action. Tonraq without thinking, swung and hit Korra, throwing her body to the side. She lay there. Her hearing was lost, her heart pounding, and all she saw was green. Flashes of greens. And then without realizing it she said, "I'm suppose to be safe here. You're suppose to keep me- us safe."
I know its short but please review. And please go follow both The Beats of Our Hearts and leave reviews. I will do the same in return.
