Ok then on to the story!

Renzo POV

.

"This is the place." Shiemi said as we walked into a one of the small garden areas. "He was lying over there." She pointed over near a bench. We walked over and looked around.

"Well there's no blood or anything," I said slowly.

"Let's search the area," Izumo suggested. We split up and walked around, looking for any signs of a problem.

"Hey guys, come here!" Shiemi called out after a few minutes. "There's something wrong with the grass here."

"What is it?" Konekomaru said as we all walked over

"The grass is a strange color, and it's giving off a strange smell," She said

"It looks fine to me," I said.

"You don't know anything about plants," Izumo said, frowning. "What do you think is on the grass?"

"I don't know," Shiemi admitted. She pulled up some grass and held it out to Izumo.

"What do you want me to do? Smell it?" Izumo asked.

"Well…I was hoping you'd know what was on it?" Shiemi muttered.

"Here give it to me," Konekomaru said holding out his hand. Shiemi shot him a grateful smile and dumped the grass in his hands. Konekomaru bent down and sniffed it. His eyes widened and he dropped the grass.

"Oh no," he whispered, paling. "I know that smell."

"What is it?" I asked frowning.

"It's a substance used in a kind of bomb." He said. "When thrown to the ground the gas is released. Sometimes the gas knocks the person out or makes them unable to move; but most of the time the gas is poisonous."

"So you're saying that he was poisoned?" I said, frowning.

"Oh no," Shiemi whispered.

"We don't know that for sure." Izumo said.

"Maybe not, but it's really looking like that," I said

"No," Konekomaru said, sinking to his knees. "I can't believe Bon's gone."

"We need to stay together from now on," I said. "We don't know if he'll try to kill anyone else."

"For now we shouldn't confront Tyler," Izumo said, trying not to cry, "Bon got into a fight with him and was killed. For now let's just lay low."

.

Bon's POV

.

"This is stupid," I muttered, looking around the garden. "Why do I have to stay in this stupid garden?"

"Because if you hide anywhere else in the school someone could find you," Yukio said. "This place is the only place that no one knows about."

"Why does Mephisto have a little secret garden anyways?" I asked, frowning.

"It doesn't belong to Mephisto, it belongs to the school," Yukio said. "It's old so everyone forgot about it, except for Mephisto. That's why he uses it to hide things and people here."

"Hey guys!" Rin called from the entrance of the garden. As he walked into the garden he turned from Tyler to Rin.

"Shouldn't you be in class, Rin?" Yukio asked his brother.

"The amulet needs charging," Rin said.

"So you charge it here?" I asked.

"Yeah, this place is the only place it can charge," Rin said. "So, how do you like your new home?"

"This place stinks," I grumbled.

"I didn't think it was that bad," Rin said.

"I don't like living in a little shied at the edge of a garden," I said. "Also that place is a mess, and it smells weird."

"Hey!" Rin said, insulted. "Don't call me a slob! That was where I lived before I got the amulet."

"Oh…" I said frowning. "Hey, wait a minute! Everyone's going to think I'm dead!"

"You just realized this?" Yukio asked sarcastically. I shot him a glare.

"I've been kind of busy," I said. "After being dragged to an arena, finding out my friend is alive and hiding in some garden, I didn't have time to really think of anything else."

"They'll probably blame me for your death," Rin said, gloomily.

"That can't be helped," Yukio said, sighing.

"Can't I somehow find a way to tell them I'm alright?" I asked desperately.

"No, it's too dangerous," Yukio said. "If they find out that you are alive, it will affect the mission."

"Rin, you really need to hurry up and finish this!" I exclaimed.

"Yeah, I know," Rin grumbled. "I'm working on it. They won't tell me anything. As soon as I get some information, I will finish this."

Time skip…

Two weeks later…

Rin's POV

.

"This will never end," I thought grumpily as I flipped through my text book. "So much for a 'first assignment'; all they want me to do is to keep an eye on Yukio and report what he does. This has to be the worst mission ever!" As the teacher talked on, I felt everyone's eyes glaring at me. Ever since Bon "died", they've been giving me the cold shoulder. I knew they were going to blame me for this, but even so, it was driving me crazy. I wish more that I could explain this whole thing to them.

"The only reason they haven't tried to confront me is that they are afraid of me," I thought glumly. "They are planning to do a group attack sometime in the future. I hear them whispering about it when they think I can't hear them."

"Mr. Evergroth, are you paying attention?" The teacher asked, shaking me out of my thoughts.

"Uh sorry," I muttered. From the corner of my eye, I saw Konekomaru clench his fists. He looked like he was about to cry. I sighed and turned my attention back to the front of the class. Finally the bell rang, and I quickly picked up my books and walked out of the room.

"Only two more classes to go before lunch," I thought as I walked. "Man, am I hungry. I hope I don't bump into any of them in the lunch line. Things would get nasty." Suddenly there was a growl behind me, and I turned to see a huge creature with glowing green eyes.

"What the?" I exclaimed. "How did you get in?"

"What's going on?!" I heard someone yell. I turned to find Shiemi standing there looking horrified. The demon turned and pounced forward and knocked her to the ground. She screamed and started to struggle.

"Hey, cut that out!" I yelled pulling out my sword. My seal broke, and I turned back into myself. The demon slowly turned around and looked at me. From under him I saw Shiemi lying there knocked out, blood oozing from a cut on her arm.

"That can't be good," I said worriedly. The demon stood up and jumped towards me. I slashed my sword at him, cutting him in two. It fell to the ground and dissolved into dust. I put away my sword and ran to Shiemi's side.

"Shiemi can you hear me?" I called. "Wake up!" I shook her but she didn't respond. I had no idea what I should've done. I couldn't bring her to the hospital looking like Rin. Once I pulled out my sword the amulet automatically turns off, and I need to bring it back to the garden to recharge. I heard footsteps coming in my direction. I scooped Shiemi up and took off running.

"I'll bring her to the garden," I thought. "I know there is a first aid kit there." I charged down another hall and stopped in front of a picture of Mephisto that blocked the entrance to the garden. I took out the key and moved the picture to the side so I could unlock the key hole. The secret door opened, and I ran down the hallway and into the garden.

"Made it!" I exclaimed, putting Shiemi on the ground.

"Rin?" Bon asked, walking over to me. "What are you doing back so early? Shouldn't you be in class? Wait, is that Shiemi?"

"She was attacked by a demon, "I said, rushing to the shed and searching for the first aid kit.

"What was a demon doing in school?" he asked, alarmed.

"I have no idea," I exclaimed as I found the first aid kit. "If I knew, I would have reacted faster." I ran over to Shiemi and started bandaging her cut. Bon rushed over and started helping me. After a few minutes the blood stopped.

"Thank goodness," I sighed. "That was a close one."

"What are we going to do with her?" Bon asked

"We need to send her back," I said, "There's no reason to keep her here, her cuts aren't too deep."

"I know, but I wish she could stay," Bon said sighing. "Then we could explain everything to her."

"I know," I said sympathetically. It was hard to watch people suffer because of you. We both wanted to tell her everything.

"Rin? Bon?" we both looked down to see Shiemi looking at us with groggy eyes.

"She's awake!" I thought worriedly. "Wait she's still in a daze…maybe if I knock her out we can pass this off as a dream." I smiled at her and leaned in forward.

"Don't worry Shiemi," I said gently. "Just go back to sleep." I reach forward and pressed her pressure points. Her eyes rolled back and she slumped to the floor.

"You better call Yukio," Bon said. I nodded and pulled out my phone.

.

Meanwhile…

Shiemi's POV

.

Class ended and we walked out of the classroom as a group. We've been doing everything in a group. After what happened with Bon, we didn't want to lose anyone else. I felt my eyes start to tear up thinking of Rin and Bon. We've lost so many good friends to Tyler. It was so unfair.

"So," Renzo said, trying to break the gloomy atmosphere. "What's our next class?"

"It's…." I started, then I stopped. "Oh no!"

"What?" Konekomaru said frightened. "Is something wrong?"

"I forgot my books!" I said.

"That's all?" Izumo said, annoyed. "Well, I guess we have to go back to get them."

"I'll go by myself," I said, not wanting to hold the group back.

"That's a bad idea," Konekomaru said nervously. "What happen if you got attacked?"

"The classroom is only a few halls away," I said. "If I need help, I'll shout. You can hear me from there."

"Are you sure?" Renzo asked. "I don't mind going back with you."

"Don't worry," I said taking off. "It'll only be a moment!" I turned the corner and ran down the hall. As I ran down the hall, I heard someone yell. "How did you get in?"

"Is that Tyler?" I thought as I got to the end of the hall. I turned the corner to find Tyler standing near a demon

"What's going on?" I half demanded, half yelled. Was Tyler working with this demon? The demon and Tyler both turned towards me. Before I had time to react the demon pounced, knocking me to the ground. I let out a scream, hoping the others would hear me. Tyler yelled something and suddenly there was blood everywhere.

"Am I going to die?" I thought as the world became blurry. "I shouldn't have left the group. Why didn't I just stay with the group?" As the world faded into blackness, I heard someone call me.

"Shiemi, can you hear me? Wake up!" The voice called. It sounded like Rin's voice.

"Rin," I thought quietly, and then the world went black.

The first thing I noticed was that I could feel grass under me. I tried to move but I couldn't. I felt really numb.

"Where am I?" I thought groggily. Then I noticed I could hear things. There were two people near me talking. As I listened, I realized they sounded like Rin and Bon.

"Am I dead?" I thought as I struggled to move.

"What are we going to do with her?" I heard Bon ask.

"We need to send her back," Rin answered. "There's no reason to keep her here, her cuts aren't to deep."

"Send me back?" I thought surprised. "Do they mean back to Earth? Does that mean I'm not completely dead yet?"

"I know but I wish she could stay," I heard Bon say giving a sigh. "Then we could explain everything to her."

"I know," Rin said.

"No!" I thought desperately. "I can't go back! I want to see them at least one more time!" I struggled and forced my eyes open. I found myself in a beautiful garden and sitting in front of me were my two dead friends.

"Rin? Bon?" I said quietly looking up at them. They looked down at me, and Rin moved forward smiling. How I missed his smile.

"Don't worry, Shiemi," he said gently. "Just go back to sleep." He reached forward with his hand and the world when black again.

"I told you, we shouldn't have left her!" I heard Konekomaru say. "If Yukio didn't find her, she would have ended up dead!"

"You should have stopped her then!" snapped Izumo. I groaned and opened my eyes. I found myself in a bed.

"You're awake!" Renzo exclaimed. "You were so still, we were afraid you were dead!"

"Was I dead?" I wondered. "Or was that a dream?"

"Was it a dream?" I said tiredly,

"Was what a dream?" Izumo said.

"Rin, Bon," I said quietly. The three of them shot each other looks.

"You're tired," Renzo said. "Get some rest; we'll talk later."

"Maybe it'll make more sense when I'm more awake," I thought, giving them a nod. I turned over and let myself fade into slumber.
