Yukio's POV

.

"This is taking too long," I muttered to myself as I paced in my cell. "He should have been back by now…" In the distance, I heard the sound of footsteps. It sounded like a large group was coming down into the holding area. I started to worry again. Was Rin captured? Around the corner came a group of demons dragging some people behind them. I peered through the bars to try to get a better look at who they were.

"Let go!" one person cried. Her voice sounded really familiar. I tried to think of who it was. The sound of cell doors slamming jerked me out of my thoughts. The demons turned and left the prison.

"This can't get any more confusing," A voice muttered in the cell across from me. I strained my eyes trying to see who it was.

"Renzo!" I exclaimed finally recognizing him. "What are you doing down here?" It then dawned on me who the other voice was. "Shiemi? You're here too? Who else is down here?"

"Yuki?" came Shiemi's voice a few cells over.

"Is that Yukio?" I heard Bon ask.

"Yeah, it looks like him," Renzo said.

"What are all of you doing down here?" I demanded.

"It's a long story," Konekomaru muttered.

"Then summarize," I growled. "How did you find this place? What possessed you to come down here?"

"To put is shortly, Mephisto told them a bunch of half-truths, and they decided to come down here to save you and to kill Tyler. Rin ended up getting stabbed by Renzo which broke is amulet. Now the organization has both Rin and the Demon Core and are going to sacrifice Rin for power," Bon said. I paled.

"Oh no," I whispered sinking to the ground. I should have stopped Rin. I knew something would have gone wrong. I could at least have told him to keep my cell unlocked.

"So now what?" Izumo asked.

"I don't know," Renzo muttered. "I still can't get over the fact that Rin's alive."

"I can't believe he would hide something like that from us," Konekomaru exclaimed. "Aren't we his friends? This is worse than Bon. He actually signed up for this."

"You know, Bon, you could have told us he was alive," Izumo grumbled.

"Mephisto told me not to!" Bon yelled.

"You still could have hinted at it!" Izumo snapped.

"I did!" Bon exclaimed. "You guys just ignored me!"

"Stop arguing!" I yelled loudly. "This isn't the time!" They all turned to me. "Right now, it doesn't matter if Rin didn't tell anyone or whose fault it is that we're all caught. We need to focus on getting out of here!"

"Come on, cut us some slack," Renzo groaned. "We're all kind of in shock right now."

"We've been mourning the death of a friend for months, and he suddenly return alive unexpectedly," Konekomaru said. "It's kind of shocking."

"You guys don't get it do you?" I said angrily. "This isn't part of the plan. We're really captured. I don't have some special way to escape from this prison. Somewhere out there, Rin is going to be sacrificed and his power taken. It doesn't matter if Rin or Bon or Mephisto didn't tell you because once the ceremony starts, Rin will really die." Silence followed my little speech. Then what I said really started to sink in.

"We have to get out of here now!" Shiemi cried.

"Do you think we could break the bars?" Renzo asked.

"That wouldn't work," I said, relieved that they got it. "This place might be old but the bars have been kept in good condition."

"I would call Nii but they tore up the paper he was summoned on." Shiemi said.

"Same here," Izumo grumbled.

"Who's nearest to the door?" I asked.

"I am," Konekomaru said.

"Do you see any keys hanging by the door?" I asked.

"Yeah," Konekomaru said. "But I can't reach them."

"Maybe you can find something long to reach them with?" Renzo asked.

"I can't with my hands tied up." Konekomaru muttered.

"Your hands are tied up?" I asked, surprised. "Are all of your hands tied?"

"Pretty much," Bon muttered.

"That complicates things," I said worriedly, desperately trying to think of a plan. "Um okay…how did you guys find this place? Did you have a map?"

"Yeah, we do," Izumo said.

"Okay..." I said, wondering how they got a map in the first place. "Can you get it over to me?"

"Hang on, I have to get it out of my pocket," Renzo said. I heard some rustling and something went flying into the bars of my cell. I walked over and saw a map lying on the ground.

"Hey," I said, frowning. "This is Mephisto's map. How did you…never mind I'll ask later." I quickly scanned it over and found where the cells are. "Okay, underneath our cells there's an old sewer tunnel. According to this map there should be an old grid over a drainage hole in the cell to my right. Who's in that cell?"

"That would be me," Bon said.

"Okay, Bon, look around for a grid in the back wall of your cell," I instructed. "Once you find it, try to kick it in."

"Alright, hold on," Bon muttered. "Let's see…found it!" The sound of metal getting kicked rang through the dungeon followed by a crash. I winced.

"I really hope no one heard that," Konekomaru muttered.

"Okay, I kicked it in, now what?" Bon asked.

"Is it big enough for you to get through it?" I asked

"Yeah, I can fit," Bon said

"Okay, try to slip through it," I said. "Once you get to the other side, make your way north until you see another grid. Once you break through that grid, you need to go south until you are outside the prison. Make your way back down here and unlock the rest of us. Also try to find a sharp rock to free your hands."

"Right," Bon said. "Okay, I'm going now."

"Good luck!" Shiemi said. I put down the map and leaned back against the cell. Minutes passed.

"Um…is it supposed to take this long?" Konekomaru asked nervously.

"The tunnel is windy and dark," I said. "It might take him a little while."

"By then it's going to be too late," Part of my mind said. "Rin's going to die." I rubbed my head and tried to ignore my panicked thoughts.

"If we waste too much time, Rin's going to die!" Shiemi cried. "We need to do something!"

"There's nothing we can do right now except wait and stay calm," I said, trying to follow my own directions. "While we wait, I'll tell you about the mission Rin took and what happened during that time."

"At least talking will keep them calm. Also, it helped distracted everyone. As long as we keep a level head, we should be fine," I thought as I told the story. "Or at least I hope it'll help."

.

When I finished the story, I decided to study the map to see if I could guess where they were holding Rin. While I did that, I listened to the others talk.

"You know, it really doesn't surprise me that much that Rin took the mission to get out of school work," Izumo said.

"True, but I'm kind of annoyed that he thought we wouldn't care about his death," Konekomaru grumbled.

"Rin's going to owe us big time for putting us through that," Renzo said.

"If he survives that long," Izumo muttered.

"We're going to save him!" Shiemi exclaimed. "We have to!" I sighed as the mood darkened again.

"Hello?" Bon called from the door way. "Are you guys still down there?" I snapped my head up and jumped to my feet.

"You got out!" I exclaimed relieved. "Hurry and unlock the doors!"

"Yeah, hold on," Bon said. He rushing to each door and unlocked it. Once my door was unlocked, I quickly helped untie the rest of their hands.

"Okay then!" I said, after everyone was untied. "Everyone ready?"

"Yeah, we're good!" Renzo said.

"Then let's go," I exclaimed as we ran up the stairway. We ran down one hall and into the next hall.

"I wonder why we haven't run into a demon yet," Bon wondered out loud. "We're coming near the center of the underground passages. You'd think we'd have bumped into something by now."

"I bet they're all at the ceremony," Renzo said. Suddenly, Izumo stopped.

"Do you hear that?" she gasped. I stopped and listened. In the distance I heard the sounds of drum beats.

"I think," I said as a sense of dread covered me. "That the ceremony has started."

Thank you all again for your reviews. Since school is starting for me next week it'll take me longer to get the chapters out but I'll try my best.

Please review. Like I keep saying it really helps me stay encouraged to write and it makes my day.
