Chapter 5

The Battle & The War

I wake up to talking, and look at my clock. 11:30 P.M. What the hell? Why is someone up this late? I wonder, as I get out of bed. I look around the room, and Cream isn't in her bed. I sneak down the stairs, and the talking becomes louder as I decend. I sneak into the living room, and see that it is Cream and Tails. I hide behind the corner, and listen to their conversation.

"Is he still upset?" Cream asks, and I hear Tails sigh.

"Yeah, he is..." Tails tells her.

"Did you bring him, or did he refuse to come?" Cream asked.

"He said he wouldn't...that he couldn't be in the same house as her...at least while she is mad at him." Tails sighed, and I peek around the corner. Tails has a worried look on his face, and Cream has her hand on his shoulder. They quick talking, so I figure they are done. So I go back to bed, and fall asleep.

Cream's POV

"Ask him if he will come tomorrow, I'll see if I can trick Amy into coming down too. Then when they are both here, we will leave, and let them sort things out on their own." I tell Tails, and he nods in agreement. Tails turned away, and started walking towards the door. I need to tell him. I take a step towards Tails, and swallowed the lump in my throat. "Uh...Tails, wait a second." I say, and he turns back around. He walked back towards me, and smiled.

"Yeah? What is it Cream?" He asks, and I try to summon all of my courage.

"I...um..." I stutter, and blush. He smiles, waiting for me to say something. "Tails...I..." I try again, and sigh in defeat. "Have a goodnight." I tell him, and smile the best I can manage. His smile grows, and he takes a step towards me.

"You have a goodnight too." He says, and hugs me. My eyes widened, and my cheeks turned bright red. He let go, and grinned. Then he said goodbye, and left. I went up into the bedroom, and went to sleep.

Amy's POV

I wake up, take a shower, and get dressed. I'm wearing a red tank, and black skinny jeans. I go downstairs, and see the girls are already down there. When I come downstairs they all look at me, and I sigh. Cream walks up to me, and smiles.

"Hey Amy, you seem kinda down." She says, and I frown. Is it really that obvious?

"Yeah, I guess..." I sigh, and walk past her. "Lets go to school already." I say, and we all leave.

Lunch Time

I look down at my food, and sigh. I look up, and realize everyone is looking at me.

"Amy, whats wrong?" Blaze asks, and my face reddens slightly.

"Nothing. I just...didn't get enough sleep last night." I lie, and Blaze nods.

"Sorry to hear that, but if there is anything else bothering you..." She looks at everyone else, then back at me. "You can talk to us about it." She smiles, and I smile half-heartedly.

Sonic's POV

I look over at the girl's table, and frown. I turn to the guys, and they look at me.

"Whats wrong with Amy?" I ask, and they shrug. Well, except Shadow. Shadow was looking at the table, a grim expression on his face. I looked from Shadow to Amy, several times. "Did you guys have a fight?" I ask, and Shadow stiffens. I smirk, and they guys join me in looking at Shadow.

"I see. What was the fight about?" Knuckles asks, and Shadow looks up.

"She found out I was in the paparazzi business." Shadow says, and I raise an eyebrow.

"Didn't you quit that a while ago?" I ask, and he nods.

"Yeah, but she thinks I'm still part of the paparazzi. She didn't give me time to explain." He says, and looks down. I stand up, and throw Shadow a thumbs up.

"Don't worry! Let me handle this!" I say, and walk over to the girl's table.

Narrator's POV

Amy looks up and sees Sonic walking over. He has a serious look on his face, which shocked her slightly. He stopped right in front of her, and she frowned.

"You need to talk to Shadow." He demanded, and Amy grew angry.

"No." She growled, and he glared at her. Sonic took ahold of Amy's hand, and yanked her out of her seat. Amy growled, and glared at Sonic.

"Your going to talk to him, even if I have to carry you there!" He stated, and Amy yanked her hand out of his grasp.

"Fuck off!" She yells, and the room grows quiet. He looks at her in shock, and her hands ball up into fists. Tears fill her bright blue eyes, as she glares at him. "I trusted that bastard! And I found out that he only wanted near me because he is part of the fucking paparazzi!" She screamed, tears streaming down her cheeks. "I won't go talk to him! I won't even be near him!" She screams, and glares at Sonic. "I hate him!" She yells, then runs out of the room. She doesn't turn back, even when several people call out her name.

Shadow doesn't call out her name though, because he is in shock by Amy's last sentance. She hates me... He thinks, and he also becomes angry. Fine! Who needs that bitch anyway!

Amy's POV

I storm down the hallway, but someone blocks my path.

"What? Little superstar sad?" A snotty voice mocked, I look up, it was the girl squirral who I yelled at the other day.

"Move." I growl, and she glares at me. She crosses her arms, and pouts,

"No." She says, and I grow angry. Before I can stop myself, I grab her by her shoulders, and shove her against the lockers. She looks at me, a expression of shock and fear on her face.

"Do you not understand!? Does nobody understand!?" I yell in her face, and people stop and stare at us. "D-Do you think I enjoy this!?" I yell, tears streaming down my face. "That I enjoy having the people I trust stab me in the back? To open my heart to someone...And have them rip it out and stomp on it?" I ask, and her eyes soften. "I-I hate it...I hate not being able to trust anyone!" I sob, and let go of her. I look around, and see a group of people were around us. I Turn away from the squirral girl, and run away. I don't turn back, and I don't stop running until my legs can't carry me any further.

Narrator's POV

Cream, Rouge, and Blaze are wandering around town, looking for Amy.

"Amy! Where are you!?" Cream yells, as she walks down the street. "Amy, please! Your not just our bandmate, your our friend! Your like a sister to me!" Cream yells, tears forming in her eyes. "Where could she be?" She asks Rouge, who shrugs, a frown on her face.

"I don't know." Rouge whispers, feeling sad, and worried. Rain drizzles down on the three friends, as they look for Amy.

"This is all that bastard Shadow's fault!" Blaze growls, thinking of the black hedgehog. "If Amy hadn't met him, this wouldn't have happened!" She says, and the girls nod.

"Next time I see him, its no more Mrs. Nicegirl!" Rouge decides, as they continue to look for their lost friend.

Amy is sitting against a building, shivering due to the rain. I should have never trusted him. She thinks, her tears blending in with the rain. Why am I such a fool? She wonders, raising her face to the dark sky, as if the rain could wash away her pain. Why? Why the one boy I could possibly... She shakes her head, not wanting make her heart hurt anymore. Why me? She sighs, shivering again.

"Amy?" A familiar voice asks, and I look up. Amy looks up, her eyes meeting a pair of brown ones. It was the squirrel girl, she looked worried.

"What? Want to make me feel worse?" Amy growls, and the girl shakes her head.

"I'm sure you don't remember my name, but its Sally." She says, and looks down at Amy. "And I wanted to say, I'm sorry." Sally finishes, and Amy's eyes widen slightly. "I didn't have any right to treat you the way I did." She explains, looking guilty. "To be honest, I was jealous. I've always been the center of attention, but then you and your friends came along..." Sally says, kneeling in front of Amy. "But if you'll let me..." She starts, reaching a hand out to Amy. "I'd like to start over, and try being friends." She finishs, and Amy can't help but smile. Amy grabs Sally's extended hand, and Sally pulls her to her feet. "Friends?" Sally asks, smiling warmly at Amy.

"Yeah, friends." Amy replies, and the two girls embrace as the rain pours down.

What did you guys think?
