This is my first ever fanfic/story/anything - please be honest, but kind. She had searched for a new place in the universe. Endured years at the academy - beyond her due. How I think the ending of First Duty should have ended.

Here is my one shot of what happened the morning after Beverly left Picard in Attached. I like to do one shots of missing scenes, so this fits with canon and is my idea of what happened. Hope you enjoy it!

I remember Gates said in an interview how she wished they wrote her pregnancy in the show and I thought "I wonder how that would have gone". This takes place during S3-S4 and starts from the episode Allegiance. What if Beverly didn't leave that night? It is very TNG-esque. I wanted to keep it traditional in that manner.

But no time for that- the Enterprise is crashing into an uncharted planet, and Picard needs to navigate his crew's stranded state- all while meeting a new alien race and dealing with an obnoxious- charming- and powerless Q.
