Hi, everyone!
Okay, so you're probably wondering why the hell there hasn't been an update on this story in the past two years lskejrowlkefwf,
Yeah, you have a right to wonder and an explanation, so here goes:
My last update on this story was during my first year of high school, and long story short, I'm sure that you can imagine how stressful the rest of high school was for me if I couldn't even keep it together during the first year. Looking back at this work, I'm kind of embarrassed. I've gone on to write for a couple of other fandoms and can definitely say that my writing has matured. A lot. I re-read this the other day and was seriously cringing. That being said, Kingdom Hearts will always have a special place in my heart for being the first fandom that I consider myself to have every truly taking a part of, and Nonexistent in particular is especially important to me as it was my first major story. Not only was it my first serious plot-line (though, looking back, I did an awful job at exploring said plot, lol), but it was pretty successful for me—and that's all thanks to you guys.
That being said, even though it's been years since the start of Nonexistent, I'm definitely interested in continuing the story—in my own way, of course.
As some of you may have noticed, I'm not really active on this account anymore at all. In fact, I've moved over the username "eleutheromaniac". I've decided that I would restart and revamp Nonexistent over on that account under the same name.
I know that some of you are probably wondering why I'm doing that since this version of Nonexistent was already seventeen chapters in and you're anxious to see the plot development rolling (especially since it was just starting to roll... man, I was awful). The answer is pretty simple: I've changed. Though I don't intend to change the plot of the story (because it was pretty hella, not gonna lie), it's very obvious to me that my execution of said plot was absolutely atrocious. While there was foreshadowing everywhere, we didn't get to the real plot development until Chapter 15 or something, right? That's a bit unfair, especially seeing that the story was 120k+... That's a lot of extraneous fluff, don't you think?
Now, don't get me wrong: fluff is fun. In my new revamp of the story though, I want to make the humor a bit more mature (as a recently graduated high school senior, I'm guffawing at the way I made my characters behave) and balance the comedy with some drama. In fact, the revamp opens up with something really mysterious and dramatic before lightening up as the chapter continues.
I'm really grateful to all of you for supporting me back when I was still a beginning writer because without your support, I don't think I would've continued to explore the field and eventually choose to major in English like I am now. c: I hope that I'll be able to see you over at the Nonexistent revamp!
(It won't let me put in any links, but you can find them over on this profile's page. c:)
