"Tell me this is one of your bad jokes Katniss, please." Margaret cries out in shock.
"I would never joke about something this serious. Madge is pregnant. A baby. And this is all your fault." Katniss accuses sternly. Miss Margaret rises from her seat in anger.
"My fault!" She looks at Katniss waiting for an answer as to her accusation.
"Yes ma'am. So much literature, mathematics, good behaviour. But you never taught us what a girl should do, when a man wants her. Never, not even one teacher, has ever talked to us about safe sex." Katniss lets all of her anger pour out in this one moment.
"Well that is because this is a school for lady's." Margaret panics, using every little bit of excuses she can.
"Lady's also have sex and get pregnant. Oh please Miss Margaret, we're living in the 21st century. The fact that you have never talked to us about the bees and the birds.." Katniss speaks in a sarcastic tone. "..does not mean that we would never have sexual relationships. Especially if we're in love. Look, now explain to me this, how are you going to explain to Madge that she is no longer a lady? Are you going to ask her to hide her stomach?" Katniss asks not at all too surprised if Margaret really would ask Madge to do this.
Margaret sighs and starts walking around the room while she thinks.
"Are you sure? I mean being a little late doesn't always mean that you are pregnant." Margaret hopes.
"A doctor confirmed it."
All hope falls from Margaret's face, and she hits a table. "Oh how did she do it!" Margaret asks herself.
"Do you really want me to explain how she did it?" Katniss laughs.
Margaret lifts her hand up in the air to tell Katniss to shut her mouth. "Do you know what this will do to the reputation of the school? It will all go to hell! Oh, but I have a solution. I can give the two of you some money and you can.."
"Don't even suggest it! I already told you. We are going to keep the baby and you will help us."

Madge lies in bed tears filling her eyes, when she hears the door to her room open. She lifts her head to find Katniss smiling at her. Katniss slowly sits down next to Madge in her bed.
"This better be the last time I see you crying." Katniss tells her best friend.
"It just isn't fair Katniss. I know girls who have had sex millions of times, and they never end up pregnant. Why did this have yo happen to me?" Madge can't stop crying. She really looks and feels miserable.
"That isn't true. If they don't end up pregnant, it's because they take care of themselves. And not only of getting pregnant, but also of diseases." Katniss explains.
"I knew it. I just knew it." Madge says, ignoring what Katniss said before.
"Knew what? That you were pregnant?"
"I could feel it. That's why I jumped on the lake and.." Madge speaks in between sobs.
"Okay listen. Forget about that." Katniss gets up from Madge's bed and moves onto her own, witch is right next to Madge's. Then she takes her friends hands in hers.
"You are going to have a baby. Do you realize? You're going to be a mom! You will never be alone in your life Madge. You won't have that pain of being lonely." Katniss smiles, as she herself starts to realize that good things can come from this after all. She moves to sit next to Madge again, who seems to be also thinking about things in a slightly newer way.
"That little peace of heaven inside your stomach, will be your reason to live, your source of happiness. You won't ever have to be sad again." Katniss hugs Madge and gives her a kiss in the forehead. Madge still let's a tear fall from her eyes, but for the first time since Peeta left, she smiles.

Katherine Everdeen sips on her tea, her sunglasses out of her eyes for a change. She watches the trees and enjoys a minute of her solitaire, where she doesn't have to act blind, but it all ends too soon when she hears Glimmer's voice.
"Hey aunt." Glimmer greets bluntly. Katherine quickly puts her glasses back on, before she turns around to face Glimmer.
"Good morning. How has your day been?" Katherine answers.
"Aunt Katherine, why didn't you come down to meet my boyfriend Peeta last night, when he was here to meet the family?" Glimmer asks, soudning very deeply offended.
"Glimmer you knew that I was feeling very sick last night." Katherine offers.
"I don't believe you. Uncle Charlie didn't want to meet him either. It was very important for me, that you two could have gone downstairs and talk to him. I mean, I don't know if you know this but, last night Peeta asked my father for my hand." Glimmer says flatly.
"Good. You should be feeling very happy." Katherine says sarcastically.
"Well no aunt that is exactly the worst part. That I can't even be happy about it. Not until one of you spills the guts and tells me what the hell are all of the secrets between the Mellark's and the Everdeen's. Why do you hate each other so much? I mean aunt I need to know about this. Even Peeta gets all nervous when I ask him about it. Why can't anyone tell me anything!" Glimmer cries out in her overly dramatical voice. She gets up and angrily walks away, getting an eye roll from Katherine.

Katniss and Madge walk outside the institution laughing. Katniss imitates how she says Madge will be walking soon due to the pregnancy.
"Do you think it will take long for it to start noticing?" Madge asks.
"Yeah, you're only six weeks pregnant anyway. But I think we could start buying the baby little things." Katniss laughs. She was really starting to enjoy this. "But we don't know what color we should buy the stuff in. Wouldn't you love to know the sex of the baby? I want a boy." Katniss can't help but to let all of this spill out of her, and frankly she seems more exited than the actual mother.
"Katniss I can't do this all alone." Madge panics.
"Hey, who said you were alone?"
"I need you to promise me, that from this day forward, it will be our child. Ours and no one else's." Madge pleads. She needs her friend. If it wasn't for Katniss Madge would die from fear. And she would have to give the baby away and..Madge is brought back to earth when Katniss speaks.
"I promise. Madge this baby will not have one mother but two. This way if something happens to either one of us, the other one takes care of the baby for the rest of their lives."
"Katniss, if something ever happens to me, will you take care of my baby?" Madge needs to be sure that she is not alone.
"Hey, we already agreed that I'm here okay? I'll give you a mothers word." Katniss swears lifting one hand in the air.
"Thank you." Madge runs to hug her best friend.
Hi guys! Sorry for the short chapter, I'll be more active in updating now. I wanted to say that since some people have been confused and asking if this is an everlark story, that yes this is indeed an everlark story, but before the two can start their love story there is so much that has to happen, and it will be a very dramatical, complicated long story, but it will be amazing. Peeta is as you might have noticed a jerk in here, and we sure as hell can't wait to see what Peeta is like, once in love.
