This Chapter isn't as long as I had hoped, but I think it leads up to a good place and gets the story moving. Hope you enjoy and as always, REVIEW REVIEW REVIEW! Thank you!

Song: Sweater Weather-The Neighborhoods

The snow pounded relentlessly outside; knocking out the power and the heat with it and forcing us into the living room with the fireplace that Deaton and I had stacked with wood before piling every pillow and blanket in the house, on the floor in front of the hearth. After Deaton had helped Derek down the stairs, drip still inserted, he gave him a shot of antibiotics just to help his system keep fighting while I made soup the old fashioned way. I took it as a good sign that the soup was still holding in his stomach as he slept soundly for the first time in a week; beneath a huge pile of blankets with Layla on his chest. And how I was hoping Derek wouldn't have to get sick because if he did, Layla was going to be hell when she woke and not in the place she had become so fond of sleeping.

Cozying closer to the fire with my blanket, I tugged my hair loose to ease the tension in the back of my scalp from where it had hit earlier today. Deaton took another look at it before he had lay down on the couch and said it looked just fine with nothing more than a dark bruise. Which would heal in a day or two. Still, it was tender and felt good to relieve some of the weight. My phone begun to vibrate as I dug it out from my pocket and saw Scott's name flash across the screen.

"How are you?" I said in way of greeting; trying to be as quiet as possible.

"Better." He breathed; exhaustion clearly splayed in his voice.

"That's wonderful, but you sound tired."

"I am."

"We both are!" I heard Stiles in the background.

"Mom and I are staying at Stiles' house since our power went out." He whispered.

"And how's Stiles?"

"Better, just tired. He's having Adderall withdraw." He chuckled and I could hear Stiles groan before Scott yelled. "Dude!"

I couldn't help but to smile as I listened to them bicker, happy that they were doing better.

"So how's Derek? I had this odd feeling earlier but our phones were dead."

"We! We had an odd feeling earlier and I said we should call." Stiles' voice boomed into the receiver.

I sighed; looking to Derek as I watched the rise and fall of his chest.

"June? What happened?" They both prodded.

"I'm not exactly sure." I went on to explain the whole incident in detail and waited for one of them to say something.

"But he's better now?" Scott asked.

"He seems to be doing better. He's actually sleeping and so far he's able to keep his soup down." I assured.

"Good."

"What did you mean earlier when you said you had an odd feeling?"

"It was like we were really tired…" Scott started

"And then it's like my heart just pumped!" Stiles added.

"Dude, no shit your heart pumped." Scott chuckled.

"You know what I mean! It was just really hard, really fast." Stiles clarified.

"Yeah and then we just went back to being exhausted and slept the rest of the day." Scott finished.

"I think it's a sign that we spend too much time with the Grinch." Stiles chuckled and my phone decided to beep at me. I double checked to make sure they were, in fact, doing better before hanging up and sending a quick text to my parents updating them of the situation before my phone died. I'd have to pick them up in a couple of days from the airport. Weather foreboding. Tucking it on the side table, I heard Derek's groggy voice.

"June?"

Diving into the bed I hurried to check him over, feeling his head for a fever, checking his pulse, when he grabbed my wrist and squeezed. "June, I'm fine. I was checking on you." His hand reached out to cradle the back of my head as he rubbed it soothingly.

"I'm fine. I just talked to Scott and Stiles." I whispered so not to wake Layla or Deaton as I sank beneath the covers with him.

"How are they?" He asked, though I knew he had heard the whole conversation. Even when he was asleep he had the uncanny ability of knowing what I was up to.

"They're doing better." I said anyway as I curled Layla's hair.

"Good." He hummed. "Maybe in a couple of days we can go out and check on the house."

"I take it you're feeling better?"

He chuckled and kissed my forehead, "Much."

"I'm not letting you push it, Derek. It's just the antibiotics and Epinephrine talking."

"And I'm not letting all of our hard work and money go to waste if the roof's caved in from the snow." He reasoned.

"I agree with you there but there's no way you're going out…"

"And you're going to stop me are you?" He bickered with a light of challenge in his eye.

"If I have to." I said, standing my ground.

Very gently, he eased Layla off of his chest and laid her on the pillow between him and the closed hearth before rolling over and pinning me beneath his body, mindful of the I.V. "Still think you can stop me?" He whispered into my ear, nibbling on the lobe, and tracing his lips down my neck. I shuttered under his caressing as he rolled his hips between my thighs while his hands circled my wrists and pinned them above my head.

"Mmm-hmm." I hummed; biting my lip to keep from waking Deaton as a moan danced dangerously close on my lips. Slowly his kisses trailed down between my breasts, removing one from my tank-top so he could tease my nipple.

"That's not very convincing." He moved up to my lips-hovering just out of reach. I stared into the clarity of his eyes and saw that I had my mate, my alpha, back. Grinding his hips, I could feel the hard press of his erection, teasing me through our pants.

Giving in I arched into him and mashed my lips to his. Forgetting about today, forgetting that he had been sick, and forgetting that we weren't alone as I writhed wantonly against his body. It felt like forever since I'd felt him, had him inside of me. And now that I had him so close to me I couldn't think of anything else in the world I wanted more.

Derek had his pants down when I felt his hand slide beneath the waist band of mine as his fingers sought my aching heat. Sliding home I cantered my hips to his rhythm when suddenly I heard a banging. At first I thought it was just in my head until it grew louder and Derek stopped and then Deaton was up. "While it's proven that sex helps with the healing process of werewolves, I'd advise you to pick it up later when you haven't so many visitors." We watched as he wrapped a blanket around his shoulders, keeping his eyes averted, and shuffled into the other room.

"God damn it!" I groaned and Derek chuckled. SO FUCKING CLOSE!

"I tried." He kissed me as he pulled his pants up before whispering in my ear with a growl, "but don't think I'm done." Rolling off he tugged me to sit up when Deaton appeared in the doorway with Janice-wrapped in the blanket Deaton had been just moments ago.

"Janice?" I questioned; taking in her paler than death face and hurried to her. The damp red strands of her hair dripped down her face as her pale blue eyes stared past me. "Janice?" I pressed gently, seeking her hand and finding it strangely hot.

"She was naked." Deaton spoke as he pushed a strand from her face and observed her eyes. "One of you?" He asked careful as to how he put it in case she wasn't.

"No." Derek answered as he came up behind me and reached his hand to cup her chin. "Janice? Can you hear me?" He coaxed but she was unresponsive.

"Is she on something?" Deaton asked next as he grabbed his flashlight and shown it in her eyes.

I inhaled her scent and found nothing out of the ordinary. "Nope."

"Here, bring her to the couch by the fire." Derek and I ushered her to the couch while Deaton grabbed his bag, producing several of the usual instruments. He shown her eyes, took her pulse, and finally checked her reflexes. Still she sat posed on the couch and unresponsive. "She's burning up but she hasn't a fever." Deaton assessed when I noticed Janice's finger twitching; tracing endless circles in the air. The wind kicked up outside and snow pounded against the window.

"It's almost as though she's in a trance." We all took a step back as her finger whirled quicker and she begun to hum. My heart hammered in my chest and Derek hugged me tighter as we watched her and all I could think was Oh god! Please don't let me lose my friend. Not again.
