John was a very cheeky man, Matt noted as he heard the werewolf-nereid hybrid answer Sheamus' questions with smiles and sarcastic remarks.
They were all inside the hybrid's cottage now, seated at his kitchen table as they ate the food their host had graciously laid out for them while Sheamus and he spoke.
"You mean to tell me you want me to help you on your suicide quest?" John asked with his dimpled smile, making Jeff squeak through a mouthful of bread.
"See, Matt! I told you he was crazy!" Jeff gasped, "Shannon told us both: Never trust an Irishman with red hair! That means they're soulless!"
The laugh that came from the Irish vampire let the boys know that he was more amused than actually insulted by his words. "Oh, come on lad! What have Oi done ta make ye think Oi'm so dangerous?"
The glare that came from Jeff let him know that the boy wasn't up for any kind of bullshit. "You almost killed 'Taker! Looking for a book! A book of all things!"
John chuckled at that, "Yeah... That was pretty funny. 'Taker just fell and fell. That's what he gets for being so tall, though."
'Taker glared at the hybrid, clearly insulted by his laughter, then turned to Kane, who was seated at kitchen table and enjoying the food that had been laid out for them.
"You are eating as if you were one of his kind." 'Taker growled, glaring down at his brother.
Kane only growled back at him, not even bothering to form any words as he ate.
"Anyways, John!" Sheamus said, trying to get John's attention once more. "Ye know the prophecy, Cena. Ye know we need ta go through you before we go ta Lucifer's Den. Ye think ye can show us the way ta him?"
John now pushed Daniel out of his seat and sat down, scratching at his chin as he thought about the answer. Daniel gasped as he was thrown to the floor, but somehow managed to keep his tongue still as he glared up at the hybrid. Jeff and Matt looked down at him in surprise while Randy only rolled his eyes and Evan smiled at them.
"I know you need my help, Sheamus, but what's in it for me? If you guys find the fields, Jeff over there gets fixed and I get nothing in return. And if you guys die while searching for the fields I end up alone without any more friends to distract me from my life."
"You can help us out of the goodness of your heart." Matt told him, glaring slightly at the hybrid.
He wanted his brother to get better. And he wasn't about to let some condescending hybrid get in his way from saving his brother.
"Kid, there is no goodness in my heart. That's what you get when you breed a werewolf with a nereid." John shrugged, wrapping an arm around the teen with the chocolate brown eyes.
"Well, if you would like Cena, you could always join us." Sheamus shrugged, making the hybrid's wolf ears perk up.
"Join you, you say?" He asked in a sly tone, looking at the vampire in a slightly suggestive manner.
Randy slammed his hand on the table now, making everyone turn to him in alarm. "That is it! I cannot take this anymore!" He glared darkly at Cena, who's ears had flattened against his head because of the surprise, "I was kidnapped by three idiots and now I'm being told that I might die for something I don't even believe in!?"
Evan chuckled nervously from beside him, twiddling his fingers, "Don't forget the fact that we have no idea how to get back home..."
Matt glared at the boy, "Don't remind him of that, Ev! What do you accomplish with getting him angrier?"
The boy blushed bright red and looked away from his elder, "I just... I didn't want him to be angry over something so stupid..."
Randy glared at John and Sheamus while Matt kept his gaze on Evan, slightly let down by his words, but the tense atmosphere was broken by a bleating laugh.
"These humans are hilarious! Can we keep them?" Daniel asked, looking at Kane and 'Taker as he did so.
Both brothers only glared at him, "No."
The goat man's happy smile disappeared into a pout and he crossed his arms, turning his back to them. "I don't like you guys anymore."
"You never did." Kane sighed with a roll of his eyes.
"Sheamus, I want you to take me back home right now." Randy demanded of the vampire, who only frowned and breathed out heavily.
"That may be a problem, fella. Oi can't make such large trips in such little time. Also, this quest is on a rather strict schedule. The more we put off findin' the fields, the higher Jeff's chances are o' dyin'."
Randy looked like he could burst a vein.
"Look, Randy, right?" John asked as he took a step to the teen, but only managed to make his glare turn to him. "Geez, I thought kids weren't supposed to be scary..." He muttered to himself, but shook his head and steeled his resolve. "Jeff needs help. The Fields of Gold can give it to him."
"I don't care about Jeff. I don't care about this convoluted plan! I don't care about any of this!" Randy yelled, "I just want to go back home before my parents start thinking I was the one that took the truck on a joy-ride!"
Suddenly the room's temperature became so cold that Evan began shivering. As Randy breathed heavily, he could see his own breath. Daniel squeaked at the change and hid behind Kane and Undertaker, seemingly knowing what was going on.
"Ye, Randall Orton, are the kind o' person that gives humans a bad name." Sheamus glared darkly at him, his usually bright green eyes now a steely blue.
And his skin was a light blue now, the pale had been driven away.
"This is a quest ta save the life o' a boy that has yet ta live!" The vampire was suddenly in front of the teen, grasping his shirt's collar tightly. "Now, Oi don't care if ye want ta be here or not anymore! Yer thoughts don't matter!"
He pushed the boy away, who stumbled into Jeff's arms, and turned away, "But ye will stay ta help. No more of yer pessimism. Unless ye want ta be knocked out fer most of the venture."
As soon as these words had been uttered, the cold atmosphere of the room vanished and the temperature was back to normal. Randy continued staring, wide-eyed, at the vampire that had just threatened him while Jeff blinked in shock, unsure of what to do with the boy in his arms.
And Evan and Matt?
Well, these two were just happy that they had managed to stay on the vampire's good side the whole the time they had known him.
"So, Cena, get yer things packed. Ye'll be leadin' us ta Lucifer's den." Sheamus smiled at the hybrid, who gave him a nervous one as his answer.
"Uh... Sure... Whatever you say, Sheam-O."
So... It's been a pretty long time since I updated this, huh?
I'm so very sorry for keeping you waiting for so long, but I've not been able to watch wrestling for so long. But I just recently got into the flow of things once more and I've got to say- I love Sheamus' new look!
But, please review. And I promise I will try my best to continue updating and actually finish this story.
