Chapter 9

*4 years later when Selena is 19 and she is still living among Robin and his men. Still trying to find a way to where her mother is.*

It was early in the morning when Robin poked his head through Roland and Selenas tent. When he noticed Roland not in his bed and it was not touched. He looked towards Selena and noticed his little merry man all snuggled up next to her. He was fast asleep , Robin smiled as he noticed how close he was with Selena. It will be hard for him to say goodbye to her when the time comes for her to find her mother. Robin leaves and makes a start on breakfast with the help of Lil John. For breakfast they made porridge and they added berries which they picked from the creek.

Roland slowly woke and was bursting with energy, he sat up and looked at Selena who was still asleep. Roland slowly poked Selena in the cheek. Selena smiled but still had her eyes closed so he poked her again, but this time she opened her eyes and pulled him back down on the bed and tickled him. Roland was laughing so much that tears formed but Selena stopped. "Good morning, Mr giggles. " Selena said with a big smile. Roland giggled and jumped up. "Morning! can I watch you with Mulan today" Roland asked and he fiddled with her hair. Selena smiled and nodded her head. "Of course you can, so lets get ready." Roland smiled and jumped out of the bed. Selena helped Roland get dressed and after he ran out to see his papa. Selena fixes her bed and gets ready and fixes her hair. After she leaves her tent and greets Robin, Mulan and Lil John. "Good morning." She says with a smile. All three of them turn around and greet her. They all sit down and eat breakfast, after Mulan takes the dishes and goes to the lake and washes the dishes, while Robin and Selena played with Roland. "Papa , Selena said I could watch her when Mulan teaches her how fight with a sword." Roland told his father. Robin smirked "Oh and how about me , can I watch?" Roland nodded with a big cheesy grin, but his grin faded when he thought of Selena. "Selena wont get hurt papa, would she?" Roland asked as he tugged his papas tunic. Robin gave Roland a reassuring smile "No my dear boy nothing will happen to Selena." Selenas heart warmed hearing the concern that came from Roland.

Mulan came back with the clean dishes and placed them back in the satchel. "Are you ready, young lady?" Selena smiled and stood up prepared for her lesson. Mulan took out a sword with a red gem on the hilt. Mulan handed it to Selena "Wow its beautiful." Selena said with amazement as she admired it. Mulan showed her the stance and taught her to block. Mulan gave her a few blows so that she could block the attacks. After a while she taught Selena not to lunge because someone could cause harm to her that way. They started practicing more and Mulan's attacks gained speed and Selena was blocking every one. Roland began cheering and Robin was impressed that she was learning very quickly. Mulan tries to tackle Selena to win their little battle, but Selena counters and Mulan falls giving Selena Victory. Selena smiled and thanked Mulan and helped her up. Roland and Robin were gleaming and Robin felt very proud. "Selena ! you did it." Roland shouted as he ran up to Selena. Selena smiled and gave the sword back to Mulan. "You can keep it, its my gift to you." Selena's eyes widened with shock. "R-really?" Selena asked surprised. Mulan laughed "Yes , you need something to protect yourself with." Selena smiled she was gleaming she took the sword back and thanked Mulan with a hug.

*A few weeks go by*

Selena went to the lake to pick some berries for tomorrows porridge while Roland was having his nap. She heard rustling coming from the bushes and voices. She went to get a better look, she hid behind a tree and noticed a male figure and also a female figure. She recognised both figures and tried to move closer so that she could hear what they were saying. As she tried to move forward she felt a hand cover her mouth and pull her back. She was shocked and relieved to find that it was only Robin. "What are you doing? the could have noticed you!" Robin said concerned. Selena looked down at her hands "I kind of know them , one of them I wish I never knew." Robins concerned look grew curious. "Who are they?" He asked as he glanced back towards the figures who were deep in conversation. The female figure seemed to look very dark and medieval. "Well..you know when I told you my story?" Robin nodded urging her to continue. "That man is captain hook the man who saved me from the woman next to him Cora." Robin's eyes nearly bulged out. "Why would he be working with that witch." Robin said worried about what would have happened if they caught her. "I-I don't know but I thought he might have an idea on how to find my mother." She told him with a hint of hope. Robin smiled slightly and reassured Selena. "Well we could follow them to see what they are up to," Robin said as he tried to lighten the mood. Selena looked up at him "But you don't know what she's capable of , I don't want her to hurt you." Robin put his hand on her shoulder "Nothing will happen to me , I have you to protect me." He said with a wink. She laughed and felt reassured. "Would you really do that for me." She asked with a sparkle in her eyes. "Yes I would, I want you to be reunited with your mother." He said as he noticed tears forming in her eyes. Selena smiled with gratitude and hugged him. "What happens if she doesn't love me or even believe me." Selena said as the tears fell. Robin wiped her tears away "She will love you, who wouldn't love a caring loving and kind young lady such as yourself." Selena smiled and hugged him again. "Thank you."

They both arrive back at the camp and were greeted by Roland who ran up to Selena and gave her a big hug. Robin smiled and then realised how much his son is going to miss her. "Roland could you give these berries to Lil John." She asked him. Roland nodded and took the bowl of berries out of her hand and went to find Lil John. "We will leave in 2 days." Robin smiled as if he knew what she was going to ask him. Selena smiled and went to help Lil John with supper.
