AN: I hope you enjoyed the last chapter. Thank you for the favourites and follows . I have also updated chapter 9 , to let you know how many years have gone by and how old Selena is. If you haven't seen it then last chapter it was 4 years later and Selena is 19 years old.

Chapter 10

The next morning Selena woke but no one was awake, even little Roland was fast asleep. So she got dressed and left her tent. She decided to prepare breakfast for everyone as a thank you. She looked through the bag of supplies and found some vegetables. Selena smiled as she thought soup would be nice and it would also be a difference from having porridge. She put the water to boil and peeled and minced the vegetables. While the water was boiling she went into the woods to find some herbs. Selena found some rosemary and started picking some. When she came back the water was boiled so she added the rosemary and vegetables. The smell of the soup smelled luscious, it wafted through the camp.

There was footsteps coming from behind her and she tenses up and grabs the closest thing next to her which is a wooden spoon. "Something smells divine." The stranger said, but it caught Selena off guard and she turned with the spoon ready to attack. It was Robin, well don't I look stupid. Selena thought to herself. Robin began to laugh "I better be careful that spoon would do a lot of damage." Selena rolled her eyes and also began to laugh. "I thought id make breakfast today as a thank you." Robin smiled "That is so sweet of you." Selena smiled and turned to stir the soup, she tasted it to see if it had enough flavour. It was just right, Robin was curious as to how the soup tasted. Selena smirked and gave the wooden spoon to Robin to taste her soup. Robins eyes widened "Wow this fantastic." He exclaimed. Selenas smile widened "You really like it?" Selena replied back as she took the spoon and continued to stir the soup. Robin smiled and nodded "Yes, where did you learn to cook like that?" Selena smiled and went shy but she felt all her memories come flooding back. " My papa used to cook it and I used to watch and sometimes help him."

The soup was nearly ready and Selena and Robin noticed the men waking. Mulan came out and went into Roland and Selenas tent. In a few minutes Roland came running out and went to greet his papa. He cuddled his papa and Robin started to tickle him, Roland burst out with hysterical laughter. After a while Robin set Roland down and he went to greet Selena. He asked her what she was cooking . Selena smiled "Im making a vegetable soup." Roland smiled and gave her a hug. "I cant wait, I bet its yummy." Roland said as he helped her with the soup. The soup was ready and Roland helped get the bowls, Selena filled them with soup and he handed it out to everyone. They all eat and thank Selena for the soup, they love the special ingredient that she put in the soup. After breakfast Mulan cleaned up all the dishes and pot that contained the soup seen as it was her turn to clean. Selena went to play with Roland, she felt sad that she was going to leave him. Goodbyes were never easy for her, but she was hoping to see him again if she ever came back with her mum. They were playing the princess and the knight. Roland didn't know that Selena was actually a princess, Selena didn't see herself as a princess.

Selena tucked Roland in for his nap and after she sat by the fire. So many things go through Selenas mind what if she doesn't want me or like me, how am I going to say goodbye to Roland. What if Cora goes to my mother and brainwashes her. So many things were going through her mind but Robin pulled her out of her thoughts when he sat next to her. "Are you ok Selena?" Robin asked noticing she was deep in thought. Selena nodded and smiled. " Im going to miss Roland." She told him as she looked down at her feet. Robin smiled "He is going to miss you too." Robin the got up and went to his tent, Selena looked back at her hands. Robin came back with something hidden , Selena looked up curiously. Mulan watched from near her tent. Robin smiled " I have a little something for you, so you can remember us by." Selena smiled as tears welled in her eyes. Robin held out her gift, Selenas eyes widened as see saw her gift was a bow and arrow. " Oh my god, its beautiful but you shouldn't have. " She said still shocked. Robin smiled "So you like it?" Selena exclaimed "Like it, I love it." She ran and thanked Robin for her gift . She gave him a tight hug. Robin whispered "Why don't we go practice and we could also catch something for dinner." Selena smiled and replied back with a nod. She put her arrows around her waist and her bow over her shoulder. They told Mulan where they were going and that they wont be long.

They decided that the lake was the best place to practice and hunt for dinner. Selena found more rosemary and thought it would go with what they hunted. Robin was giving her a refresher oh how to use the bow and arrow. Selena remembered and Robin carved a target on a tree, and told Selena to get used to her bow. When Robin was finished he moved near Selena to she her as she practiced. Her bow was a natural beech colour with beautiful carvings on it. There were little flowers and vines carved and near the top of the bow was a little lion carving with two R's on either side. The bow was elegant, Selena loved the lion and the two R's it was a reminder of Robin and Roland. Selenas eyes watered as she felt overwhelmed. She pulled out an arrow which also was the same colour and had vines and flowers it. She put her arrow on her bowstring and adjusted it, she then pulled it back. She remembered what Robin taught her, she relaxed and aimed forgetting that Robin was watching. When she was ready she let go and watched as the arrow hit the target right in the middle. Selena shot another two which also hit the middle. Robin had a grin from ear to ear " I wonder who taught you how to fire an arrow like that." He said with a wink. Selena smiled and replied back with a smirk, "I learnt from the best."

Selena asked Robin if the men and Roland like fish, Robin smiled and told her that they do. Selena smiled and went straight to work, she pulled out her arrows from the tree and went to the lake. Selena spots a trout , she readies her arrow and aims and shoots , success she caught it. She felt bad for the animal but she needed to feed the camp. She took the arrow with the fish on it and took it off. Robin smiled and nodded with approval. He got ready too and they both hunted dinner. They made sure not to scare the rest of the fish. They finally caught enough for the camp and sat by the lake and cleaned their arrows. They hear footsteps coming towards them they quickly get armed and wait for whoever is approaching. They waited as a big figure appeared, Selena watched as Robin relaxed his hand and put his bow down. Selena then put her bow down and watched as the big figure was Lil John. Selena watched Robin and Lil John, she noticed how every once in a while he would glance at her with a smirk. Selena thought Lil John was acting weird and kept an eye on him as she continued to clean her arrows. Lil john stopped talking with Robin and helped put the fish in a bag. This was Selenas chance to tell Robin about this imposter who is impersonating Lil John. She slowly got up and pretended to get Robins arrows to clean them too. As she faced him she whispered so only he could hear her. " Robin, I have a strong feeling that this person is not Lil John." Robins eyes widened and before it was too late he saw the imposter change from Lil John to Cora. He tried to pull Selena behind him so he could protect her but it was too late. Cora used her magic to throw Selena against the tree and bind her with magic so she couldn't move. Robin was also frozen to his spot, he couldn't move but he fought hard against the magic but nothing. Cora started moving closer to Selena. "W-What do you want?" Selena asked weakly as she tried to push the pain away. Cora just smirked and continued " It's a shame you couldn't find your mother here, she is in Storybrooke." Selena looked towards Cora with anger. The restraints tightened and Selena gritted her teeth in pain. " Didn't your mother teach you not to be rude, oopps I forgot you don't have one." Cora stated as she laughed.

Robin began to get angry and tried to be free of the bonds. Selena looked towards Robin and saw the hatred in his eyes. She turns back to Cora with determination and spits out "You wont win, and I will see my mother and I will get rid of you no matter what!" Cora saw red and gave Selena the back hand causing her to spit out blood from her mouth. Robin was fighting even more with the bonds and couldn't bare to she this girl get attacked by her evil witch of a grandmother. Cora slowly tightened the bonds around Selena causing her both pain and suffocation. "PLEASE JUST STOP!" Robin shouted out as he could bare what was happening. Cora turned around with a smirk playing on her lips. She released the spell off of Selena which made her fall to the floor and cough as she gained oxygen back in her body. Cora slowly approached Robin tormenting him. "Who are you to give orders to me!" Cora bellowed. Robin looked at her deep into her hell fire eyes, Selena slowly got up and moved quietly behind the trees till she was behind Robin. "Im an outlaw, who doesn't take orders from royals like you. He said with every bit of his anger shown. " Nobody harms anyone I care about." Selena felt a pang in her heart, she noticed Coras lip twitch and knew what was going to happen. She quickly ran out from behind the tree just as Cora lifted her hand so she could rip out Robins heart. Selena felt a surge of energy and rage fill within her as she threw her hands out towards Cora she felt all the power leave her body. With that Cora got thrown backwards from the force and with that she was gone in a puff of smoke. Selena was in shock and just stared at her hands. Robin gained his footing and made his way to Selena to see if she was ok. He couldn't believe what he just saw.

Selena felt drained and was slowly weakening. She felt like all her energy and emotions were draining out, numbness coming and she fell on her knees. Robin caught her in time and held her. "Your safe Selena , I wont let nothing harm you never again." Selena smiled weakly and slowly let out a "Thank you." She felt the darkness surround her and she was losing strength. She felt Robin call for Mulan to help. He scooped her up and that's all Selena remembered before the darkness took over and everything went black.
