Chapter 11

She doesn't want you! She doesn't need you! Love is weakness! You don't have a mother! I will destroy you! She doesn't want you! Love is weakness! She doesn't need you! You don't have a mother! I will destroy you!

Selena woke up crying and shaky. She was looking around to see where she was and noticed Roland also sitting up with a concerned look on his face. Roland jumped out of bed and walked to Selena. "Are you ok Selena?" He asked as he sat on the side of the bed. Selenas voice came out hoarse "Yes, sorry I woke you." Selena scooted over on the bed , she noticed Roland wanting to join her. Roland jumped in next to her and cuddled her. Selena smiled and returned the hug. "Ill keep you safe Selena." He said like a grown up. Selena could help but push back the tears that were threatening to spill. He looked at her and wiped a stray tear that fell, with his small soft hands. They both lay back down and Roland snuggled closer to Selena and played with her hair. "Roland, I- I need to tell you something , but I want you to be strong. Ok?" Roland looked up at her and nodded. " Do you remember that story I told you?" She said nervously. Roland nodded again " Where the girl was trying to find her mummy." Selena smiled slightly as he remembered. "Yes that one, well that girl was me." She told him carefully. Rolands eyes widened "So you are looking for your mummy? But I thought you was going to stay here." Roland began to sadden as he knew where this was going. He was a smart little boy and Robin raised him well. "Yes I'm looking for my mum , but I will come back." She said having a feeling that one day they will be together again. Roland looked up with sad eyes "How will I know you will come back? I hope you find your mummy." "You will know because you are a merry man and you have to be strong, and also because I want you to look after my bow and arrow so you know I will be back." Selena told him in a reassuring tone. Roland smiled and he had hope in his eyes that she will come back. He snuggled closer to her and she stroked his hair so he could sleep again and also relax. Within minutes Roland was fast asleep and so was Selena.

When Selena woke up , Roland was still fast asleep. She slowly moved trying not wake him. She slipped out of the bed and poked her head out from the tent, to see if anybody was awake. Mulan had just rode in to camp , she was carrying something in a satchel. Mulan notices Selena and gestures her to go to her. Selena went and greeted her and Mulan did the same. "I have brought you something for your journey, I hope you like it." She told Selena with a smile. Selena smiled "Im sure ill love it." And she took the bag from Mulan. She opened the bag and found a new outfit. "Oh my, I love it! Thank you Mulan I love it." Selena was over the moon. "I will be right no, one would be up yet will they." Mulan shook her head "No, if you are going to freshen up and change then ill keep guard." Selena smiled and nodded "Ok I wont be long." Selena went up to the lake, the memories of the other day came back which caused her to shudder. She took of the clothes she had been wearing, She poked her foot into the lake , it was warm so she slowly slipped in. The water soothed her and she felt relaxed she dipped her head under so she could wet her hair. Selenas dark curly hair had gotten longer it was up to her elbows. She swam around for a while enjoying the feeling. She got out of the lake and quickly put on her bra and panties. She then looked in the bag and took out her new outfit.

It was amazing and beautifully made. First she put on the black leggings and socks then she put on a gorgeous cream gypsy style blouse with red embroidery on the sleeves. The blouse was very elegant and didn't show too much cleavage. She tucked the blouse into the leggings and pulled out a black buckled under bust corset, she struggled a little as she was putting it on but got there in the end. Selena then put on the black buckled thigh high boots which hooked onto the suspenders that was attached to the leggings. She then pulled out a beautiful unique burgundy bolero jacket with cream embroidery on the sleeves and front edging also going down. There were slits on the sleeves of the bolero jacket. She looked like an adventurist and also a beautiful young lady like her mother. Her hair was drying and the curls began to spring up. She got her old clothes and washed them , when she was finished she took her belongings back to the camp. All that was missing from her outfit was her sword. Selena lay her washed clothing by the fire so it would dry. "It suits you." Mulan said as she came out from Roland and her tent. Her outfit fit perfectly to her body. Selena was slim and curvy and she looked stunning in her travelling outfit. The merry men came out and was also getting ready to go on their separate journeys. Lil John whistled and winked as he saw Selena, he teased her most times. Lil John was getting ready to ride into the village to help the poor. Selena walked up to him "Lil John I just wanted to say goodbye and thank you for everything. " with that she hugged him. Lil John was like a big soft teddy bear, he looked strong on the outside but he was the most caring man she had ever met including Robin. Robin came out of his tent and saw Selena , his jaw fell wide. "Selena you look beautiful." He complimented her, Selena bowed her head down as she blushed.

"Did you sleep well last night Selena?" Robin asked as he remembered what happened and her outburst with Cora. Selena knew she couldn't lie to Robin, as she opened her mouth to answer Roland cried and screamed out her name. Robin and Selena ran into the tent to see Roland all distressed as he sat up on Selena's bed. "Selena!" He exclaimed as he stood on the bed. Selena went to him and picked him up. Robin knew that Roland knew what was happening and that Selena might have told him. She wouldn't lie to him. Robin just watched as Selena calmed his son down. Roland hid his head in the crook of her neck still crying. "Roland what's the matter." She asked him concerned as she rubbed circles on his back. "I-I th-ought you left meee." He said between cries. Selenas heart broke when she heard that. "Oh noo Roland I would never leave without saying goodbye, now no more crying my little merry man." Selena told him gently as she wiped his tears away. Roland smiled slightly "I love you Selena , I wish you could stay here or find your mama and come back." He told her as he fiddled with her hair. "I love you too, now lets get you dressed." She told him as she tried to stand him up on the bed but he wrapped his legs around her waist. Selena started to laugh and Robin walked towards them both. "Come on little man, lets get you dressed." Roland looked at his papa and opened his arms. Robin took him from Selena and nodded as if to say it was ok.

Selena left the tent and thought of something to do , suddenly she thought of going to the market and getting Roland a gift to remember her by. She had little money when she stole from a duke and duchess. She went up to Mulan "Would it be ok if I borrowed your horse? I want to go to the market." Mulan smiled and nodded "But im coming with you." Selena laughed and agreed to Mulan's proposal. Selena went on Mulans horse and Mulan went on Lil Johns horse. They both rode into the market, they tied the horses up and went around. "What are you looking for?" Mulan asked curious to what Selena was looking for. Selena smirked and walked up to the toy stall answering Mulans question. Selena looked to find something that Roland will remember her by. Selena found the best gift it was a rabbit with a blue waistcoat. "It's perfect." Selena smiled and looked at the price, she also picked up a red dream catcher for Roland too. She had enough to buy both. "Do you think he will like it?" She asked Mulan. Mulan smiled and nodded "He will love it, like he loves you. You know this will be a hard goodbye." Selena smile faded slightly "I will miss him too well all of you, you all have been so kind but I need to find my mother." Selena said thinking about the years that she had spent with Robin and the merry men. She paid for both gifts and they left the market riding back to the hideout.

When they came back to camp Robin and Roland came out of the tent. Selena and Mulan had a smile upon their faces. They both walked to the logs by the fire and sat down. Robin went and sat next to Mulan. Roland ran up to Selena "Where did you go Selena?" He asked innocently. Selena smiled and held out her hand for him to take it. Roland took her hand as she guided him to her. "I have bought you a little something to remember me by." Rolands eyes widened as he heard she got him something. "Selena you shouldn't have." Robin told her thoughtfully. Selena took the satchel and gave it to Roland. Roland took the bag and opened it. He noticed something big and he pulled it out , he was gleaming like the sun. He snuggled the rabbit. "Wow I love him, thank you Selena." He exclaimed. "Your welcome, what are you going to name him?" Roland thought about it and finally came up with a name. "His name is Peter, Peter rabbit." Selena smiled "That's a lovely name. You have another gift in there." With that Rolands eyes grew wider than they were the first time. He pulled out the catcher. "It's a dream catcher, it protects you and takes the bad dreams away." She smiled taking Rolands hands in her own. "I love it , thank you." He replied gratefully. "A-nd also for you to know that I may not be here but like this dream catcher I will always be with you and keep you safe." Selena teared up as she said those word while his little chocolate brown eyes were listening to every word. "I love you Selena!" He told her as he wrapped his arms around her neck , Selena returned the embrace. "I love you too, I always will." She told him as a few tears escaped.
