Chapter 12

Robin stood up and walked over to Roland. "The time has come lil man, we have to go now." Roland looked towards Selena, his bottom lip began to quiver. He threw himself at Selena and began to sob. Selena held him tight and reminded him what they spoke about in their tent. She couldn't hold back the tears anymore. Robin felt his heart break to see his son be upset, he had formed an inseparable bond with Selena. He went to say goodbye to Mulan. Mulan and Roland was going back to Rumplestiltskin's castle. Roland held onto Selena tightly wishing she would never leave him." I-I want you to take your bow and arrows." Selena understood but asked "Are you sure? How will you remember me?" Roland looked at her , his eyes red and puffy. He put his hand on her cheek and wiped her tears away. "You bought me those beautiful gifts, I wont ever forget you." He placed a kiss on her cheek. Selena smiled and returned the kiss. " Look after your papa, ok" She slowly let go of him and looked to Robin. Roland promised and then ran to his papa to bid him farewell.

Selena hugged Mulan and thanked her for everything, Roland told his papa to look after Selena. Roland quickly wriggled out of Robins hold and ran to the tent, he grabbed Selena's bow and arrows and gave them to her. Robin hugs his son again and places a kiss on his head. Robin then mounts his horse and waits for selena to mount hers. Selena looked like a warrior, she had her sword on her left and her quiver on her right as her bow was placed on her back. Roland quickly ran up to her and gave her one last hug before she mounted her horse. " You look pretty, I forgot to tell you." He said shyly. "Thank you, my handsome little merry man." She said with a wink. Mulan took Roland from Selena as he tried to cling on to her. She climbed on her horse, "I love you!" she yelled out tears welling in her eyes. This was harder than she thought. Roland turned in Mulan's arms "I love you too and ill never forget you!" He shouted back as he began to cry again Selena turned around one last time and blew Roland a kiss and they rode off. Selena couldn't contain her emotions. The tears spilled and she quickly wiped with her sleeve so Robin wouldn't think she was weak; but he noticed. Her hair fell slightly and covered her face.

They rode side by side, he reached out and put his hand on hers. She looked up at him her eyes bloodshot. "It was nice to have a little brother, I didn't feel alone or unloved." She told him quietly. Robin smiled and squeezed her hand , he was about to reply back but spotted something on the path. Robin jumped off his horse to get a closer look. Selena gets off her horse and goes to have a look. "It's foot prints, and there's two sets." Robin informed her. Selena looked closer and noticed one pair had heel and looked like a feminine shoe. She knew it was Cora and Hook's foot prints. "It's them, I know it is." She told Robin positively. Robin smiled "And so our journey begins." Selena smiled and climbed on her horse as did Robin. They went further into the woods. It was the afternoon, all the trees were dancing in the sun. As they rode down the path Selena glanced back. I swear I just saw someone. Selena shook her head and focused on where they were going. Selena couldn't help but feel like they were being followed.

Robin suggested that they go and make camp. Selena agreed and followed Robin, they kept going until they found a place that looked safe. Selena and Robin dismounted their horses and tied them to a tree. Robin went to look around to make sure that this place was safe to make camp. Selena looked around, a rustling noice came from behind her. She looked around and looked to Robin who also heard the rustling. He gets his bow and arrow ready. The rustling increases and is all around the camp, Selena also pulls out her bow and arrow ready for what is to come. Robin and Selena are back to back. "Well well well, look who I found." The stranger said as he came out of the bushes as his eyes were fixed on Selena. Robin stayed in his place and held his arrow aimed at the man ready. The man came closer his eyes still on Selena . "What do you want?" Selena asked. Why is he looking at me like that? He ignored her question " Lads, come out I found her." He yelled towards the bushes. The rustling began and nine other men came out. They were wearing dark clothes and looked like they meant business. Robin and Selena were surrounded "What do you want?" Robin asked protectively. The leader of the bandits took another step towards Selena. "We want the Queen, and now we have found her she will get what she deserves." Selena furrowed her brow in confusion, "Queen?" Both Robin and Selena said in unison. "Im no Queen, my name is Selena." She told them. The leader laughed "Yeah right." Robin was getting irritated and was ready to fire his arrow into the leaders chest. "She is telling you the truth, and we don't want to hurt you." Robin informed them. "You should be the one not wanting to get hurt. Now if you would be so kind , we will take the Queen and be off." The man said smugly, clearly trying to push robins buttons. Robin turned to the men who held daggers and swords with full determination. " Over my dead body, mate." And this time it was robins turn to give a smug look.

They came closer and some charged, Selena and Robin shot one man each. They were all scattered, so Robin and Selena put their bows on their back and pulled out their swords. They fought hard but these men were never going to back down. Five more men came out from the trees, Robin looked around to see how many men they had to deal with. There were thirteen men in total, Robin looked to Selena who was trying to fend off four men who surrounded her. She fought off two but had another two to dispose of. One of the men came at her with a dagger whilst the other circled her, she tried to dodge him but he kneed his in the ribs leaving her winded. Robin quickly shot the other man who was going to attack her, as she was distracted the man with a swift move cut her right cheek. She didn't feel the pain yet but instead she felt the rage build up inside. She swung her sword and slashed his side the man fell to his knees and put his hand on his side. She glanced to Robin to see if he was ok or needed help, Robin was a much better swordsman than her. There was only four men left or so she thought. She didn't notice the man she wounded standing behind her and as she turned he plunged the dagger in her left side. "SELENA!" Robin yelled as he plunged his sword into the men around him , finishing them off. The man countered Selena's attack taking her sword from her ready to finish her off, but an arrow flew out from the bushes and hit the bandit straight in the head.

Selena fell on her knees feeling the sudden drain of energy. She felt the pain from both her side and cheek kick in. she was weakening and looked towards Robin who took down the last bandits. Spots of black were forming in her vision. Robin yelled her name and caught her just in time as she fell backwards. He put pressure on her wound to stop the blood. He ripped the bottom of his shirt and tied it tightly across her waist. Selena seared in pain but her face was facing the bush where the arrow came from. "You are going to be alright Selena, I promise." He told her as he tried to be strong. T-they thought she was her mother Queen Regina. The rustling began again, Robin grabbed his bow and pulled out an arrow that was on a nearby body. "Who's there? Show yourself." He demanded. The figure came out of the bushes with a crossbow In his hand. Selena tried to get out a sentence but the pain was increasing, "H-he s-saved me." She breathed out before she went unconscious. Before she let the darkness consume her she his sparkling emerald green eyes. "I don't mean any harm, I am Alec Krane." He said as he looked concerned towards Selena's unconscious form.
