Chapter 17
Rays of sunlight shone into Selena's closed eyes. Selena began to stir, all the colour had come back and she looked healthy. As Selena opened her eyes she noticed her mothers sleeping form curled up on a chair next to her bed. Selena pushes herself into a sitting position, as she gets comfortable Regina begins to stir and awakens. "Good morning my sleepy head." Regina says lovingly as she gets up out of the chair and sits on the end of the bed. Selena smiled and replied back to her mother. "Good morning." She giggled when she noticed that some of her mothers hair was sticking up. Selena lent forward and fixed her hair. " How are you feeling?" Regina asked as she was concerned for her daughters health. Selena smiled at how her mother was concerned about her. "Im much better, but my body feels sore from the battle; but I'm ok." Selena looks around and confusion is shown on her face. "Where am I?" Regina puts her hand on top of Selena's. "You are home, snows husband helped carry you to your room." Selena's eyes widen. "T-This is my room?" Regina smiles and nods. "Its beautiful, thank you mum." Regina notices how Selena's eye begin to glisten. "Selena Im sorry I didn't believe you, I cant believe my mother used me and tricked me; but I promise no one will hurt you. We are together now." Regina's eyes were now full of tears. Selena throws herself to her mother as they embrace each other. "There is nothing to apologise for. I love you mum." Tears fall freely from both of them. Regina leans back to look at Selena and cups both her cheeks and wipes Selena's tears away. "Come on lets get ready and have breakfast, you must be hungry." Regina says as she places a kiss to Selena's forehead. "How long have I been asleep?" Selena asked curiously. "you have been asleep for a day. Come on I'll show you around." Selena slowly got out of bed and followed her mother. Regina showed her around and told her that she has put clothes in her wardrobe. Selena thanks her mother and goes back upstairs to get ready.
After Selena freshened up and fixed her hair she went back to her room to pick an outfit for the day. As she opened the wardrobe there was a selection of outfits. Selena chose a pair of black jeans with a black cami top. Selena chose a burgundy blazer and black spiked and studded ankle boots. When she was ready she made her way downstairs. Wow! This house is big, I feel so lost. Selena listened to see if she could hear any movement from her mother, when she heard banging she followed the noise which led her to the kitchen. Selena stood in the doorway as she watched her mother cook. Regina sensed a presence and turned to find Selena watching from the doorway. Regina gestures for Selena to come in. "Im making pancakes, I hope you like them." Regina smiled as she put the last pancake on the plate. Selena helped Regina put the plates and syrup on the dining room table. They both sat down and ate, Selena had hers with syrup and Regina with cinnamon and apples.
Later that day Henry pops over like Regina promised him. Regina introduced Selena to her younger brother. Regina was making herself and Selena a tea and Henry a hot choco with cinnamon. They sat in the living room and listened to Selena talk about her journey to find her mother. Regina never brought up the torture. Henry began to ask questions about the enchanted forest, Robin Hood, if she had any battle scars and also about Alec. Selena answered all the questions willingly but when it came to Alec she looked nervous and overwhelmed. Henry notices her change of expression. "You don't have to tell me, I didn't think." Henry didn't finish because Selena put a reassuring hand on top of his. "Its ok you were curious." Selena tells Henry and her mother about Alec, and how he helped her and Robin. She lightly touches how they got close and how they parted. Regina noticed how it was hard for her to talk about Alec, and thought she will comfort and talk with her about it but later. "Wait how do you know about Alec?" Selena asked curious to know seen as nobody knows about Alec. Henry looks guiltily and goes to grab his book. When he comes back he opens the chapter of Selena's story, and shows it to her. Selena reads through what was written, everything that had happened was in this book. As she turns the page there was a picture of Alec and herself kissing goodbye. Selena's eyes glazed over as she brushed a finger over Alec. She then gave Henry the book back. "So…how did you adopt Henry?" Selena asked as she tried to compose herself. Regina told her the story and also that she is infertile.
Later on that day Henry and Regina introduce Selena to electricity. Selena took to the gadgets quickly. "You're a quick learner." Henry told his sister with a smile. Regina was happy to see her children interacting like they have known each other for a long time. She pulled both Selena and Henry in and gave them a hug. "I love you both with all my heart." Selena and Henry replied back in unison "We love you too."
The day went well Regina, Henry and Selena were bonding. Now they were watching a movie. Henry and Selena were sat on either side of their mother. They were watching a movie called 'mortal instruments'. As the movie was coming to an end Regina looked over to Henry and Selena to find them asleep snuggled into her sides. Regina sighed she was truly happy. I cant believe Im finally getting my happy ending, both my children with me. Regina lent down and pressed a kiss to their foreheads and put on another movie.
But little did Regina know that there was someone waiting or trying to come and take it away in an instant. TBC
A/N- Thank you for reading my fanfic. Do you think I should write a sequel and see if Selena is reunited with her true love? And who wants to ruin Regina's happiness? This sequel will start when Zelena is defeated the first time but will be touched in the first chapter. Let me know what you think.
