I do not own the Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. It belongs to Nintendo.

Talent

by Carlson

He is winsome. He could charm the pants off of anyone, not that he ever wanted to. He never got a chance to put his talents to the test, though. He was stuck in the middle of the ocean surrounded by buffoons. He sits atop a barrel filled with gunpowder, observing the lives of his fellow crewmembers.

"I'm gonna get me your loot," snickers one, rolling dice. He finds that the crew is prone to gambling, especially with each other. The dice hit the floor. There is a cheer.

"You ain't gettin' a single ounce of my treasure!" cries the victor, collecting his winnings. His opponent stares at the dice, the symbol of his defeat.

"I'll get it someday, you know that, right?"

The dashing man turns his vision away from the game. He watches the smallest of the crew being beat up by the largest. He sees the most intelligent creating an intricate map of the ship. He sighs. He will never get a chance to put his talents to the test.
