Wow the response to this is AMAZING. I'll keep trying to update this as much as fast as possible. Thank you as well for all of the follows on Tumblr(puppetofmasters). I'll be working with our Puppet model soon for some more images to go along with the story. Also, if you have never seen Game Theory's theory of Five Nights at Freddy's 2, I suggest you watch it. Not only is it a great watch, a lot of it plays into the supposed true timeline/story of Five Nights at Freddy's added into my own (which I want to get around into writing at some point).
The day seemed to fly by, the various children and their parties passing in a blur. The restaurant was closed and I had finished returning my family members to their respective places. Chica was the one I kept my eye on in particular, making sure I hadn't damaged any of her normal functions. The manager was escorting me to my box, music box in hand. He placed it on the shelf and turned to me. I just smiled at him and wished him a good evening. He just stared at me before leaving the room without saying a word. I couldn't be surprised. No one treated me as anything more than wires and circuits.
Except him.
I crawled into my box, knowing that it wouldn't be too long before he would be coming in for his shift. But my body was starting to feel weak. I opened the top of my dress and retrieved a wire from under my blanket. I placed the wire into the open port, feeling a sudden surge of electricity. This mode was the closest I would ever get to what humans called "dreaming." Normally I would see things from the day that I may have missed at the time, almost like surveillance footage. I was only set to charge for so long before I would reinitialize. The room slowly faded and I slipped into the darkness of my memories.
I saw the restaurant, empty despite the setting sun outside. The sight confused me as it was not from today. In fact, this dining room seemed slightly different. A party had taken place but no one had cleaned it up. I looked around, searching for my family. They were nowhere to be seen. No lighting seemed to be working either. Why didn't I know what was going on? I turned to see a blinking light coming from the end of the hallway. It seemed to be coming from a door around the corner. My feet were on route before I knew it.
Squish
I stopped about halfway down the hallway upon hearing that noise under my feet. My eyes moved to the ground, foot moving to the side. There was a dark liquid seeping into the carpet. I knelt down, letting my fingertips become coated. Raising my fingers to up, I was able to determine the liquid's identity: blood.
Why was there blood on the ground?
I continued my search, noting that there was a decent amount of blood preceding me. Where did it come from? I turned the corner, suddenly coming face to face with Freddy. He was just standing there, unmoving towards the doorway. It registered in my brain that this was not the newer model of Freddy. It was the original but he wasn't withered. He appeared almost new.
"Freddy?"
I realized where I was standing. This was the one room inaccessible to all of the animatronics with the exception of myself. A safe room as it were. He didn't acknowledge me, just continued to look into the open doorway. What was he staring at? I walked past him into the room. Not even five feet in, I was frozen in place.
Bodies. Five of them.
There were five dead children on the floor of the Safe Room. I fell to the ground, my circuits not knowing how to process this image. I wasn't built to handle this situation. How did this happen?! I managed to send signals to my limbs to start crawling towards the unmoving children. Maybe they weren't all dead? Maybe…just maybe…there was a chance? Our goals are to protect the children and make them as happy as we possibly can. I made it to the first child, slowly scooping him up into my arms. The little boy's lifeless eyes just looked into mine, blood dripping from his hair.
There was nothing I could do to help them. They were already gone. I felt something I could only equivalent with sorrow fill me. And then I saw them – feet belonging to an adult. I slowly raised my head, clutching the deceased child to my chest instinctively. I couldn't see the man's face as it was concealed in the darkness except his white glowing eyes. He was dressed in purple and smiled at me. Blood dripping from his right hand and the Golden Freddy head in his left. He dropped the head to the floor and started to walk towards me. I closed my eyes, clenching the tiny body in my hands. I felt his hand touch my head.
My eyes snapped open.
The charging was complete. My frame was somewhat shaking, unsure of what had just run through my head. I didn't know what had been playing through my mind.
That location and the bloody corpses…why was that stored inside me?
I unplugged myself and fixed my dress, before crawling out of my box. No music was playing meaning that it was not yet midnight. It was time to wander the restaurant, assuring the location of everyone. I noted that I was walking slower than I usually would, the footage in my head still finding its way to the surface. There had to be some mistake in what I had seen or the footage was tampered with before the main server hard drive was installed in me. I walked through the restaurant, looking down at Balloon Boy who was smiling as per usual.
"Hello."
I reached down and petted him on the head, causing him to look up at me. Balloon Boy was the only animatronic that had no desire to harm anyone, only to find annoying ways to get attention. He was difficult to find at times during the day but as long as he distributed balloons when needed, the staff never bothered to look for him.
"You did a good job as usual today."
Balloon Boy just smiled, letting out one of his laughs that most adults deemed 'creepy.' The ever familiar tune of the music box reached my ears, signaling my Master's arrival. My steps regained their normal speed as I left Balloon Boy for the office. I turned the corner and was met with the flashing of his light. I halted, my mask shielding my eyes. Upon recognition, the flashes stopped.
"Oh, Puppet. I'm sorry. I thought it might be someone else."
I just smiled and jumped up onto to his desk, landing to a crouching position. A shocked noise escaped his mouth, not expecting it. I crawled forward and took my place in his lap, continuing his shock. "Did you enjoy your day?" His face seemed to redden as he nodded, "Y-Yes, I did."
"What did you do?"
His attention turned to his device, flipping through cameras. Was he avoiding my question? "Shouldn't we move somewhere safe first?" The footage of the safe room flashed in my mind. That room existed here but it was also known as a private party room. "I know where…" getting to my feet. Master grabbed his handheld and followed me towards the hallway. As we walked through the main room, I kept my signals open to sense for other animatronics. I noted that Balloon Boy was keeping an eye on Master as we walked by. He didn't even utter a single "Hello." As we turned down a hallway, I noted his breathing get heavier. "Do not be worried. This room is inaccessible to every animatronic but me."
"Why is that?"
"It's a private party room that is rarely used so it's mainly a safe room. Very rarely accessed unless you are an employee. Usually it just houses storage items but it seems too large for a closet to me." I noted the lack of a camera by the door. This room was set to be untraceable and I couldn't help but make the connection with the footage I had replayed. The door handle had a thin layer of dust on it, showing that it had not been touched in a while. The last time I could recall being in there was a month or so prior, when they were renovating parts of the dining room. I was left out of sight, which meant I was out of mind as well. It had been four days before they had even looked for me.
The room housed a small table with three chairs, more broken ones in the corner. Various boxes lay scattered around the room, housing old merchandise or prizes. As soon as Master entered, I shut the door and closed the latch at the top as a precautionary measure.
"Nobody comes in here? I mean, at least it's one way in and out."
"No and it's one of the only rooms that locks. The children abused that quite a bit in the past, sneaking in here and locking themselves inside. So there is only a latch, but it works just the same."
"Why…why would Freddy Fazbear's have a locking party room?"
I thought about it, not too sure how to answer. All I knew of this room was when I was stored here. "This is my other home. I'm left here a lot." He gave me a look of confusion. "You're left here? Alone?" he asked, taking a seat at the table.
"People rarely use this room since it's so private. The staff will drag me from it with the box during the day."
His face faded back to concern. "They use the box on you for that? They couldn't just ask you? Or watch you?" I shook my head, taking the seat across from him. "The music box is easier. Why do you think I never show up on security footage? I'm not important enough to watch." I shuffled my feet under the table. He looked at his handheld, making the connection that he had never actually seen me on camera before I approached him. "Why…do you never show u-…oh. O-Oh." I noted his discomfort. "I mean, you're important to me."
I smiled at that statement. "I'm still not sure why." He shrugged, not seeming to have an answer himself. Time passed, sitting in silence. After some time, he stood and started to look through some of the storage boxes. "Oh, wow! This is ancient!" I stood, joining him as he placed a device on the counter and plugged it into the wall. It was a record player, according to my hard drive. He seemed a bit overjoyed as it powered up. The needle lowered onto the spinning disk, a new song filling my ears. "Moonlight Sonata is one of my favorite pieces." He smiled, as the vinyl continued to spin.
My head started to move to the music, the tune causing my feet to shuffle and sway. "It's so pretty…" I mutter, moving towards the more open part of the room. Master just smiled, observing my movements. "What is it…about the song?" I continued to smile, twirling in circles as the music continued to flow through me. "It makes me want to move." "And here I thought you only moved if the music stopped." He giggled a little, watching me dance. Skipping towards him, I entrapped his hands in my own. "Music just makes me want to move!"
His arms remained straight as I started to tug on them. "O-Oh, hey, um, I don't…I don't dance." His eyes shifted away from mine. Not the answer I was willing to accept. I used my strength to pull him to the center of the room. Placing his hand on my hip and holding the other softly, I looked up at him. "Everybody can dance." I started to take small steps from side to side until he began to mimic my actions. His eyes looked me up and down before quickly looking away. Regardless, his hips continued to move with the music. "Uh huh…sure they can." I smiled, petting his shoulder with the hand that rested there. "They can. You're doing it now." I let my hand release his, moving it to join the other on my hips. His fingers flexed a little bit, adjusting their placement.
"They taught you to dance, too?" he asked, trying hard to focus on not stumbling over his feet as we moved. "I taught myself." I brought my hands up to join behind his neck, continuing to lead. "It just comes natural. Like giving into an animalistic instinct. Your body just moves naturally." I took a step closer, to continue my assistance. He swallows a little, seeming intrigued by my wording. "I-Instinct, you say…" He leaned a bit closer to meet me. It made me smile as we started to sway in time with the music. "There you go! And you said you couldn't dance, Master!" He let out a nervous laugh, "I really can't…usually." He seemed to observe me more as I held on tighter. "You're…warm? How is it possible?" His forehead came to rest against mine, like a parent checking their child's temperature. "It's due to the movement just like a human. If I was always cold, it would be a poor representative of human life."
He nodded, seeming to understand. We continued to move as the music entranced us, the nightmares around us fading away. His body seemed to seize up a hair, forcing himself at time to relax as oxymoronic as it might seem. "Just, ah-ha, ha…this wasn't in the job description, you know? It's…nice…" He smiled down at me. "What is?" I ask, looking up as we continued to sway. "This…this is nice…you know, I'll…I'll need to wind it or else it…" He seemed to lose track of his words as he stared into my eyes.
In that moment, the haunted memories in my head started to fade and there seemed to be a program starting to run inside me. I wasn't sure what it was causing but all I knew it was new. I was enjoying this gaze. "You don't have to…I told you, I would never hurt you." "I trust you…" He leaned in and placed his head where my neck met my shoulder, hands moving to the back of my hips.
Was this closeness what it was like to be human?
Sorry for the slow updating. I promise I'll try to be better!
