IM ALIVVVEEEE!
I'm so so so sooo sorry for the inactiveness, it's just high school hit me hard and I had SO much homework! I hope updating a couple chapters will make you forgive me! It's winter break!
Oh I think my writing got better too!
The sad nod proved it, Juvia likes Gray. Natsu stared at the three best friends, Lucy frowning at him and Levy seeming awkward. The pinkette slouches and waves his hands in front of himself "Just now.. Hearing your conversation made me feel like that.."
Lucy's frown got deeper and Juvia nodded again "so regarding that.."
"You better not tell Gray. You absolutely can NOT tell him!" Lucy said taking a step towards him
"Wh-" Natsu looked around desperately and runs over to a bush, looks in it than back at Lucy and her friends "Why is everyone trying to prank me by saying this!?"
"Stop looking for a hidden camara, and Lu-chan?" Levy said looking at the said girl "isn't good he doesn't believe us?.. Okay, Juvia doesn't like Gray-kun..."
Natsu put his hands on both sides of his head than smiled "I would really believe it if Hitode-chan keeps on nodding!"
"Juvia.." Lucy said, anger rising. "Already did her best saying good luck to Gray-kun!"
They left a very dumbfounded, confused pinkette.
The smell of pork filled the air as the Karate club ate in a Korean barbecue, Natsu tried to focus but his head was filled with thoughts. Gray looked at him in confusion
"Your meat is burning," he said, making the boy jump in panic
"N-not good! Not good!" Natsu said flipping them over, and picking up a ready one with chopsticks. He chewed it slowly looking at his dark haired friend who was getting his own meat.
"What?" Gray said raising an eyebrow at Natsu
"Nothing..." The pink haired boy said shoving his mouth with meat.
"No... It can't be, such a cute girl having those feelings for Gray" he looks back at his friend "this Gray!? It's Gray! How can he be so popular?"
It started 9 years ago, when the 15 year olds were only 6. The sun beated down on Japan, and cicadas were screaming their lungs out. Natsu was crying his heart out as his Dad roughly threw him into the Dojo. "Don't come back until your a man!" He shouted driving away. The confused boy still cried sadly until a black haired boy went up to him.
"Why are you crying!?" Annoyance glimmered in his eye, this only made Natsu cry more. "So annoying, if you wanna cry, go to the corner and cry by yourself,"
The pink haired boy crawled to the corner, wiping away his tears and watching his new-er-acquaintance. He was punching the empty air with fierce eyes, and determination. Envy flooded young Natsu, and he stood up. Ran to him and punched the air, thinking he was good but it was really weak and contained no feeling.
"So disappointing!" Young Gray stated bluntly
Natsu chewed his food angrily as the past invaded his mind. Gray looked back at his best friend and sighed. "So what happened?"
"Nothing." He said rather upset
"I'm not like you, I don't have girls crawling at my feet. Speaking of which, why would Hitode-chan like Gray? What are his good points!?"
"Yo!" A voice said lightly slapping Natsu's back, the middle schooler turned around to see a smiling Gray.
"Gray!" He said happily returning the smile
"From today on we'll be at the same Middle School!" The said boy said setting his school bag on a random desk.
"Great! I'm not sure if I can get 100 friends... Let's go talk to some people!" Natsu said looking around than walking to a red head girl "Hi I'm Natsu and this is Gray, what school are you from?"
"... I'm Erza, I came from Heaven academy..." She said in a small voice "umm.. What club will you be joining?"
"Oh, we'll be in Karate club!" The pink haired boy said smiling brightly, he turned to his friend who was looking away awkwardly "Gray?.."
"Huh?" He said snapping out of his trance
"Why aren't you talking?"
"Yeah?" Grays said looking away again
"Wha-?" Natsu questions, Gray sits down and pays no attention to them
"You have a cool friend.." Erza said pulling a red lock behind her ear.
"Since it's all boys in our Karate club, I never noticed but Gray is really bad at talking to girls,"
Natsu grinded he's teeth together, and growled "Someone who can't talk to girls, there's no possible way Juvia could like him!"
The night ended and it was school the next morning. There was no glances at Juvia in the morning, in fact they didn't even pass by them. It was lunch before Natsu knew it, he stood up from his seat and went to Grays.
"So... Lunch at the rooftop?" He said rather nervously
"I'm not going." Gray said a little too quickly. He stood up and started walking to the courtyard, fed up with his friend Natsu ran up the staircase to the roof
"I'll go by myself!" The pinkette said rushing up, when he noticed his friend wasn't following but instead walking away he ran back down "wait for me Gray!"
They ate in their usual spot, after only a couple bites a familiar raven haired girl stood in front of them.
"May I sit here?" Ultear said, with no answer she took that as a yes and sat to the right of Gray.
"He didn't reject, why is there no reaction!?" He grinds his teeth together "this guy! Letting Juvia-chan like him and eating with another girl!"
"Do you genuinely like her?" Natsu remembered that, it was Gray at the Karate Tounament!
"Wait a minute! Does that mean Gray like Juvia! But she has a boyfriend! Hold on! THIS DOESNT ADD UP! She likes Gray but has a boyfriend!? How do I even know she has one?!" The memory of the summer festival popped into his mind, Juvia being pulled away by a black haired man. The back of that guys head clicked and quickly Natsu whipped around Gray and stared at the back of his head.
"What is it?" His friend said nervously, Natsu bit his lip as it all came clear.
"At that time.. The person she went with WAS YOU!?" Natsu screamed mentally as cold shivers ran down his spine, like a sudden rainstorm all of the memories showered down on him. His question during summer classes, Grays answer, Juvia's flusteredness.
"WHY ISNT THIS CONSIDERED DATING!?" Natsu paled in anger, his Brian felt dead. So much thinking was taking a toll on him. Gray stood up and looked at his deadbeat friend.
"Come on let's go run." He said and walked off.
Ultear bit her lip and glanced at Natsu. She sighed sadly and knowing it will break her heart more she asked the one question she dreaded "they'll date one day, right?"
"You knew?" Natsu said looking at her sympathetically, she responded with a weak laugh
"I should know who the person I like likes..." Her voice ached in sadness "although I wish I didn't know..."
"Then why don't you give up?" Ultear looks down and bunches her fist up as if to hold back tears "sorry that was a rude question-"
"Even if..." Ultear started looking up "he is interested in the child I... Even if it's just for a little bit, hope that he doesn't become taken."
"Ultear..." He looks down and puts on fake smile "it's okay! Those two don't have anything in common!?" Ultear turns to him and sighs
"What? Do you pity me? It doesn't matter anyways," she smiles "I want photos of Gray.."
"Yeah yeah I'll get some for you." Natsu said leaning back. A beautiful monarch butterfly flew by, Ultear scoffs
"Despite going the direction I loved, I still couldn't find happiness. The irony of it all..."
The bell rang and the two went their desperate ways, as Natsu walked back he ran into Gray. The pinkette smiles and pulls out his cell phone, he puts it on camera and takes a picture of Gray. The raven haired frowned
"What was that for?"
"Just taking pictures of the cool Gray," he said starting to send it to Ultear.
"I'm not even cool..." Gray muttered as he walked past Natsu
"Your completely cool!" He yells angrily, from every awesome win in karate to the rare smiles. Gray has always been cool.
"You're so much cooler.." Gray said glancing back at his friend
"Ha?" Natsu frowns.
"I always though you were cool."
"EH!? What part of me!?" Natsu said curiously
"You're not very cool when your annoying me though,"
"I want to know!"
"Hm, even though you suck at karate you keep on practicing."
"... Is this a compliment?" Gray laughed
"I'm not complimenting you, I'm just saying that if I were you I would have given up on Karate a long time ago." Natsu stormed in front of him, pouting
"I hate you." He said Gray smiles and laughed, Natsu smiled
"Gray, you must find happiness... Although I do feel sorry for Ultear."
As they kept on walking, the three girls; Lucy, Levy, and Juvia started walking towards them. Natsu watches as Gray and them walk right past each other. Yet, Juvia looked over at Gray the same time he happened to glance at her. The two looked away automatically, and continued walking. Natsu stopped and stood in the middle, observed as Juvia took one more look at the receding figure of Gray, he face blushing with conflicted feelings-loneliness and love. Natsu frowned and ran over to his raven haired friend to see a similar face. He was put in a stand still. "These two wear the same expression.."
"I'm sorry Ultear, but Gray must find happiness!"
