Chouchou Yosei

Yay! New chapter!

Previously: Getting caught up at school by Levy accidentally messing up a prop for the Cultural Festival, Juvia was late to meet with Gray. He managed to meet up with her, and as they walked home she asked to walk around the cultural festival together!

"Look around..." Grays vision went blurry "together?"

A small Juvia appeared in his mind, like an instant click. She ticked around like a clock, making him completely lose his focus. He felt like she's been doing this a lot, and Juvia was pretty great at so. Gray stared at her, and when he felt like he could think, he responded.

"Ye...s..."

"Look around... Together...?... Amazing."

Once Juvia went inside, Gray turned around and headed back to his house. After a shower and 30 minutes of homework, he settled on his bed. Gray stared at his rooms ceiling.

"Why do these... Great things keep happening? To think she likes haunted houses, Juvia-San also went to the fireworks show with me... As expected, I'm lucky. Rather than that, when she said look around together does she mean haunted house and... Caramel popcorn?" He flipped to his stomach "Am I wrong to think the haunted house? But at least, we should walk around the school together? Someone like Juvia-San..."

"Isn't she our schools Hitode-chan? And I'll be with her... Around the school. I made a promise."

Yosei Academy bustled with students and adults, their cultural festival has officially started. Students from other schools entered and hopeful middle schoolers too. It was a popular school and had quite a reputation,

"Gray! I want Currryyy~ Help me buy it!" Natsu said ghost like, he was clocked in a black coat and a white scream mask.

The two boys stood outside their classroom in the hallroom. They were currently getting customers, and Gray held the sign limply. He looked over at his spunky friend and rolled his eyes. Gray only wore a shirt saying the class name and a spirit headband.

"Natsu..." He said in a dark tone

"Aren't you switching after lunch?" He was probably smirking "do you have somewhere... Or someone you want to visit?"

"Ah, someone to visit?" Gray narrowed his eyes at Natsu "when it's your lunch, go and eat some Curry."

"I want to eat curry now. At lunch I want Yakisoba." He glances at his friend "ah Hitode-chan!"

Gray froze up and blushed slightly at the mention of her name. He felt suddenly nervous, he looked around trying to spot her.

"Just kidding!" Gray glared at Natsu and smacked him on the head "ow! That was rude!"

"Why did you have that kind of reaction? Did you two promise to look around together?"

"..."

"Ah! You aren't denying it..."

"..."

"Huh? Really? How'd you do it Gray?" Natsu grew bored of his make believe conversation "hellloooo!"

"Your noisy." Gray clicked his tongue

Suddenly there was a group of boys muttering together "who's that really pretty girl?"

All he needed to see was a flick of blue hair. Gray knew exactly what the girl they were talking about. Juvia looked pretty as always, she never did much to her looks but Gray became more attracted to her inner self. He knew how considerate she was, and honestly sweet Juvia is.

"That's Yosei's Hitode-chan!"

Gray was so focused on the girl that was walking towards him, he didn't even notice Natsu's line of sight. "Gray,"

"Huh?" A familiar, husky voice said. "If it isn't Gray."

The tall high school student wore another uniform, and his long, silky, black hair that reached his lower back was tied away. He was broad and tan, easy to find in a crowd. Along with that, he sported a bunch of piercings. Gray looked over to Natsu and his eyes grew wide.

"A punk?" Lucy muttered, throwing Levy and Juvia off guard

"Where's the punk?" The short bluenette questioned

"He's talking to Gray-kun right now..." She nodded her head towards him.

"It's Gaji-San!" Natsu said moving his black cloth hands. The said man looked over at him and frowned

"Who's that?"

"Natsu... It's NATSU!"

"Ah," he grins shoving his face in a playful manner "it's Natsu, what's up?"

"How mean," Gajeel shrugged the pink haired boy off and pointed at Gray.

"Hey... Ah, Say... Were you?" He didn't know how to state it

"Gajeel, look." One of his friends said with shoulder bump, he took some steps back and saw the blue haired girl from before. "It's the infamous Hitode,"

"Huh?" He said loudly, catching people's attention. Gajeel pointed at Juvia with a grin "You walked home with this chick, right? Hey, hey are you two dating?"

The black haired boy said it to loudly and boys suddenly erupted. Juvia looked a little panicky, she settled her eyes on Gray who looked just as nervous as her. Gajeel was staring at him, drilling for an answer.

"We aren't going out!" Grays voice was loud and he answered it quickly. He was blushing but everything was settled with his voice.

"No, no. Gaji-San. You probably mistook them from the angle." Natsu laughs from inside his mask "you still don't know how to look at your surroundings..."

"Is that so," Gajeel whacks Natsu "I guess your right for once, Gray couldn't possibly walk home with a girl.

"That's a relief," him and his friends started to walk towards Juvia's direction "wait, you aren't coming in?"

"Maybe later." Gajeel gets to the famous bluenette and smirks "how cute..."

The storm passed, Gajeel and his friends left. Juvia was the most hurt by everything, she knew he wasn't lying about the dating part. It was the way he said it, so forceful and loud. Like there was no chance of them, but Juvia knew she had to stay strong. Gray was still blushing, and when looked over at the blue haired beauty. He could tell she was hurt.

"Let's get some caramel popcorn." Levy told Lucy, and than left the two alone with Natsu.

"Is she... Just visiting with me? Just us two?"

"Bo..." She couldn't move her eyes from the floor and Juvia's voice shook, and it was so small. "Bowling... Wanna go?"

Gray was in the same situation, blushing and embarrassed. It wasn't until Natsu leaned towards Gray and whispered "don't you need to work hard?"

"I need to work hard." Gray regained his courage and took a couple steps forward, with Juvia just behind him "or else... How could I walk next to her?"

Gray walked over to the entrance of the haunted house, and slipped off his spirit headband. He pushed open the black curtain and glanced at her "let's go in..." Juvia stared at him "together."

She felt the heat rush to her face and entered timidly. Juvia was just a step or two behind him, and he couldn't settle down in his mind. It was pounding with question of if she really liked this, and didn't she say she wanted to go through it. One of the actors stumbled out of the bush with black hair covering their face.

"I'm so jealous."

Juvia darted away and shook silently, Gray looked back at her and stared at the girl, unsure of what to do. When she caught up with him he took a deep breath.

"Are you not good with this?" She responded with a nod. Gray bit his lip and without fully thinking, grabbed her wrist. He didn't want to lose her, she did mean something to him and he couldn't figure out why. Juvia was pulled lightly ahead and she could barely process what was going on.

They reached the end after a multitude of scares. Gray never let go until the stood at the front of the entrance. He lightly started to pull his hand away, and Juvia pulled a piece of hair behind her ear.

"During... The fireworks..." She gulped nervously "you weren't holding my wrist."

"Ah..." Gray thought about it and felt a sudden rush of nostalgia "I don't even understand, what happened at the Fireworks festival."

Juvia took the chance and reached for his hand, she slipped her fingers through his and than lost confidence. She started to retreat but suddenly Gray caught her hand. He held it tightly, tighter than her. He wasn't sure what his train of thought was, but he knew he shouldn't let go.

He pulled the black curtain back and felt the light seeping into the Haunted room.
