Previously: After Juvia asked about their dating situation, Gray responded by saying he wasn't sure how dating worked. Juvia realized she didn't either. The next day her Dad has returned from a business trip and when asking her questions, she told her parents she likes a boy. Becoming curious the two watch them from outside their house, and much to Juvia's disapproval, asked for Gray to enter.

Juvia trembled in anger, and utter embarrassment. She couldn't believe her parents greeted a boy she wasn't even dating, plus asking him to come in. Granted she did want him to, but not to her parents accord! Juvia bit her lip, she was tolerant, but this was a line she didn't want crossed. Her mom and dad stared at her, feeling the anger seeping out.

"Ju-Juvia?" Her mom asked nervously, this was a side neither have seen before. It's a side Juvia hasn't seen of herself.

"Umm..." Gray shuffled nervously

"Are you mad?" Dads voice made her huff.

"Don't be so mad!" Her voice ringing happily

"We're sorry! We just had to meet him! No matter what!" He tried to reason with her.

"See Papa?" Mom said, "it's too much to suddenly invite him in!"

"You're right... But we've already made dinner." This made Gray sweat.

"We... We were just curious what kind of boy is walking our beloved daughter home." Now Mom's voice was laced with sadness, it made Juvia turn to look at her.

"Then..." Gray took a step toward the three Lockser's "nice to meet you, My name is Gray Fullbuster."

"Oh... Um..." The two parents bowed back, a little thrown off by the boy's politeness.

"Wanna come in?" Her dad asked one more time. To this Juvia shook her head violently, and the dark haired boy glanced at her.

"... It seems, Juvia-san doesn't want me too..." He said pulling at his bag.

To this, her parents sighed, obviously disappointed. The young girl watched them, guilt tugging at her heart. She looked down, blushing, and decided to add her opinion.

"I... Don't want Gray to have any bad memories... Of me.." Juvia looked up her mutual like, a little nervous. But he smiled ever so slightly.

"I'm fine though," he said.

Her parents were smiling, ecstatic that she was talking to a boy. Her introverted personality wasn't only at school but at home, they were both becoming worried. Yet there she was talking to the boy she likes.

"Juvia sure has grown up," her dad said as he rubbed a tear away.

"Yeah..." She sighed "it's enough for us to see this. See you Gray-kun,"

They began to walk back into their house, but the high school boy stopped them. "If you guys don't mind..." He nodded "I'll take you up on your offer."

The four sat at the dining table with little to talk about. Juvia sat next to Gray and her parents across from them, it was quiet until the mom set down the plates of ratatouille.

"Mamas ratatouille is really good!" Papa said, smiling happily as he took a bite. "Does it suit your taste?"

"It's delicious." Gray said.

Than the silence, it dawned on the two adults that both weren't much of talkers. They sat in silence, both eating their dinner, not even looking at each other. It was up to the parents to start a conversation. She smiled, mama thought they looked cute together.

"Thank you for the food." Gray finished already, that meant he would have to go home. They haven't gotten anything out of him!

"Um! Gray, since Yosei High School is an elevator school, have you been there since elementary?" Her dad asked

"Yeah, though I started in 3rd grade." Gray responded.

"Are you in any clubs?"

"Karate,"

"Wah! That's amazing!" Mama said happily.

Another period of silence, this one didn't last long because Papa noticed Gray staring at a small frame. Juvia's baby picture, she was snuggled up against a teru teru bozu. Even as a baby she had long and thick lashes, bright eyes and soft baby skin. Granted she was a baby and most are like that, but she was too cute for her own good.

"When we first saw Juvia in the newborn baby room, she was the only one brimming with light," a nostalgic smile creeped up on his face.

"Well every parent would think that about their own child," Mama said, laughing lightly.

"Yeah... But as she grew older, we got more and more trouble. We caused Lucy a lot of problems, humans... Are shallow people." His voice grew melancholy. Her mom picked up the dinner dishes, and left to the kitchen. "But not only Lucy, I caused stress with Mama. I couldn't be there to help her with the school situation, I don't like taking business trips."

Gray listened closely, and when he looked over at Juvia, a trace of guilt could be on her face. It was than he realized, being overly pretty wasn't a good thing. Papa than went on a little bit about the stalkers, and to Gray's surprise, a near rape. When she was 13, an older man pulled her into an alley and only managed to pull her skirt down and grope her. He was soon arrested, but it was the main trigger for Juvia's hatred for men. It all became so clear to Gray, the true reason why she acted that way towards the guys, it started so young. Not a single good thing was from her childhood except Lucy, what was so different about him?

"Gray," the said boy looked up at the adult. "That's why, I would like to ask you as a Dad. Do you seriously like Juvia? Not for her looks, but for her personality."

"Yes." It was without hesitation, a clear answer. He decided he wanted to protect her, not out of guilt, but because without a doubt. He seriously liked her.

Than it got awkward, everyone was so flustered by the atmosphere and Gray's straight forward answer. Papa could feel his heartbeat in his ears, and than he started up again.

"Than do you want to date her? Because..." He leaned back in his chair, "you have my blessing."

"Ah..." Gray shuffled uncomfortably in his seat. "I don't really... Understand what dating is..."

"Psh!" Mama giggled as she at back down.

"Mama!" The dad said with a serious look.

"I'm sorry, but isn't he really cute?"

For the next fifteen minutes, the three had small talk. Papa asking for Gray's cell phone number only to get rejected, the high schooler didn't have a cell phone. Juvia remained out of the conversation, and didn't say anything through out dinner. When it was 8:30, they decided it was time for him to leave. The three Lockser's walked him out of their house and stood by the gate saying their goodbyes. He bowed politely and began walking away, the two adults smiled.

"It's good he's not flashy," Mama said, than their daughter began running after him. "Ah! Juvia!"

Gray heard the steps behind him and turned around, surprised to see the blue haired girl right behind him. He looked past to see her parents inside, leaving them alone on the street. Juvia bowed politely as an apology, and he shook his head.

"I'm sorry," he sighed "even today... I couldn't give you an answer. Even if you asked me... I don't have a clue about dating."

Juvia nodded, she understood his position. She shivered slightly, it was a colder night. It was creeping closer to winter too, she watched Gray look down.

"I'm so lame..." He muttered under his breath. Juvia shook her head, upset he was talking down on himself.

"... You are very cool," she said, baffled at her own proclamation.

"I have thought about dating you," Gray whispered, only for her to hear. Like a secret. She was happy, but still an inkling of disappointment.

"That... To make us boyfriend and girlfriend..." Her eyes went downcast. "Still isn't enough."

Than she looked up and smiled brightly at Gray, the blush adding color to her pale complexion. He turned to the side, still looking at her.

"But that's Gray, awkward and a little clumsy. I still like him!"

"Then... See you on Wednesday," He said before he left.
