CQB Simulator – Unauthorized Event

Jane brought her Glock 37 up slightly as they stepped lightly down the hallway. As point man she was scanning the opening at the end for targets with her partner covering her from the right. Kate eased behind her and Jane shifted to accommodate her, they crouched low as they crept upon the doorway that led to the warehouse. A large sea container obstructed the view of the right side but that didn't bother Jane. She was ready, as was her team.

She took up a stationary position behind a wooden crate and covered Kate while she hung up her pistol and unslung her rifle. She positioned it and flipped open the lens caps. Although she couldn't actually play with the rifle that still belonged in evidence, she had asked Colin to arrange for her to borrow a similar weapon and he came back with virtually the same rifle minus the camouflage paint and a much less powerful scope. It was enough for her as she geared up for this run.

She felt a presence behind her and found Olivia taking up a defensive position behind her while Frankie covered Jane. Quiet as mice they waited as Kate made sure what they could see was clear.

Seeing the area was clear Kate recapped the lens and looked to Jane, No contact.

Jane sent an acknowledgement and looked back on Liv who nodded as she indicated Jane to take the stairs to the right. Jane quietly stepped towards them when Frankie jerked his M-4 up to the ceiling catwalk. They all turned then and saw Colin standing there watching. He smiled at them and leaned against the rail. Jane was tempted to pop one off at him but refrained, there was no reason to give away their position. She continued her creep along the wall with the rest of the team providing cover. They found a small crow's nest of boxes and again Kate settled in and scanned what she could see. A slight reflective glint caught her attention and she zeroed in on it.

There was a drone crouched next to a small truck, waiting. Kate patted Liv and leaned away from the rifle long enough for Liv to look through the scope. She nodded and glanced around their makeshift cover. They could make one hell of a stand here. She pointed Frankie to the left and took right. She pointed Jane towards the overhead catwalk and pointed two fingers at her eyes.

Knowing that Liv wanted her to cover the overhead, Jane nodded. Liv then patted Kate on the shoulder, nodded, and took position directly to Kate's right. Kate sighted the drone and snapped the safety off. She let go of her breath and gently squeezed the trigger, careful not to pull.

The rifle barked and through the scope she could see the paint splatter across the drone's faceplate. And then the firefight started as drones rose up from every kind of cover in the massive room, including the stack of boxes they were hiding behind. Jane pulled her nine and started double firing all around them. Within seconds four drones were collapsing back into the boxes and the rest of her team was dropping them all over the room.

It was all simulated carnage as drone after drone went down. Rollers came in from three different sides and soon it was a swarm of the mechanical machines firing on their position. Paint splattered everywhere as they fought from a concealed position against the onslaught. The stack of boxes was covered completely in red to the point that it was dripping on the floor. Kate kept one eye in the scope and one eye open to gage sighting.

The rifle coughed in her hands as she dropped another one, and another, and another. Her heart beat a steady rhythm as her weapon dispensed simulated death to the machines. Her mind was calm as she repeated the cycle in her head. Locate, target, shoot. Locate, target, shoot. Her mind settled into the rhythm and she felt almost like a machine herself. The weapon in her hand was just an extension of her will and her will was to protect her friends.

Jane counted the rounds Kate was firing and shuttered, her friend was getting faster. What had initially taken a couple of seconds to do now Kate was almost down to one per second. With her careful eyes she could see her partner's pulls pounding but her breathing was even and she was in total control. Liv stood beside Kate, firing over her head but ready to take a hit for Kate if needed.

Frankie was so focused on what he was doing keeping their flank clear that he hadn't seen the drone sneaking around on the second level. Jane swung her pistols up and leaned almost outside of their cover as she double tapped the drone. Her threat detection twitched and she spun around to find a drone in the shelter, damn near on top of her. Jane didn't even flinch as she ran a shoulder into the gun arm and blasted the butt of her 45 right into its face. Its eyes flashed red and it folded into itself.

Stepping past the drone, Jane put her last magazine into her pistol and started picking off drones that were rolling her way. When the last round was spent she hung it up and moved her Glock 19 to her shooting hand. She kept up the fire until it too ran out of ammo. With only three drones trying to press through she shouted, "The things I do for family!"

Jane leapt over the collapsed drones and ran straight into the four rollers. She jerked her empty pistols out and started swinging.

"Jesus!" Frankie shouted as Jane knocked them out.

Jane did a combat roll over red paint and landed right back inside the boxes.

Liv fired twice more before her weapon went silent, and then the only sound that could be heard was Kate's rifle. Bang, pause, bang, pause, bang, until she too fell silent.

They looked around at the massive amount of drones that all stood in a crouched over position. Jane listened but the telltale buzzer hadn't sounded.

"Spread what's left of the ammo." Liv barked.

"I'm out," Jane said.

"Four rounds left," Frankie reported.

"Full load of nine mils." Liv said as she pulled four magazines out of her vest and passed two to Jane and two to Frankie.

Jane groaned as she went to hang up her 45 but instantly two magazines were held up in front of her, they were full of 45 GAP Paint rounds.

"Who loves you?" Kate said with a smile.

"My siblings do." Jane said with an appreciative grin and slid one into her gun and kept the other one palmed.

Liv replaced her M-4 mag with a fresh one and racked it. "Kate, how are you on ammo?"

"Four down one left." She said. "Plus my Glock doesn't even need cleaning yet."

Liv glanced around and nodded, "Jane, on point to the left. Kate, draw your Glock and cover her. Frankie, on me and cover our rear. I got Kate and Frankie."

"Leaving me on my own?" Jane grinned sarcastically, "Thanks, LT."

Liv rolled her eyes as she signaled them to move out. They swept across the room with no incident and ended up staring at each other.

"Okay, so where did we go wrong?" Kate asked as she looked around nervously.

"All the drones are down so what are we missing?" Liv added.

Jane shook her head and was about to comment when she caught sight of a small red dot on Kate's vest. Jane launched herself at her partner, sending them both tumbling to the floor. But Jane felt the splatter of paint on the back of her vest. She'd been hit.

"Officer down." She called and stayed in place as Kate struggled to get out from under her. Liv and Frankie started popping rounds off at the direction of the fire but came up empty.

"Sniper!" Kate growled sharply. Her fears threatened to overwhelm her but as soon as her hand gripped the rifle, the fears faded. She wasn't defenseless anymore. She remembered her training on the rifle in her room and how it was all math and physics.

She slid out from under Jane and grabbed her partner's vest, dragging her to some form of cover while Liv and Frankie covered them.

"Kate!" Liv shouted, "We're open!"

Kate glanced around and saw the sea container, "Liv, get to Bruno!"

Dragging a bitching Jane, Liv and Frankie drug her to the sea container as another shot rang out from the side. It barely missed, only because Frankie tripped over Jane's arm.

Liv jerked the lock bars open and opened the massive door. The drone nicknamed "Bruno" was freestanding to the right partly attached to the inside of the container. Just to be sure, she shot him in the face as they dragged Jane inside.

"Son of a bitch." Jane grumbled, "I've been shot in the back."

As Kate slipped in she glares at her partner, "Nice to know you'd take a bullet for me but dead people don't bitch so much."

Jane grinned, "I'm haunting you from the grave."

Liv chuckled as Kate snapped out one of the legs on the bipod. She stood directly behind Bruno and hooked the leg into his shoulder plate. From some serious cover she looked to Liv. "Need you to make a show of trying to find a way out of here."

Liv nodded and pulled out a compact. She flipped it open and eased her arm around the door as she scanned the area. She knew that the ceiling lights were reflecting off the mirror and that was the point as she looked around for some more cover.

Frankie unhooked the second door and cracked it open. Crouching low, Liv waited as Kate centered the rifle on the catwalk.

"Now what?" Frankie griped. "Whoever it is can wait us out; they're machines."

"No." Liv said sharply, "Colin set this up and since it's not a real CQB scenario he can do what he wants with no rules."

"Including putting a real sniper out there." Jane said and Kate caught the look. "It's Booth."

Kate nodded remembering the time they tricked Griggs into sending his drones after them, "Start arguing. Loudly." She pulled a pair of ear plugs out of her pocket and stuck them in place.

She could barely make out the fight but soon the noise was almost deafening as they fought over whose idea it was to get locked in the sea container. Jane took Kate's place in the fight. About ten minutes later she caught sight of movement in the scope. Booth had fallen for the cat fight amplified by the metal box and was a lot closer than she had thought but it didn't matter. She was ready, and waiting. As he quietly rushed from one box to the other he watched carefully for a sign of a trick. He realized his mistake a split second before Kate fired.

She caught him in the heart, while he was rushing from one box to the next. The bright red smack stopped him in his tracks. He was dead and he knew it.

Colin sounded the buzzer and climbed down the catwalk ladder. "Boyo, I can't believe you fell for that."

Booth set his weapon down on the crate, "They were all screaming at each other. I figured they were distracted."

Kate just smiled as she carried the rifle, stock to her hip. "How many have fallen for the old catfight over the years?"

"Bout six that I remember." Colin said with a chuckle, "It seems like you get one a year."

Liv smiled, "Don't feel bad Booth." She said, "I fell for it a couple of years ago."

"And got tazed in the ass as I remember." Jane said smartly.

Liv pulled a stun gun out of her vest, "Yeah, about that."

She aimed it at Jane's vest and pulled the trigger. The prongs shot out of the gun and sailed towards Jane, who had twisted at the sight of the gun. The barbs passed right by her and embedded themselves in the unprotected side of Frankie's vest.

Liv pulled the trigger and Frankie jerked at the low power charge that zapped the hell out of his ribs.

He partly collapsed to the floor but caught the side of a box with a hand. He started twitching from the electricity that bounced around his body.

Jane snickered, "Nice shot, Babe."

"Not as good as this one," Booth said and pulled the trigger on his own. Jane felt a jolt in the center of her back and a deafening buzz in her ears as she dropped to one knee.

Kate pulled her own and aimed it at Booth but got a jolt from Colin before she could even blink.

Liv spun around on them with her pistol but got a shock from Frankie who had recovered enough to return her taser fire.

He rose unsteadily to his feet as Colin dropped a bandolier full of paint rounds and taser clips on Liv. "Round two." He said with a grin, "Boys against girls."

The lights went out and the men rushed away.

New York City

Alexis picked up the picture of her, Jane, Kate and Maura at Yankee's Stadium. Smiling warmly at the image she wrapped it in bubble paper before stacking it in the box along with the others. The last picture was one that made her blush. Her Aunt Jane was cupping Maura's face in her palms, their lips pressed together and even though the picture, Alexis could see how much her aunt loved the beautiful doctor and how much Maura loved her gorgeous detective.

She touched their faces gently and sighed, hoping that one day she could have what they did, hard fought though it was.

She felt a gentle hand on her shoulder and looked up to see the doctor smiling down at her and the picture.

Alexis smiled back, showing her dimples as she leaned her head into the hand and wrapped the picture gently.

"She loves you too, you know." Maura ran a light hand through Alexis's curls.

Alexis set the picture in the box and nodded, "She never let me feel otherwise, even when I didn't want her to."

Maura let her go and knelt beside her as she reached for one of Jane's many award certificates. "She said that you want to come to Boston with us."

Alexis nodded as she handed over a sheet of wrap. "I do." She hesitated, "But I don't want to get in the way."

Maura placed an arm around the young girl and pulled her in close. Lexie slipped an arm around her and returned the embrace. "You're never in the way, Alexis. I love you and so does Jane. Please don't tell her that I told you this but she has told me that she misses being there to tuck you in at night."

Smiling at the words, Alexis giggled, "Her phone calls just aren't the same."

Expecting to see Maura's amusement, she found kind and understanding eyes of hazel. "Jane tucks our blankets around us every night. It wasn't until she and Kate had to go to Philadelphia that I realized how I take advantage of so many things she does. All this week I've missed not only her but the little things she does."

"Like leave her socks on the floor?" She joked.

Maura pinched her face at the girl as she tried to remember the last time Jane had done that. She remembered a hundred times that she had come over to Jane's apartment or Jane had come to her house and she'd had to pick the detectives clothes up off the floor but as she searched, she couldn't find one time where Jane's socks or any other piece of clothing had been out of its place since she'd come to New York.

She looked down at Alexis, "Actually, since Jane came out, I can't remember a time she has done that."

Chuckling, Alexis pinched and lifted her eyebrows, "She used to get so mad when I did it. She used to say," In her best imitation-of-Jane voice. "Damn it, Alexis, I just cleaned this room! Can't you at least give it an hour before you start dropping things on the floor?"

Maura laughed and pulled her close again. "I can assure you that your Aunt Jane is not the same Jane I knew a few years ago."

Alexis bobbed her head happily, her bright red curls bouncing with the motion, "Nope, she's even better now."

"She is at that." Maura sighed in contentment, "I couldn't imagine my life without her in it when we were just friends, hiding our attraction from everyone, even ourselves and each other."

In awe of the reverence in Maura's words she looked at her, "And now?"

"Now when I think about her not being in my life, I can't breathe." She said distantly and then refocused on the girl, "I'm beyond the point of being able to live without her. She's in my thoughts and in my heart in a way that no one could ever be. As scientifically impossible as it may seem, should something ever happen to her, I don't believe I would survive it."

"It must suck when she's out of town like this."

Maura smiled at her, "I sleep much better at night knowing your Ma is with her."

Alexis looked at her, "Why is that?"

"Because she is just like Jane in so many ways and when they are together, the statistical probability of one of them falling is significantly reduced. Jane is as protective of her as she is of me and I know that Kate feels the same way. It's part what makes us a family and I know that she'd do anything for family. The kind of love that we all have for each other is very rare, especially considering that we're all coming together from very different lives. Jane has been and always will be a blue collar Italian girl, she's the daughter of a plumber and a homemaker. I am the daughter of an organized crime boss and a doctor, but I grew up wealthy and privileged as the daughter of a professor and an artist. Kate is the daughter of two lawyers, one who gave her time freely to those in need and was murdered for it. And then you grew up similarly to the way I did but your father devoted every spare minute to raising you instead of the way he grew up with nannies while your Gran tried to work. Our love is what makes us family."

Alexis nodded, "Like Nonna says, there are three kinds of family, the kind we're born into, the kind who are born to us, and the kind we let into our hearts."

"That's very true." She said, "I'm not certain where she read that but since I was an adopted Rizzoli, I am grateful she believes it."

"Says the only adopted daughter who will actually have the name Rizzoli." Alexis said and there was a hint of envy in her voice.

"That's only because I'm marrying Jane." She chided. "So unless you plan on pursuing Frankie…"

"Uncle Frankie!" Alexis cried out, "I mean he's good looking but he's family, ewww."

"Then you should be happy having the nickname." She said affectionately, "Like your Ma and Jordan."

"What about Aunt Liv?" Alexis asked. "She's family too. Why does she always look like she doesn't have a friend in the world when she has us?"

"Because Olivia is a strong independent woman who's never had the kind of family that we have." She said, "You know that she has a half-brother, but she doesn't get to see him often because she really doesn't know how to accept him as family. It takes time Alexis but she'll see it eventually."

Nodding, Alexis changed the subject. "So have you and Aunt Jane talked about getting married?"

Maura smiled, "Of course, mostly we talk about it while we're in bed before we go to sleep."

"Not before sex?" Alexis giggled.

"No." Maura said honestly, "That would be counterproductive. Our discussions prior to coupling are short lived."

Alexis laughed, hard.

"What?" Maura asked not understanding why she was amused.

"Nothing," she chuckled. "I can just see Aunt Jane cringing when you talk about your sex life."

Maura huffed and let the girl go, "I know it embarrasses her but she did tell me about your dilemma so if I have any knowledge I can pass along I feel like I should."

Alexis stopped laughing and her cheeks flushed pink. "She told you?"

"Of course she did." Maura said as if it wasn't embarrassing. "Questioning your sexual orientation is nothing to be ashamed of."

Alexis's head fell into her hands. "Okay, now I know why Aunt Jane hates it when I tease her about sex."

Maura took the girl's hands into hers and looked straight into those ocean blue eyes. "There's nothing to be embarrassed over. In addition to being bisexual, I'm also a doctor so I understand it from a clinical point of view. You can talk to me Alexis, I won't judge you and if you'd like me to keep your confidence I will. All I will tell Jane is that we talked, nothing more."

Alexis sighed and turned away, "I never thought about girls before I met Aunt Jane."

Maura nodded and started picking up the mess they had made while packing for the move to Boston. Like Jane, she let Alexis come out on her own.

It didn't take long, "Maur?" She looked over at the young girl who refused to meet her gaze, "I'm a virgin."

"That is not a bad thing, Alexis." Maura said calmly as she continued to pack. "It's certainly nothing to be embarrassed about."

She continued to move the boxes towards the door and eventually, Alexis continued.

"I thought I liked boys before Aunt Jane came to live with us. When she finally told me that she was a lesbian, I didn't know what to think. I mean I have two very important role models in my life who are the same but different. Ma likes guys and Aunt Jane likes girls. All of my life my dad has had nothing but girlfriends so I didn't even think about the possibility of being gay. And now I'm confused because after Aunt Jane talked about how much she loves you, I started to look for that in my life."

Maura smiled slightly and nodded, "Are you attracted to men?"

"Kinda." She said sheepishly, "I've had boyfriends and I've liked making out with them but whenever they touched me I felt like I shouldn't. Not like I didn't want to or like I didn't want them to; just that I shouldn't."

"I understand." Maura said reassuringly, garnishing a light smile from the girl. "They weren't the right person for you. You should trust your intestines."

Alexis looked up at her then and bit her lower lip near the corner of her mouth. She wanted to ask the question that had been on her mind for some time now but was hesitant because of how embarrassing it was. But Maura's warm smile melted her defenses and she braced herself.

"Maura?"

"Yes, dear?" The older woman said as she placed the last box along the wall.

"What's it like?"

It was the tone that caught her attention and she looked back at Alexis again. The girl was pale with nervousness.

"What is what like?"

Alexis looked down again, "Being with a girl."

Maura opened her mouth to answer when she was cut off by her phone, "Just a moment, honey."

She went to the kitchen and answered her cell phone. "Hello?"

"Maura Dorothea Rizzoli!" came the sharp tongue of Angela Rizzoli, "I just got off of a half hour conversation with Constance on the phone about you and Jane. She said that you're planning to have a wedding in June. When exactly where you going to call me about this!?"

She cringed because Jane had wanted to keep her mother out of the planning for as long as possible so it didn't become this massively huge My Big Fat Italian Wedding event. Since she too was perfectly happy with a smaller ceremony so as not to be embarrassed by the lack of people on her side of the wedding party, she had agreed. Keeping Angela out until the wedding plans had gone too far to change was their highest priority. She couldn't believe that her mother would have called Angela. How she even had the Rizzoli matriarch's phone number was another question.

"When we moved back to Boston." She replied, "We haven't worked out the details of what we want yet."

"As the mother of one of the brides, don't you think I should be involved with the planning of the wedding?"

Maura stood her ground though the last thing she wanted to do was hurt Angela, "Of course, we both do. However Jane and I were concerned that you would want our wedding to be a large affair. We planned on a private ceremony with less than fifty people."

"Per side I hope." Angela sneered.

"Total." Maura said firmly. "I don't have very many people to come to the wedding anyway, in fact I'll be lucky to fill up a decent bridesmaid line up."

"Don't be ridiculous. Jordan and the crime lab will be fighting for positions to be on your side." She sighed heavily, "When Janie comes back from Illinois were going to talk about this together young lady."

"Ma-" She tried.

"Don't you 'Ma' me." Angela barked, "Where are you going to have this private ceremony? In New York?"

Maura blew out a sigh, "No. It's not legal for us to get married in New York. We're taking our vows in Boston."

"Do you know where?" Came the next question.

Seeing Maura's distress, Alexis put a hand on her shoulder and whispered in her ear, "Talk about the baby. It'll distract her."

"Not exactly," she hedged and took Alexis's advice, "But we have decided on the fertility clinic we plan on using to get pregnant."

Angela's reaction was immediate and Maura thanked Alexis with her eyes. "Really, which one?"

"Brand New Day on Boylston." The blonde answered, "They have a very high success rate and it has an excellent reputation for sperm donor availability. There are several donors that have extremely high achievements."

"Like BCU graduates?" Angela asked hopefully.

Maura nodded, "Yes, and many donors from MIT, Caltech, and Harvard just to name a few."

"Oh that's wonderful." She squealed, "I can't wait for you to have a child. Does Janie plan on being the pregnant one anytime soon?"

Maura rolled her eyes, "We haven't talked about it beyond deciding that I'm going to carry our first."

"Well as long as she's a part of both of you, I don't care who carries." She said dreamily. "I hope it's a girl."

"I hope so too." Maura said, "With two mothers I'm not sure how we could raise a boy without a male role model for him to idolize."

"Again, that's nonsense; Rick would be more than happy to be the child's father figure. So would Frankie and Woody, even Tommy."

Glancing at Alexis, she saw the girl roll her eyes.

"I'm certain that they would though we are not pregnant yet." Maura said softly.

"Has Janie called you from the thing she does every year?"

"Yes, Ma." She said happily, "She has called me three times already today and I am expecting her call before bed."

"Huh." Angela grumbled, "She calls you four times a day and I can't get her to answer the phone once a week. I mean, I only carried her for nine months, gave birth to her, and raised her up to be the woman she is, you think that I could at least get a phone call once a week."

Again, Maura saw Alexis roll her eyes. If she rolled them back any further she'd go blind from it.

"I understand Ma." She consoled, "But I do call you often because I know how busy my Jane can get."

"It's so wonderful to hear you say that." Angela said softly.

"Say what?"

"You said my Jane." She could practically hear Angela's smile. "I'm so glad that you have each other Maura and I can't wait till I can tell everyone that my daughter in law is a doctor."

Maura smiled, "I'm sure Carla Talucci will be very envious."

"I haven't spoken to her in a few years." She got a sound in her voice. "Maybe I should call her."

A light chuckle erupted from the phone. Angela would love nothing better than to share her daughter's good fortune with the gossip. Even though Jane was gay, she was still marrying a doctor, and a successful one at that.

"So when is Janie coming back?"

"They're leaving tomorrow." Maura's heart fluttered at the thought of holding her love in her arms again. The last two weeks had been very lonely, even with Rick coming by and Alexis staying with her. "I expect to see them Sunday afternoon."

"Good, then I won't call you on Sunday." She said, "I know you two rabbits will be occupied."

Heat flushed her cheeks at Angela's words. Though she herself wasn't embarrassed about sex, she knew Jane was and the thought of her hearing her mother's words did bring out her embarrassment for Jane. "Thank you, I'd appreciate it."

"Okay, good night Maura."

"Good night, Angela. Would you like to talk to Alexis?"

She passed the phone to the redhead who squealed slightly and put the phone to her ear. "Hi Nonna."

Ft. Justice, Illinois

Jane finished strapping her equipment to the back of her bike and looked back at her sister as tears threatened to spill out on her cheeks. She hated being emotional but her sister was finally healing and she didn't want to leave her.

"C'mon, Babe." She said, her voice cracking slightly, "You don't have to do this alone."

Her partner came up beside her and frowned, "If you don't want to go home, you know you can stay with either one of us. In fact, we want you to."

Wiping an errant tear from beneath her eye, Liv smiled. It was a good smile that meant that she understood. "I know girls, but I've lost myself and I need to find myself again before I can do anything. It's quiet here and you know that Colin will never leave me alone anyway."

"Liv." Jane said, "You can't expect us to just ride away and leave you here in the damn woods all by yourself. What kind of sisters would we be?"

Liv walked between the two bikes and held her arms out. Both women stepped into them and wrapped their arms around their big sister. "Good sisters who respect their oldest sibling's wishes." She pulled them both tightly to her. "We're family and I'll be back as soon as I know who I am and who I want to be again."

"We just got you, Liv." Jane said sadly. "You can't expect us to just let you go."

"I don't want you to." She repeated, "But I do need some time."

"You can come stay in Boston with us," Kate said, "I'd love to have you stay with Rick and I."

"I just might do that one day." She said before kissing Kate's forehead. "This isn't goodbye, it's just see you later."

"Then why does it feel like goodbye?" Jane whispered.

"Because, you want to help me and you don't realize that you already have." She kissed Jane's head. "You have helped me to wash away the past and now I need to figure out my future on my own. But you're both my sisters and I love you and I promise that I won't stay away for long."

Jane nodded in Liv's embrace. "I love you, Liv."

"I love you too, Liv." Kate echoed.

"I love you both so much." She squeezed them a little tighter. "And I owe you both everything for giving me back my life. Now both of you have fiancé's who miss you, and you shouldn't keep them waiting any longer than they have to."

Jane nodded again and let go. Liv brushed the moisture away from Jane's cheeks before doing the same to Kate. She let them go and turned to Frankie.

Holding an arm up he smiled and hugged her lightly, "I had a lot of fun, Liv. I hope we can all do this again."

"We will Frankie, no worries about that." She said. "Take care and pay attention to that cute rookie or I'll slide in there later and steal her from you."

He laughed, "Right. Like that would happen."

"One night with Liv." Jane snickered knowingly to Kate who started laughing as she strapped on her helmet.

Frankie glared at her, "One night with Liv?"

Kate started laughing harder as Jane grinned, "You've never lived till one night with Liv. Ask Casey Novak."

He rolled his eyes and looked straight at Liv, "Take care of yourself, sis."

She hugged him again, "You look out for your sisters in Boston or I'll kick your ass all the way back here."

He nodded, "Will do." He said and he threw a leg over the seat of his Racer. "Time to look out of place for a thousand miles."

Colin rolled out of the hangar on his Black Harley Street stalker and glared. "I can't believe I'm gonna ride next to that European garbage, on my own base no less."

"Hey." Frankie barked, "It's Japanese. It's just painted European."

Colin rolled his eyes, "Just great, Asian junk pretending to be British. At least the actual people who made that thing are nice enough."

"You've been to Japan?" Frankie asked in surprise.

"Boyo, there's not many places on this earth I haven't been." He said with a smirk. "Come on and I'll tell you about this little Geisha girl I knew in Okinawa. Oh she was a real sweetheart, tiny as shite but she could kick your arse all over the pacific. Ninety-five pound minx was a black belt in jujitsu."

He revved his engine slightly. Jane fired up her bike followed closely by Kate and Frankie followed suit.

Liv smiled slightly and waved them goodbye before Kate lead the pack away, Colin held back for a second, "Are you sure? You don't have to do this alone."

"I know." She said and pointed at the retreating bikes, "My sisters have told me that enough times."

"Mitch is on his way and he's bringing his boyfriend with him. He said he'll be here after he closes down the Shield till the next expo."

Liv nodded, "Go on Colin. I'll be fine."

For the first time in years Colin could hear it in her voice and he believed her; Olivia was well on her way to healing her old wounds.

He nodded, hugged her and dropped his black behemoth into gear before tearing off to catch up with the others.

She stood in the drive for a long time watching as they turned the first corner and the dust caught in the wind.

Half an hour later a blue dodge pickup pulled up the drive and parked off the side of the building. Liv was seated at the bar and awaiting them as Mitch and his boyfriend Nick walked in. Both were tall and good looking men but where Mitch was clean cut and well dressed, Nick was ragged looking and tattooed.

Mitch nodded to her and headed straight for the small bar to mix her a Stoli Mai Tai. While Nick set his small case on the counter.

Without a word Liv took off her shirt and resat herself in the stool in only her bra as Mark opened the tattoo kit and began to set up. Mitch set up two additional Mai Tais that he set on the counter within easy reach of the tall brunette.

Nick pulled a stool closer to her and nodded, "We're all set. Just tell me what and where."

Liv rested her left arm on the counter, "This first. In Celtic letters I want it to read, 'Sister is God's way of proving that He doesn't want us to walk alone.'"

"That's interesting." He said as he plugged in the kit. "Is there a meaning that might help me understand what you want?"

A single tear welled beneath her eyes, "I got lost in my own pain and forgot that I'm not alone. I never want to forget that my sisters are there for me again."

He nodded and pulled a vial of black ink out and set it in the machine.

Mitch cleared his throat as she sipped her drink. "So what are we doing today?"

Liv got a look in her eye. "Cut it off."

He raised an eyebrow at her, "How much?"

She picked up a picture off the counter and handed it to him. His other eyebrow rose, "All of it." She said simply and turned to Nick, "When you're done," She patted her shoulder. "I have another idea for my shoulder."

Nick looked up at Mitch, then to the woman he only met once before, when he inked the tiger inside her hip. "Whatever you want, Liv."

Mitch pulled out his shears and started cutting off the long lengths of her hair as Nick stuck the ink gun to her arm and pulled the trigger.

Don't know how long it's going to take to recover my files or if they can even be recovered. I've been requested to post my story on Olivia. I'll get on that as soon as i figure out how to move it from google.
