Chapter Six

It was a dreamless sleep that night for Sookie. No tempting dreams of Viking lust- but just complete blackness. Her arm reached out- finding nothing there…, her eyes opened. It was morning- she could tell from the light that slowly leaked in through her curtains- so it didn't really worry her that Godric had to go to ground. Even though- she wished that she could open her eyes to him every morning. Everything had changed now. Eric was back in her life, the 1,000 year old Viking that she didn't want to think about- let alone feel love for. But her mind couldn't forget how right it felt when she was embraced by his strong arms. She couldn't forget how she had felt sitting between the two ancient vampires. Moving towards her bathroom- Sookie slid the shower handle to the right.

The sound of running water masked the harsh breaths Sookie was now emitting. Her mind was overthinking it- her heart pounding erratically. Thinking that a cold shower could lessen the effects the two vampires had on her. After a few moments in the shower, and minutes after that to get rid of some human 'needs', she walked out of room and towards her closet. She wanted to do a list of things before the sun went down. Thanks to the information Alex gave her the night before- she had been gone for five years. That was a lot of time- last time she had been to Faerie she been gone for a year. Five years- that is a lot of time for things to drastically change. First off- she needed to see her brother. She needed to see if Jason was safe, and alive. For her brother was the last bit of family that connected her to her gran, and her parents. Then she needed to check on Tara- her friend that had stuck by her ever since they were kids. Tara too connected her to a past that was slowly slipping right through her fingers. She had lost a total amount of six years to Faerie- and she didn't want to imagine more to pile up on- top of the years that had already been taken.

After squeezing through a pink sundress- Sookie descended down the steps and out towards her car. Her car wasn't what she remembered however, she should of known, last time she came back she came back to a new refurbished house- so seeing a brand new Audi in-front of her made her take a step back and admire it. She couldn't remember the last time that she had something so…nice. But the thought was only little compared to the thoughts she would tell Eric- she didn't like having things given to her. She wanted to work for the things she got- her grandmother didn't raise her like that. She was losing daylight- so she pushed the angry thoughts she wanted to yell at Eric- to the back of her mind.

A few minutes later- Sookie was almost to the house her parents had vacated when they were alive. At a young age when Jason turned eighteen- he moved out of grans house and made our parent's house his own. She was nervous she could honestly tell herself. How would Jason react? It was six years since Jason had become a cop- what else could he do to surprise her? Sookie parked her car in the driveway and turned the engine off.

'Ready or not' Sookie thought- her thoughts painting scenarios.

With a firm knock against the door- footsteps could be heard on the other side. Laughs- those were a good sign. A male voice laughed, as the door opened.

The laugh died- and Jason eyes leaked blood.
