***True Blood: Season 8***

**Chapter Seven**

Sookie stopped short. Whatever she was expecting- it wasn't this.

Her own brother who had always reminded her that vampires were wrong- he even joined a vampire hate group for crying out loud. So Sookie kept her jaw shut- for she couldn't think of any words to say to him. Whatever words she did try to speak caught in her throat. Jason on the other hand had a completely different reaction- and frankly Sookie was a little off kilter when Jason stepped into the broad daylight and hugged her.

Squeezing the very life out of her, "Jason, its daylight. Why aren't you burning?"

Sookie pushed her brother back into the door, and Jason could only laugh in response. "You would ask that. So, you know how you're a fairy- we'll because of our roots from great grand-daddy Niall- he bestowed upon me the power to walk in the daylight."

Niall? He is so dead. Sookie thought.

"Well that was mighty generous of him." Jason nodded, and asked his own question.

"Where have you've been this time, Sook? I mean five years was a lot of time to go missing." Jason said concerned.

This however, made Sookie smile…

She had missed five years- but in those five years she could see the same old brother she used to know- albeit more mature then his old self. "I was in Faerie."

Jason didn't look shocked, "You couldn't have told Niall to give me a message?" He fired off in return, and this time Sookie was mad.

"Jason Stackhouse, I'm so sorry- but I didn't have the best of times when I was there. I was only there because of Alex shot me." Her anger subsided as Jason felt her anger for her.

"Well that sun of a… I'll kill him. He played me- saying that he was the one who was left. Bringing you flowers once a month- damn him!" Jason looked at his sister, as she sat down upon the couch.

Jason was by her side immediately- rubbing her back in slow circles- calming her.

"He's already dead- Eric killed him." Sookie said, while looking up at Jason for his reaction at the mention of the blonde-Viking.

"Good." Sookie was lost…, didn't Jason hate him?

"Don't you hate, Eric?" voicing out her own thoughts, while Jason answered them

"No, I like him. He always gave his all to protect you, and his progeny saved my life." His explanation was like a slap in the face- her brother had been in danger?

Was it this danger that made him turn into the monster he based his life on killing? "Pam, saved you?" Sookie questioned- not believing the couch coulter vampire would turn him.

"No- it was Willa."

"The baby- vamp?" Sookie returned, and Jason only nodded.

Apparently, during the five years I was up in Faerie- Jason and Willa had been a thing. Even more than his relationship with Jessica had lasted.

Sookie, was surprised that Willa changed him- but she couldn't be angry at her. Not for saving her brother's life, and she didn't think Jason regretted what she did to him. Sookie didn't want to ask- knowing in time Jason could tell her what made him turn into a vampire. And she would wait.

"So- is Tara alright?" Sookie asked, forwarding the conversation to a new light.

Standing up, Sookie walked towards the fridge and took out a bottle of water, while Jason continued to tell her all that she missed.

"Tara didn't make it…" At this Sookie ceased drinking, and lowered the bottle to the counter top.

"How?" Sookie whispered.

"We'll after the first year you were gone things weren't the same. Tara thought it was her fault that you left- that if she had been a better friend that you might have stayed. Since, she told me that she had been ignoring you for a while."

It was true, Tara had been ignoring her, she just wanted to talk to her about how she felt about Alex, and that she didn't love him. But, how was this important?

"Why is this important?" Sookie expressed, but Jason's eyes only narrowed.

"Well after the first year Tara took it pretty hard- not even Pam could calm her down- and Pam was her maker." Jason had me worried, "What are you holding back?" Sookie cautiously asked.

"Tara killed herself."

It was like a bomb had erupted within her mind- she felt cold.

Jason was there- holding her upright since she knew that her legs would have given out considering the information that she just learned.

Jason carried her over to the sofa- water completely forgotten about- and Jason just continued to rub at her back. Giving her all the support she needed.

Moments pass…, as Sookie stood up.

Wiping the tears that fell down her cheeks away.

"I need to get going- the sun will be down soon." Jason nodded- but asked, "Is Eric in the cubby?"

This time Sookie stopped- looking at Jason.

"No. He's not." Sookie replied. "Who is it, then?" Jason curiously asked- if it was a vampire that Jason didn't know he would run out and stake the bastard.

Jason's thoughts stopped, however, at the name that came spilling out of his sister's lips, "It's Godric."

If vampires could go into shock- Jason would be the prime candidate.
