***True Blood: Season 8***

**Chapter Eight**

Jason had decided to follow Sookie home.

Knowing full-well that his sister was a magnet for danger. It shocked him still- he hadn't known Godric well- but from what he saw from the chain of events back in Dallas- Godric was the only vampire that was merciful, and lived by a code towards human beings.

He had stopped the fellowship in their actions, and saved many humans and vampires from unnecessary bloodshed. The image of his sister when they were boarding the plane back from Dallas- was something that he didn't want to see again. The pure sorrow that washed over her was something Jason hadn't seen in a long time; not since their parents had ended up dead by Warlow. Sookie cared for Godric and lamented his death for a long time-she trusted him not just because she was there in his final moments- it was because he had appealed to her sense of morality and justice he had done when he had met the sun.

A vampire that cared more about human life then living…

On the way back home Sookie had explained to him more of what happened in Faerie. How Godric had saved her life.

Jason remembered when the nurse had explained to him that his sister didn't have a definite blood type way back when- Bill had almost drained her dry in Mississippi- they had to use Bill's blood- even though Jason was blind angry at the time. Godric gave his sister a blood transfusion-and Jason would be forever grateful to him for saving his sister's life.

And Jason knew that he owed a life debt to the vampire that brought his sister to health.

They neared Sookie's house pulling up through the drive-way, which Sookie had built a couple years back- Jason parked his truck.

As the sun was nearing its final moments in the sky, instead of bright blue hues painting the sky; red, yellow, and orange painted the sky. Slowly dimming until all colors lost their meaning turning to black.

The time where vampire rose for the night- Jason could hear the soft creak of the cubby door begin to open- ushering his sister into the house. Sookie smiled- when Godric came to stand beside her- but was confused when he felt another vampire's presence near Sookie. His eyes met Sookie's brothers- and his curiosity was answered with more curiosity for he felt a slight bond to the vampire who said he was Sookie's brother.

"Who is your maker?" Godric questioned Jason.

"Willa Burrell, Eric's Progeny." With that answer Godric backed down a bit…, surprised to find that Eric had made another child, and that he had a great-grandchild.

"I'm sorry for seeming forceful, Mr. Stackhouse. I was just surprised my child didn't alert me to making another child. Know that I will always protect my bloodline." Jason felt in awe of the ancient vampire before him, and felt pride for himself for being somewhat blood related to the ancient vampire.

"It seems like a lot has happened since we both were gone, little one." Godric directed to Sookie, and Sookie replied, "You have no idea."

Godric raised a brow in question- then Sookie shared the story of his other great-grandchild, how Tara had killed herself because she had left.

Sookie tried to hold back the tears, but to find that she couldn't- Godric was by her side immediately ushering words of protectiveness, calmness, and love. It wasn't her fault Godric explained to her, and that just made Sookie cry more.

"I don't blame any of this on you, little one. Know that this isn't your fault." Godric brushed her hair back, her tearful eyes looking up to his cerulean ones- they conveyed an assurance.

That as long as Godric was next to her she would be fine, and the sense of loss would become easier.

After a couple of minutes, Sookie's sobs had subsided, and Godric exchanged words with Jason. Finding out all he had missed since he was topside in Faerieland.

Apparently, Eric had made a new company to replace True Blood- marketing his new idea of New Blood. It came to complete shock to Godric that a serious epidemic had fallen out. Infected vampires, and humans that were nearly the cause of a vampire extinction.

To find out that Sarah Newlin, the wife of Steve Newlin, the reverend that his underling, Stan wanted to kill. He had become a vampire, and became a PR person for the Vampire Authority. Since Godric's child killed Nan, to which Godric was proud. Moreover, that Sarah's blood was the catalyst for a cure. Mixing her blood with New Blood, was genius on his child's part.

Godric had missed a lot. But to see Sookie battling all the hardships- was enough to calm his emotions, and stay composed. She was a warrior, and that compelled Godric to have her more. He could sense his child's presence getting closer as Eric entered from the front door.

"Godric." Eric expressed in greeting.

"My son." Godric replied. "Why didn't you tell me you created another child?" Eric seemed surprised by the question- but answered his maker nonetheless.

"It was a strategic strategy only, Godric. I know that our blood is sacred, but it was the only thing I could do to get the upper hand in killing the son of a bitch who caused harm to many of the vampires in my area."

Godric sat his hand on the now kneeling Eric, "I understand, my child. It gives me such joy to know that you haven't changed. To be the same warrior, the same vampire that would do anything to protect the ones he loves. "

Eric could feel nothing but affection through the maker- child bond. In all his 1,000 years as a vampire; Eric was happy. To finally get a second chance with his Maker that he loved. It was all thanks to Sookie, again. And, he would do just about anything for her.
