The Hedgehog's Dilemma dictates that despite the intention of a reciprocal relationship, it may not occur for reasons that two individuals cannot avoid. And what we didn't expect to happen at all begins to happen a lot? Growing up in the shadow of the apocalypse, all Shinji Ikari ever wanted to do was reconnect with what little family he has left. On the cusp of his sixteenth birthday however, it would seem his father, and fate itself for that matter, have much more in mind for him.

In a world where Second Impact did not happen as SEELE intended and humanity discovered they were not alone in the universe, the rules have changed and fate has been driven off the rails. 43 years later, a street orphan without a past slowly finds out that nothing is what it seems to be. Set in the anime, starting with the end of the Twelfth Angel attack, Shinji, along with NERV, find themselves having to deal with the unexpected, and very unimaginable arrival of a new generation with a tie to the hurtful past. Since there is an infinite number of alternate universes, the same scenario can be visited over and over again, with different results.

The war has ended and the world is safe. Shinji and Asuka, now a couple, invite their friends over to play the same tabletop game that helped them tear down their emotional barriers. (Pseudo-sequel to "Lucky Rolls". Rated T for safety. Contains Asushin, because of course it does)

This time Gendo Ikari gets a chance to right his wrongs, sent back from the third impact inside the brain of the Shinji we all know and love from episode 1. With a great father like Gendo to lean on this can only lead to positive growth for our hero. Not to mention with his foresight of the angels the fights are gonna be easier than ever right?, RIGHT?

During a test with the MAGI connected to a dummy Eva, the nano machine angel Iruel invaded NERV and began to overtake the lifeless bodies. It was smart, adaptable, but in the end defeated. What remained of its fight with the MAGI system incorporated itself into the empty Eva, and became its own sentient version of the titanic fighting machines. CANON DIVERGENCE/AU
