While VIP is known to run birth certificates of celebrity babies regularly the shocker was the name listed as the father of six month old Abbey. Instead of Ms. Pope's husband Jake Ballard, the name on the father line? Director and Hollywood royalty Fitzgerald Grant! We reached out to both Ms. Pope and Mr. Grant but were given the standard 'no comment'. Olivia Pope and Jake Ballard were married about a year and a half ago in a secret ceremony in the Caribbean. Five months later Pope and Ballard welcomed Abigail Faith. Neither parent has discussed the baby nor has the baby been seen publicly. Fitzgerald Grant filed for divorce from wife of 25 years, Mellie Grant, shortly after Ms. Pope's wedding. That divorce was finalized last month. Rumors had surrounded Grant and Pope for years up until her marriage. The duo met in 2008 at a benefit and were soon inseparable as Ms. Pope began working for the Grant Family following the arrest of Fitz's brother Patrick for tax evasion. Just before Ms. Pope married Jake Ballard, there was a lot of talk that Olivia and Fitz were about to go public with their relationship and Grant would file for divorce. Olivia shut off the television. The same story was being reported on every channel from E! To CNN. Her paternity bombshell was the lead on every news channel. So far it had just been the shock of it all and nothing really scathing but Olivia knew that was going to be short lived. They would all come for her and for Fitz. It was just a matter of time. She was rattled from her thoughts by her ringing phone.

'What?' Olivia answered.

'Liv? Liv, have you lost your mind!? I know you leaked her birth certificate. Why didn't you talk to me first? We needed to make a plan!'

'Calm down. Harrison! I didn't tell you or anyone else because I didn't want to be talked out of it and I knew that if I didn't just do it, I would lose my nerve and I could not spend one more second living this lie. All of it needs to come out, Harrison. Every last skeleton because Abbey cannot grow up with these lies hanging over her. It isn't fair to her. 'Olivia was adamant. She knew her team and she knew Harrison. Harrison was her most loyal gladiator and he would lay down his life to protect her and to protect her daughter. He was in full gladiator in a suit mode which meant he was thinking of ways to get back to the lie. To reverse what had been done. Olivia needed him to know that was not an option. They needed to survive this but with the truth. She listened as Harrison took a deep breath. Several moments passed and she could hear his wheels spinning.

'Oprah. It has to be Oprah.' He finally said.

'Why?' Olivia asked. She knew the answer but she needed to hear it out loud to be secure in the choice.

'Oprah is trusted, empathetic, and tough. She will ask the hard questions but she won't judge. She will empathize with you and the position you were in. She is a successful black woman that has worked her way through a white male dominated field just like you. She will understand your fear at being labeled a 'home wrecker' or a 'whore'. She will be able to put herself in your shoes and Oprah is the best out there at walking her audience through the story with an open mind and heart. It has to be Oprah and it has to be both of you, together. You and Fitz. You tell your story separately and then together. You walk Oprah through your friendship, the affair, and what ultimately turned out to be two soul mates. You make America fall in love with your love story. And Liv…you need to do it immediately because if I know Mellie Grant, she is on the line with Diane Sawyer as we speak gearing up to come out and play the victim. You have to beat her to the punch because if you don't the collateral damage will be astronomical. '

'When did you get this good, Wright?'

'I learned from the best. I will get Harpo on the line and set it up. Then I will get with the others to try and get ahead of this until the interview can air. You need to get Fitz on board.'

'He will do whatever we need. All he wants is to be with me and with his daughter.'

'You're together then? No hard feelings? It's all worked out between you?'

'He asked me to marry him, Harrison. He bought a ring just before….he bought a ring and he forgives me.' Olivia explained her voice breaking.

'That is fantastic, Liv. I am so happy for you and for Abbey. You deserve to be happy and I know he makes you happy. All right, I'm going to rally the troops. I will call you once we have it set.' Harrison replied.

'Thank you. Oh and Harrison? See if Oprah will be willing to do the interview at Fitz's house. There is less exposure there. The paparazzi can't get close to the house.'

'You got it.'

Olivia hung up the phone and looked back at the blank television screen. She felt less anxious knowing Harrison was taking the lead. He was right Oprah was the best choice for the interview. He was also right about what the interview needed to entail. They needed to come totally clean. It was risky and Olivia knew she would lose clients and Fitz would taking a beating PR wise but it was the only way they could live their lives. It was the only Abbey would be able to have as normal a life as possible.

'Penny for your thoughts, beautiful.' Olivia looked at the door frame and saw Fitz leaning there. She smiled softly.

'Hi.'

'Hi.' He said as he moved to sit next to her. 'Thank you for letting me put Abbey down for her nap.'

'Don't thank me, Fitz. She's your baby.'

'I know but she is still getting used to me and I can see you struggling with what you think she can handle. I know you want to step in and do these things. Mostly because you have been doing them alone for so long. I appreciate you fighting that instinct and allowing me to bond with her. I've missed so much. I just feel like I need this time with her.'

'You know me too well, Mr. Grant. You're right. When she cries or she needs to be fed or changed or when I see that my sleepy baby needs a nap, my instinct is to take care of those needs. I'm her mommy and I have been doing all of this for the last six months with just the help of Molly. But that was my choice. I made the decision to keep her from you and that was probably the worst thing I have ever done to anyone. So now I will not deny you a single second with her. She will need to adjust to having you around all of the time but she will be fine. She already looks at you like you hung the moon. Deep down I always knew she would be a daddy's girl. 'Olivia smiled.

'God I hope so! She is the most amazing thing I have ever seen. She is perfect. She is exactly what I always knew a child with you would be. I am so in love with her.' Fitz gushed. Olivia felt her heart melt. She curled up next to him on the sofa and laid her head on his shoulder.

'I just spoke with Harrison. He has a plan.' Olivia said quietly.

'Okay?'

'He thinks that we need to sit down and tell the whole story. How we met, when we began the affair, Jake, Mellie, Abbey, but mostly he thinks we need to let the world see our love story. That Abbey isn't a product of an affair but the creation of two people that were made to love one another.'

'What do you think?' Fitz asked.

'I agree with him completely.'

'So do I. So let's do it.'

'He's reaching out to Harpo now. We need to do it soon. Before Mellie or Jake have the opportunity to hit the press with their own versions.'

'Oprah? I have made 3 of the biggest blockbusters in cinematic history and I have never met her. This will be interesting on a lot of levels.'

'Do you want someone else?' Olivia asked hoping he didn't. Oprah was the one.

'Nope. I will do whatever you need me to do. I will talk to anyone and everyone you think is necessary as long as after it's all over I get to marry you and we get to be a family.' Fitz looked into her brown eyes. 'All I have ever wanted from the moment I met you was to spend the rest of my life at your side.'

'Fitz, you're going to make me cry.' Olivia sniffled.

'Going to?' He snickered. 'Livvie, come on.' He stood and reached for her hand.

'Where are you taking me?'

'To bed. You haven't slept at all and the next several days are going to be brutal. I am going to hold you until you fall asleep and then when that mini you in the other room wakes up , she and I are going to make dinner while you sleep.'

Olivia wanted to protest but she knew he was right. She followed him to the bedroom and they both stripped down to their underwear and crawled into bed. Olivia laid her head on Fitz's chest as he wrapped his arms around her. Within seconds she was snoring lightly. Fitz checked the volume on the baby monitor and closed his eyes. He heard both his and Liv's phones vibrate. He lifted his and saw a text message from Harrison: Oprah tomorrow 5pm Casa Grant. Will air live on OWN. Wking on getting it 2 air on 1 of the big 3 too. Fitz sighed. In 27 hours the entire story of Fitzgerald Grant the Third and Olivia Pope would be out. He knew he should be worried but he wasn't. He was confident that they would be able to make the world see them for what they were. He kissed the top of Olivia's head and settled in for a nap with the love of his life while their baby slept in the next room. In 27 hours they would be free, come what may.

Oh hiiii! How are you? I know it's been forever! I needed to stretch my writing legs a bit. So I figured I would continue this one. I will try and not have it been several months before I update again but you may need to rattle my cage about it a bit. I am not sure if I will write the actual interview or not. It would be hard to write Oprah's voice. But we will see. I have another story kicking around in my head so either way you will see something from me sooner rather than later.
