A squad of American Marines were moving through the remains of San Francisco, searching for PLA Forces the citizens of this city had been evacuated back in 2014 after the invasion. But American Forces had been too little too late.
By the time they started evacuating people 300 were already dead. That squad was part of the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, these men and women were followed by several M1 Abrams tanks and IAV Strykers. This squad dubbed "Beta" squad had already killed 4 PLA Soldiers, and lost 2 of their own...
"Hey Collins shouldn't you be off Training again, you couldn't hit one damn Chinese soldier and you ain't yet." said Corporal Larry Nichols.
"Knock it off Corporal leave Collins alone." replied Sgt. Marlene Johnson one of the Sargent s in the squad.
"Alright Fine Collins can keep to his own damn self then."
The Soldier they were talking about was Private Mike Collins 26 who had arrived in Beta squad four days ago. He had never been well liked, in fact Corporal Nichols had regularly "cracked" on him. Though Sgt. Johnson seemed to have his back.
As the squad came upon the intersection of Hollis and 3rd Street they came face to face with two Chinese soldiers who stared them down for a second until...
Freeze DO NOT MOVE! Said Captain Johnathan Davis the leader of the squad.
The two Chinese scouts realizing they were out manned dropped their weapons which happened to be QBZ-95's a Chinese Assault Rifle.
"Drop ALL your goddamn weapons." growled Davis.
He had disdain for the Chinese since the invasion.
But before the squad could do anything the Chinese yelled to nearby comrades in Chinese saying,
"Duì dírén zài zhèlǐ! Měiguó rén! Gǎo gǎo!" they shouted. Then as suddenly as they knew it the squad was under fire.
MOVE GET TO COVER NOW! Shouted Sgt. Johnson.
The squad ran to cover behind three parked cars.
"Where taking heavy fire from the intersection of Hollis and third!" they very much were their were sounds of gunfire coming from in front of the marines.
"Where are Jose and Garner?" said Corporal Nichols.
The other two soldiers were dead killed immediately when the other PLA soldiers opened fire.
"Jose and Garner are dead Captain!" said Pvt. Collins
"Holy shit! Collins can talk!" said corporal Nichols.
"Nichols shut the hell up! And Collins radio for air support." screamed Sgt. Johnson.
"Copy this is beta squad we need air support! Now!"
"Negative Bravo two – six we can't give you support at this time all air support is busy."
"Fuck!" said Collins
Now they knew they were own their own in a shootout...
