Chapter Two
Arthur sat stiffly in his chair, staring straight ahead with little thought but how many brinks lay to create the wall ahead of him.
He licked his lips in afterthought, then immediately banged his head down when he remembered just how his lips remained wet before.
What does one even do after a spectacle like that?
After such an inappropriate display by his own servant no less!
Such an inappropriate action that rallied the very core of the prince.
Another groan escaped Arthur at this though.
Merlin.
Merlin was supposed to be this innocent, absentminded fool that never did anything right. A fool that stood up to the prince, yes, but never stepped over the line they both knew was there.
What could possibly serge Merlin such forwardness? Enough to jeopardize his job? His life if Uther ever found out.
Arthur stood up straight with a head dizzying movement.
"Of course!" he shouted to an empty room, his voice slightly echoing off the bare bricks.
"Magic."
A light brighter than a candles flame lit up in Arthur's blond head.
"Magic," he said with more determination, heading out the door with a loud bang and barging past the guards. Arthur continued down the winding tunnels and stairs, acknowledging the knights absentmindedly as he passed them.
Knowing Merlin's fate should he divulge his suspicions, he knocked on the door of the only one he could trust.
This chapter is dedicated to 09Alice1, who honestly reminded me that this story actually still existed.
I wrote this continuation years ago and like a horrible procrastinator that I am, I never posted it. My sincere apologies. Since I now have it on the brain, I'll be continuing this story until finished. I suspect two or three more chapters before it's complete.
