Hey all, just a few chapters left! I'm going to have the last few up soon, and hopefully you all love it! Thank you all for reading! Please review! xoxo
Gabriella opened her eyes and grimaced, things were bad in Vega. They needed to stop Gabriel and Lucifer and their armies. She pulled the car away from the side of the road and drove fast, faster than ever before. The next day flew by as she used her power to keep track of Lucifer's bright spot of power, moving steadily towards Vega.
When Gabriella felt the bright spot that was Lucifer's power come to a stop, she focused on it harder and found him, just across the American side of border, a few hours from Vega. She grinned and pushed down on the gas pedal harder. They were only a few minutes away. She reached over and slapped Raguel's leg, "Wake up!" she called.
He gasped and startled awake looking around, "W-what's going on?" Gabriella grinned, "We're about five minutes from Lucy and Gabriel!" Raguel raised a brow, "Lucy?"
She laughed, "It just occurred to me." He shook his head and leaned around the seat to wake Michael, who came to quickly. Gabriella smiled at him in the rearview mirror and then focused on the road, they were almost there.
A few minutes later she pulled over to the side of the road, and the three of them piled out of the car. Gabriella popped the trunk and stripped her heavy jacket off, grabbing her thigh holster and strapping it on. She slid her 9mm into the holster and grabbed the spear of Heaven, sliding it into the shoulder holster that Michael had crafted for her.
Michael and Raguel armed themselves with swords and guns until they were completely laden with all the weapons they had. Gabriella led them through the desert, the sand blowing in their faces as they walked past a ramshackle half destroyed house.
Gabriella felt Lucifer's power growing as they neared, and just as they crested a large sand dune, she saw Gabriel and Lucifer standing, looking into the distance at the walls of Vega. She called out to them, "Hey boys! Did you miss me?"
Raguel and Michael flanked her on either side, their weapons drawn and their wings blown wide. Lucifer and Gabriel turned to see them and expanded their own wings, stepping forward. Lucifer smirked at Gabriella, "I see you've brought re-enforcements. Do you really expect to be able to stop us?"
Gabriella smirked back, "I do actually. Egotistical bastards don't get to win, and you most certainly don't get to rule over Earth as some sort of tyrannical overlord."
The smirk wiped off of Lucifer's face, "You shouldn't speak to me that way. I am eons older than you, and have power beyond your imagining. I could wipe you off the face of the earth." Gabriella grinned, "Oh Lucy, you could try."
Lucifer growled and stepped forward, "How dare you use my name in such a way you filthy half breed!" Gabriella laughed, "Half breed? I'm an angel you fool!" Lucifer glared at her furiously, "Only because of a prophecy. You were always meant to be human. Humanity is supposed to be subjugated."
Gabriella felt her anger growing, "How dare you. Humanity is free. Our Father meant for them to be free and make their own decisions and mistakes. He cast you down because you thought you were better than humanity; you wanted them to worship you. That's not how things are meant to be. Now step aside, or be cast down once more."
Lucifer glowered with rage and stood straighter, sparks of energy coming off of him. In a swift movement, he flung his hand out and blasted a ball of power at them. Gabriella spun swiftly, blocking the ball with her wings, sending it twirling off into the desert.
She dropped her wings and glared at him pulling her spear out of the sheath, twirling it in her hands before pointing it at Lucifer, "That is quite enough." Over her shoulder she heard Michael call to her, "Be careful Gabriella."
"Of course my love. Now please, can you handle the other wanna be tyrant?" she asked, her tone light, but her voice was still serious.
In the corner of her vision she could see him and Raguel step forward further, drawing their swords and facing off against Gabriel who gave the pair a contemptuous smirk. Turning her attention back to Lucifer she drew her power around her, and stepped forward, sending a blast wave of power forward, knocking him back with a wave of wind, sand and raw power.
Rushing him, she used her wings to buffet the air and blow more sand in his face. Lucifer kept his own wings up, shielding his face until she stopped and then attacked her viciously with his wings and fists, driving her back until she caught him around the knees with a roundhouse kick, knocking him off balance.
She drove him back with furious blows to the chest with her fists and elbows, using the spear as a hammer to beat into his sides when he left himself open. Lucifer landed a hard right hook on her jaw, sending her reeling back, seeing stars.
Glancing over her shoulder she saw that Raguel and Michael were fighting Gabriel desperately, completely engrossed in their fight. Turning back to Lucifer, she saw that he looked tired, but not exhausted or worn down enough to be defeated.
Gathering her power, Gabriella put her plan into action. She reached her hands out and pulled at Lucifer, drawing him towards her, grinning at his horrified expression. When he was no less than 3 feet from her, she wrapped her power around him and tied it to her, and then began to warp their reality, drawing them out of the desert and into the dark swirling space between their reality and that of another.
She gritted her teeth, clamping down on her power, holding them there, and grinned at Lucifer, watching as he struggled to escape the bonds of her power. Lucifer glared at her, "Release me witch!" Gabriella shook her head, "Why would I ever do that? You want to destroy everything I hold dear."
He struggled harder and she could feel his power fighting hers, thrashing against it, and weakening hers. She sent a surge of power into the bonds holding him, clamping down hard and grinning when she saw him wince.
She slowly loosened the tie of power tethering her to Lucifer and began to ground it in the walls of the in between place they were in. If Lucifer tried to escape, he would tear the walls of the realities down around him, destroying himself. There would be no escape.
When she had secured him, she stared at Lucifer for a long moment and then shook her head, "I hope that after a century or two here, you'll come to see why what you were trying to do was wrong." After she had created an exit for herself she looked back to see Lucifer struggling against his bonds, glaring at her and swearing.
As she left the in between realm, she felt a bolt of his power wrap around her wrist, tugging her back, holding her between realities. She looked back and saw Lucifer grinning at her, his expression one of twisted pleasure.
His power tightened to unbearable levels, making her cry out in pain, writhing, trying to escape. Lucifer laughed, enjoying her pain. Gabriella glared at him, "Fuck you very much!" and groaned at the pain before launching a spear bolt of power at him, slamming it into his head, knocking him unconscious.
As he fell, she felt the walls of the realities crumpling around them, beginning to crush them into nonexistence. Gabriella screamed in agony, and made a split second decision, yanking Lucifer through the exit with her.
Landing on the sand, Gabriella released her power and felt the maelstrom it caused, the sand blowing around them wildly. She coughed sand out of her mouth, her body aching from the battering that Lucifer had given her, and the damage that the transition between realms caused.
She looked up at the sound of battle, and saw Michael and Gabriel fighting, both men swearing and bleeding. Raguel was on the ground, bleeding and unconscious. She looked over and saw Lucifer's large form crumpled on the ground. Gabriella stood unsteadily, her head swimming, and made her way over to Lucifer, standing over his still form.
She wrapped him in chains of her power, restraining him. Hearing a cry of pain she looked up to see Gabriel on his knees, clutching his shoulder as Michael pulled a sword out.
Gabriella went to walk over to them and stopped, falling to her knees, her head pounding in pain. Clutching her head she felt tears stream down her face as darkness claimed her vision. She heard Michael and Gabriel arguing as she passed out.
Michael stood, his wounds aching and weeping blood, his body throbbing with glared down at Gabriel, his chest heaving from battle, "You won't escape from this Gabriel. You've slaughtered millions, enslaved more, and now you want to rule Heaven? You won't. I won't let you." Gabriel grinned madly up at him, blood covering his teeth, "I will have everything Michael. And I will use your precious Dynameis to get it."
With a swift movement Gabriel lunged up and stabbed a small blade into Michael's thigh, twisting it viciously with a wicked glare, before he extended his wings and flew away to Lucifer and Gabriella. Dropping down beside their still figures he shook Lucifer roughly until the other man woke, "Get up, we have to go."
Lucifer shook his head, dazed, and stood unsteadily. He leaned down and grabbed a hold of Gabriella's arm, dragging her a short distance and then hauled her upright until he could lift her and she was lying over his shoulder. He struggled for a moment with her weight, grimacing, and then steadied, his face a mask of pain. He spread his wings and followed Gabriel into the sky, his wing beats labored with exhaustion and the extra weight of carrying Gabriella.
Michael ripped the knife out of his leg with a groan and followed them, his heart racing as he screamed out Gabriella's name, flying as hard as he could. He watched in horror as Lucifer and Gabriel flew further and further away from him, getting closer to Vega.
He dropped to the ground when they flew out of sight and fell to his knees, unbearable pain tearing at his heart. He never thought he would lose Gabriella again, and now she had been taken from him again. Alex, Gabriella and all of humanity was in danger, and he needed to stop Lucifer and Gabriel. He needed Gabriella to help him, and he didn't have her with him anymore.
Raising his head he glared in the direction of Vega, he wouldn't give up the woman he loved without a fight. He wouldn't give up on humanity either, his Father had given him a mission, and Gabriella had been brought to his side to help him save humanity, to make him better, and he knew he couldn't give up on that. Rising up from the ground he turned away, going to find Raguel. He would need help for this fight.
