As a apologize I have a major SPOILER at the end of the chapter in my notes. So skip it if you don't want to read.

Anon replies:

S: Sorry for the wait :( But Delly leaving I'm sure was a shocker

Guest: Sorry for the long wait! Don't worry I will finsh my stories I don't plan on letting anyone hanging. Thanks btw.

Funnierthanu: Enobaria was already mentioned in this AU. She is mentioned in the ending chapters of "Trip to the Capitol", and is in a chapter of "Freshman Year". As for Brutus and more of Enobaria, I plan on all other victors I haven't mentioned yet being included into this story later ;)

SeamSweetheart: Upated! :D Sorry for the wait.

ENJOY THE CHAPTER! It's a love triangle one :)

Last Time on "What I Wouldn't Do": Cato was sent home early after a fight with Finnick over Clove due to his jealously. After the fight Cato broke with Clove. Meanwhile Gloss and Clove grew closer together with Clove very aware Gloss has a crush on her. Coming back to school, Gloss finds out about Cashmere and Marvel's relationship. Although Cashmere already dumped Marvel, Gloss fights with Marvel. After the fight Marvel and Clove are together.

Chapter 3 "Jealous"

Clove's POV

After eighth period when Marvel stops by my locker. Marvel hugs Glimmer and greets me with a quick peck to the check. I smile in return. Marvel suggests watching movies at his place this weekend instead of going to The Hob like Glimmer suggested, and it sounds perfect. Just him and me, all alone. That is exactly what the two of us need.

"Cash is coming this way," Glimmer says, pushing Marvel closer to me.

Neither Marvel nor I bother to look; we'll take Glimmer's word for it. I wrap my hands around Marvel's neck and pull him into a kiss.

This has been our routine for the past few days. Marvel and I hand in hand in the hallways and whenever we spot Cash, we get intimate. How it started is kind of a long story…

It was right after Gloss and Marvel's fight. After Finnick pulled Gloss off of Marvel, I pulled Marvel into the girl's bathroom. I cleaned up the cut Marvel above his eye while he apologized to me over and over again. Maybe it was because I was cleaning Marvel's cut—or the fact that he just got punched—but I forgave him for everything.

We ended up skipping our next class and spending it outside together. We sat on the grass in front of the school and caught up on each other. I told Marvel about how after he was sent home I apologized to all the victors, and since then most of us have been fairly close. Marvel told me about how miserable Cato is without me and I loved hearing about that. Then he told me about Cashmere and how she dumped him. Marvel really likes Cashmere, so instead of giving up on her I offered a helping hand. Cashmere is like every other superficial girl; they want what they can't have. It's not like I'm causing any damage to our relationship; she hates me already.

"I know this is all an act, but you two look adorable together," Glimmer whispers to us.

Marvel pulls away from the kiss but his hands are still attached to my waist and my arms are still pulling him close to me. He tells Glimmer to shut up, and I can't help but roll my eyes at the two as they start to bicker. That's when I notice Cash.

As she passes us by she stares with so much hate that I almost feel insulted until I see Gloss right beside her. Our eyes lock for only a moment, but it was enough to see the disappointment in his eyes. Now all I feel is guilt.

I'm not blind. I can see how much Gloss hates seeing me with Marvel. When we're in class and Marvel is mentioned I can hear the jealously in his voice. Gloss purposely avoids me when I'm with Marvel. I don't blame him for his behavior; he has feelings for me, but sadly I don't share those feelings and I refuse to lead him on. Gloss deserves better than that, better than me.

"Clove, detach yourself from Marvel," Glimmer says, pulling Marvel off me. "We need to go do your hair!"

I groan. Why on earth did I agree to let Glimmer do my hair for the dance team's social today?

"Come on, come on, come on!" Glimmer whines.

"God, you're like a child," Marvel mutters.

"I need to grab my gym bag from the locker room. I'll meet you in the bathroom."

Before Glimmer can respond I'm out of there, running to the girls' locker room. I need to be in the gym in twenty minutes to help set up or Miss Annoying-Rude-Ass Captain will have a fucking cow. Thank god she is a senior; I only have to deal with her for a year.

The locker room is empty as it always is after school. I grab my gym bag from my locker, throw in my outfit, and then throw the bag other my shoulder.

I close my locker and—"Oh shit," I nearly shout. Cato with his stupid smirk is standing here.

"Damn, Clove. Get a grip," Cato mumbles.

We haven't spoken since he broke up with me and that's his hello to me? Doesn't that just feel great?

"Cato, what the hell? Give me a heart attack, why don't you?"

"You took a bottle from my parents' cabinet," Cato says pissed of. "What were you—"

"Relax hypocrite," I interrupt him. "You don't think I've learned a thing or two from you? Like how to fake having a full bottle?" Of course, the bottle I picked wasn't pure alcohol. It was barely alcohol! I'm just glad those idiots didn't notice. Well Cash, did but she was having enough fun faking being drunk that she didn't care.

"Why were you even at my house?"

"It isn't just your house anymore," I remind him. "Annie lives there too."

"Yeah? Since when do you get along with the victors?"

"Since Glos—" After the ball I felt horrible about everything that happened. Gloss is the one who convinced me to apologize to all the other victors. After I did, I felt relieved. Apologizing to everyone was the best thing I could have done. "I don't know."

Cato snorts. "Nice save."

I roll my eyes. "Well, I doubt you of all people wanna hear about—"

"You right. I don't," He says rudely. "Your boyfriend wanted me to let you know that he can't come to dance thing today. He has to babysit Ruby."

Thank God! I didn't want to have to dance and pretend to be happy with Marvel all night.

I'm rather impressed with Cato, though. He mentioned Marvel and he didn't get overly jealous, as I would have expected him too.

"That's too bad."

"Yeah, but I'm sure you'll have no problem finding someone else to suck faces with."

And there it is. Cato always does this. Cato is the jealous type, he always has been and that is the one thing I hate the most about him. He acts likes everything is okay and then throws in his little comments, sucking me into an argument and then it's me who 'starts' it, so it's my fault. Not this time. I will not be sucked into this again.

I inhale deeply. "Thanks for letting me know about Marvel."

"It's the least I could do for my ex-girlfriend and my best friend."

"That's great, Cato," I say calmly. "I need to get going, so . . ."

I turn to leave, but Cato pulls my arms.

"Don't touch me!" I yell, pushing him away from me. "You don't think I know what you're doing? Cato, I don't have time for this."

"He's my best friend, Clove. I would never date Glimmer just to get back at you. Can you be any more of a slut?"

"Cato, you dumped me!" I remind him. "I can date whoever I fucking want to. It's none of your damn business. "

"You're right," Cato nearly shouts. "You can open your legs for whoever you want."

"Screw you, Cato." I storm out.

"You. Look. Hot! "Glimmer tells me.

I stare in the full-length mirror. The long black pants with a strip of red at the top fits me perfectly. The top is a black long sleeve with the letters PH in red, gray, and glitter on the chest and an exposed shoulder.

"I do not," I say with an eye roll.

"Please, those tight clothes hug your body perfectly."

"Can you stop hitting on me and start doing my hair?"

Glimmer pulls a comb out of her side pocket. "I can multitask. So what do you want? Classic ponytail? The classics are always a good way to go. Or we could give you a side ponytail, that's cute. Maybe a French braid like Katniss, but that's more of her thing. Oh, a fishtail braid—no headband braid. That will look prefect on you or maybe—"

"Glimmer!" I shout. "Shut up. I don't care, just do whatever."

"Well, what got you all wound up?" Glimmer starts to comb my hair from the came. "Tell me about it. What happened?"

"I ran into Cato in the locker room—"

"Did you guys hook up? Clove, I know this thing with Marvel isn't real, but you can't—"

"Nothing happened," I interrupt Glimmer. "All we did was argue."

"I can hear the disappointment in your voice. Were you hoping something else would happen between you two?"

"No…" Ugh, even I can hear the lie in my voice. "Maybe. It doesn't even matter anymore. He doesn't want me anymore."

"You are truly blind if you believe that."

"You said it yourself, Glimmer. He has dated a dozen girls, obviously we are done."

In one motion, Glimmer manages to spin me towards her. "Who the hell is this girl?" She starts right into my eyes. "The Clove I know wouldn't sound this defeated, she's not one to give up. Clove is a fighter." She turns be back to the mirror and whispers in my ear, "She'd make him see what he's missing."

"Clove," Finnick shouts for me at the other end of the gym.

I slowly make my way over to him. He's near the entrance where people are filing in for the dance team's event. Peeta is at the door collecting money, and Katniss is right beside him.

"What do you want, Odair?"

"You and I are going to be dance partners in the performance; your partner isn't making it. We are supposes to start soon," Finnick tells me.

"Why you?" I sound harsh, but frankly, I'm not a big fan of Finnick right now. Cato and I wouldn't have—Cato. Suddenly Glimmer's words are echoing in my head. Make him see what he's missing. "Actually, that's great!"

"Really?" Finnick smiles. "I would have thought you'd be pissed."

I shrug. "We better get into position, partner."

Our captain, Amber makes a little introduction while the portion of the dance team that is performing gets ready behind her. There are three sets of rows and four columns; I stand in the second row, second column with Finnick right next to me. As our captain joins the group I spot Cato in the crowd staring right at Finnick and me. Perfect.

The music starts and everyone begins dancing alone in the routine. It isn't until the song changes that Finnick and I start. As soon as the beat changes I spin around into Finnick's body. He takes my hands and leads me and we are extremely close to one another; everyone is. The beat changes once more, and I position myself in front of Finnick, facing the crowed. The girls continue the routine and then a few seconds later the boys repeat the steps. As I do the dance I spot Cato again in the crowd and he's looking all kinds of jealous. I can't help but smile. Then the song starts to fade and every girl jumps up into their partner's arms for the end. Everyone starts to clap.

"You were great," Finnick whispers into my ear as he holds me up.

"Thanks," I whisper back. "So were you."

Music begins to play again, but now it's time for the fundraising to start. The second I detach from Finnick a crowd of girls push pass me, money in hand so they can pay for a dance with Finnick. I nearly fall to the floor.

I'm about to head to the edge of they gym to leave when I'm dragged into a dance with a cute senior boy. Song after song after song, cute guys come find me to dance. After an hour of nonstop dancing I finally have to take a break. I sit at one of the many tables set up around the gym, and within a few minutes Glimmer finds me resting.

"Well hasn't someone been a busy girl?" Glimmer asks, taking a seat.

"I can't feel my feet," I mutter.

Glimmer laughs. "You know I've been watching Cato. He's danced with a dozen girls already."

"Yeah, I noticed," I say bitterly.

"No need to get snippy. He's been dancing with them but hasn't taken his eyes off of you the entire time."

"What are you even doing here?" I ask, changing the topic. "I thought Cashmere banned all cheerleaders from coming."

"Please. Like anyone was going to listen when guys like Finnick are on display."

"We are not 'on display'."

Glimmer rolls her eyes. "Sure you aren't. Tell me, how much money have you made from dancing around looking all hot."

I snort. "I already counted, forty-five dollars."

"In only an hour? Damn, that's fifteen dances," Glimmer says, shocked.

"How about we make it sixteen?" I hear Gloss say.

I turn around to find Gloss standing right behind me with a bright smile on his face. I bite my lip before standing and taking a hold of Gloss' hand.

"Sure thing," I say with a smile. "But it's on the house."

I lead Gloss into the center of the gym where we are surrounded by dozens of other dancers. When a new song begins we start dancing together.

"I saw your performance earlier." Gloss nearly has to shout over the loud music. "You and Finnick were great!"

"Thanks."

"I've been trying to find you since then, but I lost sight of you in the crowd. All those guys have been lining up just for you."

"You sound jealous," I tease.

Gloss shakes his head. "Just worried…for Marvel."

"For Marvel? Well, I guess it's a tough competition."

"It's no competition," Gloss says firmly. "You aren't a prize to be won."

There it is again. Those butterflies in my stomach that Gloss somehow always creates. It's unfair, really. All he has to do is say something sweet and I forget about everything else. Within those last three weeks on the summer trip, Gloss worked his way under my skin. Spending time with him everyday is what got me through it. Honestly, after everything that happened, Gloss was one of the only people who could make me smile.

The song ends and Gloss starts to pull away from me, but I don't want him to go yet.

"Gloss," I say pulling him back to me. "I—" Suddenly there's a tap on my shoulder.

"I'd like to buy a dance if that's okay, Clove." I think my stomach just dropped.

"Cato," I say pulling away from Gloss. "Sure thing. Three dollars, though."

Cato smiles. "It's worth it."

"I'll see you later, Clove." Gloss says, completely ignoring Cato. "My dance was free," he mutters as he leaves.

"The guy is practically a millionaire; he doesn't need anything free," Cato mumbles, while handing me money.

"Please, you're half as rich as he is."

"Hmm." Cato places his hands around my waist.

I place my arms around his neck. "You aren't tired? From all the dancing today?"

"Someone is jealous," Cato says with a smirk.

I smile. "Wipe that smirk off your face, Cato, 'cause unlike you, I don't have to pay someone to dance with me. I'm not chasing after anyone. The guys are chasing me."

"Yeah, I've noticed."

"Now you sound jealous."

Cato sighs. "I'm sorry about what I said in the locker room. I didn't mean it. I was just jealous." I fall into shock. Cato never apologizes about his jealousy. "You're right. We aren't together anymore."

"I get it," I admit. "I would be lying if I said I was perfectly fine with you seeing all those other girls."

"They don't mean anything to me," Cato says, while pushing a strand of my hair behind my ear. "You know that right?"

"How would I know that?" I raise my voice a bit. "Today was the first time you've talked to me in a month, and all you were doing was looking for a fight."

"I know. I'm sorry…honestly, I've just missed you a lot."

I don't how to respond. Of course I've missed Cato, but part of me also can't stand the sight of him right now. In all honestly, I'm not entirely sure how I feel about Cato right now, but more than anything, I do miss him.

So I don't say anything. I just stare into his crystal blue eyes and he stares back into mine. Before I know it I can feel his breath on my lips. I can't help but close my eyes and lean in—

"Clove!" Suddenly Amber is pulling me away. "This is not the time nor the place to be cheating on Marvel. Grab someone and get ice from the teacher's lounge or I'm going to put you on door duty."

"I hate you," I mumble.

"You don't have to like me. You just have to deal with me sweetie," she says with a smirk. "Hey, Cato. You need to leave Clove alone before I make security show you out."

I hate her, but I'll admit it: I admire her attitude.

She drags me far away from Cato before sending me off to get ice, cups, and water bottles. I search for Finnick in the crowd to help me out. When I find Finnick, of course there are a dozen girls waiting to dance with him, and there's Annie staring in the distance looking very pissed. The worst part is that Finnick doesn't seem to even notice. Finnick may be loyal, but that won't stop girls from trying to get to him. Annie is a sweet girl, but no girl is scared of her, and that's the problem. When I was with Cato no one dared to try and steal him away, because if someone did, I'd show no mercy.

I spot Peeta and Katniss dancing nearby. Katniss looks so cute with her side braid and Peeta looks…nervous. What in the world? He's looking down at his feet, he keeps blinking, he seems to be shaking, and now he just stepped on Katniss' foot. Peeta is a complete mess right now. I may not know what is going on, but he needs some saving.

I run over shouting Peeta's name. "There you are! I need help getting some supplies from the teacher's lounge," I say with a smile. "Sorry, Katniss, I just need to borrow him for a second."

Katniss nods sweetly as I drag Peeta out of the gym.

"Thanks, Clove," Peeta says as he follows me down the hall.

"Don't mention it," I say. "Out of curiosity, what exactly did I save you from?"

"Ummm … I was trying to work up the courage to tell Katniss that I want to meet her mom."

"Big step, loverboy."

"I thought you said you wouldn't call me that anymore," Peeta whines.

I shrug. "Old habits die hard, I guess." We enter the teacher's lounge where there are dozens of crates of water bottles. "But anyway, that's great, Peeta. Why did you need my saving? Isn't meeting her mom a good thing?"

"What if she doesn't like me?"

"You are Peeta Mellark! It's hard not to like you."

He smiles. "Thanks." With that he grabs two cases of water bottles. "I'll come back for more."

"I'll be in here trying to find cups."

I look through the bottom cabinets for cups, but all I can find down there is plates, and I wouldn't be surprised if I find a rat too. Ugh, you'd think that the teachers would try to keep this place clean. I'll try the top cabinets. Not in the first two. Not there. No, no—bingo! The cups would be in the last cabinet and all the way on the top shelf. How am I suppose to reach that? I stand on my tiptoes and stretch my arms as much as I can. Almost got it. So close—

"Need help?"

I jump back in surprise and trip right into his arms. Gloss. I glance up and see the smirk he's wearing, rolling my eyes as I pull away.

"Yeah. I can't reach the box of cups. Could you?"

Gloss nods. He reaches over me easily and grabs the box that I was struggling with.

"You need only one?"

"Why are you here?" I ask Gloss, completely ignoring his question. "How'd you even know I was here?"

"Peeta told me you might need some help in here."

"Of course he did," I mumble.

"Well, you're welcome." I can hear the bitterness in his voice.

I hate hearing that tone in his voice.

"Gloss, I'm sorry that I ditched you for Cato earlier—"

"It's okay, Clove." Gloss interrupts me. "I get it, okay? It's…Cato."

I didn't want to lead Gloss on, but that's exactly what I've been doing.

I frown as Gloss gives me the box of cups and grabs two cases of waters.

"I know it's none of my business, but what's up with you and Marvel?" Gloss asks me as we leave the room.

I shrug. "People make mistakes."

"Peeta told me the real reason you're with Marvel."

"Of course he did." Too bad Peeta doesn't know the whole story.

"You shouldn't need to make him jealous just to get his attention," Gloss says.

"I agree, but I never said he was the blonde I was talking about." Gloss gives me a confused look. "It's a long story don't ask."

"Well, I'm sure you know a few blondes that are getting kind of jealous," Gloss says, hinting towards himself.

"I'm not doing any of this for myself. There's no reason to be jealous."

"I know I'm probably not someone unbiased when it comes to you and Cato—"

"Probably?"

Gloss smiles. "Okay, I'm completely biased," he admits. "But that doesn't change how much he hurt you."

I sigh. "I know. It's jus—" I'm cut off by Gloss pushing me back around the corner. "Gloss! What the—"

"You know this dancing for money thing is so sexist. Like, why is this even a thing? We should just go."

Why is he being so weird?

"I can't go, I have to stay or my captain will kill me. And yeah it is sexist, just like stripping is, but most guys really love it, so…," I say, trying to move past Gloss, but he gets in my way.

"Seriously, Clove. Let's just go," Gloss states again.

"Seriously, Gloss, move."

I push past Gloss, turn the corner, and freeze. Cato has his arms wrapped around a brunette girl from the dance team, and her face is all over his. My heart feels like someone is trying to squeeze the life out of me. I should have listened to Gloss. I should have left. I take a second to calm my nerves, and then suddenly I'm hearing Glimmer's words in my head. Make him see what he's missing.

I walk right up to them and push the box of cups between them. Cato stares at me like he didn't expect me to find them.

"Go set up the drinks on the back table," I tell the brunette.

She snorts. "You aren't the boss of me. Set them up yourself."

Oh, she's trying to be tough? How cute.

I smile. "You and I both know who's going to be captain next year, and unless you want me to make your senior year a living hell I suggest you set up the drinks." With that she takes the box and goes into the gym.

"Clove," Cato says. "I can explain—"

"Save your breath, Cato, dear. If you want your lips on a girl who hasn't kept her legs closed since the eighth grade, it's not my problem." I hear Gloss snicker behind me. "If you need me I'll be inside the gym dancing with a bunch of good looking guys, so do me a favor, don't need me." With that I stroll into the gym with my head held high.

In a second I spot Glimmer near the drinks, sipping some water and I rush over to her, taking her hand.

"Help me," I tell her, pulling her close to me.

"With what?" she asks.

"To show Cato what he's missing."

Glimmer smirks.

I take Glimmer to the center of the gym. She wraps her arms around my neck as I place my hands on her hips and pull her close to me. Glimmer's hips get closer and closer to mine as the beat of the song gets faster and guys around us start hooting and whistling. Glimmer takes my hand off her hip and spins me around, dancing behind me with her hands attached to my hips and my ass extremely close to her crotch. I lean my back into her and place my hand on her neck. We continue until the song ends, and when I detach from Glimmer I spot Cato with his mouth wide open and his eyes glued on me. I send a smirk his way.

Before I can move another inch a swarm of guys are surrounding me. They all start shouting numbers at me and are holding up bills in the air. My goal was just to get back at Cato; I wasn't expecting so much attention. It starts to get really loud and I can't even hear myself think anymore.

"Fifty," Gloss shouts over everyone.

Wow.

Gloss makes him way towards me with the fifty in his hand.

"I don't think I have change for a fifty—

"Well, I guess you owe me sixteen dances then," Gloss says taking my hand.

I can't help but smile. "I guess so."

The Gloss/Clove/Cato love triangle HAS ONLY JUST BEGUN! If you read Freshman year I'm sure you can agree it's about time Gloss has sometime with Clove.
