Hey everyone! Sorry this chapter took awhile. I've been doing my summer homework since school starts soon. Also the chapters will probably be slower now cause I'm going to start college apps soon :/ I'm gonna try getting a chapter up at least every week for one of my stories.

EverlarkForDaWin: This chapter has a bit of ever lark fluff so i hope you like it xD But I'm planning a lot of everlarkness next chapter :D

Last Time on "What I Wouldn't Do": After living with the Mellark family since Freshman Year, Delly moved back home to her parents and siblings. Johanna noticed Peeta acting odd so she told Katniss to talk to him. Peeta told Katniss he was upset because Delly left. Johanna and Cashmere aren't speaking to each other since Gale cheated on Johanna with Cashmere. Instead Johanna has become very close to Glimmer and Clove.

Chapter 5 "Out of Place (Part 2)"

Peeta's POV

Watching Cash try and convince Katniss to take Gloss' spot on stage was very entertaining. Katniss isn't one to run towards the spotlight. She's a very humble person and sometimes, I'm not sure why. There isn't a need for her to be shy but that's what makes her Katniss. She has no idea the effect she can have.

Cash walks back over to my stand and Johanna leaves with a quick goodbye to me.

"I did the impossible," Cash says while taking Johanna's seat. "I got Katniss on that stage."

"She wasn't that difficult, was she?" I ask, staring in Katniss' direction.

Katniss is calmly talking to the band as she grips the microphone in her right hand.

"She was just nervous," Cash says. "Katniss doesn't like the spotlight."

Then the band starts playing music and Katniss hums the beat. Then she begins to sing, but she makes the song her own…

Oh, won't you stay with me?

'Cause you're all I need

This is love, it's clear to see

So darling, stay with me

I smile at every word because I know she is singing it for me.

"You two are adorable," Cash says pulling my attention back to her. "It's strange cause you two couldn't be more different."

"Opposites attract."

"And look how well that worked out for you and Glimmer." I give her a bitch face. "It's true! You're all smiles, sunshine, and school spirit and Katniss is just…Katniss." There's nothing wrong with that. "She should try and be more like you. Like be involved in school."

"School spirit isn't really her thing," I say. "This is Katniss we are talking about."

"Well, maybe we can make it her thing."

Then Gale stops in front of the stand with his wallet in his hand.

"Sup, Peeta." He says completely ignoring Cash, which is understandable.

"Hey," I say with a smile.

"Hi to you too, Gale." Cash says with attitude in her voice. Gale just rolls his eyes.

"You got any blueberry muffins?" He asks me.

"I got all the muffins, so you might as well call me the muffin man," I say trying to lighten the mood. Judging by the bitter faces they have on, it didn't work. "How many?"

"Two."

"That'll be five dollars. Cash, can you give him the muffins?"

Cash bags the muffins silently while I take Gale's money.

"Gale," Cash says. "I need a favor."

"Like I'd do anything for you," Gale mumbles rudely.

"It takes two to cheat." Damn! She told him. "And at least she forgave you. She still won't talk to me."

Gale sighs. "Okay, what is it?"

"You think you can get Katniss to join the archery team?" Cash asks while handing him his bag.

"We don't have an archery team," I say confused.

Cash smiles at me. "Not yet."

I'm counting the profits for today so far when I hear someone shouting my name.

"Thank god! She left," Johanna shouts running behind the stand.

I smile. "Hey, Jo."

"Oh," Johanna says looking as the money in hands. "Someone's been working hard. That's a lot of singles there, Peeta. What have you been doing?"

I laugh a bit. "Get your mind out of the gutter. I've been selling baked goods all day."

"All I heard was 'selling goods all day'."

I can't help but laugh. "You're cheeky today."

"Well today is a good day, Peeta. I'm in a good mood." Johanna then takes a bite of the muffin in her hand, the blueberry muffin.

"You were with Gale, huh?"

Johanna stops mid-bite. "It's not what you think."

"Better not be."

Gale and Madge have been a couple since the night of the ball. Johanna didn't tell me everything that happened between her and Gale at the ball, but she did tell me she was the one to convince Gale to be with Madge. Johanna should not be getting in the way of their relationship. After all, she knows what it feels like to be cheated on.

"Madge couldn't come today. I was just keeping him company," Johanna tells me. "Nothing happened. We were just hanging out like friends do."

"After everything that happened, how can you be his friend?" Johanna shrugs at my question. "Why not be Cash's friend then?"

Johanna sighs. "That's different."

"How?" Like Cash said, it takes two to cheat.

"Because it just is!" She snaps. "I don't want to talk about Cashmere, okay?"

"Fine," I mumble and go back to counting money.

"So who you betting on?"

I raise an eyebrow. "What?"

Johanna rolls her eyes. "Who are you putting money on?"

I couldn't be more confused. "I have no idea what you are talking about."

"She's talking about this week's love triangle," Glimmer says suddenly standing in front of the stand.

"Glimmer," Johanna says with a smile. "Got tired of the kissing booth?"

"Hell yeah," She shouts. "I can't even tell you how many losers I've had to kiss. It's embarrassing. I got Annie at the booth."

"Annie at a kissing booth? That's got to be hilarious."

"Can we get back to this whole bet thing?" I ask still so confused. "What love triangle? We've never had love triangles."

They both laugh.

"Seriously, Peeta?" Johanna takes another bite of her muffin.

"We've had plenty," Glimmer says. "There was Johanna, Gale, and Madge."

"Don't remind me," Johanna says. "Finnick, Annie, and Gloss."

"Finnick, Clove, and Cato."

"Finnick, Annie, and Clove."

"Cashmere, Marvel and Clove which is still going on," Glimmer says. "Kind of."

"You, Glimmer, and me."

"You, Johanna, and Gale."

"You, Katniss, and Gale."

"And now we have the famous Cato, Clove, and Gloss love triangle," Glimmer says.

"Okay first of all," I say. "I was never in a love triangle—" They both snort. "Second of all, why are we betting on this? This is so stupid. Obviously, Clove is going to be with Gloss."

"What do you mean obviously?" Johanna sounds somewhat offended. "No. Clove is going get back with Cato. Those two are basically the same person and Gloss couldn't be more different than Clove."

"That's exactly the point," Glimmer says. "Opposites attract."

"Not all opposites," Johanna says. "You two were a train wreck."

"What about Peeta and Katniss? They're prefect together," Glimmer says and I'm surprised to hear her say that.

"Thanks, Glimmer."

"Well, I got ten on Cato and Clove," Johanna says.

"I got twenty on Gloss," Glimmer says.

"I want ten on Gloss and Clove."

Glimmer high-fives me and Johanna rolls her eyes.

"Alright future losers," Johanna says while getting up. "I'm going to go to the bathroom. Glimmer, save my seat."

"You got it." Glimmer pushes Jo out of the way to sit. Johanna laughs and playfully hits her shoulder.

It's strange seeing Johanna and Glimmer so close now. A few months ago, they were ready to kill each other and now they're the best of friends. After the ball, Johanna isolated herself from everyone including myself. Glimmer was the only person Johanna would talk to. Why? I'm not sure. All I know is that within three weeks, it was like everything that happened in the past two years didn't matter anymore. They didn't hate each other anymore.

"You two are pretty close," I say with a smile.

"Yup," Glimmer says. "After two years of hating each other, this is a nice change."

"To think all this time you guys could have been friends."

"Good thing we weren't, though," Glimmer says. "Me and Clove are a package deal. If Clove and Johanna were friends for those two years, they would have taken over the school by know."

"Try the world," I joke.

"If only me and her were friends when we were together."

"Maybe we would have worked out."

"It's good that we didn't though," she says. "You and Katniss are really great together."

"Thanks," I say. "I'm glad we can be friends now."

"Me too. We were always better as friends then a couple."

"Out of my seat, Glimmer." Johanna shouts running towards us.

"Well," Glimmer stand up. "I'm going to go on a few rides before I go back to the kissing booth."

I lift a plate of cookies towards Glimmer. "Take a cookie before you leave."

"Thanks." Glimmer takes a cookie.

"If I stop by, do I get a discount?" Johanna gets behind the stand.

"Girl, you get it for free," Glimmer says with a laugh. "See you guys later." With that, she runs off.

"You two would make a cute couple," I say.

"Shut up," Johanna says while laughing.

Then she harmlessly hits my arm or at least she though it was harmless. I hiss in pain and drop the platter of cookies on to the ground.

"Fuck."

I rub my arm and slowly drop to the ground to clean up the mess.

"Peeta?" Johanna sinks down to the ground with me. "I'm sorry. I didn't realize I hit you that hard." Johanna places her hands lightly around my arm.

"You didn't," I say, trying to pull away from her but the pain is still there.

"Obliviously I did if you're hurting. Let me see." With that Johanna, rolls up my sleeve and sees it. She sees the dark bruise I've been trying to hit for the past few days.

We sit on the ground in silence for what seems like forever. Johanna has her eyes shut as if it hurts her too much to even look at the bruise. She opens her eyes and sighs heavily. Maybe she was hoping there wasn't a bruise and she was just seeing things. It's been months since she's seen me with a bruise. Maybe she was hoping the hitting stopped.

"When?" Johanna whispers.

"The day after Delly left."

"So that's why you were upset. I should have known."

I narrow my eyes at her. "Did you tell Katniss to talk to me?"

I'll admit, I was surprised Katniss noticed I was upset. I've been faking smiles and laughs for a while that I've become an expert on it. It makes sense that Katniss wasn't the one to notice, it was Johanna.

Johanna nods. "But you didn't tell her about this, did you?"

Although Katniss knows about my relationship with my mother, I didn't want to tell her about this. I wasn't ready to tell Katniss about my mother, but I had to. Katniss shouldn't have to know about this. This isn't a big deal and she shouldn't have to worry about me. I'll be fine.

"I talked about Delly."

Nothing I told Katniss was a lie. I always felt alone at home and Delly did change that for me. I do miss her. What I left out was that with Delly living with us, the hitting didn't happen has often as it used to. Now that Delly is gone, it's going to get worse. It already has.

"You can't tell Katniss," I say rolling down my sleeve. "I mean it, Johanna."

"What? Are you just never going to tell her?"

"It's not a big deal."

"Not a big deal?" Jo nearly shouts. "She isn't just hitting you. She is beating you."

"Johanna," I say. "Please. Two more years and I'll be at college."

"You don't think in two years it'll get worse? You don't think she might break some day? I've seen her draw blood, Peeta."

"It's nothing I can't handle," I mumble and half of me knows it's a lie.

Johanna looks at me, her eyes watery and then she covers the tip of her mouth as if she's trying to prevent a frown.

"Peeta," Johanna sighs. "Please just…don't be afraid to call me. It could be four am or nine pm; I don't care what I'm doing. You call me and I'll be there sneaking into your room in a heartbeat. Okay?"

I nod.

Although Delly is gone, at least I still have Johanna. She'll always be here for me.

"Oh, no. Annie is coming over here. She can't see me like this." Johanna rushes away and I quickly pull down my sleeve before Annie gets here.

Annie sits down in Johanna's seat. She doesn't say anything but she is frowning.

"Annie, are you okay?" I ask.

She smiles but I know it's fake. "Yeah."

"Annie." I lean forward and take a hold of her hand. "Are you okay?"

She sighs and shakes her head.

"Johanna isn't talking to me. Not really anyways. Its Cato's home, not mine. Even though Finnick and I are back together…it's not the same between us anymore. I just feel kind of…"

"Out of place?"

Annie nods and I squeeze her hand

"It's okay," I tell her. "I feel the same way."

Thank you to my new beta reader, Chocovian (aka S). I was going to do Cash's POV but it got to difficult to work into the story so I left it out.

Also the song Katn'ss sings is called "Stay with me" by Sam Smith (I owe NOTHING) and to fit the everlarkness I changed two of the lyrics :) The "is" and "so" from "Isn't" and "but". Thank you to ForeverEverdeen for the suggestion :D

Please Review :)
