Kurogane entered the home quietly. He noticed that the objects he had instructed his lover to leave outside had magically found their way inside. Some of these were even hard for me to move a little. What is this idiot thinking? The warrior was drenched from the rain but dismissed that thought when he realised that his house was awfully eerie and quiet. Too quiet for a pregnant man. Usually, Fai was sitting at the kitchen table or by the kotatsu. He wasn't there.
Trying to stay composed and calm, he searched each room one by one in order to find his lover. Baby's room? No. Bathroom probably? Not even. Their room at the end of the hall was the last he checked, only to find a body sprawled out on the floor.
"Fai? Fai!" the ninja screamed as he kneeled beside the unconscious body.
He shook the smaller man's shoulder and kissed him on the forehead as he pleaded for him to wake up. His attempts were futile as the blond mage simply wouldn't show any signs of coming around. Kurogane tried to determine if the body had injuries as he might have fallen. There were no bruises, but that's when he noticed the pool of blood that had formed around his lover's lower area. Lots of blood. Too much blood.
Kurogane simply didn't know what to do. He couldn't bring the wizard see a normal doctor as he was a pregnant man. A pregnant man damnit! They won't know what the hell to do to help him. I can't wait any longer! Oh wait... would this work ... He had seen the mage do this countless times over. He chanted some sort of incantation and the witch would appear in a random mirror like object. Kurogane yelled a couple of times at the glass beside him which showed his reflection. He figured that it simply wouldn't work after innumerable tries when nothing was happening.
I guess my only other option is to go back to the village. There's a mage there but I doubt he'll know what to do... The spiky haired man started to panic more and more as his lover didn't even stir. In addition his breathing was slowing down considerably. He grabbed the blue fluffy coat that was hung up by their bed and wrapped the wizard in order to prevent him getting wet and cold from the rain. He slumped the body over his back and held on to the other man's butt. He had heard it was called a piggy back in some other worlds they had previously visited.
"Don't worry Fai. You'll make it. We'll make it out together." he murmured.
**Down at the village**
The tubby man was silently sipping his cup of tea and reorganizing the cards scattered around the table. A large knock at his front door had caught him off guard and he spilled his tea all over himself and his belongings.
"Damnit!" he snapped and sighed as he knew there was no way to save the drenched cards.
The porky man with the glasses didn't even have a chance to answer the door as it burst open. The intruder was clad in black and held a fluffy heap of fur on his back that appeared to be a human being.
"Please help me! I'm ready to do anything!" he pleaded to the man as he dropped to one knee, exhausted.
That's princess Tomoyo's personal guard! Plus, he's part of her front army line! What the hell could this type of man want with me? The village's mage was trembling, afraid that he'd done something to upset their land's ruler.
"Erm, and what could I possibly do to help a man like you?" Keisuke asked, unsure about the whole situation.
"Fai, erm this man here, needs help. I need to make a call to someone."
" A call? What do you mean?"
"I need to talk to someone in another dimension, right now!" the warrior snapped, worrying that they were almost out of time.
The smaller man trembled at the sound of the gruff voice but nodded vigorously, "Sure, right over here!"
The chubby and smaller man had pointed at the couch farther in the room. Kurogane, relieved that he was finally getting somewhere placed his lover comfortably on the couch. He had taken off the coat and placed it on the smaller man's lap in order to create a sort of blanket. Keisuke had returned with a big bowl of water and place it on the table adjacent of them.
"You'll need to be quiet while I do this," the fat man had said, pushing up his glasses in a matter-of-factly fashion.
"Oh I know how this works, the ninja muttered under his breath, annoyed.
The mage had started chanting words and they danced off of his tongue. It wasn't quite the same as Fai's since his voice was lower and the syllables sounded stretched a little. Fai's better than you. And you know what? He's mine sucker! Wait-what? When did I start becoming so possessive of him? Kurogane glanced over at the ghostly figure positioned beside him. He grabbed Fai's limp hand and squeezed it affectionately.
A couple of seconds later, an image had started forming in the bowl. A familiar face had started appearing in front of them. Kurogane knew better than just starting to yell out for the witch's help. Fai would always scold him when he talked during a magic spell that wasn't complete. Keisuke whispered the last two syllables and the communication bond had been completed. The chubby man collapsed in his seat, drained from the amount of energy it has required him to cast the spell. Unable to talk, he gestured a hand towards the bowl, symbolising that the warrior could now speak as he pleased.
The slim black haired woman had beat him to it, "Ah, an unexpected visit I've received today. However, everything happens for a reason. How may I help you, Kurogane-san?"
"It's Fai! I left him for an hour and I found him passed out on the floor. Freaking idiot never listens to me damnit!"
Yuko-san's image lifted an eyebrow questionably, "He hasn't told you? That he'd pass out often?"
Kurogane was puzzled by her answer, "No?"
"Well, Fai's body isn't really made to bear children now is it? Apart from him passing out, is there anything else abnormal?" she asked, amused.
"Well, he was bleeding and he's not waking up from his passed out state."
"Ah yes, that's quite normal for the bleeding Kurog-myu. Have you had any sex recently? That's definitely the cause of it, especially during the 7th month."
Kurogane, flustered, glanced over at the pudgy wizard that was supervising their conversation. He didn't seem that faltered about what the woman had just said and so the man was relieved. I'm sure he's seen weirder.
Yuko snickered and continued, "The fact that he's not waking up at the moment is probably due to his body adapting to deliver the baby. Fai-san is nearing the end and therefore it's quite normal. He might occasionally pass out and there's nothing to worry about that. But you stated that he's refusing to wake up and he's in a comatose condition correct? "
Kurogane nodded.
"Alright then. I originally did not think that this'd happen. His body is resting and too much energy has been focused on helping him doing so. He may make it out alive this way but it's really uncertain. You'd have to wake him up first and then I can give you a little something that he'll have to take daily or he'll just fall back into the same state as he is presently. The sooner you wake him up, the better it is. If he does take it, he's going to be stabilised and his life will no longer be at risk."
"What would be the price I'd need to pay for all of this?"
"Not being able to see your child be born. You will not be allowed to assist the delivery."
Kurogane's heart skipped a beat and it felt like a thousand needles had pierced it. Not being able to help out Fai during such a crucial moment? But if I don't help him now...
The warrior gulped and nodded, "I'll do it since it's the only way."
Yuko, pleased to do business, sent a small pouch containing green crystals inside.
"You need to crush one up and make him drink it daily. They're enchantment crystals that'll help him control the amount of magical energy necessary for his body to use up. If he starts to feel dizzy, feel free to give him more than one. It should also help him prevent from continuously pass out."
"But how am I supposed to wake him up?"
"That my dear Kurogane-san, only you can figure out," she said as the connection was abruptly cut.
"That bitch!" he growled.
The ninja, desperate to see his lover wake up didn't know how to react to everything that was happening. He had never been this close to anyone and the pain was unbearable. It was more painful than any battle he'd ever fought before.
Unable to say much else, he thanked the village's mage for his help and handed him a pouch full of money.
"That's too much sir, for what I've done."
"Keep it. It's nowhere near the value of what you've done for me today. Fai can't be priced."
Bowing and thanking him a ridiculous amount of times, the porky man escorted them out of his home. Kurogane had wrapped up his lover gently once again, but this time carried him bridal style. He'd have to get back home, quick in order to figure this all out. As he walked through the dark streets and knowing that nobody could see him, he buried his face in Fai's chest. His breathing had seemed to come back to normal and this ever so slightly relieved him.
He arrived home when the sun had started to rise. Kurogane placed the blue eyed wizard tenderly on the bed and changed his clothing into his night time ones. He also noticed that the bleeding had stopped, which was definitely a good sign. He wrapped the small body with the overgrown bump in the blankets of their futon and joined him in the bed.
"Oi wizard, come back. I need you" he whispered in the ear of his lover.
Unable to understand what was happening, Kurogane noticed that his face had become wet. Am I crying? Kurogane, the almighty strong warrior, crying? The ninja was incapable of stopping and simply let it happen. The ninja placed his strong hand on the smaller man's stomach and rubbed it in circular motions. His baby inside was kicking softly and this gave him hope. He kissed the dry lips of the wizard and rested his head beside the blond mop of hair. Sleep overtook him almost instantly.
**The next morning**
It was the weight of a shoulder on his face that had woken up. Confused on what was happening, he woke up to a wizard half sleeping literally on him. His soft snores and relaxed face expression put the warrior at ease but the weight that had formed in the warrior's chest still hadn't been relieved.
Wait! He didn't move at all yesterday... and he's not in the same position as when I put him in bed...?
"Fai?" Kurogane asked softly enough.
A grumbling sound coming out of the wizard was heard and something a little more audible came out of his mouth, "-what's going on?"
Fai gasped as muscular arms pulled him into a tight embrace, "You're crushing me Kuro-papa."
The spiky haired man loosened his grip a little as he didn't want to aggravate the situation even more. He remembered that he had to prepare that tea for Fai or he'd fall back into comatose. Kurogane didn't even tell Fai what he was doing and simply left the room hurriedly with the bag he'd received from Yuk. The wizard, confused, attempted to get out of bed but only found out that his head was pounding if he tried to prompt himself up.
The bigger man returned with a hot piping mug in hand and handed it to Fai, who reached out to grab it. The blue eyed mage blew on it so it cooled down and started sipping it. The effect was almost instant; the wizard's headache seemed to dissipate and the pain that had been written on his face was almost gone.
"Better?"
"I feel much better."
The next couple of minutes were spent in silence as Fai drank the concoction he had been given. He finished it all up, not minding the taste of it at all. It was actually pretty sweet.
"I'm glad you're awake now," Kurogane stated, taking a seat on the futon beside his lover.
"I don't understand what happened. One second my stomach hurt and the other, I was on the ground and then everything went fuzzy..."
"Yeah, you passed out damned idiot. Overworked yourself again. Plus I told you not do bring the shit we bought in the house"
"But they would've been all ruined because of the rain-"
"And? They're items. You could've been ruined or even be no more if I didn't hurry my ass up to save you."
"Oh..."
The ninja explained what had happened to him the day before. He also went in detail of the meeting with the witch in order for him to know how important it was to take the green liquid he had given him a little earlier. Fai didn't protest, not even with the fact he had to take it even more easy than before. He knew with his situation and all, that Kurogane could have ulcers at the rate he'd be worrying him presently. The air softened as both men were simply happy to be reunited once again. They conversed lightly until a question had formed in Fai's mind.
"If you made a pact with Yuko, what in the world did she want in return?"
Kurogane looked down, as the question had caught him off guard, "The birth. I can't see our child be born into the world-"
Fai simply hugged Kurogane, rubbing his back. He knew that the bigger man would never admit that such a price would hurt him so badly.
And voila! My chapters just keep getting longer and longer... oops!
Sorry for the wait guys, I know I left the last chapter with a cliff hanger but I was nice this time! The time for the birth of the child is almost here! I'm so excited! 3 of 4 chapters left until that. But the fanfic won't end there as there's too many other moments I want to write about these adorable men. They're just the best!
So the LAN party went well yesterday and I woke up late today with ideas for the chapter. That kind of stuff always happens to me lol. Anyways, my mind's full. I had also started writing a lemon yesterday since it was Valentine's Day but you know me at this point... I never finish things on time! D: But for the week I'm not going to be on, I'll try my best to write the stories in advance and then just take a few seconds to post the chapters. 'Cause I can! I can't guarantee anything though since this week of school is just going to drain me.
Tomorrow's another day off for me so if I get over 7 reviews, I'll post the next chapter tomorrow. That much, I can promise. Anyhow, toodles, I've got to go start a project that I was supposed to start researching 3 days ago...
Until then!
