Ch: 14

BPOV:

Walking through the cabin I was still vibrating in anger, fists clenched in fury, trying not to phase right then in there. Taking a deep breath when I felt calm flood my system, thanks to Jaz. Looking up at him smiling in thanks, god he is the best imprint a wolf could have. Speaking of wolves I spot the pack shifting uneasily from foot to foot, Eliza pacing back and forth at the base of the stairs and Bree circling the sky around us, their imprints looking nervously at them. I look over my shoulder to see Eric with fear in his eyes practically hiding behind me terrified of the huge wolves standing surrounding the house looking agitated none the less.

I could see why he was scared.

Smiling at jasper I let go of his hand slowing down to stand next to Eric. "it'll be alright, I promise you no one will hurt you again least of all the pack ok?" he nods minutely still not ready but trying to be. "Trust me we will love as our own, you are family now." I say offering him my hand in comfort, which he grabs with all his might. Like I'm his rock and if he lets go the wolves will get him. Taking a deep breath he smiles at me nodding his readiness.

Walking outside finally we catch everyone's attention heads whipping around to see who this new member is. Eliza is the first to move, being the closest, she sniffs me first making sure I'm alright then moving slower ears down to Eric to let him know she meant no harm. When she is done she steps back walking over to Leah now calm and less worried. "Everyone this is Eric, our newest pack member." I say to everyone then turn to Eric and explain "the wolf that was scenting you was my Beta and daughter Eliza, next to her is her imprint Leah, next to her is her brother Seth and the owl on his back is his imprint and my daughter Bree, next to her is Angela and Jessica who you remember from school, Jessica was in the same room as you if you can remember. Then there are the Whitlocks Peter and Char, his mate who is at the Cullen mansion right now, then there is my imprint and mate Jasper who you might remember from the Cullen family." I finish introducing everyone to Eric and walk over to the pack.

"We should head back now no need to leave Char and the pups alone right? Me, Eliza, Leah and Jasper will stay here for a few to search, see if we can't dig up any information on Jake and Carlisle. Then we will head over ok?" everyone nods their acceptance and I nudge Eric towards Angela and Jessica.

Once everyone was gone I turned to the remaining wolves "you guys can phase back now we need to make this quick but thorough. Let's go we'll meet you guys inside" I say turning around to go right back inside the cottage. Turning right I walk into a living room of sorts with huge bookshelves lining the walls and a fireplace in the corner there wasn't much furniture making me think no one stayed here long, just a leather arm chair facing the fireplace and a side table.

Getting started I look through the book on the nearest shelf to my right, Jasper not needing instructions started to the left. A minute later the girls walked in looking around sniffing the air experimentally, making me laugh at the sight two grown woman with their noses up in the air. "I think there is a study/ office thingy through there" I say pointing towards a cracked door where the scent of paper and ink wafted from. Nodding they made their way over to it closing the door behind them they got to work.

Focusing back on the job at hand I started pulling books off the shelf looking at them and anything behind then, I false back or something like that. Making it about half way through my side of the room I found what looked like old journals, leather-bound and warped, pulling them from the shelf I had three of them, but what was behind them is what caught my attention the words "mutare mundi" change the world, carved into a panel behind it. The same as the cross from the Volturi they gave Carlisle. Reaching out toward the panel I moved my hand so I could grab the edge of it taking some books down I looked over to Jasper catching his attention he came over to see what I found.

Taking the wood plank out from the shelf I found what looked like a wall safe with a four letter password. Looking over to Jasper to see if he had any ideas, he shrugged frowning. I thought 'what would he use? Something hard for humans to guess but easy for vampires hmm' then I got it

Entering the letters carefully I typed i V. I smirked when I heard the metal clink of it unlocking. Proud of myself. Something all vampires know but not all of them would think of and something humans had no idea of just in case of thieves. Aro, Claus & Marcus Volturi. The kings of the vampire world.

Opening the safe I found several test tubes filled with various liquids, most of them a murky, shiny, white liquid, vampire venom. The other half of the test tubes looked to be filled with blood, but these had little animal shapes on them, lions, tigers, hawks, owls, wolves, bears, monkeys. They filled the whole safe multiple vials of each animal, although I did find that a few had less than others, leading me to believe that they were already used.

I was surprised at how many animal shifters they could have made. I mean if they had this many what stopped them from having more right?

Looking over to Jasper I saw that he had a frown on his face, worry lines on his forehead. "Hey we'll figure it all out and if there are more out there we will help them, protect them, find them, and we will stop the Volturi from making more by experimenting. Even if it means war. We will survive. Ok?" I ask my hand on his cheek, thumb rubbing the line of hiss jaw. He nods reluctantly, "I just don't want you to get hurt, or anyone else to either. It bothers me that even though I lived with them for over fifty years I didn't see it, or could even guess it. And that makes me feel stupid and useless." He murmured to me resting his forehead against mine. I smile reassuringly to him "oh please no one could have guessed it accept if they could read minds and Edward was on their side for this so don't feel bad about it. There's nothing we can do about it now." I lean in pecking his lips, feeling the smile break out on his lips, making me smile as well.

Then we heard wings beating towards us quickly, silently. Bree. Eliza and Leah opened the door running into the room just as Bree flew in phasing instantly not caring about her nudity. "They're here." She gasps out. Fear making her voice quiver, letting me know exactly who was here. "Where?" I asked wanting to know how long we had. Already running outside towards the mansion. "About ten miles Ang detected them head towards us, running but not in a hurry." Bree explained as we reached the house, everyone was standing in the backyard pacing Seth and Angela phased.

Quickly walking over to the group I made a plan. "Ok everyone gather around. This is what we'll do, Seth, Leah, Jessica and Eric will go inside with the dogs ok?" I paused looking everyone in the eyes. Seth spoke up then "why us? Why not Angela too?" he asked clearly trying to see what I was doing. "Because Seth we don't want Jacob to know we were the pack in the clearing with Niki and we want to have the upper hand, hiding part of the pack will let them think the group is smaller. Jessica and Eric will go with you because he doesn't know we are looking for the experiments or his involvement. Angela will stay out with us because it throws of the numbers from the first encounter and we also found her in the mansion which doesn't technically tie him to the experiments." He nods his head seeing my point. "Now we don't want them to know we are the new pack yet and we will also be gaining three other shifters by the end of this meeting, no matter what I keep my promises.

As I finished explaining thing to them we heard six heavy footsteps racing through the forest. They were here. "Go!" I whispered to the four hiding in the house. Once they were inside I motioned everyone to take their spots. Me and Jaz at the head, Peter and Char on his side, Bree and Eliza to my side with Angela in the middle of the group protected by us, she had the least training and had yet to really meet the Lapush pack.

Then the wolves stepped out of the forest. They looked so small now that I actually turned into one. They were tiny compared to my pack Jake being the biggest at five nine-ish small even compared to Leah and Seth who had grown since joining us standing at six four. The rest of the pack evened out at five and a half though two of the wolves probably Colin and Brandy stood at five foot even, the smallest and youngest of the pack. They hid behind a grey wolf just shy of six two the largest compared to Jake who I assumed to be Paul.

Jake phased back to human with Quil and Embry on either side of him all in human form shorts being pulled on. They looked around at every one and settled their eyes on Peter and Char having never met these vampires with red eyes they felt uneasy. While they weren't looking I made eye contact with Paul letting my eyes flash silver before going back to red again letting him know that this was the new pack in the area and letting him know Leah and Seth were here. He nodded slightly letting me know he got the message before looking over to the three shifters standing near us.

They were oblivious to our little silent conversation still staring at Peter and Char. Breaking the silence I stepped forward clearing my throat "Jake, thanks for coming" I grinned at him dangerously. Making them step back in instinctual fear "Bella you've changed, look… different." He said in a veiled insult. I could tell he didn't know what to think of me but I could see the fear in his eyes. I was deadly now to even him. A weapon used to kill. I bet he could even sense the darker side of me the place Athena resided waiting for her turn to take over. I smiled wider as I realized all this, inhaling the scent of fear off of all of them except the wolves behind them. For they knew no harm would come to them.

" yes, well things change" I say trying to confuse him, ok maybe I was angry at him, but look at what he's been doing.

"Yes I suppose they did, didn't they? What with all of you moving because of the Volturi. So how did you slip through their clutches this time?" he asked digging for information "and where are the rest of the Cullens?" he added.

"Plans changed. So what have you been up to? Any new wolves phased?" I avoided the question easily.

"Is that so? Well nothing new here 'cept I'm alpha of both packs now." He said stressing the word trying to intimidate us.

"Really? I thought you had more than six wolves." I pointed out smugly, smirking at him to get him angry.

"Yes well a few have run off, but don't worry I'll put them back in their places quickly." He growled

"Oh really trouble in paradise?" I asked just to see how much he would let slip.

"There was a small pack that took 'em, don't worry nothing we can't handle just a few Chihuahuas, compared to us." He gloated.

I had to hide my laugh looking at the rest of my family standing behind me they were struggling to keep the smiles off their faces. "Well good luck with them. Oh I forgot to introduce you everyone, you already know Jasper, but this is family from Texas, Peter and Charlotte. My daughters Bree and Eliza, and my old friend Angela from high school we just bumped paths. Imagine my shock when I realized she was a vampire." I introduced everyone Angela's eyes had changed to a deep red hiding the fact that she was also a shifter.

"What a coincidence" Jake murmured trying to hide the spike of fear that pierced through the air around us.

I took a step to the right folding into Jaspers arms as I smiled a Jake again just for fun. But by moving over everyone could see Angela now all the wolves. But what I noticed was Paul and Angela lock eyes. Imprinting.

"Oh shit! I did not expect that but Congr…" I started to congratulate them but a growl pierced the air cutting me off. Everyone else snapped their heads around to see Jacob shaking, badly.

"NO! I forbid it Paul! As order of the alpha of this pack you will not imprint on this Vampire!" he shouted taking a step towards Paul in a dominant way. Wrong move.

Paul snarled in warning before stepping around him and walking over to me head bowed in question. I nodded making eye contact before he stepped in front of Angela standing as a guard. Angela running her fingers through the fur on his neck, a smile on her face. Two whines caught my attention away from the new couple.

turning towards the sound I saw Collin and Brandy crawling towards us, ears back tails tucked slowly coming towards us. Then Jake stood in front of us facing them, hands on his hips. "NO! You will not leave this pack you are my pack and you will not disobey the alpha and neither will Paul! Not get your sorry ass over here now Paul or I will kill you for deserting your pack!" he screamed towards us shaking heavily. He kicked aside the twins roughly stepping towards us hand extended reaching for Paul to drag him back. Angela whimpered for her imprint clinging to him scared wrapping her arm around his shoulders. But before Jake could grab him I stepped in front of him cutting him off.

"Tsk, tsk. Even I know you don't separate imprints Jake. And if you treat those wolves like that again I will beat some respect into you, then those two are welcome to join my family if they'd like." I say looking at both of the twins a smile on my face nodding to them.

"Really and how will weak little Isabella Swan beat me?" he sneered at me before trying to get to Paul again.

At the sound of my name I started growl thinking of how Carlisle had called me that. But not just a growl it was a deep animalistic noise. Athena was trying to get out making it hard to focus on things around me. Jasper then sent me a wave of control into me, knowing he couldn't calm me down but he could keep me in control for now.

Jake not paying attention to me any more didn't see me coming as I grabbed him by the back of the neck tossing him behind me. Slamming into the un-expecting Embry and Quil. He slid to the tree line slamming into an old oak tree.

Dazed he wobbled to his feet, before he could even take a step I was on him pining him to the oak, Eliza and Bree right behind me pinning Quil and Embry respectively.

"Now what did I just tell you?...hmm? Didn't I say something like 'don't mess with an imprint'?" I leaned in asking sweetly but with narrowed eyes.

"I don't give a fuck! I am his alpha what I say goes!" he screamed struggling to free himself. A mischievous grin turned the corners of my lips up in what I took as an evil way. "Really you're is alpha? Hmm… then why didn't he listen to your orders?" I asked sweetly.

"What are you talking about? Isn't it obvious? You brain washed him into loving a monster, she's not even a vampire anymore haven't you figured it out yet? Why do you think it was down there in the first place? She was a god Damn experiment! Not the only one either!" I just got angrier and angrier as he went on.

"Oh I know what she is. She is a tiger have you seen her in her form yet she is quite beautiful and powerful. But that's ok I'm even more deadly than her. Do you know why Jake?" I ask my voice dripping with bitterness at the end.

"No why don't you tell me almighty Isabella?" he asked sarcastically.

"Because Jake just like her I happen to have been a damn experiment too. But the nice part is, is that the kind doctor gave me something new, something you don't even have in your safe. Oh and I have an answer to your previous problem, Paul isn't following your orders anymore because of me. Now tell me Jake what did Carlisle inject me with?" I demanded

He looked thoroughly scared now, wide eyed and blubbering "I...I…I don't KN…know…w…why?" he finally stuttered out.

"Werewolf venom but not any old werewolf. No he used alpha venom. So Jake care to tell us of the other pack in the area?" I growled at him my control slipping again, eyes turning silver.

He gasped staring at me for only a second before he connected the dots "you!"

"Yes me" I grinned wickedly head cocked to the side, instincts running high. "What are you going to do about it?" was all I said before my control finally slipped.

hey guys! sorry for the wait this time. but I really don't have a good reason probably writers block and trying to figure out how to lead to the big fight a lot of you want to happen. I'm working on it now but it might take longer I want this next chapter to be really good and well just perfect so if it takes longer than usual I'm sorry in advance. anyway hope you liked it!
