CH. 19: Shopping

Previously:

When everyone is settled down I walk over to Jasper throwing my arms around his neck bringing him into a kiss, sighing as I lean into him enjoying his touch as his arms wrap around my waist. "We have a long way to go." I say to him. He smiles resting his chin on my head, "we'll get there darlin' and everyone will be just fine." He said calming my nerves as his fingers go up and down my back.

A long way indeed.

And now:

BPOV:

I looked around to see Peter and Char gesturing for me and Jasper to come over. I groaned not wanting to move from my spot sitting in jasper's lap relaxing.

It had been a few hours since the shifters fell asleep the others were relaxing around the area some were on guard outside taking turns. I stood up with jasper and followed them outside. I called those patrolling in saying we could handle it while they relaxed. I turned to Peter.

"What is it?" I ask some of my anger leaking out. "we need to move up on our times tables a little bit, I was thinking of taking some of the pack to get transport and some other supplies, Eric needs to get going on his end if we want it to work out, I know where we are going to end up, about 200 miles northeast of our current position, it's near a small town that is relatively isolated but that way we can still get supplies for the shifters easily. We can still leave at sunrise but I think we should get the gear so we are ready to move as soon as everyone is up." He explains calmly.

I take a deep breath calming myself, "ok take Eliza, Eric, and Jasper with you I'll keep everyone else in line until you return, but make it snappy, we only have five hours till sunup, if what you say is true I want to be on the road by 5, just to get a head start that would mean we could get to the town by 8 is that right?" I ask making plans. "Yeah that's about right see you in four hours." Peter grins. Eliza and Eric step out of the cabin smiling. "Let's do this!" Eliza whispers excitedly. I smile, "don't forget transport has to be off road but keep in mind that we also have wolves to take with us and supplies to get, probably jeeps and trucks will do we can get something more standard when we are finished with the house go it?" I ask.

They all nod before Jasper kisses me good bye, "good luck" I whisper he smiles and nods "see you in a bit darlin'." Before they take off into the woods.

I turn back into the cabin as Bree and Angela get up for the next patrol silently. It was going to be a long night.

JPOV:

We reach a town in a few minutes of running, I didn't catch a name but Peter says he knows where to go, we head to a car dealership first getting three off road trucks and two Jeeps. It cost us a lot but we could easily make up for it if Peter is right about Eric's gift, which he probably is. He is never wrong about this sort of thing. Next we hit a Walmart only because it is open 24 hours but sill it has what we need. Eric goes on a search looking for what he needs to get started, from what I understand of it he got the best laptop he could along with a wireless modem so he could get started, he also got some upgrades for the computer.

He was totally geeking out about, I could tell he was excited making me almost jump up and down with his excitement, I had to calm him down so I could think straight.

Char and Eliza went to get some clothes for everyone since we didn't have much, besides what Bella could grab before we left forks. I headed over to the food section grabbing breakfast and snacks for the five members who ate.

We all met up at the cash register an hour later. "So then what's the plan Eric? How are we going to do this?" I asked as we exited the store. He paused looking between all of us.

"it's not set in stone but I plan to buy land up by the town of Clearwater, then I need to set up a business front, I was thinking of calling it Alpha enterprises, where I can start making money, only thing is we will have to go to the high school there so we don't attract unwanted attention. I was thinking of buying something like 10 square miles, maybe 15. But I have to get the business up and running first, I was planning on doing that tonight then buy the land on the road." He said looking at all of us again, "at least that's what I got so far." He said scratching his neck nervously.

I grinned and patted him on the back as I walked past, "sounds good to me, let's get going, we need to get on the road Bella wanted to leave in two hours and I'm sure the wolves will want to be fed before we go." I hop into my truck and start the engine. I go to close the door when Eliza stops it. "Jasper, you do realize that we will need to get a lot more things right?" she looks at me questionably. "I know we still need supplies but I think we can get all of it when we actually find a place to stay, don't worry I am planning as we speak, and I'm sure your mother is too." I say smiling when I see the tension leave her shoulders as she nods and heads over to another truck.

We set out on the road all filing into a line looking like we meant business, which I guess we did, time to get started.

Time skip

Back at the cabin.

We got to the cabin a short time later. Bella met us outside, hearing our approach. "Did you get everything?" she asked after kissing me in welcome.

"Everything went smoothly, but I doubt we got everything but we should be good for now, Darlin'." I grinned.

She smiled "I can live with that. Eric why don't you go inside and get started, then when the others wake up we can serve breakfast on the road. I need to start packing up somethings, and we need to search the cabin for any clues or otherwise." She said walking into the cabin.

Most everyone was lounging around relaxing with their mates, I noticed Molly and Jessica were missing, probably out patrolling. I follow my mate through the house until she stopped at a door. "I found a library just after you left, apparently this thing has been going on for a while, far longer than I thought." She explains before opening the door.

I look around to see maps everywhere covering the walls and the tables. The biggest one is on the wall behind the desk, a world map with push pins all over the place, North America had the most, but there were also some stretching through South America, through the amazons, then all over Europe, mostly in the United Kingdom, with a few in Italy, there were also one or two in Africa. Everywhere. All over the world.

I turn to see Bella watching me with a blank expression. "What do these mean?" I ask confused. She just walks over to the desk picking up a stack of papers and shoves them into my hands, I look through them to see they were reports and studies. Scanning through them I saw experiment after experiment. I was shocked, there had to be at least twenty more people they experimented on. Shock. I looked over to Bella again seeing the same blank look on her face but there was a fire in her eyes. "Have you told anyone else?" I asked. She shook her head walking over to another stack of papers, leafing through them as she talked. "No, how could I? I pin pointed all of the test facilities that were named in these documents. Jaz how are we going to do this? They are all over the world and it isn't like we can go around saving all of them without drawing attention to ourselves. I mean there is even one in Italy! I swear to god I will kill all of those responsible, I don't care who they are! How are we going to do this Jaz? They could just start it all over again bring new tests in. it's a never ending cycle."

She was pacing back and forth in front of me, her anger and hate rising to dangerous levels. I could feel Ares trying to get out. I sent here some calm and reassurance before walking over to her and bringing her into a hug. She held tightly to me her hands bunched in my shirt. "First we have to grab everything and take it with us. We need to tell everyone what was found and start planning. But first we need to wake everyone up and tell them. Then we will get on the road." I say calmly, kissing the top of her head.

She took a deep breath then stepped back a new determination coloring her face. "Alright let's go break the news." She said walking out of the library and into the living room.

Time for another meeting.
