KarateGirl77: Thanks!
kittykat2506: The Kick kiss was the icing on the cake, wasn't it?
ShyReader842: I'll try, but it might be too hard.
ImGonnaCallYouFern: I saw a fanfic like that, and it was okay, but I wanted to make it less... cliche, I guess. Or maybe I made it more cliche...
Kim
I woke up with a wide smile on my face. The sunshine seemed brighter, the sky bluer, and the clouds whiter. I quickly took a shower, changed into my Swarthmore Academy Uniform and brushed my teeth. I walked downstairs.
Jemma was already up, and making breakfast. "Morning," she greeted.
"Morning!" I answered, maybe a bit too enthusiastically.
"You're in a chipper mood," Jemma commented. "Did something... happen when I left you... alone... with Jack?" Her voice went high pitched.
"What?! N-No!" I denied, flushing.
Jemma laughed. "Nice try, sister," she said as she dropped a waffle on a plate. "Belgian waffle?"
"Don't mind if I do," I said as I grabbed it and sat down at the counter. "So why are you up early? You're never up early."
"Figured I would stay out of Macy and Melody's way for a few days," Jemma said. "Keep their anger level down for now." Jemma said, pulling out another waffle and drizzling it in syrup. "Syrup?"
"Sure," I said, grabbing it.
We ate quickly, grabbed our backpacks, and left.
I spotted Brody's back as we walked into school. "Brody!" I called.
Brody turned, and a huge grin appeared on his face. "Kim!" He answered, walking to me and wrapping me in a hug. "How are you? Did something happen with Jack?" He whispered the last sentence in my ear.
"Great! ... and yes," I replied.
"Let's go to the cafeteria and get some celebratory snacks!" Brody declared loudly. "Kim's dad likes me!" I laughed, playing along as he pulled me to the cafeteria, where breakfast snacks were being served.
"Ooh, cinnamon buns!" I squealed as I picked one. "What are you getting?"
"This," He said, holding a toasted bagel. I plucked it out of his hand. "Hey!"
"I'm paying for this," I said as I walked to the cashier. "Hello, Mr. Garner."
"Hello, Kim," Mr. Garner said. "A cinnamon bun and a bagel?"
"Yup," I nodded, "I'm finally paying my boyfriend back."
"$6.50," Mr. Garner said as I put in my student PIN code.
"So..." Brody said, "did you guys..." He gestured.
"Did we what?" I asked.
"Oh come on," he groaned. "I can't possibly sound more like a girl! Don't make me finish the sentence!"
"Depends," I said, "all the way, no. Innocent little incident, sure."
Brody grinned. "Good for you."
"And what about you?" I nudged Brody. "Any girl in your life?"
"Uh-uh," Brody shook his head, his mouth full of bagel, but I detected a slight blush.
"You're lying," I stated.
"No, I'm not."
"Yes, you are."
"No, I'm not!"
"YES!"
"NO!"
"YES!"
"NO!"
"YES!
"NO!"
"NO!"
"YES! Wait, darn!" Brody snarled playfully. I burst out laughing.
"Classic," I grinned, taking a bit of my cinnamon bun.
"Well, you don't get to see this mystery girl until later." Brody said, whispering "mystery girl."
"Darn," I sighed, leaning back. Just then, the bell rang. "I'll see you tomorrow." I pecked him on the cheek and walked away.
The entire day, Jemma, Macy, Melody and I pretended like nothing bad had happened between us; laughing, talking, doing sisterly stuff. But at lunch, I found Jemma falling behind, before turning and heading for the library. "Hold on," Melody called, and we all froze.
"What are you doing?" I asked. "Aren't you coming?"
Jemma paused. "I... uh... have a paper to type up."
"We have a free period after that, and you can print it out there," Macy said. "Come on!"
Grabbing her wrist, Melody dragged Jemma with us to lunch.
And I've never seen Jemma so happy.
When Jemma sat down with us at lunch, she immediately began to work on her paper. But Melody and Macy wanted nothing to do with it. The two kept up a conversation with Jemma for about halfway into the period until Jemma went up to finally order her lunch, when Melody and Macy stopped talking.
"Are you guys okay with Jemma now?" I asked quietly.
Macy and Melody nodded. "Jack didn't tell, and we figured he could help," Macy said.
"Besides, it's almost Christmas," Melody added, "I don't want to spend an awkward Christmas with people I haven't talked things out with yet."
Looking slightly up, I noticed Jemma smiling widely. "Are you ever going to let her know that?"
"Later," Macy said. "When school lets out."
"Okay," I nodded. Jemma took it as her cue to walk in with her lunch on a tray.
"I love Swarthmore's food," she sighed happily as she sat down. "So, what were we talking about?"
"Nothing," Melody said. "What did you get?"
"A nice BLT," Jemma said, a big grin on her face.
"Really?" Macy sent her a look.
"A nice, fat sandwich every now and then won't hurt me," Jemma shrugged.
The rest of the lunch was spend laughing and talking.
"Hey Brody," I greeted playfully as I met up with him after school. "Are you going to tell me?"
"Nope," he said, popping the word. "But here's a hint: It's not Claire."
"Gee, that clears up everything," I said sarcastically.
"For that ridiculously tiny hint, you're not getting anything else out of me," Brody said smugly.
"Aww," I pouted. "You're so nice to me."
"I'm your boyfriend, I have to be nice to you. Otherwise, Jemma and Macy will beat my- you get the point," He smirked down at me.
I glanced at my watch. "We'd better get going. Practice is in fifteen minutes."
"Hello Mandy," I greeted as I came in.
"Hi Kim!" Mandy smiled. "Long time no see!"
"I know right?" I replied.
"I've been sick," Mandy said regretfully. "Brianna was on vacation, and Mari was working."
"Well, we're here together again," Mariela said, "and that's all I need."
"Go girls!" Jemma and Melody cheered.
Oooooh, who's Brody's lucky girl? That's what I'm asking you readers. Guess what time it is...
