Sorry this took so long, I just haven't been in the mood to write lately and that's really the only reason that I haven't and I also decided to take it upon myself to explain why the moon is broken. CampFire out.
Gray vs Mercury (oh golly gee, I wonder who will win)
Gray felt weird as he slowly walked in a circle, mirroring Mercury. He felt something different than he usually did, almost like he drank a hundred of those weird energy drinks that Wendy horded under her bed. He twitched slightly, but shook it off. Usually he felt tired or depressed, but this... He looked at his hand and saw it was shaking rapidly. "Lose your nerve already?"
"Can we just hurry this up." Gray blinked and when he opened his eyes Mercury's foot was about to connect with his jaw. Gray caught it and was about to toss him across the court yard until Mercury spun to get his foot free and hit him with the other. Gray flew back and groaned as he pulled himself out of the wall he had been lodged in. Before he could make a come back Mercury was already in front of him and kicked him in the side of the head. He went to kick him in the face, but Gray caught his leg and smacked him across the face with one of his batons. Mercury growled and started to speed up, letting out a barrage of kicks and spins. Gray dodged and blocked as many as he could but he kept getting faster and faster until he couldn't keep up anymore. Gray took hit after hit, blood slowly rolling down his arms and face. Mercury gave him one final kick and he flew across the court yard, landing on his back as his batons skidded across the ground. Mercury placed his foot on Gray's neck and prepared to crush it. Gray could feel his neck closing up as he pushed down, this was it. He was going to die here. As the edges of his vision turned black and he started gasping for air Gray's excess energy reached it's peek. "I... am not... going to DIE LIKE THIS!" Gray grabbed Mercury's neck and as if by instinct shot lightning out of his palm. Mercury started foaming at the mouth and his eyes rolled into the back of his head. He was clawing at Gray's hands, but to no avail as he lost consciousness. Gray got up and limped over to his weapon. He folded it up and hung from his side as he walked away, but not before throwing up in a near by trash can. As he walked he put his hand up to his aching head, not able to notice the foot about to connect with his head.
Gray woke up in the middle of a forest, not able to think straight. His head felt like it was going to split open and he kept hearing numbers and commands in the back of his head. There were multiple voices, some telling him to return to base, others telling him fighting moves and one just listed numbers. Everything was mixed up and he couldn't remember what had happened. He stumbled around blindly, everything was spinning and was blurry. Voices and images kept flashing randomly in his head as he limped further and further into the woods. Black electricity kept randomly pouring out of him, scorching the earth around him. The only thing he could see clearly was a figure with flames rising from it's eyes. It was gesturing him to follow and stopped to wait whenever he fell. The figure was hard to make out, but it seemed familiar. He chased after it, reaching out for it, seeing that it was the only thing that might be able to help him. He eventually tripped and fell again, but the figure stopped as he did and turned to watch him barley make it back on his feet. "W-Were... are we going?" The figure merely looked over it's shoulder to make sure he was still there and kept walking. "You are weak and don't know how to use your gifts properly. You have done nothing but mope around and hurt the name of your brother. If you ever hope to accomplish anything you must learn. You must become the strongest member in your team. How can you hope to get revenge if you can't even hold your own?" The voice was loud and seemed to come from everywhere.
"What do you mean... I'm not the strongest? I killed a ton of those... Paladins."
"Yes, but you also severly hurt yourself, allowing them to hit you. All you managed to do was outlast them and if it wasn't for your semblance blocking out the pain you would have collapsed before you even took down the second robot. In fact your probably the weakest. Your friend Andrew is smart and can hit any target, Felix can fight an army and Wendy is nearly impossible to touch. But you are reckless and take every hit aimed at you. Not only that but you are soft. All you do is complain about how the world hates you, when it is ten times worse for Fire. He lost his friends, his family and the girl he loved. Not only that but he is hated and tormented. He's a murder and his guilt from his past eats away at his very essence."
"What dos this... have to do with me?"
"More than you think, you are Fire's other half. You must be able to bare the weight of the hatred that follows him and the hate that will follow you. The awakening of your powers is what allowed me to make contact with the coding the White Fan had programed into Fire, which he split with you. The program was meant to harden and explain things to Fire. I would've done so to him if he hadn't of done it himself or if he wouldn't attack me, but you seem weak enough for me to force you to listen to orders." The figure stopped walking and turned to Gray. They were in the middle of a clearing and it had started to rain. All of a sudden it felt like a huge weight was on Gray's shoulders and he fell to his knees as the figure approached him. "Your training begins now." The figure placed a hand on Gray's forehead and lightning hit them the second it's hand met his forehead. All the lightning that was stored inside Gray poured out as memories and blueprints flowed into him as his body began to change. The hairs on his tail spiked up, his teeth began to sharpen, he grew claws and his eyes glowed. "Welcome to the White Fang." The shadows fled from the figure as it became clearer who it was. The girl from earlier smiled as she watched Gray change. Finally, someone that wasn't a liability.
- Meanwhile In A Elevator -
Fire was staring at the Hell Hound as it continued to work on hotwiring the elevator. "So, why are you doing this again?"
"You need to swipe a clearance card to reach the upper levels of the complex, the only reason you made it down here was because the authority in the area swiped his or her card twice on accident."
"Ohhhh."
Gray sighed as he watched the android work. "When you said you were going to destroy it, I thought you were going to, you know, destroy it."
"Are you really bringing this up again? He's makes a good addition to the team! You saw what he did in there!"
"Yeah, but what if he gets hacked?"
"He can't, he has free will now."
"Whatever, just don't come crying to me when he shoots you." The lights in the elevator flickered on as the robot finished his work.
"I have completed maintenance on the elevator. It is now in working order. And Fire was not the only one that didn't destroy what he said he would Grim. My sensor indicate you have an important blueprint and if it weren't for my free will I would have killed you by now."
Fire's mouth slowly formed a sly grin as he turned back to Grim. "Oh really?"
Grim squirmed for a second, but finally took out a blueprint from inside his trench coat. "Fine, I took this."
Fire stared in awe at what the blueprint was for. "Do you realize what this is!? Good thing Dan read so many books when he had control or I wouldn't now how to read this or what this cannon is!"
"I just thought it looked important, it had tons of security surrounding it."
"Oh ho ho, you have no idea how important this is! Arthur wasn't planning to become rich, he was planning on taking over everything!"
"Okay, now I'm curious."
"My interest is also peeked."
"Have you two ever heard of the story, the Dragon and The Moon?"
- Story Time -
Long ago when Dust was first discovered, there was a dragon that terrorized a village. The huntsmen that guarded the village tried everything to defeat it, but all died in vain. After the villagers were left to fend themselves they fled, but one wanted revenge. A very young engineer by the name of Hugo had lost his whole entire family to the dragon and went to work on a cannon to destroy the beast. Years later Hugo got his wish as he completed his machine. After returning to his home he activated it, but unfortunately he underestimated it's power. He killed the dragon, but the beam went on, destroying not just the moon, but him as well. All documents and blueprints for the machine was destroyed and any attempt at recreating it was banned.
"Wow, it's that powerful?"
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever. But think about what we could do with this thing! We could take the whole world hostage!"
"But we're not... are we?"
"As awesome as it would be to do that, no. Instead we're going to use it to destroy every White Fang base in all of Remnant! MUAHAHAHA!"
"I believe I am experiencing the emotion called fear Grim."
"Same here." Suddenly the elevator came to a stop and the doors slid open to reveal hundreds of guards. Fire gulped and Grim readied his swords, but the Hell Hound turned his arm into a crank gun and made short work of them. "Whoa, that took you like zero seconds! How did you do that!?"
"My purpose is to fight armies, this is all in my programing. Shall we continue?"
"Y-Yeah sure." Fire pressed the button for top floor again and continued on their way to see their "old friend" yet again.
"So what are we gonna do when we find Arthur anyways?"
"We're going to kill him and everyone here, then I'm going to take his place. BAM! Instant millionaire!"
"I don't know if that'll work, people aren't that stupid."
"Yeah, but who's going to know about it, plus with a war going on who'll have time to stop me?" The elevator doors opened again with more soldiers' but Fire filled the room they were in with flames and the elevator closed at it continued slowly reaching the top floor. with the screams from the room slowly fading "Well since we're almost to the top here's the plan. I fight Arthur while you and the Hell Hound clear out the cannon fodder, then you guys team up on Arthur and then the Hell Hound will cut up into tiny pieces with his sword. Got it?" Grim and the robot nodded in agreement and the doors opened as the reached the top floor, hopefully Arthur hadn't finished his cannon. As the doors finally opened all the way Fire came face to face with the ends of a ton of guns. Fire slowly put his fingure on top of one and tipped it down. "Hey, careful with that. Those sting."
"FREEZE! Step out f the elevator or we'll make you! And don't even try using your fire powers, this armor is fire proof!"
"Well is it bullet pro-" Fire was cut off by the secretary from earlier pushing through the crowd and hitting him in the face with some sort of flat bat.
"All right all right. Everyone settle down, put your toys away boys. So, what do we have here?"
"Did you... did you just hit me with a fucking cricket bat?"
"Yes actually, I did."
"Really, cricket? You gotta know what a crumpet is to understand cricket!" The woman gave him another swift hit to the head. Fire wiped the blood from his mouth and spit out a tooth. "Yeah yeah. We get it you like to quote things. Now shut up and listen to your brother, okay sweet heart?"
"Oh, I'll show you a heart once I RIP YOURS OUT YER-" Fire was interrupted a third time as Arthur stepped out from behind his guards.
"That's enough from you Fire. It's my turn to speak."
"Oh my god! Is anyone going to let me finish a sentence around here!?" Fire was hit again as cuffs were shoved onto him and his "team".
"We just did, didn't we?"
"Ha ha ha. Very funny."
"Well anyways, don't try to use your powers. Those cuffs negate semblances and if you try to use them they'll give you a small shock... and by small I mean enough to kill an elephant."
"Damn, you really went all out with this whole evil villain thing. Unfortunately for you though Remnant can only have one villain and that's me!"
"Arrogant as ever I see." Arthur turned to Grim and frowned. "I can't believe you really followed this guy."
"I can't believe you didn't. Unlike you I'm loyal to the person that gave me a body."
"Yeah? Well look were that got you. Anyways, I'm afraid now that you stole from me and put me back three months on development of my army I'll be killing you no-wait where's Fire?"
"Oveeerrrr heeerreee~" Fire sang as he sat on Arthur's desk, wearing the helmet of a guard in front of a pile of blood and charred bodies. "Too bad my fire powers aren't a semblance huh? Also, when you make fire proof armor, make sure it doesn't melt after I hit the temperature of molten rock. Now where's that cricket lady, I got a few complaints about her." Grim was currently holding her in a head lock while she struggled to hit him. "Over here, she wasn't as tough as I thought she was going to be." Mean while the Hell Hound was reloading one of his guns as he stood on a pile of guards. "I also thought that was too simple." Just as he had finished his thought the face of the secretary popped off to reveal a timer. "Oh shi-" BOOM!
- One Hour Before Fire Got To Arthur's Room -
Gray smashed his alarm clock as he got up from his bed. He walked over to the mirror in his bathroom and flicked on a light. He examined his face closely, looking for any signs of the fangs he had in his dream (if that was a dream). After he finished turning in front of the mirror and making sure he wasn't crazy he threw on a shirt and some pants. As he had one leg in his jeans he realized he didn't have any bruises from that fight with Mercury and he didn't remember coming home either. He shrugged and assumed he was really tired when he got home and that the fight was part of the dream too. He opened his door and took in a deep breathe. For some reason he felt like today was going to be better. As he closed the door he failed to notice the tears and claw marks on his bed... or the blood stains.
