Great news I only have 2 weeks left until school is done with, I have never been so happy in my life to not have to worry about finishing school anymore. Summer is just around the corner and I have finals to prepare for. Next time you hear from me I will be free as a bird, but enough about me, have fun reading.
Jo pov
I was video chatting with Nick early one morning because, well, I had no other plans for the day. He and I just had a nice little conversation with each other. That's when Joelle sat down at the couch with me huffing and grunting loudly.
"What's up with Joelle?" He asks.
"She's just a bit sour since Spencer dumped her" I whispered.
"That's so not true I have totally gotten over him!"
I scoff. "Of course you have"
"I have!" She snaps and then runs upstairs. I roll my eyes and continue to talking.
"So I was thinking maybe we go out this Friday night?"
"I'm down any requests?"
"I was just thinking we go where the night takes us"
"Great I'll dress for a casual night out"
"As will I" He always made me laugh. "So uh listen, what's been going on between us lately?"
"What do you mean?"
"You don't return my calls as much you never text me and I feel like you're avoiding me during school"
"I've just had a lot on my mine recently"
"Wanna talk about it?"
"No it's nothing serious just one of those things"
"What's in the boxes?"
"Meaningless junk I'm getting rid of"
"Aren't these all the presents Spencer gave you?"
"Yes, Yes they are."
"I'm tossing away everything he ever gave me" she dropped the box beside me. I pulled out her jacket.
"You bought this jacket yourself"
She snatched it back."But I let Spencer hold it multiple times and it still has his germs on it!" She tossed it back in the box.
"Don't you think you're going a bit overboard with this breakup thing"
"As a matter of fact, No I don't" Dad comes inside from the shop.
"Daddy could you take these boxes to the trash I can't lift them"
"Of course sweetheart" Joelle tuns to the kitchen and that's when Juliet came by my side.
"Hi honey how are you?"
"Fine"
"Mum where are the scissors?" Joelle called from the other room.
"In the kitchen drawer" She says.
Dad comes back inside and walks over to us.
"You look exhausted" Juliet says.
"I fell exhausted" He collapsed in his recliner chair and I hand him a bottle of water.
"Water? Don't we have any beer?"
"Not for you" Juliet and I share a laugh.
*Clang, Crash*
Joelle walks back out carrying large scissors, a plastic bag, a pocket lighter, a water bottle, hairspray, air freshener and swim goggles. She walked passed us humming the song 'You are dead'. She stops in her tracks and look at us smiling.
"I'll be upstairs in my room if you need me" She flashed a big smile and raced upstairs.
Juliet and Dad look at me with concerned and disturbed questionable looks.
I huffed hard "Don't ask, please just don't ask!"
"Well we're heading out and you are in charge until we get back"
"You got it!" I give a thumbs up.
As soon as they were gone I turned my laptop back on. "Nick"
"Right here"
"Sorry I had to..." I heard the door jingle and I slammed it back down.
"Oh I forgot to mention neither of you go anywhere or have anyone over"
"I know dad!"
"We'll be back but it might be a little late so I expect you girls to be in bed by then"
"Of course we will be"
Dad gave me a pat on the head and left. I reload my computer again. "Hi"
"So is this going to be a regular thing for us?"
"I'm so sorry It's just been something that I'm trying to deal with and it's really getting to me so..."
"JO!"
I grunted hard. "What?"
"Get up here I need you and bring a jug of ice cold water please" I rolled my eyes and sighed.
"Nick" I said sorrowful.
"No no it's okay, you seem busy. Call me when you have free time"
"Okay" I click offline sighing happily.
"JO!"
"I'm coming keep your skirt on!"
"Don't forget the ice water" I rolled my eyes and went on. Joelle just loved to bring me out of my comfort zone.
"Alright Joelle what do you..." I open the door and black smoke BLASTS in my face. I jump head first in.
"Joelle *cough*Joelle?!" The smoke detectors were going off and I couldn't see a thing.
"Joelle what are you..." I felt something shove me backwards and yanked the jug from my hands.
"Stand clear!" She pushed me aside and tossed the jug of water on the smoke, more smoke filled the room and then slowly cleared out through the open window.
"What the heck did you do to our room?!"
"It was an accident." She snapped. "I was trying to burn all these photos I took of Spencer and it got a bit out of control" She fans out the smoke with a book and cleans up the ashes. I shook my head hard. Of all the sisters in all the world I had to have her.
"Honestly Joelle you could have burned the house down and killed yourself!"
"Would you relax I had it under control" She starts spraying air freshener everywhere.
"You burnt up our rug, what is Dad going to say when he sees this?"
"He won't say anything nor will he know, help me toss it out"
"Oh no! I'm not getting in trouble because of your reckless actions"
"As I recall, Dad left you in charge to make sure I don't do anything reckless to begin with. You neglected to follow the rules too so you'll be as much to blame for this as me" She says. As mad as I was with her she was kinda right.
"Now help me get rid of the rug, we have an extra one in the shed we can use"
I rolled my eyes hard and helped her toss out the old rug and put the new rug in place. "See I covered the tracks easily" She smirked.
"Now to finish off the rest of these photos"
"NO!" I snatch the bag away from her
"HEY GIVE THOSE BACK!"
"You almost burned our room once, you're not doing it again!"
She grabbed the bag and we started a tug-o-war for it. Let go!"
"I have to finish"
"You're not going to burn anything else in this house"
"I know what I'm doing!"
"At least do it outside, I don't need you burning anything else down"
"Fine!" She takes all her stuff and goes outside.
I walk back to the living room and reopen my laptop. I call Nick back and he answers. "Yes?"
"Sorry about all the distractions now where were we"
"That's great because I really need to talk to you about..."
*Phone rings*
"FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!" I march over to the phone. "WHAT?"
"Oh hi daddy!"
"No, no I didn't mean to shout at you, it just came out!"
"Yes we're doing fine...Yes Dad...I love you too...Okay" I hang up "Geeze!"
"Another distraction?" Nick laughs.
"I'm sorry Nick talking over video calls is not working out"
"Can you come over?"
"Aren't your parents home?"
"I'm all alone, unless you wanna come keep me occupied" He smirks.
"I'll be there in 15 minuets"
"Good" He hangs up and I smile with delight. It was good thing Dad wasn't around today.
I walk outside and take a little stroll through the Garden. Joelle bumped into me as I came by. "Whoa slow down"
"Sorry didn't see you there"
"What's in the bag?"
"The smoldering remains of what use to be the boy I no longer call my Boyfriend and who is now a dying memory that will be forever lost to wander in the darkness of my heart and soul"
"That's a long winded way of saying Spencer" I scoff with a chuckle.
"Don't you have something more important to do!" She takes her things and goes on her way as I go on to mine.
I take the bus to Wales where all the high and Fancy live. I walked up to one of the reserved properties and he was right there standing by the door awaiting me. "Hey slender hips!"
"Hey Six pack!" I smirked.
"So true" I jump in his arms and kiss him.
He takes me inside his house and we take a seat on his couch. "Ice tea?" He offers me.
"Thanks" He sets beside me and leans over.
For a while it was just silence as I sat there sipping on my tea and listening to the noises that were blowing through the window. Despite begin a rich upperclassman boy Nick's parents didn't permit a lot of T.v in the house and insisted Nick and his siblings be more active. He nudged my shoulder and I follow him outside into his grotto. His garden was one of the nicest I'd ever seen and so rich-looking. We hopped across the small pond on the stones to the middle of the garden. Nick had a tire swing hooked to the big tree.
"Want a ride?" He grabs my waist and puts me inside and gives a hard push.
"Not too high" I say as he pushes me back and forth in the wind. I felt like I was touching the sky and the sun was hitting my face every-time I pushed through the tree shadows.
Nick grabbed the bottom of the tire as i flew over his head and ran underneath me dangling off the tire as it went up again. "What are you doing?"
"Not letting you have all the fun, that's for sure?" He climbed the rope sitting on top the tire as I laughed and rolled my eyes at him.
"Lovely view from down here?" I tease him
"I enjoyed the view on my way up here" He teased me making me go red.
"Joelle is getting pretty upset I have to go home now."
"I'll drive you" He grabs his keys and takes me all the way back home"
"Thanks why don't you come in. The least I can do is offer you a drink for the ride"
"I like drinks" He parks and follows me inside. The place was a bit messy and things were tossed about. The kitchen was a wreck dirty bowls and food spills all over the place and the house was spotless 3 hours ago before I left. I reach in the fridge for two bottles and in the cabinet for a box of cookies.
"Did a tornado hit this place?"
"More like a hurricane, named Joelle" I sighed.
As if on cue, she came running down the steps, she looked like she had been crying and her eyes were puffy and swollen. She didn't say anything to either of us, she just grabbed a box of ice cream from the fridge and walked away. I understood her pain she was feeling but it was getting a bit out of hand.
Nick taps my shoulders "Everything okay with her"
"She's just suffering breakup syndrome, it's her first one" I whisper passing him a bottle of water.
"How long has it been going for"
"Too long if you ask me. But she's so stubborn she'll act like she's fine"
"What she needs is another beau to take her mind off it" He suggests "We should find her a nice guy"
"Won't work. Joelle is very picky with boys"
"I know a guy that would be great for her. He's fun and smart and all that good stuff"
"I don't know" I was interrupted when I heard a loud crying and nose blowing and awkward body noises from Joelle's room.
"Well you could always just put up with that for the rest of your life then"
"So your friend again?"
He smirks "Just get your sister to say yes and I'll handle it!" He says and we made a deal.
(Friday afternoon...)
I had promised Nick I would get Joelle to check out his friend. It was Friday afternoon and I had hours to get ready for my date, the only trouble was my bratty sister wasn't cooperating.
"Come on Joelle" I beg.
"No!"
"Please"
"I said no!" Joelle had spent the last few days sitting on her but doing nothing but eating and mourning. Juliet and Dad asked me to help get her out of her relapse, but Joelle was not a cooperative girl.
"For the last time I said no" She snapped shoving chips in her mouth.
"It's Friday night you've been moping around the house forever"
"And?"
"I know your still upset but you could use a night out" I step closer to her and then jump back "And a good bath!" I gagged.
"Why bother?"
"You could spend the night with me. I'm going to dinner with Nick"
She gave me a blank stare "No thanks"
"It's not like you have any other plans"
"Who says I don't" She sassed.
"Do you?"
"Yes I do" she said now lying on the couch with the chips resting on her stomach "I'm going to sit here watch television and eat my bag o' chips"
"That settles it get up!" I yank her arm and pull her on the floor.
"No!" She wines as I start to drag her upstairs "Get off your butt"
"I don't wanna" She says still dragging across the carpet. I finally get her into our room and toss her like a rag doll on the bed. She turns over mumbling.
"Okay you are going to shower, change and make yourself look nice. Till then, neither of us is leaving this room"
She turns over in a huff. "Fine by me! but don't get made when you miss your date!"
"It's not for a while and until then it's just me and you sister"
"Well I hope you're not expecting much cause I'm not going"
"Yes you are" I go to her closet and pick out a nice dress, matching shoes and a cute underwear set and toss it over her face.
"Put that stuff on!"
"No" she pushes it all aside.
"Joelle"
"Read my lips; I am not going anywhere and you can't make me. I refuse to leave this house and that's final"...
4 hours later...
"We're on our way love, call you when we get there". I end call as the taxi driver pulls me and Joelle up downtown.
"I hate you!" Joelle huffs.
I smirked happily. "You'll thank me by the end of this night"
"You and Nick are suppose to be on a date. Don't you think having me around would kill the romance"
"We planned a different kind of date" We made way into the 'Chez Belle' restaurant. It was mostly outside under hanging lights and a large fire place and a small fountain that ran alongside the far corner. I gazed through the crowd until I finally saw Nick sitting with another guy. Joelle and I made our way over there.
"Hello there " I greet him with a hug and kiss.
"Joelle you look lovely" he said admiring her in her fancy laced dress.
"May I introduce you both to Carlos an old friend of mine" Carlos was a very attractive looking boy.
"A pleasure to meet you ladies" He greets us with a hand kiss.
"You too" I smile politely.
Joelle was looking a bit unresponsive to his charm. I give her a nudge toward to to which she gives a hard glare back to me. "At least make small talk with him" I gesture.
She rolled her eyes hard "I've got nothing to loose".
"So Carlos what sorta stuff are you into?"
"I could give you a list of what I like to do"
"Great" She said in fake happiness.
"But I'd rather hear about your interests"
Joelle gave him a different look, a look of sudden attraction "Wow! no guys ever asked me that before"
"Maybe you've been with the wrong guys"
She gave a warm smile "I suppose I have" The two of them walk side by side talking closely together.
Nick wrapped his arms around my shoulders "They certainly hit it off"
"Must be a family trait" He mocks me.
That whole night was a night of romance. First with that lovely dinner, then a play in the park under the stars and finally a long carriage ride through downtown. Nick never left my side through the whole night, I had never felt so happy than when I was with him.
As the night drew to a close we said our final goodbye at the gate. "Goodbye Nick, Carlos thanks for the wonderful night"
"Anytime my love" He blew me a kiss.
"Sweet dream Joelle"
"I will, bye Carlos!" Joelle was practically signing that before they drove off in Nick's car.
It was lucky Dad and Juliet were out on a date of their own or else we could never have had so much fun. "Okay I'll admit that was a fun night" I couldn't stop smiling by how lovely it had been.
"Best night I've ever had since my breakup. Thanks for everything Jo" She gives me a hug and I return it.
"What are sisters for? One day you might return the favor to me"
"Not likely"
"But what matters is you're feeling better"
"I am I really am" She smiled. She pushed me over the couch laughing as I grip the sides and fall flat.
"So much better" She ran away fast.
I smirked at her, she was back to her happy wicked self alright "Get back here you little sneak!" I chase after her laughing.
She and I were more than sisters, we were the best of friends too.
When I return I'll have more for you all to see xxxx
