Ok, don't be mad when I say this! This is a shorter chapter! *Dodges tomato* for a reason! I'm having a little bit of writer's block with this story. I have the story all in my head, beginning to end, but the transitions between the events is killing me! I will not give up though! At least I'll try. XD Also, keep in mind that I haven't watched the MLP episodes, so I don't know if there's a train to the Smoky Mountains or how they pack and yadda yadda yadda. So I improvised. :)

Chapter 6: The Adventure Begins!

The next morning, Danny was pacing in Twilight's treehouse. Twilight and Spike were packing for the upcoming trip upstairs.

'I don't see why this is taking so LONG!' he thought as he rounded the library for the 10th time. 'All we need is food, clothes, and a few tents!'

Sighing, he lied down on the wooden floor, bored out of his mind. His head shot up at the sound of footsteps. Twilight walked into the room, a backpack floating next to her. Spike came down the after her, a pen and paper in his hands.

"… and so we are heading out to Smoky Mountains with a new friend, Danny," Twilight continued to talk to the baby dragon as he wrote. "We shall be back soon after hopefully saving Equestria from total demise."

"Demiz… Deamen…" Spike stuttered.

Rolling her eyes, Twilight tried again. "From being destroyed." Nodding, Spike continued to write. "Your fateful student, Twilight Sparkle."

Confused, Danny stood up and walked towards the pony. "Who's that for?"

Twilight looked at her guest. "For my mentor, Princess Celestia," she answered. "She should know we're gone, just in case." She walked to the door and turned around. "You coming?"

Still confused on who this princess was, but not really caring, Danny trotted next to Twilight and opened the door. Pinky was waiting out front with a backpack on her back, obviously trying to hold back a laugh. Danny raised an eyebrow at the giggling pony. 'What's so funny?'

Cautiously, he stepped out of the house and towards Pinky. As soon as he was out of the shade of the tree, the ground went dim around him and it started pouring down rain. He jumped out from under the cloud and looked up. He could hear laughing coming from Pinky Pie, but also from the dark cloud.

Instantly, Danny recognized the voice on the cloud and smirked. He checked his surroundings, and changed into Phantom. Ignoring the fact Pinky stopped laughing, he flew above the cloud and saw Rainbow Dash still having a laughing fit.

With a mischievous glint in his eyes, he flew above her. "Well it seems I've gotten wet," he said, smiling wider at the surprised look on the Pegasus's face. "No matter, I know an easy way to dry off." With this, he turned his body intangible, dropping all the water on Rainbow.

She yelped in shock as her hair was drenched in water. Phantom chuckled and landed on her cloud. Moving the hair plastered to her face out of her eyes, Rainbow sent a playful glare towards Phantom. Smiling, Phantom said, "You look hot, out in the sun like this. You need to cool down?"

At first, Rainbow Dash was confused. Then she felt the cloud they were on start to harden. Before she could react, the cloud was completely frozen and gravity took its effect. The cloud shattered on impact with the ground. Before she fell with it, Phantom grabbed her tail in his mouth. "Now were does this feel familiar?" he asked around his mouthful of hair.

"Shut up and put me down." Phantom lowered her to the ground next to the others, still laughing uncontrollably. Shaking herself, Rainbow hopped in the air and raced towards the town. "Beat you to Rarity's!" she yelled behind her.

Winding through the streets of Ponyvile, Rarity's shop finally came into focus. Laughing at her victory she landed in the street in front of the house. As she walked up to the front door, Phantom appeared in front of her. Crying out in shock, Rainbow jumped back.

"Gosh," Phantom mocked, "what took so long?"

"What? You were… How?!" Rainbow stuttered as she sat up again.

"It's called flying, Rainbow. Fast flying."

Staring at each other for a while, no one noticed the door to Rarity's fling open until Phantom was pushed to the ground. Rainbow put a hoof to her mouth as she recognized Rarity's sister, Sweetie Belle. No sooner did she hear the clopping of hoofs behind her, did Apple Bloom and Scootaloo join in on the dog pile.

Looking behind her, Rainbow saw her friends walking towards them. "Care to explain this?" Phantom said from under the heap of ponies.

Applejack giggled and replied, "Apple Bloom was tellin' me of a pony that saved her and her friends yesterday. She was tellin' me about it while we were walkin'. She wanted me to walk her to her to Sweetie Belle's house and picked up Scootaloo there on the way."

"Okay, okay," Phantom said to the small ponies on top of him. "It's really not a big deal." He turned intangible and stood up, the Cutie Mark Crusaders falling to the floor where he once was.

"Woah!" Scootaloo exclaimed. "That's so cool!"

Ignoring the three ponies, Phantom walked to the group. "So, are we ready to go?"

The Mane Six nodded and waved their goodbyes to the kids, having already explained to them what they were doing.

'Well,' Phantom thought as he, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash flew above the others. 'Here we go. On a quest to a place I have no clue about, to defeat a person no one knows. Great, just great.'

X.X.X.X.X

The dark pony narrowed its dark, purple eyes. "They've defeated the first ghost, and figured out my location!" He walked to the same glowing green cage and pressed the button again.

Three more ghosts were set free, leaving too fast for anyone to get a good look at them.

"We'll just have to make sure they don't make it here."

Dun dun DUUUUNNN! Ok, I have to admit, writing this chapter was fun, even if it is short. :) Anyway, don't expect a chapter very soon! This is getting harder and harder to write. XD

BTW! Thank you to… *Pulls out phone* InsanityPie who gave me names for mystery pony (Lol, Shadow Shade XD). Defiantly gave me ideas, but am still trying to find one. I'm trying to think of a name that's evil, but would be something they'd use in MLP. I thought like Shadow Blood or Blood Blossom, but the first is something they wouldn't use and the other is my name. XD LEAVE SUGGESIONS! Follow, favorite, and REVIEW!

PS: Now that I read over this FOUR MONTHS AFTER I WROTE IT, I realized I forgot to upload it… SORRY! LOL.

REASON: I'm not getting inspiration to write this now. Also, Writer's Block. XD Sorry! And I don't think it's going to be any romance anymore. Just not my thing. :P Sorry to the people who are reading this because of the romance! Danny and Rainbow Dash will just be good friends! XD
