I finally finished it, and I honestly feel like the ending of this chapter is weak, but they're be more to come. I'll focus more on the next one and this time I'll be posting in a month or so. Thank you for all who have been reviewing and as I've said before I'm open to criticism.

Disclaimer: I do not own Attack on Titan or any of its characters except for my own such as Sina, Erik, Aki, etc..

Chapter 8

I slammed open the dorm's door. It's hinges squeaked and protested as the sudden force caused them to be pushed back to its extreme. As I entered there was no need to close the door behind me, for my brutality towards it had already caused it to bang against the wooden wall and bounce right back into its original position. The light that had temporarily shined past the once open entrance, faded away leaving behind my standing pose. With my back slightly ached as if I was in pain, I held a hand on my chest. My heart wouldn't stop beating, and I was afraid I might just die of a heart attack. With my mouth wide open panting for breathe, I silently recalled the events of just a few moments ago. My trembling hands reached up and covered my gaping mouth. The taste of his lips was still planted onto my own, and as I began to recall the events my senses came back to me. My emotions were heighten and the sudden realization of all the events finally registered into my mind. A sudden wave of nausea came over me, a thick acid like liquid began to climb up by throat. It slowly found it's way to my mouth leaving behind a burning sensation. I gagged and gagged until I couldn't take it anymore. I ran back, swinging the door open for a second time, harming it in the process as before. I only made it a few steps beyond the door when the nausea became to much to bare. Bending over I gagged and gagged, coughed and coughed but nothing came out. My body had the need to vomit, but what could it rid itself off if it doesn't have anything in its system to discard.

"Sina! Are you alright?!" Aki ran towards me, his hands occupied with a loaf of bread and a cup of water. I waved him to come forth. He bend down next to me, handed me the cup of water and I took a sip, feeling the cool liquid slid down my throat, curing and relieving me of the pain. "Sina?" I looked into Aki's eyes, they had shadows again,

With my sore throat a raspy response came out, "I'm fine."

"No you're not!" A deep frown line formed onto his freckled face. "You're always answering me with lies. You never tell me anything, I want to know what goes on in your head!"

"Aki, I.." I couldn't speak, I couldn't even think straight, but I couldn't just selfishly push him away, if I did he might not come back. A lump formed in my throat, and I took another sip of the water.

Standing straight now I stood to stare at his eyes, never before had I noticed, but Aki was actually a few inches taller then me. The glint in his glassed reminded me that lunch time was almost over, and that the sun was now resting in the west. In a few hours the sky was going to turn orange, and then red, until finally it set and enclose the world into a nocturnal stage.

"Aki...Who were those rich looking people in the classroom earlier?"

Aki's frown deepened, he thought I was ignoring his earlier request. "Their sponsors."

"Sponsors?'

"Yeah, they help fund the military since the annual funding from the King doesn't cover many of the equipment we use." I looked at him confused. "They wanted to look at the grounds and at the new recruits before they decided to invest, most of them are just merchants and such." That explains why he's here. "Sina, what does this have to do with anything?"

"How long are they staying here?"

"Sina! You're not making sense!" I shut my mouth and grit my teeth. I needed to know more, but if I kept asking Aki, without an explanation that won't do for him.

I looked back at his face, his eyes were dark, and his forehead was wrinkled in frustration. Aki is a good friend, my only friend, and right now I could see how much pain this was bringing him.

"Aki, do you hate me?"

His angered face rapidly transformed in surprise. "Of course not! Why would you think that! I'm..I'm just frustrated at all of this mystery! I want to know, I want to help you!"

His words caused my heart to ache, and I disliked this feeling. When did I become someone so easily wounded by someone else's words. "Aki, you believe that our purpose should be to fight for humanity's right to be free, right?"

"Yes." He seemed more calm now.

"I promise that soon... very soon I'll be able to tell you everything."

"Really, you will!" His voice grew a crisper tone to it, his mood lighten, and a smile took over the frown he had been sporting just a few seconds ago.

"Only under one condition. You have to promise to not hate me."

His smile shrank a size. "Why would I hate you?"

"Do you promise or not."

There was a silence and for a second and I thought that Aki had given up on me. The very thought of it made me feel sick all over again.

"I don't need to promise because there's nothing you can do to make me hate you." His words were warm and kind, but they didn't make me feel any better.

….

The rest of the day passed by in a flash. Aki and I partnered up for hand-to-hand combat, he lost immediately claiming there was no way he could hit a girl. Afterwards he got send to the infirmary for accidentally injuring himself with the knife. The day seemed to be so slow and yet it passed by so fast. I felt nostalgic and tired, but before I could go to sleep I needed to take care of something.

Aki refused to let me leave without having any dinner, he watched me as I bit into my spoonful of mashed potatoes and later offered to walk me to the dorms. I refused his offer, saying that there was somewhere I needed to go, and although this greatly displeased him he let me go.

Walking out into the fresh air of the night I could feel the gentle breeze of winter brush up against my cheek. It didn't seem like the winter was going to be a harsh one, given the fact that we were already in the middle of November, and here I was without a jacket, enjoying the night air. As I looked up into the sky I remembered the first time I walked this dark path with Levi leading the way. Why didn't he help me? Why did he just stand there? Was he making fun of me? All of these thoughts overcame my mind as I made my way towards the commanders' cabins.

There were about five cabins in this area. It was separated from the the main buildings like the Dinning Hall, and the two story cabin we used as a classroom for Titan lessons. Each building had the lights turned on and three of them had laughter radiating from their windows. You could see the shadows of men through the curtains as they held a bottle of whiskey, and a cigar in between their lips. I quickly knew that those cabins belonged to some of the sponsors, while the others belonged to the commanders. I didn't really know which cabin would be the one in which Levi resided inside, or if by any chance he was here at all, but I needed answers.

I headed straight to the first cabin, it's outside seemed quiet and somehow lonely. The boasting laughter, and cheers from the other cabins penetrated the night air disturbing its stillness and the beauty of it, but as I stood right in front of the door, the noise started to fade. I reached up with my right hand and folded it into a fist. I knocked and a loud echo ran through the house, even though its lights were on the cabin seemed to be empty. I knocked again, but there was no answer. Sighing to myself I retracted my hand and turned around to head to the next cabin.

My steps were stopped by the sudden sound of a lock being clicked open. The door knob made a clanking sound and the the wooden door squeaked into wide open. The light from inside stretched as far as it could to illuminate the night. My back was still facing the door, and I could see my own shadow appear right before. It was long, skinny, my fingers looked like twigs and my legs seemed to have been sown together because nothing seemed to be dividing them. Right next to my shadow stood Levi's form, he's was shorter then mine given the distance between us. I knew it was him, I knew because I could already feel his cold blue eyes throw shocks of chills through my bones. The night air suddenly got a lot more chilly, and goosebumps formed on every part of my skin that wasn't being protected my my thin, long sleeve shirt.

"What are you doing here?" His voice was leveled and didn't show any sign of him actually being shocked.

I turned around, stared at him straight in the eyes and spoke,"I came to ask you some questions."

He stared, but did nothing. On his right hand he lifted up a bag I hadn't noticed before. He lunged it at me, my reflex kicked in and I caught it in mid-air. Inside were the supplies I had left behind at the classroom, all neatly placed in this bag. "You left those in the classroom."

Levi turned back towards his door, placed one hand on the doorknob and started closing it. "Wait! Why didn't you do anything!? Why did you let him go!?" My breathe was heavy, and my chest hurt.

The door stopped moving, but Levi kept his back towards me, speaking in his ever so calm voice he responded with, "Why didn't you do anything?" His words hit me hard in the face. I felt like someone had just ripped out my heart and stepped on it, all in front of me.

"You, you didn't let me!" I was now boiling with rage.

"I made it clear to not hurt him, but you could of just pushed him away, you could of said no." His words, I didn't like them. Back then I had been so paralyzed I didn't know how to react, how to even speak. I was pathetic, stupidly pathetic.

I opened my mouth to retaliate, but there was nothing I could say to refuse him. Gripping onto the bag even tighter I bowed my head, realizing I couldn't win this battle. I had one more thing to ask though. "How long are they staying here?"

Sighing, Levi turned around, his blue eyes looked tired, and I wondered how long I had been standing here, how long had I been talking to Levi.

"Sina! What are you doing here!" I cringed at the voice. Coming from the direction of the cabins occupied by the sponsors, was Erik, all in his ugly glory. Even Levi seemed the need to shut his door close right then and there, but Erik had already made eye contact with him and there was no escape. "Do you have some business with Captain Levi?"

I wanted to run, but no, I couldn't flee from him again. I'd become a coward if I did. "Yeah, I had somethings to discuss with the Captain, but I finished already sorry if we disturbed you." I turned to leave, but Erik's hand to hold of mine.

"Ah, come on. Don't leave yet. How about you come to my cabin for a bit and... chat. It's been such a long time since I've had you all to myself." His breathe reeked of alcohol.

"No thank you. Recruits aren't allowed to enter these cabins."

"Aww, but you came all the way here to visit Captain Levi, why not just stop by mine for a while too."

"I just came to ask the Captain a question, and I have training tomorrow so I'll have to decline your offer."

His grip tightened onto my hand and I could hear my heart beat so profoundly that it even reached my tongue, causing it to pulse, "Now, don't act as if were strangers. You're my finance remember, and I'm sure Captain Levi could make an exception for us, right Captain."

I looked back at Levi, desperately to keep my cool, but there was panic in my eyes, and I knew he saw it too. "No," and just like that Levi's door was shut right in front of us. The light radiating from the once opened door had now disappeared leaving behind only two dark figures shrouded in darkness.

I breathed a breath of relief and yanked my hand out off Erik's grip. "I have to go." I started walking back the same path I took coming here, but as I walked away Erik ran after me. He placed his hand on my shoulder, pulled me back and spun me around.

"Hey, where are you going?"

"Erik." He looked at me and grinned. The lights from Levi's cabin faded and I took that as an incentive. I took hold of his hand, twisted it by the wrist, and kicked his left foot to throw off his balance. The second he lost his footing I took advantage and pulled him from the wrist, placed my other hand underneath his elbow and lifted him over my shoulders, flipping him in the process. Dust went up in the air as his back crashed against the ground. "I don't belong to you, I don't even like you." . I felt good right then and there leaving behind Erik in a dumbfounded state. It was time for me to stop being afraid. I needed to fight back, and I needed to stop being so weak.
