Chapter18 Recover Part2

Kevin's Pov: I woke up at half past 11am to see Ben was snuggled into me still sleeping he has slept that way for the past 3days that's when it struck me today was the 9th day of his recovery I was so happy that it was over that I hugged my sweetheart and my eyes started to leak. Once some of my joyful tears landed on his face he woke up.

Kevin what's wrong why you crying Ben asked rubbing his eyes?

Don't worry nothing is wrong these aren't tears of sadness there tears of joy because today marks the 9th day of your recovery I replied.

I'm sorry Kev really I am Ben whimpered

Why you did nothing wrong I said calmly.

But I made you fuss over me and…. Ben trailed off.

What's wrong you're the one of us who seems upset I said holding him

I'm sorry I'm weak and worthless he said with tears running down his face.

You are not why would you think that of yourself I asked?

Because in every jam I found myself in it was always you who ended up saving me I want to be able to protect others and you but I don't feel like I can Ben replied with sadness in his voice.

Ben stop it you're plenty powerful in your own way besides I love you so of course I will always be there to protect you come on now cheer up your nerves are just tight and tense causing you to act this way maybe a nice hot shower together will make you feel better I said with a caring smile.

Maybe your right Kevin maybe it's my mind being wrapped in self-doubt probably just a slight side effect Ben replied with a flat face.

Once we got into the bathroom I ran the water till steam covered the glass then we got in and Ben felt so calm and at ease as if the water and steam have melted his fears away at last he was smiling and happy. See now that's the kind of face that looks best on you I said as I put my hands on his shoulders

You were right a nice hot shower with you really helped but enough cuddling we didn't come here just to cuddle isn't that what the bed if for and more Ben smirked with a wink.

My face turned lava red "I can't believe he just said that" I never knew my sweetheart could be so dirty minded I said smirking.

I was afraid to tell of how naughty my mind can get because I was afraid that if I told you then you wouldn't have wanted to be together Ben said

Now come on no negative mood swings you're too cute to feel nervous besides dirty mind or not you're who I love and will always love you I smiled.

Your right I should just stay open minded and think positive things well I'm all clean I'm going to go look for something decent to wear around the house unless you had other ideas.

I thought we could just spend the day out but at nothing all that extreme how's the carnival sound I asked?

Oh wow I forgot they come around here around this time of summer said Ben.

Oh and Ben there is something I wanted to ask you I said stopping him in his tracks.

Sure Kevin ask away Ben said turning around.

What do you think we should do to spend time on our 1month anniversary I asked?

I'm not too sure I was thinking of just staying home together and enjoy being together why did you want to do something Ben replied.

No I actually felt like doing the same thing I just didn't know if you had different thoughts I smiled.

Can we go get dressed now so we are rdy for a fun time out asked Ben?

Well I was thinking we could go later during the night life. Why is there something you wanted to do at night so you wanted this out of the way I asked with curiosity?

I just haven't been to the carnival in a few years crime fighting sure keeps a guy busy so I just wanted to go and have some fun but ok you win we can go later when it starts to get dark Ben sighed walking across the hall back to our room.

Ben's Pov: It was noon and I was picking out my clothes to wear and my carnival outfit but I couldn't decide on what type of hoodie to wear for when we left I looked at heavy hoodies and light weight hoodies but then decided to use my tech smarts and copy the outfit I picked then put each hoodie on a copy and looked at it that way. After ditching the ugly combinations I looked threw everything and found a light weight midnight blue colored hoodie with some stylish lilac colored tassels then I put the outfit up to my chest infront of the mirror and it was perfect. Just as I finished putting the night outfit away and put on my day clothes I turned around to see Kevin doing the same thing I did a moment ago and look for something to wear tonight. Looks like you are stuck with the same problem I just faced I chuckled.

You mean you already figured out what you're going to wear tonight Kevin stated turning his head my way.

Yep I sure did it wasn't easy for me either but I found a way to get it done. I looked at the cloths Kevin picked out for later tonight and then looked at what he had on both were made of the clothes that Albedo bought Kevin for his birthday that I thought would look sexy on Kevin and god fucking dammit I was right.

So what should we do babe we got plenty of time to kill before it starts to get dark Kevin asked?

Your right we got plenty of time to spend just the two of us we could go eat something because riding rides with an empty stomach or after just eating can lead to bad results. We can go sit down by the water and skip stones or whatever you feel like doing I smiled.

Well I am a bit hungry so sure food does sound good isn't there a burger joint that has good reviews being blabbed about around town Kev asked?

Heck yah I know where you talking about Burger Palace they have the best burgers in town because you can make it as crazy as you want and don't worry I know how to get there by heart so I'll drive I replied.

Ok don't feel stressed I have seen you behind the wheel you're really good but your better at being a boyfriend Kev said after kissing me on the cheek.

You're so sweet when you want to be come on lets go eat I smiled.

Kevin's Pov: it was half past 12 and I was out at Burger Palace with Ben watching him eat a bacon cheeseburger with pickles and mushrooms and a large soda. You sure are creative when it comes to food I said to my boyfriend.

Well you are straight forward when it deals with food and also in bed Ben answered.

What do you mean by that last bit babe I asked puzzled?

I may have been asleep but I know what you did for the last few nights Ben replied.

Well what do you want to do now we still got plenty of time before sundown I asked?

I fine with anything as long as I with you Ben smiled.

Well then put this on and put these in your ears for a little while I replied with a bandana and ear buds in my hand.

What is this some kind of sick and twisted trick that you're going to laugh hardcore at? Never mind forget I asked let's just get this stupid prank over with Ben said rolling his eyes and put the items on.

I walked him to the car and helped him in then I drove off for the one place that makes him smile besides my place that is. I ordered him his favorite flavors mixed into a large then I drove off to the batting cages after tapping him the on the shoulder he took the ear buds out everything took about 45 minutes.

So where the hell are we dammit Ben asked?

Hold still Ben was my answer as I undid his blindfold. Ok you can open your eyes now babe I said while smiling.

Batting cages are you kidding me you really brought me to the batting cages how did you know I enjoy going here Ben squeaked.

I didn't I just knew that your fast with hands and feet when it comes to sports and you enjoy thick cold drinks I smiled.

Wait a second you don't mean you had me wear that just to take to Mr. Smoothie and then to the batting cages now do you Ben asked finally putting the puzzle together?

Yep you guessed right well let get swinging I said putting my helmet on and walked into the medium speed cage.

Ha-Ha medium speed funny I will show you how to grand slam Ben laughed taking the high speed cage putting his helmet on as he walked inside.

After spending an hour and a half at the cages we were on our way back home when I noticed Ben was staring off into oblivion while sucking down his smoothie. Ben is something on your mind if so you know I'm right here I said to him.

I was just starting to realize nobody but you, me, Gwen and the eagles know that we are together not even my parents or grandma and grandpa was the answer that came out of my sweetheart's lips.

Oh wow your right I didn't know how secretive our relationship has been I said feeling shocked.

Right and I am not one to hide a secret unless absolutely necessary why do you think I kept my true feelings for you hidden from you until the sleepover Ben stated before sucking down more of the smoothie.

Is that why you ran away after we rescued you from megachord and ultrajolt babe I asked as I put my hand on his?

Yes I was so afraid of what they made of me infront of you Kevin so I just ran away but why did you tail after me Ben answered with sadness in his tone.

I wanted to make sure you were ok and to tell you my real feelings but come on remember what I said before I don't want you feeling down come on let's get your family together and tell them I said grinning.

Grandpa is probably on another plumber's assignment and grandma Verdona is bound to be on anodine Ben said looking away.

Well call Max and then call Gwen she can probably use her anodite powers to get Verdona to come I said as I changed objective and headed for the Tennyson house.

Ben's Pov: Kevin was headed for my parent's house it was an hour drive from the cages so I decided to take his advice and make a few calls.

This is the galactic plumbers how can I direct your call asked the voice of a receptionist.

This is Ben Tennyson I would like to speak with my grandfather Max please was my reply.

Oh Ben of course we will get you connected to Max at once the receptionist replied cheerfully.

Hello this is Max Tennyson of the galactic plumbers who can I ask is calling came the answer.

Gramps it's Ben I have been keeping a secret from the family and I have decided to tell everyone can you head to earth at your earliest convenience I asked?

Ben oh it's great to hear from you so let me get this right you have been holding a secret back from the family and so you want us all home on earth to hear what it is Gramps stated.

Yes gramps that's right so if you're busy that's fine I can tell the rest of the family I replied.

Busy or not family comes first besides I haven't left the base all day I will meet you there soon Grandpa Max said hanging up.

I hung up the phone and called Gwen's mobile.

Hi Ben what's up is there trouble in love town or is it alien trouble Gwen asked?

No and no Gwen but I have kept a secret away from the family besides you of course I replied.

Oh you didn't tell anyone else in the family that you like Kevin and that you both are now dating so let me guess you want grandma Verdona to come for a family meeting so that the entire family in under one roof for this Gwen said.

Yes if you don't mind that is I asked?

Of course I don't mind I haven't heard or seen hide nor hair of grandma or grandpa in a long while so it will be good to see everyone together Gwen replied.

Thanks than I guess we will see you shortly I said as I hung up.

So Benji what did they both say Kev asked?

Gramps hasn't left the base all day so he is more than happy to come and Gwen said she will get grandma to come so you better brace yourself in case dad decides to go all defensive and over protective of me I answered.

Lol now come on and just relax just be you and that's enough for them to know that we are best together Kevin said with a grin as we pulled into the driveway.

Right well were here and looks like gramps beat us so now all we got to do is wait for grandma. As if she heard me her anodite skin appeared infront of me and as soon as her eyes opened she put her human skin on.

Hi kiddo Gwendolyn told me you wanted me here for a family meeting I will see myself in Verdona said smiling.

Kevin and I then walked in after I felt calm enough to confront the family.

Oh Ben sweetie we haven't seen you sense graduation how are you we left your room the same as you left it that day said my mother hugging me tightly.

Ugh mom can you and dad go sit down in the living room where gram and gramps are there is something I need to tell everyone I said after she let go of me.

Oh so that's why Max and Verdona are here ok Ben she replied come on dear our son wants to address something to the family my mother said walking past my dad and into the family room.

As soon as everyone was in I stepped in and Kevin just stood near the door.

So kiddo what is it that you wanted to tell all of us Grandma Verdona asked sweetly?

Well I have kept a secret from the family except for Gwen that is so far she is the only family member I told but I felt bad for not telling any of you sooner so that's why I called you all here.

Ben you know that weather it a secret or not you should only tell when you feel ready to tell it my mother said with care.

And I am sure that we will all understand it once you have told us my dad added in.

Well the thing I have kept secret from you is standing in the doorway. As soon as I said that Kevin walked over next to me. Kevin and I are dating and I have been living with him sense graduation.

So you're telling me the boy you met when you were young who multi mutated into all your alien forms and got sent by you to the null void and is now not only a teammate but your boyfriend my father said.

Yes Ben and I love one another we just wanted to tell you all this before we got too wrapped into one another Kevin said calmly.

Ah I see now well then of course seeing as you both make each other happy I can allow my son to be with you said my mother.

Boys I am very happy and proud of you both for fallowing your hearts and I have no objections at all Grandma Verdona smiled.

You both have been a great help to the plumbers and in the fight to save to world so of course I approve of this relationship Grandpa Max said.

Well dad everyone but you have voiced their opinions so you're the only person left to speak your mind I said looking over to my father.

Benjamin Kirby Tennyson I am your father and I have wanted for you to be nothing but happy and live life with your normal positivity because most of the times you came home from school you would hardly socialize with your mom and myself. Now I understand that It was because you were worried to express your feelings and I now feel better knowing that you are smiling and cheerful again so of course you can date Kevin he is a very kind and polite young man who has your best interest at heart and I have just 1 request for you Benjamin said my father.

Sure dad what is it just say what it is I answered.

Visit us more often your mom and I do love you very much and we want to be able to spend time with our only child my dad stated hugging me.

Of course dad I promise that I will try to visit as often as I can was my response as I hugged my father.

So that means you both have been together for almost a month based on the story you have told us mom said with a full face smile.

Yes and Ben is it ok if I talk to your parents alone Kev asked?

Um sure I just hope it's nothing bad I answered with a hint of worry.

Oh come on like your dad said I only have your best interests are heart I wouldn't do anything to hurt you Kevvy said kissing my cheek.

Kevin's Pov: After we left Ben's sight I told his parents about my plan of what I was going to do on his birthday then his parents processed it in their minds and agreed that it sounded like a good idea to them.

Kevin we have known you long enough to trust you besides my husband was right Benjamin didn't bond much with the family after he came home from school we were worried but now we see as to why he was nervous to confront us he was afraid to tell us that he was interested in you and scared that if he told us that we would certainly tell you right away Sandra said.

Yes of course Mrs. Tennyson and I didn't know how he felt about me until I dug my nose into his diary I just hope he likes the birthday surprise I am going to put together I smiled.

What do you and our son plan on doing for your anniversary Carl asked?

Well to be honest we were thinking of just staying home and enjoy being together I answered calmly.

Right because we both felt like going out on 2celebrations only 6days apart would be a bit much Ben said peeking his head in and then vanished back into the family room.

I guess he is just checking the clock or is he checking me out? I was trying to ignore the dirty thought but it wouldn't leave my mind.

I'll be out in the back yard working on my kicks and don't worry mom I will be in before we leave Ben said grabbing his soccer ball and walking out the sliding glass side door.

You mean before dark don't you young man his mother called to him?

Mom I am your son but I am in a relationship now and so Kevin and I plan on going to the carnival tonight so I am trying to find ways to keep myself preoccupied Ben replied.

Oh ok then sweetheart his mother said before he shut the sliding door behind him and walked into the backyard.

Well at least he is in a good mood that's all anyone could ever ask of him I said smiling.

Ben's Pov: its half past 3 and I was out at the backyard of my parent's house working on my soccer kicks and just enjoyed the memories of my school sport past I did baseball in the summer and soccer in the spring both times I wore a jockstrap but I never did wear it under my normal everyday cloths maybe I should and tease Kevin a bit I am sure it is still up in my room besides that I guess I could grab some extra cloths and a few games to play that I enjoy that Kev doesn't have. With this in mind I climbed up the tree near my room and once inside I started packing up the stuff I wanted to bring with me. Then I put the bag on my bed and slid down the tree then I went back to kicking. After an hour and half of kicking the ball into the goal my leg was starting to weaken so I decided to do one last hard kick from all the way out in the drive way so I walked all the way back and aimed everything up just right then I kicked the ball as hard as I could and it zipped fast like a bullet train and landed right in the goal. Suddenly Kev came running outside.

Ben what was that thing that just flew past like a comet was it some sort of alien are you hurt Kevin asked?

1 do I look injured to you and 2 no it was my soccer ball god dammit you of all people should know how hard and fast I can kick a soccer ball you're the only one who ever showed to any of my sports practices I answered coldly.

Your right I forgot you can kick like a pro I guess it just zipped past us all so quick that I assumed you were soloing an alien just like back with what happened last month Kevin said while holding me close.

All I could feel was his loving warmth so I just layed my chin on his shoulder and he held me tighter.

How about we just forget about the late night carnival and just snuggle up together at home I said after placing a kiss on his lips.

Why I thought you wanted to go to it what you afraid of heights Kevin asked?

It's just there will be a lot of people there and I just wanted to spend the day with only you was my answer.

Oh Benji that is so cute of you and of course we can change plans and just stay home we can watch all the crazy movies we want, drink as much soda as we want and just cuddle up close in bed together Kevin said flashing a smile.

Ok just let me grab the bag from out of my room first I stated as I walked inside.

Oh how come Benji don't you got enough to wear Kevin asked?

There a few games we can play and flicks we can watch I said cheerfully as I walked up the stairs opened my bedroom door grabbed the bag and sealed the door shut.

Oh ok then let's go and have a nice night to ourselves at home Kevin stated as we walked out to the car.

Kevin's Pov: Once we got home I thought it would be best if we just put on something comfortable so we changed and then I looked into Benji's bag I saw some cool games saw a few decent movies and I see a book with our high school emblem on it. Babe what's with the book you packed I asked with my arm around him.

Oh the memory book it has some of my favorite high school memories like the senior class summer trip that was really fun Benji replied.

Oh really a high school memory book cool lets dip into our recent past before we pick out a film I said as I opened the book.

Look at this one it's from when we were on the old wooden roller-coaster that you wanted so badly to go on and I didn't enjoy that motherfucker one bit at all Ben said pointing to a photo.

Oh I beg to differ on the last part of that statement look at you clinging to me with a grin full of fear but a grin nonetheless I replied.

Oh look at this one this scared the hell out of both of us Ben laughed.

Why do you find that so funny we waited 10 seconds dangling straight down and then BAM we get whipped back hard I stated shaking at the thought of the ride.

It's funny because I never knew you could do fear when it came to a roller-coaster but at the same time it is cute how we both were scared at the start Ben replied.

Oh god look at you at prom pigging out at the chocolate fountain you looked like a hot mess in fancy clothing who knows how to get up on a speaker cube and jam it out I said pointing to a photo from prom night.

Looks like I wasn't the only stylish dancing fool out there that night Ben replied as he pointed a photo of me having the time of my life.

True but you're the only person who went out to the pavilion gardens after voting I don't want to be forceful but why did you go there after voting I asked?

Well look at me I am a the only human to split into multiple aliens and nobody knew I was into guys more specifically into you and then let's see oh right the weather that night was like my feelings done right miserable. Besides as if I would ever win the crown I knew it was going to be you so I just checked your name off and I knew that everybody was going to pick Gwen to be the queen so I just did the same to her name as I did for you and then went outside to just be alone Ben replied closing the book.

Hey I wasn't done looking around aren't all the sports athletes in the next section of the book I said opening it back up.

So what there just photos of the sports teams and say who is in what part of the photos Benji said rolling his eyes at me.

Wrong they put images of each individual player after the group shots I want to see yours babe I said with a caring grin.

Ok fine go ahead just get it over with he said nervously as if he was trying to stop me from seeing something he didn't want me to see.

I finally found his name and saw some photos in both his soccer and his baseball uniforms but then I saw a photo of him in the locker room with nothing but a jockstrap on and it is stretched out because he was wearing it over a boner it was so dam sexy I could feel myself getting hard. I look over to see that he was looking through the films we each had on the table wondering what was best to watch tonight. I then noticed one that I haven't seen before it was titled the 5th element so I took out the disk put it in the DVD player and hit play. As it was going through all the commercials I grabbed the biggest bottle of mountain dew I had and grabbed the cookie jar from the kitchen and brought them upstairs placing both on the table infront of the bed. Ben was laying on his stomach waiting for the movie to play I carefully pull the covers from under him then throw them over us as I snuggle up close to him.

Oh Kevvy it was such a good idea to just spend some alone time tonight and just enjoy being together just the two of us don't you think Ben said with a smile.

Your absolutely right babe it was a good idea to just stay home it's the best place for us to be all alone together I said as I played with his hair.

Now wait just a second weren't you on a few sports teams yourself back in school asked Ben?

Yeah wrestling and football but why do you want to know I asked back at him?

Well I only knew you played sports I didn't know which sports they were Ben replied.

We stayed up all night long till it was half past 11 then we went to sleep and Ben was sleeping with his head on his arm like he used to and I actually missed feeling the warmth he had and I missed having him nestled into my arms. I put my hand on his trying to just keep myself calm and he felt my touch so he just came right to me and slept in my arms. I have a feeling that he will be so happy on his birthday all I have to do is get him something that he will adore as much as he adores me. Was the thought that lightly danced around my head before I fell asleep with my loving intergalactic hero boyfriend in my arms.
