Chapter 27
Kevin's Pov: Its 5 o clock and I was trying my best to cheer Ben up I hate seeing him this down so I kiss his forehead then his nose then his cheek the corner of his lips and then I kissed him on his lips to end my teasing while pinning him to the bed.
"I'm sorry Kevin really I am here you are hoping to spend a day together all cozy in bed and yet I'm screaming into my legs while my eyes refuse to stop running Ben sighed as he put his index fingers up to his lids to catch the final tears and wipes his eyes."
"Don't say anything just relax and let me make you feel better I wouldn't want to try and make a move on you when you're this upset I said softly." "You just tell me what you want from me to make you feel better I whispered sweetly as I kiss him down his mouth to his chin and then down his neck and chest till I get to his nipples."
"Strip us Ben replied weakly.
"What did you say I smiled?
"I want you to strip both of us naked Ben mumbled."
My smile widened and so once I had stripped us both completely of our cloths I slide off him and lay my lower half under the covers then I run the back of my fingers back and forth over the front of his hair.
"I have been up in that tree crying so hard into my legs I think my back has gone as stiff as tree bark Ben said bending his neck back."
"I will handle that for you Benji and how about tonight I take you someplace that will really make you feel better I said as I sat him up in my lap cracked my fingers and started to massage Ben's back." He nods softly and leave his head hanging so I can get a better angle of him. While I massage Ben's back I find a few points that are really tight but with enough work I soften them back to their proper rhythm.
"You know how Seth got me that gift card to a particular chocolate store Ben asked?
"Yeah what about it did you plan on spending it the entire time I'm gone I asked with a smirk on my face?
"No that store is where I took the chocolate cooking classes I did them after school was done each day for a week or two before valentine's day came just thought you should know that Ben replied."
I smiled softly as I finished massaging my Benji's back and neck. "What do you like better taking a bath or a shower I asked sweetly?
"Baths mostly because how relaxing they feel but showers are best for when I'm all sweaty from sports or just from a busy day Ben replied softly.
"I have always taken showers I never took a bath before maybe tonight that will change I said as I stared into his eyes.
"Go for it I'm sure you will feel so relaxed that you will want to take baths more often Benji said as he rolled off of me
"I want to take it with you I said as I stared at him." Ben was so caught off guard he just sat there bug eyed. "What's wrong we have taken showers together so why would the thought of us in a bath together stun you I asked?
"That's not it I just thought that for a while you won't be able to touch me as much as you want so I just thought of what I could give you so I'm with you no matter how far we are and for however long you will be there Ben said calmly.
"You mean something of yours that I could take with me to remember you by ok I like that but wait till the day I leave because you are going with me to headquarters aren't you I asked?
"I don't know if I will have the stomach to see you leave let alone the backbone to try hard to see you off with a smile and not a single tear Ben replied softly as he looked away.
"Don't think of it too much just remember that I will return I said as I sat him between my legs and hugged him from behind."
Ben's Pov: It's 7 and Kevin was having me hurry up and get into some subtle casual dress cloths once I had changed and slipped into my nice loafers I adjust my bracelet and its charms before walking downstairs.
"Come on I really want this night to be one we both remember Kevin said as he stood outside while spinning his keys round on his finger."
I nod softly and climb into the car and put my window down a little. Once we pull up to the restaurant I had a flashback to when I came here a few times on my own and each time I tried a different kind of dessert on the menu they all tasted really great so I felt happy. Once we got seated and were given our menus we placed our drinks in and then I began to read everything checking to see if there was something new I haven't had. Once our drinks came our server told us of the specials that night and then left us to mull over what to eat.
"Any idea on what you want Kevin asked?
"Not a single clue I said as I turned my head to him.
"Me neither Kev said not even looking at me and kept his eyes glued to the menu."
I eventually decided on the lobster with mashed potatoes and Kevin got the blue cheese bacon burger. I really miss the taste of lobster and so after a while of just sitting looking up at a jumbo plasma screen our food comes out I right away put the bib on and split open the underbelly then pour the butter in I crack off what can be cracked so the butter can mix with the rest of the lobster meat. I start to devour the lobster and enjoy every single bite of it smiling all the while.
"You really like shellfish don't you asked Kevin?
"I just haven't had lobster in a few years so I really missed the taste of it I replied after I swallowed a large amount of lobster down my throat." After we finished I was looking at all the different desserts even noticing a section title *Ben Tennyson Approved* and saw all the one's I had tried in the past suddenly I felt my pocket twitch and so I reach in and find my phone displaying a call from Artur so I had a feeling it was about how Seth is fairing but right now I just really wanted to enjoy my time with Kevin so I just let it keep vibrating and yet Kevin noticed.
"Answer it you goof it might be the results of Seth's hospital visit Kevin said looking at me.
"No as much as I care about our friends I don't want to be bothered by calls right now I glared back.
"Just answer it already I'm sure they won't take much of our time up Kevin shrugged looking back at his menu to read over the desserts."
I just slide out of the booth and put enough distance between Kev and I before hitting answer.
"Hi Ben why didn't you pick up within the first three rings like you normally do Artur greeted?
"How about because I'm out with Kevin at a nice restaurant that I really like and I'm trying to spend as much time with him as I can I said with my voice trembling at the end.
"Sorry about bothering you then and what do you as much time with him as you can that part I don't understand Artur replied.
"Forget I said anything I'm sure you called to let me know of Seth so let's get to that I said with no emotion at all in my tone.
"Right the doctors said it doesn't need an operation of any sort so he is in an arm sling and a leg cast but he just needs to stay off that arm and leg so they can heal properly Artur replied." "Hold on Ben because Seth wants to talk to you Artur said over the phone.
"Ben what's going on I heard your voice trembling a little when you were talking before Seth asked bluntly?"
After telling the guys about what's going on the line went silent for a moment and then Seth told me that if I need anything to comfort me from any of them to just call and I told them I will adjust and I will call if I need them I then return to see Kevin already ordered dessert for me.
I just sit silent and notice that its parts of all the desserts I approved of rolled into one. Fruit tart custard, cannoli cream, fudge frosting, cheesecake all mixed and stuffed into the center of red velvet cake. I run my spoon along the sides and scrape off the fillings then give the spoon to Kevin.
"What's up you're not eating did you overstuff yourself on lobster Kevin asked?
"No that's not it I wanted you to take the first bite but forget it I replied and just take my fork cutting off the angles and ate them without a second glance at him."
As I eat the dessert the flavors just fuse together so wonderfully and that's when I reach the final piece of cake I see something drawn in chocolate onto the plate it was a drawing of a ring and there was a heart in its center and trailing off the ring was a set of words. 'Marry me I uttered softly in surprise?'
"Will you Kevin asked as he reached into his pocket pulled out a small box and inside it contained a beautiful gold ring with a stunning diamond on top with rubies on its sides."
Soon the entire restaurant looked at me awaiting my answer but I was caught off guard by it all I always imagined spending my life with Kevin but I knew it would only be a dream of mine to go and marry him so I closed my eyes a softly start to count back from five. 5…4…3…2...1...eyes open and awaken I muttered softly but when my eyes opened I was still met with the same sight.
"You're not imagining this Benji I want to spend my entire existence with you so please won't you marry me Kevin asked looking me right in the eyes with such a fire of love in his gaze?" I felt so happy I couldn't help but cry. I hugged him tight and replied "Yes a million times yes Kevin I will." Then the entire restaurant was in a roar of celebratory applause. I was so happy Kevin really did make me feel better. I just lay my head up next to his shoulder and smile up at him.
"Let's go home so I can keep you like this Kevin said as he looked at me.
"Yeah sure thing I said with a smile permanently plastered on my face." Once we got home Kevin went upstairs to take care of something so I took off my shoes and socks placing my socks inside my shoes before heading outside just because I enjoy feeling the grass between my toes. I felt so happy that I couldn't stop giggling with joy besides tears are tears weather they are happy or sad and I told myself to not cry while Kevvy is still around no matter the reason. So I just sat there wiggling my toes into the grass and looking out at the sky to watch the moon rise.
"You normally come outside if your mind is troubled a voice said from behind me.
"Not this time I sometimes just like the feeling of grass blades running between my toes so that's why I'm out here I replied.
"You're putting up a brave front for him aren't you another voice asked with worry?"
I turn around and see my cousin and the eagle girls standing there. "Yes I'm trying to be strong because of this but its ok I'm far too happy right now to worry about him leaving on a mission I smiled." I show them my hand and tell them that he just proposed to me a few minutes ago after I talked with Seth and Artur. The three females were so happy they group hugged me but soon the girls let go but Gwen wouldn't release me just yet. Suddenly I hear the porch door open and shut then footsteps walk out to where we are that's when Gwen decides to let me go.
"Hi there girls hi Gwen what are all of you doing here Kevin asked?
"I came after I heard from gramps about everything I wanted to make sure Ben was handling it well Gwen stated." "We came for same reason because Ben told Seth and Seth told us Marla explained." "Nicely played Kevin and congrats I'm sure you both will be very happy together Sylvia smiled."
"Ben if you ever need me just page me Gwen said hugging me one last time" "And same goes for us Marla stated." All I do is nod and watch everyone disappear. Once I'm alone with Kevin I just stretch a little and continue to wiggle my feet into the grass. Kevin then sits down and sits me between his legs.
"You are so cute when you smile Kevin said as he ran his fingers through my hair and kisses up my neck. "Should we go see your parents about us getting married Kevin asked?
"Shoot your right but I don't know if there up its 9 at night I replied.
"Doesn't hurt to check Kevin remarked." So we got back into the car and we headed to my parent's house. Once there I saw the light in the kitchen was on through the window so I walk in and my mom is sitting there with a cup of tea and a book. "Ben and Kevin what a nice surprise to see you even if it's late mom smiled. "Mom there is something I want you to see I smiled. "Ok then what is Ben my mom asked as she put her book down." I hold out my hand and show her the ring her face then grows wide and then she smiles while a single tear falls out of her eye. "So Kevin proposed and you said yes oh Ben I'm so happy for you both Mom said happily. "Thanks mom is dad up I wanted him to know the news and to talk to him about something else in private I said plainly. "Your father is awake yes he is in our room Kevin and I will be down here waiting down here for you Mom smiled." I nod and walk up the steps leaving Kevvy with my mom once at my dad's rooms I open the door dad looks at me and sees the ring on my finger so he gets off the bed and hugs me to congratulate me. "Dad I need to talk to you about something I said as I closed the door to his room behind me. "Ok kiddo what seems to be on your mind my father asked? "I hate gramps I know he is family but right now I damn well despise him I said bluntly. "Ben what's wrong what did your grandfather do my father asked with care and concern? "He is sending Kevin away to another galaxy and Kev and I haven't been able to spend much time to ourselves in our room other than to sleep I said with rage in my eyes and the worst part is we don't know how long Kevin is going to be there I barked turning my hands into fists and turning my knuckles white." My father just hugs me and tells me that what Kevin told me is true and he will return to me I just need to be strong. After I calm down a bit I see my watch flash around and suddenly my grandfather is displayed. "Ben I'm glad you picked up I wanted to ask you something gramps said. "Fucking forget it you can ask as many times as you damn well desire I'm not doing bullshit for you we may share the same last name but I don't consider you part of my family anymore go ask one of your other pawns like your granddaughter Gwen to do it now fuck off I flip out on my grandfather and shut the watch off." I walk out of the door and downstairs Kevin looks at me and see's that I'm pissed off so he puts his hand on my shoulder and walks me out. Once back at our house Kevin asks me why I look so enraged. I tell him I just got a call from grandpa and told him off. Kevin holds me tight I then right away start to soften my eyes back to normal. "How about we take that bath now said Kevin." I look up at him and nod then walk along behind him once upstairs I pour a small amount of bubble liquid into the water and soon enough it makes a thin blanket of foam form on top of the water. Once the bath was drawn I went to grab my footie pj's but Kevin stood in my way I told him what I was doing and he said that he prefers us sleeping naked together so I slip past and pull my watch off and slide off my ring put them on the nightstand and hurry back once I get back to the bathroom Kevin's already in the tub. "As nice as it feels it would be better with both of us in it so hustle up Kevin said bluntly" I nod my head and take off my cloths Kevin sits up against the edge of the tub and smacks me right on my naked ass causing a loud squeak to escape my mouth. Just as I put my foot in the water my phone is vibrating I look and its Gwen so I give a growl and a sigh before hitting answer. "Gwen what in the hell do you want I'm trying to take a bath together with Kevin if this is about me flipping at gramps then forget it I'm not changing my mind what I told him is the cold truth of reality weather you and he like it or not I barked into my phone." Basically in a nutshell the science department at headquarters wanted to study the dreams of loving someone at a distance Gwen replied." "I still won't and that's that so stop calling me I retorted and shut off my phone" I just slip into the bathwater and place my feet up near the dials. It felt nice to take a bath together and yet Kevin was enjoying it more than I was due to the fact that I just wanted everyone to shut up and stop calling me. While in the bath I was thinking of what it would be like to let Kev have his way with me in the back of the car with the doors locked. I felt so content and happy I ease myself into Kev whose arms were out by the edges of the tub. The thought just gets stronger and stronger I sigh a sigh of comfort and so I just close my eyes and let the heat from the bath ease my nerves but even after he climaxed in my head I still hear Kevin calling my name then I open my eyes and see Kevin shaking me.
"The hell can't I just seal my eyes and enjoy being in a bath together I sniped at him.
"You looked like the bath water put you in a deep sleep save sleeping for morning Kevin said.
"I wasn't sleeping just spaced out and was having a daydream I replied bitterly.
"What kind was it Benji was it one of your dirty daydreams Kevin asked?
"I...ugh…no it isn't at all it's just a regular daydream I fibbed.

I set some songs to repeat then dance by myself in the cold dark night of early autumn until I feel sleepy and sleep in my sleeping bag that I stored between two trunk roots.
