Loving from afar Part2
Kevin's Pov: After fallowing Benji back to our room he sat on the bed looked at me for a second as if to just say hi with his eyes then returned his focus to his notepad. I got extremely curious as to what he is so focused on so I sit close to him and lean my head in his direction and see Benji is designing cloths and seeing all the pages that flipped up I was certain those as well were clothing ideas. When he noticed that I was watching him designing he closed the notepad and stopped his music. "What is it Kev why are you looking at my designs as I sketch them Benji said as he just laid back with his head on the pillow." "You looked so focused and you seem better now I replied warmly as I lay beside him and draw him close." Just like always he melts into my warmth and I tell him that I liked his deigns and I hear a small sigh of mixed feelings escape his lips, "You ok I asked?" "Kind of just had better days Benji said." I know you seem happy to spend as much time together as we can and feel happy that I like your designs but I also know you're sad at the same time because we won't see eachother for a long time I said sweetly." "I guess with my eye for clothing and costume designs if we end up having kids of our own all of their classmates will be jealous of them Ben said with a soft voice and an even softer smile." "Us have kids and be parent's I'm not sure how I would feel about that I said caught way off guard." "Well I'm sure I would be a good parent but you well that's something else Benji said as he looked at me." "Come on Benji lets go head back home it's almost lunch time and I thought it would be nice for us to escape the base for the rest of the day till… well you know I said trying to change topics yet keep a positive mood in the air." I'm not hungry but fine we can get off the base Benji said with his eyes looking off to the side." I could tell Benji was lying I knew for a fact he had a good appetite and knew as soon as we headed to the place I had in mind he would be able to eat plenty. We get into the car and he decides to hit the button on the dash this time after a while we land back on our home turf and back on four wheels as I drive I notice Benji is quietly listening to his music and stares out the window I could feel the pain he hid behind his eyes and every time we looked at eachother I notice him giving what to me looks like a forced smile. Soon we get where I wanted to go and I asked them if it was ok for us to sit outside the hostess nodded seeing as I was with Ben and the people of town think of him as a hero and so once outside we are given menus and left alone. "Go ahead pick anything you want all I want from you is a smile not a forced one I said warmly" "I told you I'm not hungry Ben replied with no expression on his face what so ever." "Come on Benji smile let's make the rest of today filled with happy memories I said as I wrapped my hand behind him and rested it sweetly upon his shoulder." "Fine whatever you're the one who's running this show not me Benji spoke with again no emotion." It hurt my heart to see him like this but I knew if he didn't show emotion on the outside it was because of pain and sadness inside most likely due to us being apart for a month and he wanted to look strong infront of me today of all days. Just as I was about to confront him and call him on it the waitress came over and asked us for our drink order then she recognized Ben automatically. "Hi Ben let me guess hot chocolate with whipped cream she asked?" Benji's ears pricked up to her voice so he turned her way and actually smiled not a forced smile but a real smile. "Oh hi Shannon didn't know you were working today and I think I'll have a hot apple cider if you have it with a light dusting of cinnamon on top Ben replied happily." "Of course we have it silly it's fall after all she replied happily and anything for you sir as she turned her attention to me." "Hot mocha please I replied." "So one hot cider lightly dusted with cinnamon on top and a hot mocha excellent choices and not to be too curious but what's today best buddies day out she said as she wrote our drinks into her notepad." Actually this is Kevin remember when I came in often alone I'd talk to you about him turns out we both had the same feelings for eachother but we were both too afraid to tell the other Ben replied sweetly while happily smiling at her." "Oh Ben that's wonderful she replied any more gossip for me about this seeing as it feels like forever sense we've last seen you here Shannon asked eagerly?" "Sure but I'll tell you when you get back with our drinks looks like you got tables waiting for you Ben said kindly." She nodded her head and walked back inside. "You did it you actually did it I said as I hugged my Benji happily." "Did what he asked plainly." "You smiled an actual non forced real smile oh I'm so happy to see you smiling without forcing it I said as I placed a small peck on his cheek." "Kevin quit it we are in public people are inside probably watching us right this very moment Ben said." "Sorry it's just before u talked with Shannon you seemed so dull so empty so emotionless and always when we looked at eachother in the car it felt like you would always give a forced smile so I'm just so happy your back to smiling normally I explained to him." "Guess I'm just trying to prepare for later tonight Ben said with sadness in his voice. Now enough gabbing decide on what you want to eat Ben said as he double checked the menu and then closed it." "Your face I replied softly in his ear to tease him." I look over my menu and decide on my meal and soon enough Shannon is back with our drinks. "So Ben what else is new with you both she asked as she set our drinks down." "Well let's see Kevin proposed to me and now we are going to have to slip away from eachother for a month starting tonight because he is being sent out on a special solo assignment so yeah I'm going to be home all month long and have to plan our wedding all by myself Ben said with an ache in his voice and eyes." "Oh well congrats on getting engaged but also I'm sorry you have to love eachother from afar for an entire month especially when it's the month of disguises and chocolate coated sweets and fun things like bobbing for apples and above all doing the thriller dance Shannon said in a sympathetic tone before asking for our orders." "It's ok and I will have my regular Ben replied calmly before sliding his menu over." "I'll get the torpedo I replied as I handed both menus over to her." she then nods and walks away. "I guess you're a regular at many places that they always know exactly what you want to order I said to Ben before taking a sip of my drink." "Yeah mostly when during school days when we weren't on call for patrols and I didn't feel like eating home food Ben said as if it was nothing."
Ben's Pov: All day long Kevvy has been trying to get me to smile and have a fun time so even if I felt that focusing on keeping myself stubborn to seem strong he wanted me to just ease into him and just enjoy the rest our remaining time together and it made me feel warm inside. I loved having him trying to lift my spirits instead of me making myself seem down and depressed. After a while Shannon comes back with our food and then tells us she is now on break and asked if she could join us I told that I don't mind at all she then took the seat across from me and calmly bites on her food and then starts to tell me how it seems dead and dull with me not coming often. "Yeah sorry alien busting and finishing school really kept me busy and one night after we finished busting ah monster Kevvy here invited me to sleep over his place and next day after another battle we end up confessing to eachother that we both had the same feelings for one-another I replied between bites of my food." "Ben that's amazing and I like the nickname you have for him I'm sure he has a cute one for you as well so I can guess that after the confessing to eachother that you both decided for you to live at Kevin's together Shannon said as she continued to eat her meal with a smile on her face." "You're right Benji and I both after confessing to eachother our love for eachother both decided to live together sadly like Benji mentioned I proposed to him and now we have to love eachother from afar what makes it worse is that he is spending most of it in solitude Kev mentioned before returning his attention to his food." We kept talking about things they mainly give me hell for keeping myself isolated soon enough we all finish eating and Shannon goes to ring up our check after I handed her my card. "I guess dinner is up on the base so you can right away go to your transport ship I said plainly as I looked to my Kevvy." "Maybe or we can enjoy being down here so stop ruining a good time I wanted to see you smile as long as I could before leaving you all alone without me by your side Kev said as he slid his hand up and down my cheek." "I know you want these last moments together to truly matter but seriously stop it Kev I mean it what if are in fact watching us I said as I grabbed his arm and twist it till his hand leaves my face." Soon she comes back and I write my signature I then asked her to sit down for a quick moment regarding the wedding. "Please don't go aww like a school girl this is something that I need you to take serious I said." "Okay Ben I will give it my best shot she replied." I then tell her that I've picked out the cake order but we haven't picked what date the wedding will be and yet to book catering and I would like it if the restaurant would handle catering the wedding. "Oh my goodness Ben to be asked such an honor just hold on stay right there she responded before getting up and running into the back while telling the bar workers to fallow her. Soon I heard gasping chefs and bar staff squealing eventually the head chef and the owners of the restaurant come out with Shannon seeing as she was head of bar staff but most of her time worked the floor they all as a chorus reply yes and then go back to their work with the biggest and giddiest smiles placed on their faces. "You should make the cake while the baker watches because I'm sure you would be great at making the cake to our special day Kevin said as placed his hand on top of mine." I feel something touch me but it isn't a hand so I look and see its Anna with a pen in her hand I calmly take the pen and swiftly sign my name then give it back to her and I tell her that my parents have certain recipes I will give her to use as part of the catering menu and then I get up and try to make my leave but of course Kevin latched onto my wrist but I manage to pry myself from him and walk away with my hands in my pockets and I don't walk with my usual one foot infront of the other hip swing once inside the car I just melt into my seat and just enjoy the calming quiet as I pull out my pocket notepad and pen to draw up various options for a jack-o'-lantern after about 15 tries I figure out an amazing idea so I get to designing it out but just as I go to do the names into special jack-o'-lantern font the car door opened and shut then I feel something touch me on my shoulder blade yet without looking I knew it was Kevin so I pull up my anime playlist and let the tunes flood my ears and continue what I was working on. Soon as I put my notepad and pen away the music stops and I look to see Seth is calling so I answer the call "Hi Seth anything yet I asked?" "We were thinking come as you are you can do your own thing or we can do a group but you need to be in costume Seth replied." "Sure sounds great also I just finished the best jack-o'-lantern idea I could ever design I will send you it and then tell me what you think I replied." I then snap a photo of the design and send it to Seth and wait for his opinion. "This is remarkable Ben you're eye for details in your works is truly phenomenal you really should open up your own shop one day and we would all be more than happy to help run it and even find other students interested in helping as well Seth replied with glee." "Seth please I have so many things that I've got a sharp eye for detail so I doubt people would buy anything that I make I replied with a slight blush creeping up onto my cheeks." "Come on dude if they knew it was the great Ben Tennyson who made what was being sold people would flock and tussle for it all Seth said with a cheerful voice." "I'll give some thought cya I said before he hung up." I soon put my notepad away and removed Kevin's hand from my blade and still quietly watch nature dace its seasonal dance yet Kevin being stubbornly persistent as always decided to turn my head towards him and holds it in his hands and kisses my forehead I knew if I tried to resist him that he would get disappointed and start playing twenty questions so I just sit quietly and let him hold me as best he can. Suddenly I feel him run his hand through my hair and down the back of my neck I feel so relaxed but remember we in public so I just lay my hands on his shoulders and place my head on top one of my hands and nuzzle my head a little with a small smile on my face but when he looks in my eyes he knows I'm not showing my true happiness due to us in public so he steals a kiss and then heads us to our place soon as he gets us into our room he tries to lay me on my side and snuggle into him but instead of just snuggling into him I get nice and close then I lay him on his back and lay my head on his chest and turn his face down he soon understood what I was doing and kisses me while softly stroking my hair. We kept kissing each other furiously and then soon stopped to catch our breath but after catching it he decided to say something that surprises me. "There were so many times I wanted to say something naughty because of you and yet couldn't because we were either in public or had people over Kevin said as he softly sucked on my earlobe." Soon I feel him slide under the covers and I get the feeling that he is also undressing us both because shortly after I feel more of his skin touch mine and my back lay up against something other than the bed and soon I feel him wrap his arms around me I of course melt into his touch and shortly after I'm napping peacefully.
