AN: Okay, I've run into a bit of an issue. See, if I continue too far into Nightwings Flight I'll spoil what's going to happen in Legend of the Dark Knights, so I'm probably going to take a break from this story after this chapter. I've also gotten back to Legend of the Dark Knights, so it's not entirely impossible to understand. One more thing before I start, I've branched onto Instagram, Tumblr, and Twitter to announce things to people who want to, and my Tumblr will also feature chapters I almost wrote, redesigns of characters, but you can follow any of them which will be posted in my profile from now on.
Batgirl
23:00 SEP 2ND 2013 JUMP CITY
"Have any of you spotted something?" I asked from my perch on top of the tallest hotel in Jump City.
"Sorry Bats, nothing on Maine Street besides this bank robbers earlier," Cyborg answered.
"There is nothing by the docks either Batgirl," Star Fire chimed in.
"No," Raven said.
"There's nothing in the sewers either," Beast Boy said, the complaint in his voice obvious through the comms.
"How 'bout up there, any news?" Cyborg asked.
"Haven't seen anything yet, but it's still early," I answered, zooming my detective vision in to have a better view of the city.
"It's been a month since we actually had any word of Robin," Raven said. "Are you sure that his message meant what you think?"
"I am sure that Batgirl's ability to translate is fine Raven," Star Fire retorted, her voice sharp like a batterang.
"That's not what she's talkin' 'bout Star," Cyborg said, his voice more sullen than usual. "You said he told you sorry, what if…"
"…he actually meant he was sorry for betraying us?" I asked, barely able to hold in my aggression.
"Have you even stopped to consider the possibility?" Raven asked, her voice as neutral as usual.
"Robin would never!" Star fire shouted, an echo rippling through the city as she did.
"Calm down Star Fire, We're still a team here," I said, looking down at the church below me. "I've considered it, but I just can't think of any reason Robin would really turn evil."
"I'm glad you have so much faith in me," Robins cold steely voice sounding over the comms.
"Robin, what are you dpi…" Beast Boy started
"Shut up!" Robin yelled, an audible whence from the rest of the team. "My names Renegade, and I'm not here to have small talk. I'm here to deliver a message, and I don't need these coms for it."
I quickly pulled up my computer and opened up the comms system, but the system went down almost the exact second I did.
"Did you think I'd give you enough time to counter attack?" he asked from behind me. I quickly spun around to punch him but grabbed my arm and picked me up off the ground. "After all, you're the best hacker I've ever met."
I lifted myself up by the arm he was holding my by and wrapped my legs around his neck, pulling us both off of the building. As we fell to the church he ripped my legs off of him and punched me in the gut before tackling me to into the church roof, our bodies flipping over before we landed on the ground, him first.
"What the fuck are you doi…" I started before I was thrown off of Renegade, hitting a stone pilar.
"Now it's time for that message," he said, walking over to me as I tried to stand up, rubbing his shoulder. "Stop trying to save me; or you will die."
12:00 SEP 4TH 2013 JUMP CITY
I woke up in the infirmary, looking around, Raven sitting next to the other beat that Beast Boy was on.
"What happened to him?" I asked, trying to sit up before Cyborg grabbed my shoulder, and gently pushing me down.
"Beast Boy was the closest one to you," Raven answered, not looking back at me. "He showed up as Renegade was leaving, and he didn't exactly do so well in the fight."
"Well then what are you two doing here, you should be out there hunting him down," I said, Raven turning around to look at me, her anger visible through the shadow of her hood.
"It's a little late for that, don't you think?" she said, standing up just as one of the lights exploded above us.
"Calm dow…" I started before Raven interrupted me.
"I will not be calm, this is your fault!" she shouted, all the other lights in the room blowing up as well before Raven tugged on her hood. "Try to get some rest; I'll be in my room if you find him."
'Now what am I supposed to do?' I thought to myself, looking over at Cyborg who had his face in his hands as he groaned. 'Damn it Dick, I believed in you."
