[[Sorry for the lack of activity. I am working on something angsty, Azran-y and AU... But in the meantime, please enjoy more Hannah/Bloom dealing with obsessive fans. Originally I wasn't going to tackle shipping... but I like making Bloom and Hannah react to things.
Spoilers: For Azran Legacy and Lost Future.
Set: After said bonus episode.]]

After the fan club fiasco, things were finally settling down for Hannah and Bloom. In the past few weeks they had only received a handful of minor cases, which were easily solved despite their constant bickering. With the lack of activity, the duos' post box became increasingly empty. This bothered Hannah, who couldn't believe what little attention their detective agency was receiving.
"It's outrageous," Hannah paced the floor, her heels clip-clopping like an affronted pony. Bloom glared at her. He wanted to use this opportunity to organise some paperwork and tidy his desk. Clearly, that wasn't happening.
"Are there any new case requests?" It was the third time she had asked today.
Bloom drawled, "If I check, will you sit down and do something productive?"
Hannah sank into her purple chair, crossing her leg over her knee. "Well? What are you waiting for?"
Rolling his eyes, Bloom went out to open the post box outside their office... and was buried under an avalanche of letters. His call was muffled, "Hannah!"
He heard her footsteps and she helped free him from the pile of post.
She didn't care about the mess in her excitement. "You should have checked sooner! Look at all of this... It's enough to keep us busy for months!"
"These can't all be case requests," Bloom frowned, picking up a pink perfumed envelope. It must have been from Hannah's tacky magazine subscriptions or her Grosky-infatuated fan club... He tore open the letter, scanned it ("He needs someone who can ignite out his primal passion-") and shoved it into Hannah's hands. "Yours, and so are the rest of them, most likely. I thought we were past this Groskette nonsense."
His partner perused the letter, pursing her lips. "It isn't Groskette business. Some Laytonite wrote to me about why she is perfect for Professor Layton. I bet it was that beastly Rosetta Stone."
Bloom raised an eyebrow as he read another piece of fan-mail. "This one argues Emmy Altava would be a better match for the professor." Considering Altava had been ordered to spy on Layton, this was hardly the basis for a romantic relationship.
Hannah thought otherwise. "Well, the two of them seem very close, and she's always willing to follow him into danger. She's brash and he's stoic- opposites attract as they say..."
"You'd rather see her with anyone other than Grosky," Bloom smirked. The inspector and Altava made a formidable team, much to Targent's distaste. After a warning, she wasn't so chummy with Grosky, much to Hannah's relief.
"Grosky already has a wife," Hannah retorted.
"What a pity. You'll have to pursue another inspector... What about Inspector Chelmey?"
Hannah grimaced. "He is far too... grumpy for my tastes. And he is also happily married."
"To his subordinate, Barton?"
"No, to Grosky's sister!"
Bloom shrugged. "Pardon me for presuming. Chelmey and his constable are so rarely apart." (Out of the officers at Scotland Yard, they were one of the least... offensive duos.)
"Seeing them together must make you miss your old leader," Hannah hummed.
This gained a rise out of Bloom. "What are you talking about?"
"I overheard Grosky discussing your 'loyalty' to Leon Bronev-"
Bloom attacked another letter before she could continue. The next one proclaimed, "I can't imagine Professor Layton loving another after losing Claire."
"I don't entirely agree," Hannah said. "Professor Layton could have the capacity to love move than one person in his life. But it's their opinion. Next."
Bloom grabbed the next letter and made a face of disgust. "Descole and Layton?" Why would anyone date Descole, let alone his worst enemy?
Hannah fanned herself. "Now we're talking."
"You do know who Descole is, don't you? A deceitful criminal who threatened the life of your dearest Grosky—"
"So were you, and yet here we are." She had a point there.
Bloom shook his head. "Layton thwarted all of Descole's plans. Descole wanted revenge against him."
"It's a love hate relationship," Hannah insisted. "Kind of like what we have, but a hundred times hotter."
"We have nothing like that," Bloom dismissed, his gaze drifting to the letter again. At the bottom of the page, the 'DesLay' fan had added: "P.S. Layton/Randall is also kinda cute."
Bloom remembered hearing of a man named Randall Ascot in Monte d'Or. He was a childhood friend of Layton's who had seemingly lost his life, before returning years later to take 'revenge' on the friends who wronged him. In actuality, Descole was manipulating him. Despite his mistakes, Layton managed to forgive Ascot and their friendship was restored. At least they made more sense together then... DesLay. Ugh.
Bloom told Hannah this, but she was firmly set on Descole and Layton.
He challenged, "Find me one other letter that supports them and I'll agree with you."
Hannah flicked through a series of letters, "Layton/Aldus... Layton/Angela... Layton/Phoenix Wright... Layton/Janice... Layton/his hat— okay then— Layton/Clive... Wait, Clive Dove?" She studied the argument for LayClive, her eyes widening. Then she crumpled the DesLay letter and tossed it over her shoulder. "I've changed my mind. Layton/Clive is my new favourite pairing."
Bloom protested, "What- where is this coming from? Clive Dove is arguably more unhinged than Descole, and more at fault."
"And who was person who brought him down from the edge of insanity? Who was the only one Clive trusted to save him? Who visits Clive in prison every Friday evening? Hershel Layton, that's who!" She looked thoughtful. "If Clive was ever released, do you think he could be put under house arrest with the professor to watch over him?"
"That isn't going to happen."
"But it could one day in the future."
"Yes, but then Layton could end up with any one of these people. Maybe he could meet someone entirely new. Maybe he will never pursue romantic relations again. There's no way in telling, so there's no point in us- these fans arguing about it."
"You're right, I suppose," Hannah sighed. (However, she folded the LayClive letter in her pocket.)
One more letter remained. They looked at each other. Bloom gestured for Hannah to open it.
"Hannah/Bloom 5ever."
