Shatters of a Reflection Chapter 12: The Arrival – Revised

"Damn it!" I cursed as I hurried down the hallways of the school. Someponies that heard me gasped at the vulgar language I was using but right now I was just not in the mood.

"We have them. If you want them back come to the empty hall behind the gym alone. If anypony else but you comes then say goodbye to your precious little items."

I crushed the paper in my hand, unconsciously using my magic to burn it into a crisp before letting the remains shatter in the winds.

They, I'm guessing more than one pony had a hoof in this. Stole the Bracer and the necklace Mom gave me on my birthday. Two things that I held dear were taken from me.

"Jake? Hey Jake!" I was stopped by a hoof on my arm, and I turned to see it was Shining, "What's wrong Bud? Why did you just take off in a hurry like that?" He asked me and I just looked down at his hoof and was about to remove it when something crossed my head.

"I told you, they can't be trusted." I placed my free hand to my head as the voice spoke to me again, "They only pretend to be your friend. You don't need them. Make him leave. Now!"

I snapped my arm back away from Shining's hold which he wasn't expecting.

"Go away." I said in a harsh tone.

I turned away to continue but I was stopped by him again.

"Jake what the hay is your problem? You can tell me if something is wrong." He gave me a concerned looked and I felt this ping in my head.

'Huh? Why and I pushing Shining away? He's my friend.' I thought and I was about to tell him when that same voice came back.

"No! Don't believe his lying words! He isn't your friend! He's been lying to your ever since you met him that day! He can't be trusted!"

I shook my head wincing slightly before I glared down at Shining, "Let me go before I make you." I told him clearly stating I wasn't in the mood right now.

But he just gripped my arm harder, how I don't know but he did and before I knew it my other hand was lifted up and it shot out latching onto his face and I saw the shock in his eyes before I felt his magic pouring into my body becoming mine.

He tried to break free but I was stronger than him. Fingers really did wonders against hoof in the sense on holding things.

I watched as he became more and more tired as his hoof let me go and dropped down to the ground before his body followed.

Letting him go I just shook my head as he watched me wall away from him.

"Jake! Jake wait up!" I heard him shouting at me but my mind was on a one side track right now.

'That's right Jake, no pony can stop you. Those that hurt you deserve to pay, and those that steal from you need to be taught a lesson.'

I don't know why but I found myself grinning at the thought of making whoever stole from me pay for what they took from me.

Once I found the hall beyond the gym, it was the small gym that was hardly used but they were inside of it.

I placed my hand on the door and opened it only to see nothing but darkness inside, and the only light was coming from the cracks in the windows and the door that I opened.

"Where are you? I know your here!" I shouted as the door behind me slammed shut and I was lost in the darkness that is until I felt something thrown at me and wrap around my body trying to hold me down.

I fought against it, using my drain ability to take the magic holding whatever was trying to capture me, but then something slammed into my side knocking me down against the cold floor as something latched onto me around my neck.

I reached up to try and rip what it was off but it didn't work. It was locked by something and it wasn't coming off. I tried to use my magic to remove it but it didn't work. My magic was being blocked by something.

"Interesting, it would appear that the restrainers work on whatever you are." I heard a snide voice say from the darkness and I knew who's it was.

"Sunset Shimmer!" I shouted out as the room became lit up with lights to show said pony standing there with my bracer and necklace on.

Rage is what I felt when I saw her tapping it with a hoof, I jumped up and ran towards her and I was inches from her when a light opal hue surrounded me forcing to me come to a halt.

I tried to drain the magic from it but something was stopping me from doing it. I left a strain when I tried again only for this sharp electrical pain run down my body but I wasn't able to fall since Sunset was holding me up with her magic.

"What *Haa* Did you *Haa* Do to me?" I said between breaths.

Sunset just smirked as she forced me to my knees, "I see that you noticed that your magic is being suppressed. Just a little something that my father gave to me in case somepony tried to take advantage of me." She said trotting over to only when she did I was about to lung at her but I was stopped once more by different magic.

"You think you can pull a fast one. I don't think so."

I looked to my left and right to see Sunset's groupies surrounding me.

"Thank you boys, now tie him up." She said as they magically lifted some rope over towards me and tied my wrist together.

"What are you thinking doing this Sunset!" I shouted at her but she just walked over, stopping in front of me and lifted my necklace up to her face.

"Oh, I would but it just why should I tell you?" She hummed as she circled her hoof over the trinket as she eyed me.

I growled out at her, "Because those are mine!" I yelled out only to have a hoof slam against my face knocking me down to the wooden floor.

I spat out a small amount of blood that gathered in my mouth before I was lifted up by magic again.

Sunset just dropped the necklace and then held up the bracer, "Do you know that this is freak?" She asked me.

I just stared at her, 'Of course I know that it is, but I can't say where it came from.' I bite down on my tongue and held that in, "It was a gift to me." I said but instead of a simple reaction she looked shocked and angry at me.

"What do you mean it was a gift?" She shouted at me.

"It was a gift on my last birthday." I said and it only seemed to make her angrier.

She stomped around blurting out words before she stopped and looked at me again, "You mean to tell me she gave you this for your birthday! Something so important to her! And she just gave it to you!" She shouted spiting a bit on me.

I lifted my tied up hands and wiped the spit away, "So, I don't see the big deal about it. Princess Celestia gave me those for my Birthday so return them to me now!" I shouted at her as my anger started to stir again.

"Shut up!" She shouted as she slapped me across the face, "To think that she would give this to you! I wanted this! She told me this was too important for anypony to have yet she gives it to you! A freak!" She shouted in my face.

I was glad that I was being held in place by magic or I would have leapt at her.

"Listen, just give me them back and I'll forget this even happened." I told her but she just glared at me and shook her head.

"I don't think you understand who is the one with the power right now freak. Boy's, how about you show him the same courtesy he showed up before." She said as the four ponies started to come closer to me.

I knew them, most ponies do. They were Sunset Shimmers groupies and self-proclaimed fans. They all loved her, and wanted her affection but she just kept them so do her bidding, and like they were doing right now.

They all had beef with me since on more than one occasion I had fought them since as they claimed it; they were trying to prove their worth to Sunset.

"Not so tough now are you?" One of them said as they neared me.

"Remember that time you slammed me into the ground." One said as a green hue surrounded me and I was lifted a few feet off the ground before I was slammed against the ground knocking the wind out of me.

"And that time you hit me in my face!" My head was lifted up off the ground and a hoof slammed across my chin before it came back and hit me again and again before I was dropped.

"This is going to be fun." A white coated one said as I was lifted into the air and stopped.

I spat out the blood in my mouth and glared at them.

"Do your worst." I said challenging them.

"You heard him!" One shouted as I closed my eyes and tried to drown myself from the growing pain.

'See, they hurt you because they are afraid of you. Why do you hesitate? You can destroy them like the feeble weak beings that they are!'

I shook my head as that voice spook to me again.

And I listened to it, I wanted them to pay. They needed to pay.

"Haha! Not so tough now are you freak!" One of them shouted and threw another hoof to hit me but, there was one thing I was confident in.

I moved leaned to the side as his hoof flew past my head missing me and before he could pull it back I bit down on it getting a dull irony taste in my mouth as the colt howled in pain.

He tried to pull away but the magic holding me stopped him from doing so.

"Let me go! Somepony release the magic hold on him before he tears my leg off!" He cried out as I saw the magic hue leave me.

And as soon as it did I let the pony go and jumped towards him with a body slam and I slammed his face into the ground before I another colt tried to buck me in the side. I dodged it by rolling around and kicked his front hooves out from under him making him fall into the ground where I lifted my leg up and slammed into his stomach again and again until I heard a sickening crack.

"Two down," I stood up and glared at the other two ponies that were still up, "Two to go." I said spitting out the wad of blood in my mouth again.

I was about to rush forward when that same green magic stopped me.

"Not so tough without your magic ability are you freak." The green coated pony said to me.

"And you're going to pay for doing that." The white coated one told me as he rushed over and bucked me in the chest as this sharp pain cracked inside of me.

"ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" I felt my ribs crack under his hooves the most painful thing I had felt, even from when I was impaled by that spear years ago.

"Hehehe, what's the matter? Does it hurt?" the white one mused out in a childish voice.

I gritted my teeth trying to hold in the pain I was feeling, "When I get out of this. You're going to regret ever meeting me." I spoke in a raspy and low voice as I glared holes into his head but he just laughed me off like it was nothing but empty threats.

He lifted summoned his magic and formed a ball of magic that he threw at me knocking me back once again. I coughed out and blood spat out on the ground in front of me.

I looked over at Sunset who was just smiling as she eyed the Bracer on her forearm before she looked back at me.

"I'm growing bored of this playing around. I think it's about time we end this." She said as the two colts looked at her before turning to me with smirking on their faces.

Without a word I was suddenly lifted into the air by combined magic of both colts, only when they lifted me it was by my neck.

I wasn't able to even gasp or make a single noise as I was hoisted up my legs dangling beneath me.

"I wondered what we were going to do to you in the end but the best thing we could think of was just…" She paused and smirked, "Besides, it like not anypony really loved you. A freak of a hairless ape like yourself, it's nothing personal but…well you understand." She said laughing while not even sparing me one last glance as she started to walk towards the exit and left with the doors closing behind her.

I thrashed around trying to break free but it was useless. I felt like a child again, not able to do anything.

…..

With every passing second I felt my consciousness slipping away.

The breath in my body left me as I just held on by a whim.

…..

Everything was getting darker…and darker…

….

.

'This is your last resort.'

My eyes snapped open as I felt this energy suddenly pulsing through my veins waking me and recovering me from what would have been my end.

"The buck?" I heard one of them gasp as I lifted my hands to my neck and started to pry the suppresser off only to have the volts of electricity shock me, but I didn't stop.

With this no found energy flowing through me I forced it out ignoring the pain I felt from the collar blocking it but I felt it cracking as the electricity started to dull out and with one last pull I let a low groan out as I ripped the collar in half as my magic burst out of me creating a shockwave that knocked the two colts off their feet and myself towards the ground where I slumped down taking deep breaths.

"What the buck was that!" One of them shouted as they recovered faster than I did and I felt their magic covering me once more as I was forced into a hold as they got back up and trotted over to me.

I just grinned at them which the white one didn't seem to like that I was doing that.

"Oh, that's it! I can't take this arrogant bastard anymore!" He roared as he rushed over and pulled a hoof back to punch me but when he was about to his hoof stopped making him confused.

That is until he saw that my fist was holding his hoof.

"I told you I'd make you pay." I said as magic spilled out of my eyes giving me this menacing look as I lifted him up with ease and slammed a fist into his face only when I did a burst of magic was added to it making a small boom as he was thrown fall right into the wall where he slammed against it before his body fell flat on the ground unmoving.

"Well, that was easy." I said looking towards the remaining green coated colt that was backing away from me slowly.

I looked over at the colt I just hit and saw a small puddle of blood leaking under him. Did I just kill him? No, I couldn't have. Could I?

'They were going to kill you. If they are willing to go that far then you shouldn't be afraid to do the same.'

"That's right." I said agreeing with the voice in my head, "And those that hurt me need to pay." I felt my magic forming around my fist as the colt weaved a ball and launched it at me only to have it absorbed into me as soon as it was close enough.

I felt this cold chill running through my arms but it felt good at the same time.

"Two can play at that game." I said as I slammed my palms together as this small ball of dark blue magic began to form between them before I separated them and it grew bigger and bigger until it was the size of a basketball.

I just grinned at the look on the colts face as it became pale and he turned tail to run but I threw the ball forward as it chased him down and hit its mark with a resounding boom that shook the ground and knocked up a cloud of dust.

"Tch," I clicked my tongue as the cloud drifted away and I saw him knocked against some chair but still breathing.

I would have finished the job but I heard the doors opening to the side.

"Did you two dolts finish the job-"

She stopped when she saw me standing there in the middle of the gym my body leaking out streams of magic, "You have something that belongs to me." I said as I started walk towards her and she seemed to notice that the collar around my neck was missing as her eyes went wide and she bolted.

'I like it when they run.'

"So do I." I said answering to my inner voice as I flashed my magic around me and teleported outside of the gym and front in the path of Sunset who shrieked out as I appeared and grabbed her by the throat with my left hand while I ripped the Necklace out from around her neck before I placed it in my pocket and I grabbed the bracer on her foreleg not caring that when I removed it something cut her as she screamed in pain.

I used my magic to hold her in place as I took the bracer and placed it around my arm. I gave a sigh in relief that it wasn't damaged or broken before I turned back to the frightened mare.

"You know. I never liked you. And I never had any reason to truth hurt you. I left you alone, but you go and do something like this." I said shaking my head, "I can take the hint that you hate me, I could care less about that. But when you think you can end my life because of some stupid jealously!" I grabbed her by the neck and pulled her in closer to where my mouth was by her ear, "I won't hesitate to kill you." I said in a whisper as I threw her against the ground in front of me which when she hit it; it created a small crater as she let out a painful scream.

'Yes, make her pay for what she has done to us! She deserves to suffer, she deserves to die!'

Compelled to make her suffer I lifted her with my magic without giving her time to recover from the pain, and threw her across the court and against a wall which I pinned her too with my magic.

I didn't say anything as I gathered my magic which started to change into a darker color with every passing second. But I ignored that and formed anther ball of magic before I slammed my palms between at making it more compressed and smaller.

And unlike the other version of this spell, it was more deadly.

I lifted it above my head before I threw my hands down and the small ball of magic went sailing across the grounds making a trail behind it as Sunset screamed before the ball connected with her an caused a large explosion that shook the ground beneath me.

I felt this joy in seeing the wall broken and falling apart inside of me, but when the dust cleared I saw no Sunset anywhere in sight.

I a deep growl echoed from my throat as I looked around and saw nothing that is until I turned around and saw Sunset Shimmer behind a colt.

"Jake! What the buck are you thinking using that spell! On a pony no less!" Shining shouted at me as he seemed to of recovered somewhat since I stole his magic energy from him.

I stared at him, he was panting which meant that he must have saved Sunset but it took more out of him then he thought. But then I saw Sunset who had the look of horror on her face and I started to walk forward intent on finishing what I started.

"Jake! Stop right now! I don't know that Sunset did to you but this isn't like you!" he shouted and I stopped and thought for a moment.

'This isn't like me…he's right. I don't hurt ponies. I made a promise.' I thought as the magic around be started to calm.

That is…, 'NO! It's nothing but lies! If you can't hurt them then why can they hurt you! You have to show them that they should fear you! That they should know who the hell they are dealing with!'

I froze as I placed a hand over my forehead as I started to get a migraine.

"No." I said suddenly making Shining confused.

"What do you mean no?" He asked.

I lifted my head and opened my eyes as magic leaked from them once more, "I won't be weak again. I am strong, stronger then I have ever been in my entire life. And I won't anyone push me around anymore." I said with venom in my voice as I glared at Sunset, "I won't let anyone stand in my way!" I shouted as my rage began to boil inside of me as I lashed out with my magic creating a hold on Shining how struggled for a moment before his horn began to glow and my magic was pushed away by a barrier that appeared around him.

But it also gave me the time to push past him as he was still using his spell. I rushed towards Sunset and reached out to grab her when something bit down on my leg and stopping me.

"Argh!" I shouted as teeth dug into my ankle, "Let. Go!" I kicked my leg out hitting Shining in the head once, twice, three times before he let go and I created a pulse of magic that sent him skidding across the ground before he was stopped twenty feet away from me.

I huffed out as I felt the backlash of using so much magic but I didn't care, she hurt me in more ways than one.

"No please…I'm sorry!" Sunset whimpered out as I neared her.

I scowled at the words she told me. 'No one loves you,' 'That's right no one loves us. We are alone. Now, finish this petty game of cat and mouse.' I nodded my head as I lifted Sunset up with my magic.

She squirmed in my hold and tried to break free but I was forcing more and more magic into the bindings so she wouldn't escape this time around.

"This ends now Sunset Shimmer." I said as I focused my magic into my hand as I pointed it towards her. She began to weep freely as she blurted out words that eluded me as magic began to weave into my palm forming a red ball that grew in size until it was the size of my fist.

I pulled my hand back before I lashed out ready to finish this all when somepony jumped in front of her at the last second forcing me to stop inches from their face as the magic suddenly faded away almost instantly as I stared at the two pained eyes that were staring back at mine.

"Jake. Why are you doing this?" The Mare asked me with concern in her voice and tears just begging to break out.

"…Cadance…" I whispered out.

"Jake, answer me! Why are you doing this?" She asked again as she looked from me to Sunset who was still weeping like a foal as my magic released her and she fell to the ground.

I stood there silent and confused as what I was to say.

'Don't stop.' 'Huh?' 'Don't let her stop you. You were strong before you met her. You never should pity to those that hurt us. She changed you, made you weak. But we are not! Show her what it happens to those that get in our way!'

I felt this urge to reach out and grab Cadance but something was stopping me as I gripped my head and shook it.

'No! I can't hurt Cadance. She's my first fried, by best friend. And I…I.'

'You are more of a fool then I had once thought Jake. If you won't end this, I will!'

Suddenly my hand slow reached out towards Cadance, and for a moment I saw a light in her eyes, she thought I was going to stop. But that was quickly taken away when my hand was placed on her chest and a wave of magic shot out sending her tumbling backwards skidding much like Shining only not as far.

I felt remorse for what I had done but when I saw Sunset I felt this overpowering rage coursing thought me as I started to walk back towards her only to be stopped by a wall of light blue magic that appeared between me and her.

Something flashed in front of me and I looked down to see Cadance in front of me with her hooves and wings spread out to block me.

"Stop this now Jake, please!" She pleaded but I didn't hear her voice.

'She cannot stop us.'

That is the only thing I heard as I waved my hand to the side as a huge gust of wind flew past me taking Cadance with it which sent her crashing into the ground making a loud boom when she hit it.

I was going to continue when I heard a loud scream in pain and looked at Cadance to see her on her stomach and as she could move on her back as one of her wings looked to be broke as it was bent.

"Cadance." I gasped out as I started to move towards her when my legs stopped and my body froze up again.

'She deserved that for trying to stop us! We don't need her, or anyone else!'

Depression filled me as I just pondered on what I was trying to do? I just hurt Cadance. Yet I felt his anger inside of me still growing as the voice spoke to me.

'What are doing! Finish this! Show them we are not weak!'

I held my head and fell to my knees as the voice in my head got louder and louder until I couldn't hear anything but it anymore. I gritted my teeth and closed my eyes as I the voice told me to destroy them. To rid them of this world.

"Jake?" I opened my eyes to see Cadance sitting in front of me with her horn glowing as I just saw her wing bent behind her and I only stared in shock as I was the one that did that to her, "Jake, it's ok." She said, only her mouth didn't move. I heard her voice inside of my head.

"Cadance…I." What could I say to her? I didn't know what to do. I was so lost.

'Stop dwelling and remove her before I do!'

"Jake? What was that?" She asked as I looked up to her.

"You heard that? You can hear that voice?" I asked and she nodded her head as the voice spoke up once more.

'Stupid pony! Leave our mind before I destroy you myself!' The voice shouted as my arms reached over and grabbed her by the neck and lifted her up as she struggled to get loose.

But I was stronger than her, and she just thrashed around for a moment before she calmed down and looked at me.

"Jake, it's ok. I forgive you." She said as tears started to pour down her face but I just felt something taking over me.

"Jake, isn't here anymore." My voice said in a darker tone as my arms began to drain her of her magic which was strange. Magic never felt like this. So warm, so…kind.

But nonetheless, her magic became mine as my hands let her go and she dropped to the ground weak and vulnerable but that didn't stop her from reaching out towards me.

I slapped the hoof away and got up before turning back to Sunset who was trying to run away.

That was stopped with a simple wave of my hand as her body was surrounded by a redish black hue before she was thrown against the wall of a building hard enough that the windows above shattered and rained down around her.

She shouted out in pain but I just stalked closer to her as I pushed the broken debris out of my way and stopped over her body.

She was weeping once more for some reason the image of myself flashed in my head.

A younger me, weak and crying with a bloodied face.

I shook my head as the image just seemed to fade slighty.

"Stop playing with me!" I shouted as I punched Sunset in the face making her scream as my fist punched her again and again.

I huffed over her my breathing labored as I felt weak. My body was feeling the pain from everything and the headache I had was now a trobbing pain.

"Jake…" I heard a tiny whisper from below me.

I looked down my mind just went blank.

Below mewas Cadance, her face black and blue as blood was spattered around. Her eye swollen and she was crying.

But how? I looked to where I left her a moment again to see Sunset in the same spot as if she hadn't moved an inch.

'What are you doing! Finish her while you can! Remove this burden and prove your worth!'

The voice told me but I was in a standstill.

I looked down at Cadance and my heart broke, she worked a small pained smileon her face as she looked at me with her one eye but it wasn't fear that I saw, but concern.

"It's ok…" She whispered out in a small voice as I felt my hand twitch around her neck.

For a moment the image of me appeared again as my younger self just looked back up to me.

"I forgive you daddy.y." He said as I felt this huge chill in my body.

I remembered when I said that. That bastard beat me down when I tried to ask for something but he had been drinking and well… need I say more.

I saw this light to my left and when I turned my head, I saw a glass piece resting against the wall. And a reflection in it.

Only, what I saw made my stomach turn.

It wasn't myself that I saw. No…it was my father.

"W-Wha?" My arms began to tremble and before I even knew it I was petrified.

I saw his face looking at mine, 'What are you waiting for! You stupid child! You can never do anything right!' His shouted at me.

My eyes went wide as my whole body began to shake uncontrollably.

I turned back to Cadance and saw the redness of my knuckles, I did this.

"I'm no better then him." I whispered out as Cadance looked up and reached out to me but I flinched away from her like a wounded animal, "Don't touch me!" I shouted at her as I fell backwards onto my rear as Cadance just stared at me.

"Jake? Are you alright?" She asked in a worried tone but I just started to slowly back away.

"No, I'm not like him. I'm nothing like him!" I shouted as I buried my face in my hands, I couldn't bear to look her in the eye. Not after what I had done, and yet she was still concerned for me.

'Such a disapointment. To think you were this weak.'

I just held my head the trobbing pain returned and I gritted my teeth at the pain.

"Jake…" I lifted my head only to see that Cadance was sitting in front of me, tears gathering in her eyes, "Tell me what's wrong Jake. Please." She said but I only felt pain in my chest as I shook my head.

"I'm sorry." I said to her before I jolted up to my feet, without taking a look back I ran. I ran away like I always did. Only this time I forced the magic I had taken from Cadance to surround me. I needed to get away. I wanted to hide myself. Anywhere would do. I just needed to go.

"Jake!" I heard a cry of my name from behind me but I didn't even bat an eye as I felt my entire body becoming thinner before I teleported away.

Where, I had no idea. But after the light died down, I found myself laying head first in wet grass.

I didn't even have the strength to even look around but I did see trees, only I never saw any like these ones before. The smell of morky water and a dense fog rolled in around me as I just closed my eyes and succcumbed to my fatigue.

The last thing I saw was two light blue eyes looking at me before the darkness took me.
