Change in a Star's Alignment
Chapter 17:
Harry's POV:
"So, what's this idea?" Harry asked.
It was just after dinner and the blonde had dragged Harry back to the defense room, much to the latter's confusion. The blonde walked into the room and seemed to be thinking of something when a few bottles of fire whiskey appeared on the floor next to Draco.
"Yes!" Draco said enthusiastically, "I thought that would work! Now come on."
The blonde pulled Harry up the flights of stairs and into their flat. Draco put the bottles on the table in the living room and sat down on the sofa, motioning for Harry to do the same.
"So I guess getting drunk is your brilliant idea?" he asked amusedly as he sat on the opposite side of the sofa.
"Of course Harry," the blonde responded smiling, "what else would we do?" Draco summoned two glasses and poured them both a decent amount of fire whiskey, "Drink up!"
With that, both boys downed their drinks. Harry, who has never had fire whiskey before, nearly chocked from the burning sensation that came afterwards. They had another glass and sat in comfortable silence until Draco finally spoke.
"So Harry, how did you even figure out the whole Expelliarmus thing in the first place?"
"Oh, that! Yeah I just found out because I did what you had done in the defense room." He replied nonchalantly.
"What do you mean?" Draco asked sounding curious.
"Well, one day I lost control of my emotions and therefore my magic. So, when I cast the spell, it did more than it should have. I asked everyone I could why it happened. However, everyone told me I must have used some other spell because it 'just wasn't possible'" Harry said, obviously mimicking Dumbledore's voice, "Anyways, I ended up realising that you can alter spells and everything clicked into place after that. It was fairly easy really."
"If it was easy, then why haven't people figured it out already?" Draco asked, sounding confused.
"I dunno." he responded simply, with a shrug of his shoulders. "Another drink?"
The two smiled at each other and downed another drink when Harry remembered that he had wanted to ask something, "Oh hey, how did your dinner with Narcissa go last night?"
The blonde blushed deeply, making Harry extremely curious. He should blush more often, Harry thought, he's really quite adorable… Wait what!? Since when is he adorable? Harry shook off the thoughts and paid attention to what the blonde in question was saying.
"Oh, you know… It went well." The blonde said, still blushing a deep red.
Harry, blushing himself now due to his previous thoughts and said, "Really… So what did you talk about?" Harry asked, hoping to get the blonde to keep blushing. He wasn't disappointed.
Draco smiled, filled their glasses up again and said, "I'm not that drunk Harry."
Though Harry didn't understand, he let it drop and focused more on the smile Draco was directing his way. Harry let Draco fill up his cup again and continued to drink the fire whiskey.

Draco's POV:
"Hey Harry," Draco started after they had finished a bottle and a half between the two of them, "what's your favorite colour?"
"What?" Harry asked, amused. "Why do you want to know that?"
"I dunno, just making conversation." He replied, having a hard time saying the last word.
"Oh, well it's green. You?" the raven-haired teen confessed, blushing a little.
"Really? Green as in Slytherin green? I thought you were a Gryffindor through and through!" he said confused.
"Well actually, I'm more of a Slytherin than you might think." Harry said smugly.
"Oh really? Somehow I don't believe you Harry." He said with a laugh.
"Yes really!" Harry said. When Draco continued to look unconvinced, the other teen said, "I'll have you know, I was nearly put into Slytherin by the sorting hat first year!"
Draco, who had just been taking a drink of fire whiskey, promptly spat the drink out after hearing this.
"What!? That's not possible… But then, why were you put in Gryffindor?"
"Because I asked it to." Harry said simply.
"But… But… Is that even possible?" he asked.
"Well obviously it is."
"What if you're lying to me?"
"But I'm not." Harry said confidently.
"Well what if I don't believe you?"
"Then I'll prove it to you tomorrow." The raven-haired teen said with a smug smile.
"How?" Draco asked, curious.
"All you'll have to do is ask the sorting hat, of course."
"Well I'll be…" Draco said, "Harry Potter, the Wizarding World's very own 'Golden Boy', was supposed to be a Slytherin… Who would have thought?" he finished, with a bemused expression.
"I know right? Everyone probably would have assumed I wasn't the real Harry Potter!" Harry said with a small laugh. "Hey! You never said what your favorite colour is!"
"Oh, well it's green of course, but not Slytherin green."
Harry considered him for a few moments before asking, "Then what green is it you like?"
Draco took a minute to think about it. He looked up at Harry to tell him he wasn't sure how to describe it when his eyes locked with the other teen's. His eyes, Draco suddenly realised, are the exact shade of my favorite colour…
"Um…" Draco said, realising that Harry was still waiting for an answer. "The same shade my walls were of course." Draco lied. Though not entirely… Draco thought, my wall colour was about as close as you could get to the colour of Harry's eyes.
Draco didn't think that anyone could replicate the colour of Harry's eyes. Draco wondered why for a moment, when he understood after looking at Harry's eyes one more time. It's not the colour itself that you can't replicate, Draco knew, it's the spark of life that's always present in his eyes. It's the emotions that he shows through his eyes that makes it impossible to replicate.
Draco was brought back to reality when Harry shifted a little. This also made Draco acutely aware of how close the two of them had somehow managed to get: Harry was leaning against him slightly. However, Harry soon moved and leaned across Draco to grab the half-empty bottle of fire whiskey. He could feel the heat coming off of the other boy's body and when Harry moved away, he found himself missing the warmth. However, Harry soon leaned heavily on Draco's side a few glasses later. Neither boy complained.
"Hey Harry" Draco muttered tiredly.
"Hmm?" was all the raven-haired teen responded with.
"Maybe we should go to bed." As much as he didn't want to get up, he knew that they were going to pass out soon.
Harry seemed to not want to move either as he simply waved his hand around in some sort of pattern. Draco was extremely confused. At least, he was until he felt the sofa turn into a bed beneath him. Did Harry just perform wandless and non-verbal magic? Draco wondered. He resigned himself to ask about it in the morning however, because he was too tired to really ask.
He lay down on the sofa-turned-bed and felt his head land on a very comfortable pillow. He was about to fall asleep when he felt something warm against him. He opened his eyes a little and discovered that Harry had moved closer to Draco in his sleep. Draco gave a small smile before leaning into the warmth that was Harry Potter.
Draco fell asleep to the sound of the raven-haired teen's breathing and the feel of the other boy's heartbeat against Draco's hand which was resting on Harry's chest. He fell asleep feeling truly happy for the first time in a long time.

Meanwhile, in a run-down mansion far away from Hogwarts, the Dark Lord was plotting. He was standing facing a hooded figure who was kneeling at his feet in a room lit solely with the light from the fireplace and Voldemort's wand. On the floor at the Dark Lord's feet was Nagini who was softly hissing praises to her master.
"I assume you know why I have summoned you here…" Voldemort said quietly.
"I have an idea, but I do not know for sure my Lord." The hooded person said, somewhat breathlessly.
"Well, you must know of the recent betrayal." Voldemort sneered, spitting out the last word as if it was a terrible tasting potion.
"Of course I have my Lord. But what, might I ask, does that have to do with me?"
"Well, you see… I have a mission for you."
"And what would that be my Lord?" the hooded figure asked excitedly.
"You are to kill the boy and his mother, of course."
The hooded figure looked at Voldemort for the first time and gave an excited and insane look before saying, "I'd be delighted to my Lord. You won't be disappointed."
As the Death Eater left the room after bowing, eager to get started, Voldemort gave a malicious laugh and hissed to Nagini in parseltongue, "I'm sure I won't be".
As the Dark Lord continued to think of ways to destroy the Malfoy's and Potter, the two boys in question slept soundlessly. Neither one realising that something big was brewing nor would neither one likely come out of it unscathed.
